This place had several good things going for it. The drip coffee for the longest time was exquisite. They would brew it with perfect balance, which had a full-bodied flavor, but now? It's been three consecutive times that I've came and the brew has been on the disappointing week side. If I got something else like a chai, it's been a little on the lackluster side too. They used to have some awesome baristas, and I haven't seen this one barista who made sure things ran smoothly. Yesterday, I noticed customer service really lacking. When I arrived at 11:30 AM the three baristas were all up front and had been attentive, but around 1 PM they had all drifted in back and none would pop their head out to see if anyone had come to the counter. I had stood at the counter for five minutes or so, and had thought I had made eye contact with one girl, but apparently she must have not seen me. I even said "hello" out loud, but nothing. A minute or two later a lady came in and was waiting behind me, and after a minute or two she asked if I had been waiting long. I told her the truth, and eventually a barista came out and asked me if I had been waiting long? I explained that I had, and had tried to catch someone's attention. I ordered an iced matcha and the lady behind me ordered some other drink. Guess who's came out first? I waited a few more minutes and noticed the another barista (a guy) had just started making an iced match, which apparently was my drink. Where were the girls? In the back, chatting away and giggling. I guess neither of them knew how to make an iced matcha. read more

4.5 stars. I've been here several times before and still go to switch up my coffee rotation. The service is always wonderful and everyone is friendly. Even if there's a long line they do make the drinks come out quickly. I'm only deducting half a star because sometimes I feel like my latte is a little bit watered down with milk. I rarely have a need to come to Lee's Summit. However, I was here twice in a week to review some stuff in my personal life and so I decided to check out two coffee shops (the other one being Gusto). This was the second coffee shop I had tried in downtown LS, the first being Whistle Stop Coffee and Mercantile, which I quite liked. Unlike Whistle Stop, Frost had a more modern design, with sleeker tables and chairs, which is great. I got a regular coffee and a scone and it came out a little over $8 with tax (not including tip). Unfortunately, the coffee was not for me, I tasted some type of chemically aftertaste that I could not put my finger one but it led to an unpleasant experience. Adding milk and stevia masked it somewhat, but I could not drink it black. The scone was also dry and chalky, like it was from the day before or one of the first batches in the morning that was going a bit stale. I wanted to like this place more, and while I didn't drink the English brew, I'll steal the saying and say that Frost Coffee was not my Cup 'O Tea. read more

It has a modern chic vibes to the place. It's small and quaint. Enough seating to enjoy your coffee with friends and family. Not only do they have the basic traditional coffee selection but they also have a menu for their house specialty coffees and baked goods. This coffee shop is so cute! When we lost internet due to a storm we had, we drove to the nearest coffee shop to work. The staff is friendly and so are the customers. The environment was comfortable and fairly quiet even with all the different conversations going around. The seating is pretty spacious I didn't feel like I was invading anyone's personal space. I tried the cinnamon roll and iced coffee. I am not much of a coffee drinker but would recommend their ice coffee, so many flavors to choose from! So you can watch the trains, the traffic, and the pedestrians on the sidewalks. This one's a bit more comfortable than others. But if you're having a business meeting there's also a private meeting area Along with all the usual coffee concoctions found in today's coffee shops you can also get a very good cup of normal drip coffee! Lee's Summit has one of the most bustling and vibrant downtowns of any suburb in the Kansas City metro. Frost is fortunate to have a great corner location and lots of windows to witness the hustle and bustle of pedestrians, vehicles and railcars, including Amtrak that stops next door 4 times daily. A bright, clean and modern diner vibe is quite appealing, and the coffee, sweets and sandwich menu is broad. My wife had a cup of drip and I did the signature Frost, a frappe to cool off on a humid August Missouri Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed our stay and our people watching. The only thing that keeps Frost from getting 5 stars are the "kids" behind the counter. It felt like we were interrupting their social time and when we asked about the drip coffee, the young man had no idea what they were brewing, "Do you want to taste it" was his only response he could give. Someone has spent some money and time to make it a very inviting environment. There really should be better training or managing of staff for better customer service. read more

Have been here many times and always a pleasure. More of a coffee place than tea. I'm a tea person so after trying several I stick with the Chat. Not the greatest Chai I've had but ok. What you take want here are the donuts. Baked offsite but so perfect and just like you could get at the Frost in days gone by before this reincarnation came to town. Sometimes there is a line but people are patient and it all works out. Family friendly. I haven't had the breakfast offerings but quite a few seem to order them. Fun spot on a busy corner of downtown Lee's Summit. My takeaway; come for the coffee and treats, maybe skip the sandwiches? I always enjoy finding fun coffee shops when I travel, and being somewhat unfamiliar with Lee's Summit, I wanted to check this place out. My friend and I were looking for vegetarian lunches nearby, and there really just wasn't much at all to choose from. We saw they had a grilled cheese here, and with the vibe of the place, it felt like it was going to be a good one on artisanal bread, or with some salad or something...it wasn't. It was a pretty bland, pretty blah, airport quality sandwich. That's alright, but I wouldn't come here again for food. The nitro cold brew coffee I had was delicious and silky smooth. It looked like a Guiness stout and had a great balance of flavor. Such a cute and cozy coffee shop! It's super clean and filled with natural light from all the windows, which makes it feel so bright and airy. The outdoor seating looks perfect for a sunny day, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. This place is super bright, clean and welcoming. Each table had a fresh flower on it which for some reason I absolutely love. It's like they took the time to add that special touch. They also have bar seating by the counter and in front of the windows. I ordered a caramel latte and a blackberry lemon danish and they were absolutely delicious! The coffee was smooth and it wasn't overly sweet. They do have breakfast and lunch items that I would like to go back and try but I'm a sucker for blackberry anything so I had to go with the danish. I've gone to Frost many times and when I went Monday it was delicious and the staff was amazing . Today I went with my mother and had a completely different experience. The girl that took my order was very unfriendly and acted like we were bothering her. I'm a trained barista and the shots in our lattes today were not good. Very watery and tasted very different from the great drink on Monday. As someone that's worked in the coffee world, I know it can be fast paced and stressful. Came here for the first time for a meeting. First impression, the place looked nice but the service wasn't there. Took a while for someone to greet me and they kinda acted like they were to good to serve anyone. I was asking questions about the menu (as it was my first time there) and the lady was short with me and kept looking around as if she had something else better to do. The place wasn't busy and there was no one behind me. Once my order was ready my first impression of the coffee was that it tasted watered down and my sandwich wasn't hot nor fresh at all.
