Small Iced Latte and Courage Cookie
    Carla G.

Scooter's are a regional chain and this Scooter's is the first Scooter's I ever went to. They have consistently good lattes. My favorite menu item is the Courage Cookie, which they roll out every October for Breast Cancer Awareness month. It is a giant Frosted Sugar Cookie. Worth ever one of those 560 calories! They are primary Drive Thrus so not a true Coffee Shop, but for a road warrior who works in a Carffice, it is good to know I can get a friendly batista to make me a latte, not only at this store but now all over the KC Metro. I've also been to the stores in Levenworth and Omaha. Their phone app and rewards program are good and easy to use. I save those points for one of the few sweet coffee drinks I actually like, their blended Carmelicious. I get mine with an extra shot of espresso.

This cute little drive through was perfect. I needed coffee and I could only find Starbucks and fast food coffee this place was super tiny but the coffee and the staff had a lot of personality. I ordered a blended cappuccino with extra shots. It was really fast and the young lady was so friendly and had a big smile. Honestly this was one of the few places that had quick friendly service. Sad to say... most ppl that I met in this city, weren't very nice and the shops were dirty. This place is the total opposite! Cute, clean and top notch service with a south smile!

The restaurant is easily accessible and there is plenty of parking. Rae's is located in a strip mall and there appeared to be significant amount of traffic. I ordered a side pancake and the waitress gave me a look. She said "Honey, these are big!" I thanked her for the warning and told her I loved leftovers. lol The food was great and the pancakes were huge. Very satisfying and comforting food. Hit the spot on a cold January day. There is a homey feel to the restaurant and the manager waits tables!! Mr. G. Reported an issue with the men's restroom and it was attended to immediately. Definite going back when I want Biscuits and Gravy.

It used to be nestled inside the Colonial Gardens nursery and market off 7 hwy and Wyatt streets in Blue Springs, MO. The signage was sparse, so it was difficult to find... But most people did! And it was so worth the adventure. On our original visit we ordered the Belgian Waffle with fresh fruit. It was light and fluffy on the inside and golden crispy on the outside. The fruit was perfectly ripe and naturally sweet. We also shared a half order of biscuits and gravy. Obviously made from scratch. A warm fluffy and moist biscuit under a generous serving of rich and creamy sausage forward gravy. I couldn't stop eating it I ordered their ham and cheese florentine frittata, which was filled with yummy ingredients and had a creamy custard layer on the top. It was absolutely mouthwatering! They're generous in their portion sizes there. The ambiance was pleasant and cozy. With lots of windows that afforded the best views of the arboretum. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We continued to frequent this place, even after they relocated onto Main Street at the square. They are able to accommodate more guests than before, and offer more dishes and pastries. They put out a heck of a breakfast! You really must try their hospitality. Always friendly, always kind. The actual address for their current location is now 1101 W Main St, (Suite A) Blue Springs, MO 64015. If interested, they are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We were seated right away as a party of 8, which was great for a larger group. Unfortunately, the experience this time was really slow when it came to food service. Our food took about 45 minutes to arrive, and we noticed smaller tables that were seated after us received their meals, ate, and left before we even got ours. Our server also walked past our table several times without giving any updates, which was frustrating while waiting. We typically go to the Liberty location because we've had better experiences there. This visit just wasn't the best, but we do like the overall vibe of the restaurant and hope service improves at this location.

It seemed to be placed under a heat lamp until the meat was dried out, than slathed with brown gravy just before serving. I received one carrot, a piece of potato and mashed potatoes drowned in brown gravy. Edible, but not worth what we were charged. For me, the highlight was going to be Apple Cobbler a la Mode. The presentation was spectacular, but the menu clearly stated that this was baked in their kitchen. I took one spoonful and it was still partially frozen. I sent it back, and was told it would be put back in the oven, but it was back in two minutes, and the plate was piping hot. I asked if went back into the oven, and was told it was put into a microwave oven. It was at best luke warm, so I ate the ice cream and left the entire cobbler, less two small spoonfuls, on the table. I was offered a to go box, which I refused. I was there with my sons, who didn't want me to make a scene. Had I been there by myself, I would have had a long, difficult conversation with the manager. I may go back for breakfast (which is served all day), but not for lunch or dinner. I would have gotten the same level of food if I bought a Healthy Choice frozen dinner.

If yours tasted bland, maybe you missed that this place leans into fresh ingredients over drowning everything in sauces. Not every burger needs mayo or mustard; some let the beef and toppings speak for themselves. As for the soggy bottom bun yes, fresh veggies release moisture. That happens in seconds anywhere if you don't eat quickly. But calling the whole experience "meh" while admitting you're going back for breakfast? That tells me the place clearly has redeeming qualities. You even said burger preferences are subjective, yet your review reads like an objective takedown. Bottom line: If you want a greasy, sauce slathered chain burger, go to Five Guys. If you want a solid, no-frills non chain burger with good service and plenty of seating (as you noted), this place delivers. And clearly, you agree it's worth a second visit.

So we won't come here again for that. Burger preferences are subjective, so just because it wasn't for us doesn't mean you can't try for yourself. We do plan to go back to try the breakfast items though.

I spent several years frequently eating breakfast at Dagwood's on Southwest traffic way when I was working over there in the late 90's and early 00's. I just moved into the area, and was delighted to find that a Dagwood's had opened up here a year ago. I was worried it would not live up to the memories of that little cafe, but it does, with more seating and a casual and friendly atmosphere. Walking back through all my old favorites, I have been pleasantly delighted so far! If I had a complaint... they don't have heavy cream for the coffee (but few places do). Thats a me problem everywhere I go. And I do have to say that the cinnamon roll is nothing to gush over. Maybe even a little dry. Otherwise, this is an immediate staple for myself and my family. It feels warm and comfortable and just a great place to meet for breakfast/brunch any day except Monday!

My plate looked like a kid's meal, and I left hungry. Not what I expect when paying adult prices. Had to ask for bread yes, you read that right. They don't even bring toast with breakfast unless you beg for it. Basic diner fail. Attentive service? The staff was too busy chatting to notice empty coffee cups or check on food quality. And here's the saddest part: I'd rather go to IHOP and get the wrong order than come back here. At least IHOP fixes it without attitude, and you actually get enough food. I want to support local businesses. But not ones that serve overcooked, overpriced scraps and can't even remember to bring bread. This place didn't replace the old favorite it just lowered the bar.
