We were told when we entered that there was something going on with espresso machine and we would need to wait about 15 minutes before we could get an espresso based beverage. We ordered brewed coffee and the young barista made a pot for us. The brewing pot was a standard Mr. Coffee coffee maker. The coffee was not very flavorful and it was difficult to even taste coffee. It was weak and thin. I purchased a muffin and it was good. Neighborhood boys came in for a snack while we were waiting for our coffee to brew. There was really no good seating. We enjoyed talking with the Barista. This is not going on the list for a return visit.

I don't want to drink any other coffee but really, really good craft coffee. If I drink anything else (from a fast food place, or Starbucks, or a Keurig), I will only do so if it's the only option and only if there is heavy whipping cream available. Scout Coffee is my saving grace while I am in Blue Springs. Their coffee is excellent, as good as some big dogs (like Onyx Coffee, Black and White, Intelligentsia, or Counter Culture). Great flavors. Great pour over options. Wonderful seasonal drinks that are not too sweet (although I wish they used better syrup, like Pink House Alchemy). They also serve some bakery items (limited) that are very good! I love their cinnamon sugar posh tart. The atmosphere of the shop is eclectic but comfy. Weird decorations, but it works. In the warmer days, the front porch is a great place to sit and visit with friends, or read a good book. They have good merch options and sell their coffee by both the bag and the bucket. All in all: excellent coffee. Worth the drive if you are 20-30mins nearby in KC. Oh, and the service is excellent! So friendly. So helpful.

I love that this provides business and entrepreneurial students with real-world experience. This is a fantastic idea. The employees were great, explaining the shop's backstory and their plans for this next year of students. The employees also mentioned that a lot of the pieces on the property were made by other groups. There's a giant metal coffee cup at their entrance which was welded together by the school's student as well. Students also created some of the artwork in the building. This is the type of shop that the community needs! I had a great experience, and their coffee was top-tier. The prices are relatively low, and the quality is excellent, making this the perfect place to spend time. I got the birthday cake latte and felt that I got a good value for what I paid for. It was so tasty and better than other birthday cake lattes I've had in the past. There are multiple spaces inside and outside that can cater to any group. Upstairs, there's a large dining table with plenty of seats, great for meetings. The inside and outside seating areas can accommodate smaller to mid-sized groups. I will be returning, as I could have stayed there all day and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and great coffee.
