Though it's been a good handful of years since then I still miss Teavana dearly. Giraffe Coffee was a fun experience and Angel, the lovely person working the shop was such a delight. Very sweet and engaging. ^__^ She prepared my small frozen blended coffee, which I had with almond milk & hazelnut syrup. Honestly, the coffee was WAY too sweet for my personal preference, but of course I still had a nice time there. The boost of energy was why I did it! It certainly provided that and a mild tummy ache afterward lol.. Next time I'll have to try one of their teas! My only reason for swinging by the mall as soon as I got off work was to do some product exchanges at another business there, which was successful. Never hurts trying someth'n new and all! Again, next time I'm trying one of their teas. It's still really weird for me knowing Teavana isn't there anymore, and honestly I don't think I'll ever be "used" to it. But I'll forever associate that business spot with them as time passes.

The wait turned out to be worth it. I arrived just after they opened and stepped into a space that's eclectic, funky and a little random in the best way, complete with bookcases of games that gives the place its own personality. My cortado was the epitome of perfection, rich and balanced, and because it took a moment to prepare, I was handed a free chocolate chip cookie. That little surprise absolutely blew my ketosis but I didn't regret it for a second. I stayed for two hours, settling in and enjoying the atmosphere with their wifi before heading out to explore Independence. Coffee Elsewhere is one of those neat little spots that feels genuinely local, the kind of place that does coffee right and doesn't try to be anything other than itself.
