We stopped into this Crows location and liked this location a lot. The baristas were friendly and the service was quick. The lattes were good and a good variety of seating. The cafe is casual and relaxing with an excellent playlist! The bathroom needed a bit of a cleaning but overall it was great.

Food was YUM! We both got bacon breakfast burritos and they were great. Both salsas were the perfect addition too. I got an iced cinnamon honey latte - it was also very good! Would come back here!

I always enjoy Crow's well enough, and found myself in the area to change it up from the south Plaza location. The design + vibe + staff here are all great. I just got a black coffee and have to say, it was...lacking? I noticed they had signs for Post Coffee and used to be Messenger so maybe there was a change. Either way, it sort of tasted like hot water. A bit bummed because coffee has gotten so damn expensive that I hope it hits it out of the park when I do venture out. Ordered my wife a chai latte with oatmilk and she said it was really good. That's always a staple at Crow's IMO. Good spot and good atmosphere, and usually good coffee to tie it all together.

An easy coffee spot to get to with ample parking across the street! Ordered their cold brew with homemade orange creamsicle syrup and a lemon poppyseed scone (yum!). Cold brew was the right kind of strong and pastries are baked in house every morning- quiche and burritos are also available! Service was very friendly, amble seating for working and meeting friends.

the chorizo burrito was a great start to my day, i always enjoy a nice warm white chocolate mocha! service was good, but i wish they would put your coffee in a mug if they knew you were staying...im sure i could've asked but just something i wish coffee places would ask! very nice inside and love the sliding doors they have!

Popped into Crows Coffee in Waldo for an afternoon iced latte - it did not disappoint! Since the weather was nice, the windows were open leading out onto the patio area. This is a great spot to work remote, catch up on your current book of choice, or meet up with friends. The service was friendly and quick. I took my coffee to-go, but I'll be back for an afternoon on the patio!

I love this spot! Coffee is amazing, pastries are fresh and the food is great for a quick bite!

Its Gilmore Girls season which means I need an equivalent to a "Luke's" for my morning coffee walks. Thankfully, the neighborhood of Waldo gives Stars Hallow vibes already. I took a brisk little fall walk, watched the sunrise, and ventured into the open doors of Crows Coffee. The aesthetic was everything you hope for in a local coffee shop. They had the windows lifted, plaza lights overhead shining, and the sweet smell of espresso stirring to complete the ambiance. What I ordered: while there was a plethora of pastries and coffee flavorings. I went with my tried and true...the sugar-free latte with almond milk. Believe it or not, this simple order will immediately tell me if I'm going to be a repeat visitor or not. Crows coffee passed the test! You could taste the warm, chocolatey notes of their coffee with the steamed milk giving it the perfect touch of froth. I will be back soon and will hopefully get a chance to try their seasonal flavors and one of the yummy looking muffins! I think this would be a great place to post up with a laptop and quietly get work done!

Caffeine Queen Palace Crows Coffee I used to be a Waldo native before a recent move to the mid-plaza area and Crows brought back nostalgic memories of visiting the Crows located on UMKC campus as well as, The Coffee Girls which used to occupy this Crows location. I am in love with the open air concept that Crows has here in Waldo as opposed to its original UMKC outpost, on a warm day you can't beat the natural sunlight the airy design Crows provides but, the size of the establishment makes it cozy and a quiet workspace. I used to frequent this space, now Crows, before when it was Coffee Girls and have always found the quiet spot warm, inviting, and convenient- with ample parking able to be found during the daytime. I also used to be a regular at the first outpost of Crows Coffee pretty much on UMKC campus and found myself really enjoying the later addition of beer and wine being served, sorry no alcohol at the Waldo Crows however, it doesn't need it. This Crows Coffee benefits instead from an open air concept that allows you natural breeze and sunlight on a balmy day as well as modern decor that renders a quiet serene workspace. I appreciate when a coffee spot includes a variety of dairy milk substitutes that are not just soy and Crows does just this. I am partial to to the neutral as opposed to nutty flavor oat milk brings to my go-to summer staple a spicy iced chai. There is also a london fog tea latte on the menu something I highly appreciate being advertised, though most java joints can and should be able to execute on for you, Crows version is up there with my all time favorite fog from Kaldis. Stop by this airy outpost of a KC original coffee shop if you are trying to avoid the hustle and bustle of city campus life and instead seek solace in the newer suburban location of Crows where the staff is friendly, not pushy or rushed, and the drinks are handcrafted with care and gusto.

A few months ago my sister and I hosted a baby shower for our other sister and after looking around an options we decided to go with McLains. It was a smaller group, and we were doing a brunch theme, and our sister LOVES sweets. That paired with our desire to support local, and our shared love of McLains, this was just the most obvious choice. We ended up ordering a cake and first of all I have to say their cake flavor choices are insane - I think we settled on a chocolate cake with peanut butter filling (YUM), but I don't think you can go wrong here. We also ordered one of their pre-set pastry bundles for pick up and honestly everything was wonderful. I think I placed the order about a week out and it was ready when I came to pick it up. What pushed this experience into five star category for me? Just the friendliness of the staff, the serving tools they send you home with, and how thoughtful everyone was. The food was also really just exactly what we needed and it was so good there were hardly any leftovers, I think the kids cleared us out by lunch! At any rate, if you're on the hunt for a great spot to support for your next brunch event consider McLains - they won't let you down!

We were welcomed with a brief overview of the company and treated to a sparkling matcha limeade on the patio. Following this we were treated to a fantastic sandwich and beverage pairing. The diced chicken was marinated in Coca Cola and cold brew then served on toasted fresh made bread with house made bbq sauce and veggies. Then paired with a cold brew mixed with Coca-Cola and topped with a cherry-vanilla cold top. Phenomenal. Just as incredible was the bakery case. After a tough decision making process, I took home a cookie, Lemon Goat Cheesecake, and blueberry pop-tart. The cheesecake and poptart were best I've ever had in each category and the cookie that I didn't even get a taste of, was declared "the best damn cookie I've ever had" by my wife. The biscuit sandwich was oozing with cheese and sauce so I ended up cutting into it with a fork and knife. The pear compote had an apple pie filling vibe to it, which was almost too sweet for me even though it went well with the salty smoked ham. The nutty bitterness from the fontina added a little bit too much contrast for me. This would be a good choice for people who like sweet and salty things. Overall, each component was tasty, but this particular sandwich wasn't exactly my preferred taste! The oat milk latte was good! Nice and foamy with a good amount of bitterness from the espresso. I was curious about their huge pastry case and would love to try those in the future.

I met a friend here and the staff were all so friendly and fun! I thought for sure this would be my new coffeeshop hang, especially for journaling or a lazy Sunday with my husband and the crossword. But by the time I left (90 minutes later), I had changed my mind. It was so ridiculously loud! The noise went way beyond the usual coffeeshop sounds of grinding beans, steam from the espresso machine, and the chatter of customers (which are all expected) . At one point, and I'm not exaggerating, it sounded like an airplane was landing inside the coffeeshop. A horrible, continuous, incredibly loud sound like a jet engine .... And it just wouldn't stop! It went on for several, several minutes. At one point my friend paused our conversation and said "My God, what is that?" It ruined our coffee date and made the experience so unpleasant that we just wrapped up our time together and left. To add insult to injury, when we got outside a car alarm was blaring. That is not Hattie's fault, of course, but it didn't change my impression that this is the loudest coffeeshop on earth. I've been to hundreds of coffeeshops, and I've never experienced a prolonged, wretched, grinding-engine sound like this before. I have no idea what it was. It was so bizarre. I had an Arnold Palmer and breakfast sandwich. The lemonade was too tart, but I could have added more sugar so that's not their fault. The sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich was meh, but the pastries looked great (although I didn't have one). Since the staff is wonderful and it is a convenient spot for me, I will go back on a nice day and try the patio. But I can't imagine I will ever try sitting inside again. The search of the perfect coffeeshop continues!
