Water jug

You can tell when entering that this is a neighborhood coffee shop. Located next to a Johnny Jo's pizza shop and in the front space of bay boy sandwiches, this coffee shop is worth a stop if you are in the area. The menu is compact: coffee tea, seasonal drinks and sweet and savory breakfast items. They offer milk alternatives and vegan food options. I ordered the almond cookie latte with oat milk. So creamy. I slurped it down so fast. It was flavorful but not overly sweet. I just wish it was a bit hotter temp wise. Parking is a challenge. Only street parking. And because it's in a residential neighborhood, you may have to walk a half block or so. Service is friendly and quick.

Sausage burrito (or rice burrito?)

Recommendation from tiktok about this place having the best breakfast burrito in town. People recommending must have never had a good bf burrito before? It was literally a rice burrito - see pic. It could have been good had it contained more of the other advertised ingredients. The coffee was also not great - it had a sour taste and there was not enough ice so it was warm but I did enjoy the misugaru flavor. Overall a serious miss - 2 stars because the staff was lovely.

Clean with cute and minimal decoration. The staff are nice and provide good recs. We loved the food and coffee. We both had seasonal drinks: white chocolate peppermint latte and mojito espresso tonic - we loved both. I love foofoo drinks but am often disappointed because they are too think or rich. Not here. I thought they were perfect. We also had the gochujang sausage burrito. It was excellent! I highly recommend!

Cortado and matcha latte

Went on a coffee tasting run recently in KC. To base my reviews, I will say that I have my own espresso set up at home, and have tried coffees across the nation from SF to NYC. Chingu coffee was alright. Got a matcha latte and a cortado - I appreciate that they completed latte art for my cortado. I feel like when a cafe takes the effort to do latte art, the overall barista experience and skill is higher, which is reflected in the taste of the coffee itself. I'll say that the coffee was fine - on par with what I could make at home. Price was reasonable. Matcha latte left a lot to be desired in my opinion. Not much matcha flavor, and overall was dominantly milk. Both drinks came out quick. There was enough seating inside, and it's relatively cozy as well. I could see myself getting a coffee and completing some work or doing some reading inside.

So yummy! Super simple and cute shop, lots of light that comes through for a light ambiance. Coffee is just what I wanted, they could even do sweet cream foam for me which I loved! Definitely will be coming back, especially since it is only 2 mins from work, SCORE!!!

This small coffee spot in the west plaza neighborhood is the perfect addition to the area. It is attached to Bat Boys sandwich spot which makes it a convenient stop. I ordered the honey cappuccino and it was perfect. The beans are strong but are not bitter or burnt. The cappuccino came out with some of the best foam art I have seen in a while. Highly recommend.

Another great coffee spot amongst many in the KC area. They have some of their own flavored syrups if you want to make things interesting, but otherwise nice straight forward menu. They also offer pastries, not sure if they are made in house or from a local bakery. I went with the matcha latte and added an espresso shot (try it if you've never had it). Bonus points, their latte art was immaculate.

The unique Asian inspired flavors at this Westside coffee shop, that shares a space with Bay Boy, make it stand out. With the subtle blends of sweetness and earthiness the house-made syrups mixed with the rich espresso always creates an amazing drink. Also, pro-tip sign up for their rewards program and get a BOGO drink once a month so, you can try out all the options. Another really amazing thing Chingu stands by is that they don't charge for alternative dairy, heck yeah- score on for local! Now onto my two must order beverages from this cafe, one has to be the red bean and the other has to be misuguru, which is a buttery brown sugar flavor that makes an epic latte. The red bean is much more earthy and less sweet but works with the inherent bitterness of the espresso. Any coffee drink here is prepared with care and is bound to brighten your day so, stop in and be sure to check out the outstanding sandwich shop (not affiliated but just as local) because this is a little corner of happiness.

I'll skip to the ending..... come on in. The coffee is good, the flavors are good, the pastries were good, and the burritos are great. I wasn't thinking that rice in a burrito would be good, but it was light and fluffy.....and the sauce is to die for. The counter staff was polite and attentive. The physical space works fine. The only issue I could come up with is parking. I didn't have any issues, however you may have to park down the block on the side streets.

Chingu Coffee had been on my radar for a while when I stopped in for a meeting last fall. I wasn't totally sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed this little cafe. First of all it's located in west plaza so the location is nice. Just off the business of the plaza shops and it's attached to Bay Boy Sandwiches, another one of my local faves. While the drinks they offer do have a Korean twist to some of them, the cafe itself has a very modern American coffee shop vibe. It's not big inside but it's large enough to find a table to work or meet with someone if you time it right. What made this a 5 over a 4 Star for me was the specialty latte I had and the service. The drink had a great flavor profile and wasn't overly sweet while still packing some unique flavors. The staff was approachable and kind, which you don't always find at hip little shops like this. In short: I'll be back!

I was excited to try this Korean-owned coffee shop, but was disappointed that their menu didn't have anything Korean inspired. I got their matcha latte w/ lavender add and it was very matcha flavored, watered down, and I didn't taste any lavender...I'm hoping they'll get some Korean lattes! Parking is difficult and only has street parking. They're connected to Bay Boy and have some seating with tables.

Caramel latte and breakfast sandwich

Was my first time stoping by this coffee shop and was very pleased with the quality of service and how quickly we got are order given there was one guy working. We spent 40$ on 4 coffees and a breakfast sandwich with a sweet treat. I was hesitant to spend 9 on the breakfast sandwich given most places are just warmed up frozen sandwiches and this probably was too but had good portion of meat and was tasty so I was pleased. Coffee was good and not stuff to the rim with ice only would have added some Carmel drizzle! 10/10 would recommend!!

Tried out Chingu coffee the other week and it did not disappoint. The cute shop is located about a block off the plaza. It has a cozy historic feel on the inside. The staff was friendly and welcoming! I ordered the matcha and I would highly recommend it. Sometimes when you get matcha it tastes like milk, but not Chingu I could taste the matcha. Going to need Matcha more of this.

Great coffee and service. When I spilled my coffee, they happily cleaned it up. Or maybe not happily, but smiled while doing it.
