Flat white
Jason J.

Good coffee with friendly faces. I stop by here a few days a week when I have to go into the office and get a flat white. My wife will tell you that I am a coffee snob, but really I just like what I like and I like this place. The coffee shop is pretty busy in the morning but it's pretty spacious inside and there is outside seating when the weather is good. I like that it's low key and comfortable. They serve messenger coffee here and it happens to be one of my favorite local brands. The service is friendly and I always see the same people which for me is a good sign. They can do some pretty good latte art. Take a look at the picture. They have a small selection of pastries and a menu for sandwiches and the like. I have bought some danishes for my mom a couple times and she scarfs 'em down so they must be good. I haven't eaten any of the sandwiches but they look fine when folks get them. I come here for coffee. If you're in mission and you want a cup or need a place to meet a friend consider urban prairie.

I asked google maps where I could find a coffee shop between the hotel and my meeting spot, and it sent me here - what a great choice! Bright sunny spot with a side room for meetings, plenty of diagonal parking on both sides of the street. They have happy plants in the windows, treats and of course coffee. The winter me y had some fun flavor combinations, one of which I enjoyed on ice - and my request for half sweet was cheerily accommodated. I've marked this coffee shop on my favorites list for the next time I'm in town

absolutely love this coffee shop! Their cold brew is exceptional -- and I'm quite picky when it comes to coffee. They also offer a great variety of pastries, including gluten-free options. I used to drive all the way downtown just for their gluten-free blueberry muffins, so I'm thrilled to find them here now. I hope they add pistachio and more gluten-free varieties in the future. The patio area is lovely and dog-friendly, perfect for relaxing outside. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but I've always been able to find a spot.

Urban prairie coffee is such a gem coffee shop. We decided to stop by for some coffee during our morning walk and we weren't disappointed. There was a line but it went by quickly! We got the French toast latte and the Mr Darcy from their spring menu. Their spring menu had various fun coffee options with the French toast latte being one of their top sellers. We also got some plain and chocolate filled croissants. Both drinks and croissants were absolutely delish. I love how it is connected to a game store. Both businesses are family owned. So you can get your coffee and walk right next door to play some board/card games. The baristas were so friendly, I forgot to tell them oat milk since I'm lactose intolerant and they were able to switch it for me. I'll definitely be back to try out new latte flavors.

I was next door at Sandhills Brewery and noticed a lot of foot traffic at this business. People going in and out with coffees and pastries so I had to check it out. The space is pretty good sized. I believe they are associated with a gaming store and there were three different rooms with the middle being where you could order food and drinks. I accidentally came in through a different door and into a room where people had various board games set up. I didn't get any coffee because of the time of day when I visited. But if it had been earlier, I would have ordered something from their list. They also have a few sandwiches and they looked pretty good. I went with a couple of pastries. The cranberry orange muffin was good. I do wish that the cranberry was more throughout the muffin rather than just the top but it was still tasty and I'd def opt for one in the future. The winner for me was the cherry danish. The pastry was super flaky and the filling was fruity and delicious. I'll definitely return to try more things!

LOVE visiting Urban Prairie for coffee, snacks, working, or connecting with folks! UP brews delicious Messenger coffee, and I love my usual cold brew with a splash of oat. I've also had the avocado toast and protein balls, both were solid, but the real standout here is the coffee. The main coffee shop is connected to the business next door and another large seating area, as well as tables outside, so there are ample space and seats available, even though they are typically very busy. Service is always quick and friendly despite the crowds. Definitely visit and/or make this your regular coffee place!

What I believe is a watercolor painting of the restaurant from outside. Really cute!!

I've been here a few times this year and so far I have never been disappointed. The baristas are super friendly, the atmosphere is so comforting, and the coffee and pastries are excellent. I love their wide range of seasonal drinks, too! The only downside for some is the drinks and food may be a slight bit on the pricier side, but I expected that as it's more than made up for by everything else. I also love the local art displays, but I'm an artist so I'm a bit biased there. I'm definitely coming back!

From the outside the place looks really small. once you enter inside you find that they are connected to the shop next door and it is actually 3 different rooms. We sat toward the front door and the temperature was warm but not overly warm for being 20 degrees outside. The noise level inside was on the quiet side. The drinks were good flavor, they also carried energy drinks. In the back they had board games that you could play if you wanted as well.

This is an update since going a variety of times. The baristas are not very welcoming the last several times upon visiting. I may visit twice a month and it's been like this lately, to other customers as well. The sugar free syrups are terrible the lattes taste weaker. Probably going to pass from now on and frequent cafes that are more consistent in their service and quality. The atmosphere is okay but slightly cramped in the front area.

Mr Darcy, French Toast Latte

Stumbled on spot when trying to find some good coffee and it did not disappoint. I had the Mr. Darcy which is perfect for anyone that doesn't like sweet coffee and the French toast latte was delicious too! The service was great and it's tied in with a card shop you can explore while waiting for your food/coffee. It can get busy so keep that in mind. Look forward to checking it out next time I'm in town. Keep up the great work!

Frosted Ginger latte

Quick bites, good coffee and the perfect meet up spot. Loved the Frosted Ginger Latte. Bold flavor with a hint of sweetness. Paired with the avocado toast. Great choice of grain bread and the everything seasoning on it . Located on Johnson Dr surrounded by local shops and across from where Mission Market is in the summer. Open space with plenty of tables making it a great meet up spot.

Seems pretty simple.

I am a total catch for a coffee spot and if it's a local business, then feel free to save me a seat. Same thing probably goes for local craft beer, but let me refocus. Urban Prairie Coffee, or UPC, might be in the perfect spot. Snuggled into a slot on the north side of old downtown Mission, you might miss it if you aren't looking. But when you find it, WHAM!, you know. Plenty of sidewalk space to enjoy your coffee outdoors, and (now) plenty of indoor space as well should you need a table & WiFi. UPC has shared space with the games store just next door, but now the space has expanded to the other side with extras tables & art! And then there's coffee (and baked goodies!) UPC starts with a great base roast and builds from there with drinks of all kinds. Friendly, skilled baristas make everything on demand and to order while serving up fabulous pastries, breakfast plates, and a smattering of sandwiches. This visit had us sharing cinnamon rolls & cheese danish and neither lasted long - way too yummy! A 'dirty' chai, which is just a sensational chai with an espresso shot or two, is one of their off-menu specialities, and iced or warm this drink is spot on! Prices are competitive with the chains, if not better (take that, Seattle!) and your experience is virtually guaranteed to be better. Hours run from just early enough (7 AM) to at least 5:00 daily, extended to 7 PM Wed-Fri. Parking is on the street, old school style, but generally available. The WiFi is robust, the space is always getting better, the menu has just the right breadth, and the coffee is outstanding. Definitely one of the better coffee spots in northern JoCo!

I met a friend here and the staff were all so friendly and fun! I thought for sure this would be my new coffeeshop hang, especially for journaling or a lazy Sunday with my husband and the crossword. But by the time I left (90 minutes later), I had changed my mind. It was so ridiculously loud! The noise went way beyond the usual coffeeshop sounds of grinding beans, steam from the espresso machine, and the chatter of customers (which are all expected) . At one point, and I'm not exaggerating, it sounded like an airplane was landing inside the coffeeshop. A horrible, continuous, incredibly loud sound like a jet engine .... And it just wouldn't stop! It went on for several, several minutes. At one point my friend paused our conversation and said "My God, what is that?" It ruined our coffee date and made the experience so unpleasant that we just wrapped up our time together and left. To add insult to injury, when we got outside a car alarm was blaring. That is not Hattie's fault, of course, but it didn't change my impression that this is the loudest coffeeshop on earth. I've been to hundreds of coffeeshops, and I've never experienced a prolonged, wretched, grinding-engine sound like this before. I have no idea what it was. It was so bizarre. I had an Arnold Palmer and breakfast sandwich. The lemonade was too tart, but I could have added more sugar so that's not their fault. The sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich was meh, but the pastries looked great (although I didn't have one). Since the staff is wonderful and it is a convenient spot for me, I will go back on a nice day and try the patio. But I can't imagine I will ever try sitting inside again. The search of the perfect coffeeshop continues!

It was very flavorful and very filling. I would've loved it even more if it were piping hot instead of just warmed, but it still got the job done! As for the drink-- The pistachio flavor definitely overpowered the hazelnut flavor, but since I love pistachios, I didn't mind it as much as I would typically. They probably have my favorite Americano in the city, though it could be a bit stronger. One thing I would like to point out is how good their scones are, I dream about their rosemary parmesan variety at least once a day. I'm not sure if those are made in house or if they source them from somewhere, but either way they are very good and I love to snag one when I stop by to grab a cup. All the barista's are very nice and easy to talk to, and the interior of the location is very welcoming and cozy. I've started making it a Sunday tradition to go in and read from one of their lounging chairs for a couple of hours while having a bite to eat and a few cups of coffee, it's a new favorite place for me. Today was my first day using a cane after weeks of weaning myself off of crutches and I was moving pretty slow. As I approached the counter I was looking for a seasonal drink menu to see what unique beverage could kick-start my afternoon. I didn't see one anywhere and asked if they had any seasonal offerings from the barista. She looked puzzled and annoyed and said "here is our syrup list". I stated that I was looking for more of a seasonal drink menu or featured beverages not on the regular menu that most every coffee house offers. In an exasperated tone, she turned around and pointed at the main menu board with all the basics and replied; "This is what we serve". Wow! I politely ordered my go-to cortado for here and left a tip. I then hobbled over to the nearest table to the pick-up counter and waited. A few minutes later the same barista brought the drink to the counter, looked at me an entire 4 feet away and shouted "cortado" and walked away. Wow again! If I was in the business of customer service and receiving tips I would be damn sure to take the beverage to the customer when they're 48 inches away and the shop wasn't busy; regardless of customer mobility issues. I have never asked for a tip back, but I sure felt like it at that moment. My Cortado was tasty, but not enough to remove the foul taste in my mouth from blatant customer disrespect. In my over 200 coffee shop reviews, this is my first time giving such a low score. Adios Crow's.

Maybe it's the former barista in me, but I just never know what I'm gonna walk into. I was bit extra hesitant as I knew from reading reviews that this place was a bit off the beaten path, and as I routed myself there and found my car meandering through a suburban office parking lot maze I became even more nervous about my plan to work from here. All of that being said, once I got close to the coffeeshop itself I saw a sign clearly visible from the lot which was my first breath of relief. The signage is spectacular for a fairly hidden spot. Yes, you need to know it's here, but you will find it rest assured! If you don't see the sign keep hunting. The nice thing about it being in an office park is that there is ample parking.
