So I just happen to keep the owner in Office Depot. He told me about his coffee shop and I mentioned I would check it out. Little did I know I would be in for a life changing experience with my morning routine. I came in, looked at the menu, which typically I only order whatever is brewed at the moment anyways, black, no extra junk in it to mess up the flavor, and that's what I did. I'm a light roast guy, and after getting a Coffee 101 from the owner who just happen to be in, now I know why. My palette is only for the top of the line when it comes to taste. Lol. This coffee is some of the smoothest coffee you can find around the entire metro area. I travel a ton, and drink a ton of coffee to keep going, by far one of the best I've had. On a side note, he has this machine that evaporated the water up into the grounded beans, or something like that. It looked like a chemistry set, but WHOA, the taste was AMAZING. Okay, back to my review and I'll end with this. This shop reminds me of what a coffee shop used to be like before mainstream came along and tainted the industry. This place has good music, friendly environment, nice location, the workers are hella nice, and best of all, the coffee is one of a kind. After drinking this 3 days in a row and tasting a cup of my coffee I brew at home this morning, I immediately dumped it out, attempted to get dressed without coffee, dropped my kiddo off at daycare, and came here to by a bag, and of course grabbed a cup. My husband and I stumbled across this gem by accident and we had one of our best coffee dates to date! From the moment we stepped in we felt so welcome and the Baristas were super nice and took the time to share the details of menu items we weren't familiar with. We sampled a few of their Ethiopian blend coffees before ordering. All fabulous so it was hard to choose! I ended up going with a caramel latte and my husband got the Mocha. We asked for ours to be only *slightly sweet* and they made them perfectly! We were sad when we drank our last sip. Lucky for us, the Owners put on a beautiful demonstration of how their Family drinks coffee in Ethiopia. It was such a cool experience and there's a book in the shop that was passed around to give the story behind the coffee bean. We got to taste the freshly roasted coffee and it was of course amazing! The Owners - Teddy and Ana - are the KINDEST souls and you can tell from the moment you meet them that their heart is really in this business. Please go support this family owned Shop and take a moment to chat with the Guys behind the Counter - Logan and Nash. Such great guys - intelligent, friendly, and both wise beyond their years!! It's a wonderful spot to read, congregate, study, etc. If they end up getting a fireplace and gluten free baked goods they might just see me everyday! Go check them out! Wow. Just tried their crepes (Fri-Sun 9a-3p). So tasty! Both savory and sweet crepes. Owner makes by hand. Very friendly. Kids loved watching. And coffee is wonderful. Very fun place to hang out. Has Lord of the Ring trivial pursuit which is an added bonus. Good location. Pricing is good. Super fun place to go. Only regret is we didn't try it sooner. Warning: crepes are huge. Next time we will likely share them!! And crepes are made fresh so it takes a little while to make them. About 10min to make them (makes two at a time though) read more

Our knitting group visited this shop for the first time today and loved it! The Barista was very friendly and explained about the various coffees. He was very proud, for good reason, of the quality of their beans. My friend got the chicken sandwich and said it was wonderful. It looked great. I had two different kinds of coffee and loved both, the white chocolate mocha and the frozen coffee drink. The shop has plenty of comfortable seating and nice atmosphere. Excellent service as well. So we went here because of the 5 star rating this place has but we definitely did not get that service. We told the two girls working that it was our first time in, and rather than offering suggestions or any sort of service they took it as "oh cool let me carry about my gossip". Granted we did take about 3 minutes to decide so maybe we should've been faster. After ordering our two drinks and a crepe we sat for about 20 minutes waiting for our crepe we found out it wasn't even made (Accidents happen, whatever). What made me want to come here and leave a review is how they handled everything. After realizing our crepe was forgotten they offered a partial refund with an attitude. The one positive is the hard working guy making the crepes. Gave us two butter cookies for the trouble (I would've offered two muffins but that's just me as a business owner). Just not sure how this place has 5 stars unless their crepes are made out of coke crystals (guess we'll never know). Only reason this isn't 1 star is because I liked the hard working man making crepes, go you crepe man. read more

Really great coffee and really great service. It's a shame it's kind of tucked back off the road in a shopping mall, as it's easy to miss. I've been in Lee's Summit for a while now and had no idea it was there, having to discover it online. The manager was very friendly and knowledgeable- happy to tell me a bit about their coffee including their vendors and processes. If you just want a delicious cup of black coffee, get the Ethiopian Sidamo (light/medium roast). Very good stuff. read more

in my quest to try every local coffee shop, i google searched this place on my morning drive and decided to give it a try. the coffee was decent, and at a decent price. i also had a muffin, not sure the origin, but it was pretty tasty. all in the all, the decor of this place reminds me of a strip-mall coffee place, nothing fancy. It wasn't very crowded when I went, and the young man working the counter seemed nice enough. if this is your closest local coffee shop, you could do much worse. read more

I recently tried this new coffee shop in Lees Summit and was quite pleasantly surprised at how good it is! The Genesis Espresso is so smooth and has a great flavor. The homemade cranberry orange muffin was the best I've ever had! The owner, Teddy, is so nice and welcoming and knowledgeable about Ethiopian coffee. His brother in law does his coffee roasting at his shop in Overland Park, so you know it's fresh. I'd definitely go to Ahadu ASAP, and try it out. I'll probably see you there! read more

This is my favorite coffee house! They have delicious paninis and coffee! My personal favorite is their iced mochas hehe. They also have smoothies which are delicious as well :) And it's not just the food that is good, the atmosphere is amazing as well!
