Cool seasonal centerpieces, a nice touch.

I frequently visited the Post Coffee location in Lee's Summit years ago when I used to work nearby. In my opinion, this Midtown space is a great fit for them. A space that is historically a well-known café has a legacy that lives on with Post. It's within walking distance from my house. I like the coffee. It's a great spot to meet up with friends. I'll continue to give them my business and hope it's here for years to come.

I visited Post Coffee for the first time last week and had a great experience. The baristas were very professional and friendly, plus the place is very welcoming with plenty of space for those wanting to get some work done or just relax out of the cold weather. Everything is reasonably priced and the food and drinks were great. I got the breakfast burrito which was much more filling than I even expected. I also had a donut which was amazing: very dense and crumbled in your mouth with every bite. Lastly was my chai latte which came out tasting perfect and at the perfect temperature to drink right away. I will definitely be back!

I'm not from the area but according to the reviews this was place is quickly becoming a major player in the Kansas coffee scene. I can safely say that if this place is not a major spot it should be. As a former barista, I enjoy finding coffee shops and trying tea or coffee (yes I prefer tea). I visited with my dad and as he does not like coffee and well I do, it was a bit ironic that I ordered the tea and he got coffee. They gave him a house blend with mostly milk (he insists every time 1/4 coffee and the rest milk). The house blend was smooth honestly and had a good mellow and overall flavor. The body seems pretty light but it's definitely a medium roast. I went for a London fog. It's chilly outside and honestly the decor of the shop makes my drink feel like the perfect choice. The shop has a more minimal decor sticking with black and white as its main color palette and some funky wallpaper as an accent wall in the back. They do have an event space downstairs which I did. It go to but overall this place is pretty big and beautifully decorated. There's many spots to hang out in or do homework or even just enjoy a drink by the window. Now let's talk service. They were super patient and kind. Not once getting annoyed at anything. These people are the cool kids who enjoy coffee and sharing life over a cup of coffee. They were all helpful and pleasant. This is the kind of coffee shop you want to go to. I am jealous back home doesn't have the coffee scene that Kansas surprisingly does. If you have the chance to come here or wondering if you should, do it!

Fabulous first experience at Post. Beautiful open and bright space featuring local artist's work. I had the chicory iced coffee which is on the spring menu. Delish. Also, the employees were suuuper friendly and hyped everyone up who walked through the door. Also ordered the sausage breakfast burrito with salsa. So yummy we forgot to take a photo.

okay cool kids! love the vibes in here--the ceiling, the tiling, the light fixtures, the wallpaper...chef's kiss. the peachy keen latte was so refreshing, and the other seasonal drink flavors were all similarly creative. great job to all involved.

Post is becoming a player in the KC coffee scene. With recently taking over the former Monarch Coffee spot on Broadway in midtown they now have five retail locations, which includes a roasting facility that pumps out wholesale beans and cold brew kegs for other retail establishments as well. The space on Broadway hasn't changed much since Monarch closed and why should it? Simple, open, and elegant-ish vibe harken big city, mid century soda fountain vibe. My barista was welcoming and more friendly than my past interactions from Monarch staff and my Tonic Espresso was cold, sharp and smooth. just what i wanted and needed to get the morning moving along.

It has been a while since I wanted to try this coffee shop! They have a fun selection of seasonal coffee! I tried "Tough Lover", it's strawberry basil with expresso. I thought it was pretty refreshing and also had some soda bubbles with it. It's great! Will go back for some other coffee!

Not very accommodating, I put in a TooGoodToGo order and I got one sandwich, you would think since the place is empty I would receive pastries or some sort of other food but I guess they don't want to give any up.

    Flat white

A visit that literally hit on all cylinders. One of the easiest decisions to get 5 stars in a while. Ordered a flat white with oat milk, my go to. It was creamy, luscious, intense, smokey, just a lovely pour and served at exactly the right temperature. My server was friendly, engaging and was making everyone feel welcome. The Wi-Fi is surprisingly quick, no drops, etc. so I spent a good hour sitting and catching up on a bit of work before my next appointment. A huge improvement over the previous coffee shop based here. Definitely very highly recommended.

Kelley the barista is awesome. I have been in several times but went in for a donut pop up and it was chaos in the best way. Their drinks are unique and the atmosphere is fun, elevated!

More than anything I enjoyed the vibe of this location! The wallpaper coupled with the color palette worked seamlessly and made my experience at this Post coffee even more memorable. Great place to stop for a quick bite on a busy day or chill and get some work done, they even have little books for those looking to have a meeting or something resembling a meeting. The possibilities here seem to be limitless not to mention I enjoyed their menu along with their seasonal additions. The pastries that I had were exceptional even though they were not warm (they do not have a way to reheat). The coffee was really good a. I will be returning!

I'm so happy that a good coffee shop took the place of the once iconic and thriving Monarch Coffee. The ambiance is still probably the best in the city, think old school mosaic tile, and a sort of Parisian vibe, which makes it super fun to stop in here and work or meet friends for a coffee. I still think the counter and ordering can be a bit confusing since you have to actually get to the counter to read what their offerings are - this is a trend at hip coffee shops these days, and I'm not a huge fan as then I have to take up time reading the menu when I get to the top of the line instead of preparing myself while waiting. Aside from that the coffee I had was great, and I enjoyed my time here. I remember Monarch having just the best specialty drinks so I'll have to come back to see how Post does with some of those unique offerings, but for now I'll say it's a super solid choice in the KC coffee scene and I'd 100% return.

My Winner of Best Restaurant Week Meal 2026…read more I hadn't been back to Westport Cafe for a few years but now I'm kicking myself because I've been missing out! I remembered this restaurant being one of my favorites in years past . For some reason it fell off my radar. Now it's shining like a beacon of fine dining French inspired cuisine in Westport, an entertainment district known for a more casual environment. If you are looking for a special date night meal, somewhere for a girls night or just for a treat yourself dinner I would highly suggest Westport Cafe. Let's talk about this incredible restaurant week menu. First was the deconstructed crab cake (which is always on the menu) I would order this dish again and again. The way it was presented was a work of art. All the components were complex and it was fun to eat. It has such an essence of crab without the heaviness deep fried crab cakes usually have. Seafood is special here because the Trout Almondine was one of the best fish dishes I've ever had. It begs to be added to the menu. The sauce was buttery and rich with nutty notes, the citrus cut through the richness so, it didn't seem heavy. The fish was cooked impeccably, I literally had no notes. They know what they're doing in that kitchen! And you know if I can rave about green beans then it was a perfectly executed dish. They had such a nice snap and vibrant green color, they were delicious dipped in that sauce. I cannot wait to go back for another solo splurge meal. This was my second dinner of the evening so I didn't make it to dessert at the restaurant but, I did take it to-go. I'm not a big dessert girl so, it wasn't very memorable however, the rest of the meal is engrained in my mind. I remember back a few years ago I used to go crazy for the muscles here so, I can't wait to sample them again. Also, just a note any menu that has rabbit on it just completes me. It's so hard to find nowadays in Kansas City and it's one of my favorite meats to indulge in. The menu rotates seasonally (as one should) so, I need to rush back in soon before the rabbit leaves. I would suggest you rush in too, I do not think you'll regret it.

The red sauce it came with was super good though and had a little bit of heat. I went there to read a book, and I did find that there weren't a lot of good 'lounge' seating options that I could see. The upstairs had an outdoor lounge chair that was cushioned but still not super comfortable. This place might be better to go and get work done at a table rather than sit down with a book and read for a couple hours, I still am looking forward to coming back but I do think with that in mind it will affect my decision on when I go though.
