I remember the first coffee shop I went to. It was called Coffee Time and it was a sad place, more of a donut shop. It had stained preformed plastic seats, a terrible smell of industrial ammonia with terrible brews with awful day olds. Nowadays, coffee shops have as much sophistication as fancy restaurants. Gusto is one of those spots. It is very spacious, with seating for several dozen people and even has a outdoor seating area that overlooks a very nice field. It has a nice fireplace as well as little nooks and crannies for you to sit in. I give it top grades for store designer. They did a great job. The coffee itself is very good. As someone who is trying to drink coffee black, I have only found a few places were I could do it. However, while the coffee was good enough to drink on it's own, the brew itself was mild and inoffensive, even though I drank the bold Brazillian. The snack I had was called a scone, but it wasn't. It has the taste of a cookie, or those "cookie pizzas" that you see at bake sales. However, no matter, it was good. The one thing secret that you might want to try out is that on Weekdays, coffees are only $0.99 after noon, so my bill for both only came out to $3.09 tax included! I would suggest this place if you aren't too discerning about the brew and just want to get a good cup of coffee. It is worth coming to.

We just love this place! This is my neighborhood coffee shop. The food here is excellent and so is the coffee. The service is outstanding, and the staff is always kind. It's clean and nice and you never have to worry about a thing here. It kind of feels like you're in your house. Every day after 3 PM, you can get a cup of coffee for one dollar which I do frequently because that's when the afternoon sleepies hit. Recently, I brought my wife here and she had a mango smoothie that may have changed my life. It was outstanding! I'm a regular here and I love it!

I come here every once in a while. It can be nice during down times whether you want to work or study. The coffee is decent, with the freshest brew in the morning, although they do try to make fresh brewed coffee throughout the day, and you can get your own refills. As far as noise level, it can be challenging when this place gets crowded. Unfortunately, the most recent times I've visited they've played some religious music, whereas in the past it's been subtle and not as frequent. I am sure it will be worse as the holidays approach. Today, I was disappointed to find that they lacked a full case of baked goods. So, I don't know what happened to their usual supply. I ordered a croissant bacon, egg and cheese, and forgot how the last time the bacon was burnt, and should have ordered something else because, again, the bacon was like bacon jerky or something hard. The one consistent thing I've found is how this place always has nice and very professional staff to keep the place running smoothly.

Still exceptional. Service and ambiance is 10/10. Sundays are quieter and laid back. Lots of GF options. Lunch served all day too.

How do I keep forgetting to rate this place? It's such a great local hangout spot. Perfect for sitting alone in a comfy chair or meeting up with a few friends on the patio or even a business coffee meeting. As a tea lover they have an amazing selection of "fogs" and my favorite happens to be the"Canadian fog"... It has a hint of maple (naturally!) The cold drink fridge has simpler options like juices, sida and chocolate milk so if you're here for a sandwich (breakfast or lunch) you've options! Christopher Elbow chocolates and a good selection of pastries too. What's not to love? They even sell bowties and earrings.

This place has changed since my last visit. The restrooms are still clean, and the door locks are more sturdy. The little table I liked to sit at and chart has become a child's play area/Lego table. The menu has expanded and the food selections are greater. I love that they have cheesecake! Yum! Brewed coffee is a self service bar of single beans in three roast strengths. I am enjoying Nicaraguan dark. They also had a holiday blend, which I believe is flavored. It's right near Longview community College so it has a college vibe.

The space is large, bright and well decorated with plenty of seating - chairs, benches, couches, lounge seats. Some of the seating is sectioned out well and would make for a cozy conversation or study spot. Their pastry options were extensive and unique, both sweet and savory options. I'll have to try one on my next trip. Today, I ordered a pistachio latte that had some pretty excellent foam. They use Monin syrups, which is my preference (second to house made syrups, of course).

I saw that it was a newly opened coffee shop, and I had to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did! I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte with both hazelnut and pistachio syrups, alongside their chicken and cheese bake. The bake is a warm, doughy pocket stuffed with shredded chicken and cheese. It was very flavorful and very filling. I would've loved it even more if it were piping hot instead of just warmed, but it still got the job done! As for the drink-- The pistachio flavor definitely overpowered the hazelnut flavor, but since I love pistachios, I didn't mind it as much as I would typically. Overall, Geo's Café is a lovely new spot with a great selection of small bites and a very spacious, yet quiet atmosphere that's perfect for anyone looking to work or study. I highly recommend giving it a visit!

Whistle Stop Coffee Shop is a fantastic coffee shop on Main Street in Lee's Summit…read more I met a friend there this morning for coffee, but I was able to order a French Vanilla pour over. The beans were ground fresh for me. I love French Vanilla coffee, but it's not my wife's favorite. So it was nice to be able to get a cup and enjoy it. I also ordered biscuits and gravy and a glass of milk, which were very tasty. I brought my wife home a cinnamon roll which she enjoyed. She said it was good. The front of the house is pretty bustling and lively. At the back of the restaurant, there's a quieter room and outdoor dining on the patio. I will definitely be returning to this location. Special shout out to the staff, who were magnificent.

It's a pretty downtown location. The decor is cozy and nicely decked out for Christmas. - chairs. They spent a little extra on padded leather to save our butts. - service. They're quick and polite. - cleanliness. Now for the less good: - layout. Everything feels tight. It's prettier than it is practical. - drink quality. My daughter found her spiced chai (pictured) overly sweet. And if you look at the pic, you'll notice that they gave her basically 2/3 of a cup. That pic was taken before she took a single sip (yes, I know the straw I used to show the amount looks used; I did use it to search for a tea bag in my tea fog. See below!). My cinnamon/butterscotch tea fog was, to put it politely, unimpressive. I left it steeping at least 15 minutes because it was way too hot to drink. And then I had to get a straw to search for tea bags, because it tasted like hot foamy water and I was convinced they'd forgotten to put the tea bags in. Well, they hadn't. There was one tea bag. My standard of comparison is Gusto over by Longview, which makes the best tea fogs in town. They use two tea bags and it tastes like heaven. Whatever they served me at Whistle Stop tasted like perfumed water. So overall, I give it a 3/5. Points for location and decor and nice chairs. But the main attraction should be the drinks, and they were both kinda terrible. And there's just no excuse for serving someone 2/3 of a cup when we're paying $6 for a small drink.
