Super friendly and my latte was great. Plenty of chairs, but not a lot of outlets. They're located in a "van" in the lobby in front of BOOST Physical Therapy & Sports Performance.
I've been coming to Ahadu since 2020, and it quickly became my safe haven during the pandemic when other coffee shops were closed. Teddy is so friendly and welcoming--he treats every customer like a friend. He roasts his own coffee, and my go-to order is a shot in the dark with a blueberry pastry (highly recommend!). I recently checked out his new location and love the fresh vibe. If you're ever in the area, definitely stop by!

Came for a deep mug of hot frothy delightfully milky chai and enjoyed every sip. So tasty with rich deep flavor and just what I needed to infuse life back into me on this cold December afternoon. I don't like star anise and most chai has a real bite to me, I haven't asked if they include that in their house blend but if they do they know how to blend it in seamlessly. Also I really appreciate that it's not very sweet. Surprised to see that on Fridays they offer a selection of savory and sweet crepes now.
I was pleasantly surprised by this coffee spot. I had no idea it was in this building! It's a super cute airstream coffee truck in the foyer of a sports/medical building. Great coffee, and plenty of seating.
I have been here several times, and always enjoy the food and service. Today, I enjoyed my crepe as usual, but also had one of the strongest and perfect mochas imaginable.
My first but not last trip to Ahadu. I made a second trip to get my first eggnog latte with an extra shot today. I used the drive thru and got a a cup of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe this morning.. A lovely single bean roast just like I like coffee. The barista working the drive thru window was friendly and engaged in conversation. On my afternoon trip I git to meet the owner and learn how they get their beans direct from Ethopia and roast them locally. This is the first coffee shop to see my favorite Christmas/Holiday beverage on the menu. The eggnog latte. I went back and it's the best. Clean restrooms and a quiet place to work and visit. So after trying some of their famous chai tea (not latte) at a Friendsgiving event, I decided to spend some time at Ahadu. My friend works there and highly recommends their espresso and chai. The owner makes his own personal blend of chai and it's such a great blend of cinnamon and spiciness that makes me so happy. They have lots of milk alternatives and their prices are reasonable. My 12oz chai latte with oat milk was $3.97. I came with a friend who ordered a cappuccino with oat milk and she also agreed that it was amazing. The place is spacious and clean with some high tables, regular tables and some couch chairs. The Womens bathroom was also very clean. While we were spending some time there working on our computers, the owner offered us a free sample of the brand new for the season Apple Pie Chai and it was so good. It's a bit sweeter than I prefer but not overwhelmingly so. It's a perfect drink for the holidays. If I'm in the area, I will definitely be back. They also offer a punch card for frequent customers. And there's also a drive-thru option which is very convenient. Go support this amazing local coffee shop!
This coffee shop is so cool! I love that they roast their own beans, and they have Ethiopian coffee, which is my top favorite. The owner is so nice. He offers a free coffee sample of freshly roasted coffee, and of course, I am immediately impressed! The crepe flavor is really good. There is a really nice tangy, sour kick through all the sweetness of the crepe. I just wish it's not as thick, but over all, it is delicious. I love the vibe in the coffee shop. You can study, chill, and read a book. They even have Paint Nite! If you are interested, some of the displayed artwork for Paint Nite look awesome. I'm definitely becoming a regular of this gem coffehouse.
First visit while in Lees Summit just off Douglas road. Owner was very customer focused. After ordering my hot latte with oat milk and grabbing a banana muffin, he offered a test taste of the 'Ethiopian Sidamo' which i accepted and is a very mild, flavorful coffee. The latte is excellent and the muffin was fresh and delicious. Very reasonable prices (16 oz latte $3.79). Highly recommend.
I've been hearing about Ahadu for quite some time but have yet to make it in until today, and I'm glad I did. The atmosphere is great for putting the headphones on and getting some work done. Pro tip: Do your part buying a small bevvy or snack for every hour you plan on staying. I did not stay today but I would have loved to if I'd had time. It's just a helpful hint for coffee shops that don't make a ton of money in the first place, and is the same across the board for every other small business. The barista was amazing, store was clean, products well-stocked and I had a surprisingly amazing cup of black Ethiopian coffee! I heard they have crepes on the weekends and I'll be back for sure to try them out. Way to go Ahadu! Don't ever leave LS!
I tried their house made chai, which was good. I also ordered the sundried tomato and turkey crepe which was savory, but on the salty side. Staff was very kind, but my issue is apart from food and drink. The place was a furnace! My party of 3 was hot and sweating sitting inside, we actually moved outdoors, where it was cooler. The inside temp was easily like 80 degrees; way too hot to actually enjoy our drinks and company without being uncomfortable.
My friend told me about this place and it's completely changed my standards on an energy drink. I got a pineapple raspberry energizer from here and not only was it beautiful but it was delicious! Natural caffeine? You can't beat it! The lady was nice and helpful and this place is the CUTEST. Yes, it's in a hospital, but don't sleep on this place. read more
This spot is inside a medical building in Lees Summit by Frontier Justice. Happenstance placed me close by and I'm so glad. I received quite more than just the Ahadu special. Teddy the owner, was kind enough to educate me on his business journey along with the birth of coffee in Africa.. Ethiopia be exact. The Ahadu special 20oz consists of 4 shots of espresso which his technique of grounds is not overbearing, but it wasn't bitter as he gave me a cup of straight Java. The additional ingredients are caramel, vanilla and two nuts of which he'd only reveal one... almond. It was such a delicious and delightful mixture. read more

I had my doubts because of the location. I expected a sterile vibe but once again never judge a book by its cover. This place is welcoming and relaxing. Everyone working and visiting were just chill and kind. They do crepes Friday thru Sunday and it's quite the menu. They also offer a chicken and egg burrito along with various pastries and cookies. Coffee is roasted by the owner and I believe he only roasts Ethiopian beans. Truly a great local spot. read more

I discovered this gem while traveling in KC. Wonderful service and great coffee! Had the opportunity to try both their iced latte and "Ahadu special" (steamed half and half with caramel, vanilla and nut flavors). Both drinks did not disappoint. A must try if you're in the Lee's Summit area and in search of good coffee. read more

In our ongoing quest for the perfect writing/coffee space, my daughter and I went to Ahadu, which is walking distance from our house. I've been curious about the place for years and now regret not going in sooner. Pros: - space. It's big and open and pleasantly decorated, but not trying too hard. - staff. SO friendly and welcoming, including a guy I think was maybe the owner. Drinks were up almost immediately and food didn't take much longer. - convenience: there's a drive-thru! I didn't use it today, but plan to in the future. Their drinks are up so quickly that I'm guessing it moves along well. - menu. Varied, but not ridiculously so. They do a few things and do them well, which I think is why the food and drinks don't take long to make. - drinks. My coffee was what the barista recommended, the Ahadu special, which she said is their most popular. I usually get plant milk, but often try my first drink at a new place with whole milk to get a baseline. This was creamy, rich, and flat-out yummy. My daughter's strawberry lemon drink was a seasonal special and was about what you'd expect, cold and sweet and fruity. - food. I'd heard about the crepes here, and they didn't disappoint. They're large and hearty and reasonably priced. Our whole meal for two was under $30 without the tip (please tip generously!). - music. Nice selection and not too loud. Cons: - my only complaint, and it's tiny, is that the seating is mostly attractive wooden chairs, which are low-maintenance, but not particularly inviting or comfortable. There is some cushy couch/chair seating, which is not ideal for doing work on a laptop, but we used it anyway, and I made do with a pillow on my lap. For those who plan to do a lot of work while sipping their coffee, if you have a tender butt (like me), it might be worth it to bring a lap desk. Overall, I'm delighted to have finally discovered this gem in my neighborhood and will absolutely be back. Can't imagine going to Starbucks now if this place is open when I need a fix. read more

I had the espresso Ahadu special very smooth drink that seems to slide down my throat with the flavor lightly lingering on my taste buds. I can't comment on the coffee drinks, but I can (and will) vouch for their crepes, which are delicious. I stumbled onto learning about their weekend (now daily... thanks COVID-19) menu that offers sweet and savory crepes. I opted for a chicken and egg crepe, which I was told had a little of the sun-dried tomato and pesto flavors I was looking for. I was a bit taken aback that the chicken wasn't shredded like the menu said, but that did not take away from the robust flavor that the crepe packed overall. I couldn't really taste the egg in it (it's over-easy), but I could taste all the other ingredients, which complemented each other well; the sauces served with it added to it also. If you need a crepe fix in Lee's Summit, come here between 9a-1p everyday and treat yourself! read more

WONDERFUL coffee! This was my first time coming here after seeing the amazing reviews and I'm happy I did. The owner and the girl cashiering patiently explained each of the fun drinks they could make me. I ended up getting the Special and it was unlike anything I've tasted before. I would suggest you also try it! The staff here are very fun and easy to talk to. The vibe of the coffee shop would be great for studying or meeting with a friend. Would definitely recommend! read more

Best coffee (straight black) so far in my long weekend getaway in KC. Wife said the Mocha was a great balance. Good flavor and not too sweet Got a Crepe (Ham and Cheese) thinking it would be a "light" breakfast. the thing was huge - very good! read more
