A coworker took me here while I was visiting. I had a coffee and a biscuit, both were great. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I would go back. read more

My husband and I visited this coffee shop and when we first walked in, it was completely packed and only had small high top counters available, so we turned around to leave and then found out that our starter went out in our car! I ended up going back inside and found a table by that time while he was calling triple AAA. We had about an hour and 20 minutes left before they closed and my husband came in and told one of the barista about our car situation. We were worried that it wouldn't be picked up on time because there is a large metal gate that they lock off the parking lot, they also have accordion gates to lock in the front of the coffee shop. Thankfully, the tow truck came in time! But when I first was in the coffee shop and I stood in line, I was standing behind four people that were in their later 60s. I didn't realize that I was at the end of the line because they were the only people in line and they had no signage stating where to begin your order. So then when I figured it out because two other women walked to the correct side I got behind them and they graciously let me go in front of them. I was watching the interaction between the male barista with the older people, and I felt like he was short with them and frustrated because they had questions about their menu. Their menu is limited and even with myself going to many many coffee shops. It was somewhat of a challenge to find out actually what they had. I was looking at the tea selection and their coffee and they have a limited syrups and have no syrups for their teas. I believe that was probably the hold up with the older people trying to navigate what they have. When I got up to the counter, it was a different barista. It was a young woman, and the service was fine with her. They gave me a little stand with a number and another barista who did not have a good attitude brought out my latte and my husband's canned latte that is made from their business. I asked the barista if they had any Stevia and she said no they only had a simple sugar syrup. So she brought out a small restaurant style syrup carafe with a simple syrup and a tiny spoon. I asked if they had any to go cups because we were waiting for AAA and the original barista had said they only have to go jars with a lid and you had to leave $1.75 deposit. So I told her just to give me the latte in a regular cup because I didn't want to have to deal with getting a refund for that. That is one thing that I don't care for when it comes to coffee shops is not having a to go cup. There are many recyclable cups that can be purchased or degradable cups if their concern is the environment. My husband did not care for his canned latte. It was a bourbon vanilla flavor and it was I think $6.75 or $6.25 for a smaller can. I did like their latte, but for some reason, I kept getting lightheaded after adding their simple sugar syrup, which I thought was very odd. I do not have diabetes or any blood sugar problems. The coffee shop is pretty much an L shape with a variety of seating from tables and chairs to counter high tops and a couch. They also have some picnic tables outside that are under a covered patio. They have a variety of art on their walls and they also have bagged coffee for sale, but I found it to be exceedingly high priced. While the coffee was good for my latte, I would not go back because of the limited seating and the lack of barista friendliness. Even with people who I could tell were definitely regulars, when the regulars would give them a parting goodbye, they barely acknowledged them. I definitely prefer Anchor Island down the street. read more

A fun, kinda eccentric coffee shop! Delicious coffee that was ready pretty quickly. Truly the coffee is very good. The staff were friendly and open to chat. An interesting lay out regarding the shop with more space available than I thought: there's plenty of seating inside and outside. Also- a nice plus- they have their own parking spaces! read more

Every cafe has a personality, it's quirk.. the name says it all. At the time of my visit undergoing some renovations but still open for business with some very clear foot traffic direction. I like their style, even better the motto.. I can't state anything better than what's on their website! Unique way to serve coffee and contribute to reducing waste (to-go cups with a sustainable glass jar program). So my drink was in a mason jar ($1.75) , with lid & a coozie which I believe I can return for refund, refill or swap. My hot Bourbon Vanilla Latte (Macadamia Milk) was a warm jar of goodness! Outside of taking in the art on the walls, the poetic excerpts, there's clothing merch which looks to be made onsite, this place is such a vibe! house Coffee, breakfast foods with a slap of good ole character! read more

First off I must comment on the vibes - this place is gorgeously creepy! You gotta love the work they put into the walls, ceiling, bathroom and outdoors! Absolutely beautiful and oddly creepy art everywhere. The ceiling with the hanged leprechaun and head of a rabbit and girl really take the creepy odd vibes home haha. I tried the tumeric ginger tea - I really enjoyed the punch of tumeric and ginger to my mouth. The balance was just right and flavorful to me. I'd soooo get this again! The lemonade coffee was odd to me - not my cup of a drink. The latte drink was a bit heavy on the bitterness for me but coffee lovers will enjoy it. The staff was friendly and odd as well - very fitting for the theme! I give it 5 stars because the vibes blew me out the water. read more

Great coffee and food! Love All the plants and cat art! Great customer service.. 10/10

My friend sent me a read ahead of places to try while I was in KC and he was otherwise occupied and actually had a work vendor who lives in KC and Oddly Correct was on both their list. The coffee didn't call to me (not a coffee fan) but homemade biscuits? Limited batches? I'm sure I could find a non-coffee drink. I got there a little before 930 in the morning, took a look at how busy outside it was and hoped that there were still some biscuits left. When it was my turn to order that was the firs thing I asked was if there were any biscuits left and there was. I was honestly not sure of my next move, so I asked for some help. The person behind the counter said that the build your own option was popular and whatever I add to make sure pimento cheese was on it-since it was almost out. Great, let's do that with egg and sausage. I was looking at the teas but...bourbon vanilla latte? I asked again, is that for real or is it mostly just vanilla? I was assured actual bourbon was used in the syrup. I admitted that I'm not a coffee fan so I'd again follow her lead. She said she likes it with Oat Milk and then asked if I wanted a reusable/refillable glass. I said sure why not, it's a little souvenir. I found a nice seat, plugged in, logged into their wifi and my sandwich came to me, stacked. The pimento cheese was as described piled high that boosted a little spice of the sausage and the smoothness of the egg. The bourbon vanilla latte was friggin delicious! If I lived in KC I'd definitely be a regular coffee drinker for sure? Proof? I finished my drink then got up to get a refill the same visit-jitters be damned! read more

Unfortunately, my first visit here will also be my last. The coffee was good, but the overall customer service and ordering experience left a lot to be desired. I wasn't greeted when I arrived, and the young woman who took my to-go order made very little eye contact or conversation. My coffee was then handed to me in a plastic cup with a koozie, with no explanation of how their cup system works. I eventually had to ask and learned that the cup was mine to keep or could be returned for a $1.75 refund. I didn't see anything posted explaining this either, which made something as simple as ordering a cup of coffee more complicated than it needed to be. During my visit, the employees seemed focused on interacting with each other rather than with their customers. The only person who spoke to me was an employee with red hair in braids, and I appreciated her making the effort. Again, the coffee itself was good. Unfortunately, good coffee wasn't enough to make up for the lack of customer service and the unnecessarily confusing process. For me, it was simply too high-maintenance for a cup of coffee and a one-and-done experience. read more

Finally got to check Oddly Correct off the list of coffee shops to try in KC! We got a breakfast sandwich and the vanilla bourbon latte and both were delicious. My fiancé got the hot cake sandwich which was okay but texture-wise wasn't my thing, but I loved my biscuit. The coffee was incredible and I can't wait to bring my jar back to get it discounted next time. The line was long but moved along pretty fast. Seating was fairly limited for a busy day but could see this being a good place to get some work done remotely and they had some picnic tables for outdoor seating. Pricey but worth it on a special occasion weekend outing! read more

I was dragging on the morning that I stopped in and Yelp had told me that this coffee shop was right around that corner from where I had to work that morning. I wish I had more time to stay and eat and drink my coffee, but I grabbed an Iced Latte and muffin to go. I was a bit confused when my order was ready and they gave me a glass jar, lid and koozie with their lab on it. When I asked I was told to help prevent landfill that is what they use as the togo cups. Such a cool Idea not only to help reduce trash but I will definitely remember it. My coffee was good and so was the muffin, I need to stop in here when I have more time. read more

I was finally able to try a biscuit sandwich from Oddly Correct! On the weekends, Oddly is packed wall to wall, and they sell out of their handmade flaky biscuits early in the day. On a weekday, there was plenty of seating and plenty of biscuits to be had. They have a build-your-own biscuit menu with topping options like sausage, cheese curds, jam, and bacon. Highly recommend cheese curd. The biscuits are so crumbly and flaky that this is definitely a knife and fork sandwich experience (silverware available by the water/busing station). Oddly Correct is known for their coffee but they have caffeine free options like their turmeric tea available too. I love their unique science-y drink set up if you decide to stay in for your beverage. Their to-go coffees are served in reusable glass jars! Super sustainable. The service was quick and friendly! Plenty of street parking on a weekday, but expect to walk a bit on the weekends. read more

Oddly Correct - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Kansas City, Missouri

This spot is currently in my #2 spot for coffee of all of KC (hefty list, so this means a lot). I love how they don't use landfill items and everything is glass. Not only is the coffee so smooth and delicious that you'll have a hard time not keep ordering more, but I also got the biscuit where you can add your ingredients that you'd want and it was the perfect mix of tasting homemade and perfect. I got the biscuit with bacon, egg and cheese and it was fantastic. The bacon was thick and cooked perfect. The biscuit was a great mix of flakey. The space is good sized, but it can fill out fast and it was cool to see all of the old printer pieces too. Beautiful, airy place filled with plants so it feels like a breath of fresh air. The employees are super kind and helpful. I highly recommend! read more

Instagram made us do the trek to Oddly Correct to try their famous breakfast sandwiches. This place was so cute! Loved the outside paint on the building. The inside was spacious and had a lot of light coming in. Also good decor. Lots of merch and other goodies to shop for. I got an iced chai latte, which is some of the best I have ever tried. My boyfriend got a rosella tea, which was also good. Now onto the real stuff - the biscuits. The Hotcakes Sandwich was surprisingly good. I didn't know what the expect but it was a nice portion with overall good flavor. Build your own biscuit option was also good. Everything was hot and freshly made. Outdoor seating area was large but could use some shade and maybe even some comfortable lounge area. Private lot and street parking. read more

I got an iced latte. It tastes like some really nasty shit you would make at home with a drip coffee machine. Only one size which is really small. Way overpriced. Pretty disappointing, but I guess this cat koozie is ok. read more

Loved this cool little coffee shop! We ate outside on the picnic tables. After ordering, they gave us a table number and they brought our food and drinks out to us. I haven't updated my review since they moved to their newer location on Troost (they were formerly on the edge of Main St. on Westport). It's a big improvement overall! The most recent morning in, it was 20 degrees so naturally no one is lingering out on their gigantic patio, but you can imagine during the warmer months it's a nice place to set up. One thing about this coffee company is that they continually find a way to humble me and remember how uncool I am. They have two counters set up, and I chose the wrong one. I got my coffee to go and when the barista started filling up a glass jar I reminded her it was "to-go" which she sort of rolled her eyes like, "I know dude, this is our to-go cup" energy. First time I've ever seen it, a gentle explanation would suffice. Definitely some of those too-cool-for-school vibes here, but dammit if the coffee doesn't hit every single time. It's so good. I love black coffee and their drip coffee is on par with a quality pour over elsewhere. They roast it beautifully and have it down to a science. I'll go here occasionally for the great coffee, and take some beans home for special occasions. Not an everyday coffeeshop for me and would love some warmer, more welcoming vibes more consistently from this place. read more

Since moving to KC I've been on a hunt for a good bacon, egg, and cheese. None of the closer coffee shops had one, so I went a little further out of my way to try Oddly Correct. And boy am I glad I did! The kitchen was a little backed up, but the baristas more than made up for it with their attentiveness and positive attitudes. They also made me the best latte I've had since coming out and the sandwich was AMAZING, albeit a *little* greasy (definitely coming here next time I'm hungover). As a coffee lover I have been hearing so much about this place and knew I had to try it out! There was a bit of a line and a wait but it was worth it! The bourbon vanilla latte was to die for. I found this place when I was visiting Kansas City on my own for the first time and needed some good coffee. Specialty coffee lovers in Kansas City, this is going to be your go-to cafe and roastery! I visited in June 2024 and have been back several times throughout 2024. They have single origin pourovers, multiple different milk coffee drinks, a variety of teas, and black tea drinks like chai and london fog. I've tried their Ethiopian and Kenyan pourovers, the latte, and london fog. All have been good but the london fog was phenomenal, best one I've ever had! Pourovers were balanced and enjoyable, and latte was nutty and chocolatey. I've tried some food items too, like the breakfast biscuit, blueberry coffee cake, hojicha chocolate chip cookie, matcha macaroon, and a strawberry shortcake muffin. They were all good, nothing amazing but a nice snack after your coffee for sure. When it comes to just the drinks and food, I would probably rate it 4-4.5 stars. Everything is solid. But based on the good vibes, I would bump it up to 5. The shop feels so welcoming and quirky down to the artwork and interior, and the customer service is friendly. You can even watch the roasting happen if you're sitting at the high chairs in the back of the shop. A great place to go when you're in downtown KC and you wanna feel comforted. That's certainly what I do! PS: One thing I would like to see from Oddly is more descriptive notes about the single origin beans in general. Notes like "nutty" "clean" "silky" etc are fine but it would be awesome to get more specific notes to figure out whether it's something that I'd want to try like what kind of fruit or what kind of nut. read more

The place is cute and a nice environment to have a chat with friends, but the chai isn't my favorite. I got an iced chai with oat milk and their vanilla bourbon syrup, but unfortunately I couldn't taste the syrup and could only taste a kinda watered down chai. I think the milk had also begun to separate because there were little particles floating to the top of my drink. I have heard great things about their coffee, but I personally wouldn't recommend the chai. read more

Incredible! I really enjoyed this place. They have so many decaf options including cold brew which nobody usually has! I got a decaf bourbon vanilla latte with oat milk, and the sausage jalapeño artichoke biscuit, and split a donut with my husband. The coffee was divine. So, so delicious. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. It wasn't spicy but it was so good. The donut was fascinating. It had a weird texture for a donut, almost angel food cake like? Sort of like soft and chewy, but it was probably the best donut I've ever had. My husband got the hot cake sandwich and wouldn't even let me try it because it was too good lol. Everything here was top notch. I'd definitely come back! read more

I love it here. From the moment you walk in, it is such an eclectic and artistic space. The walls are painted white brick, and they have thoughtful decor and plants placed throughout the coffee shop. Iced americano was OK. Espresso wasn't anything special but it was smooth so I enjoyed it how I usually do: iced and black. We had our coffees to stay due to the to-go cup up charge. To-go cups are actually reusable jars adorned with "Oddly" cozies. Cool concept if this is your go-to coffee shop but not so great if you're not from the area so you won't be returning.
