UPDATE 8/10/2022- We received a call from someone on the management team and were informed that they had reviewed the situation and the employee in question would have to find another place of employment since this was not the first incident. It was definitely a disappointing experience but we appreciate the followup from management. Next time we are in the Daytona Beach area we will give it another try. ‐---‐----------------‐----‐---- The worst customer service experience ever. My husband and I went in for a late breakfast and noticed a large golden retriever inside at the hostess stand with a young lady. I asked the hostess who sat us if dogs were allowed in the restaurant. She said, "yes, service animals". I said, "oh, ok". It was not big deal. I dont live in FL so I was just curious. Apparently the hostess went in and told the young lady that i asked about her dog being in the restaurant. The young lady with the dog (Malina) then felt the need to come outside to our table where we were sitting to let us know that she works there and yes her dog could be in there anytime he wanted. She was apparently off duty and just stopped by the restaurant with her dog. My husband and i were shocked when she came out to address us so rudely and unnecessarily. She walked back in the restaurant and I got up to ask to speak to the manager and as the employee with the dog (Malina) was coming out, she told me to get out of her face and continued to accost me about her dog. I was never even close to her as she told me to get outnof her face. We asked to speak to the Manger (Ben) but was told that he was working the grill and could not come out to speak to us so we spoke to another lower level manager (Beth) who sincerely apologized, but offered no indication of how the situation would be addressed with the employee. This was our first time at First Watch in Daytona and it was a terrible experience. We were there for literally 5 minutes when all this happened and ended up walking out without ordering. Will never go back and will advise our family member who live in Daytona to do the same. read more

Everything was excellent! From the time we walked in until we left. Food, service, and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. I had the Morning Glory drink and the Floridian French Toast and my husband had the Works omelette. We also had the Millon Dollar Bacon to share which was heavenly. Wow what a find, we were attending The Daytona 500 and wanted more than track food for breakfast, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated very quickly. We ordered our food and drinks, The Bloody Mary was amazing, so fresh and vibrant. I had The Traditional and it may have been one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, my wife had a lemon and ricotta pancake and loved it also. I came here for "Brunch" with my Mom around 11:30-Noon and the place was packed. I called ahead of time to see if they made reservations, and they told me that they don't but that they have an app you can download on your phone and put yourself on the waiting list. So I did just that and it was about a 30-40 minute wait around this time. The place was certainly busy and our waitress was not able to come to us right away, but another waiter was kind to replace her while she was "catching up."' We were offered samples of the juices which was very nice of them. It took some time to get them but overall pleasantly surprised with how good they were. Once we were seated, we ordered right away since we were very hungry and knew what we wanted at that point. The wait to get the food felt like an eternity especially when you are starving. It seemed like everyone's food was coming out but ours. Our food arrived finally after an hour (we were a party of two btw). I understand they were VERY busy but unfortunately my eggs benedict was VERY undercooked. The white was slimy and was just inedible...completely raw. I was so hungry but I had to send it back. They were very nice to give me some fruit while I waited for my meal again which took about another 20-25 minutes. This time instead of being raw...it was overcooked. The egg was now a hard boil egg. How hard is it to make a poach egg?! They were very apologetic. And at this point I didn't care. I ate the food and left the hard yolks for them to take back. Potatoes were delicious. Greens were not dressed enough unfortunately. Although I was very disappointed with the food, the waitress was very sweet and apologetic. The owner came over and apologized, and comped BOTH my meal and my mom's which honestly they did not have to do. They could have just comped mine but they gave us the whole brunch on the house. I guess I will have to come back and give them another chance (maybe during a less busy time, or when the whole hype of a first watch in the neighborhood calms down). So really the 2 stars is mostly for the long wait, not so good food and may I say small portion and for the price I would say is not "right." Not enough salmon given in my opinion. Today I did the Elevated Egg sandwich - I almost text slapped my mama because of how good it was. Also drank some in house juice concoction called "Morning Meditation". I felt like a new person afterwards. Last but nowhere near least I had the sweet energetic, smiley warm friendly waitress named "Ashley". Suggestion!!!!!!!! I stayed at the Marriott down the street and they didn't have ANY suggestions when I asked about a good breakfast spot near. Luckily patrons like myself had this place at the top of Yelp. GET ADVERTISING TO LOCAL HOTELS!!!!!! Only negative which didn't affect my rating at all, it WILL be busy here and the wait can get up to 45 mins. Utilize the ability to add to the waitlist online. This place was amazing! 100x better than the one in Port Orange (gave us dirty dishes and horrible service- check out their review for more info)! As soon as we walked in Friday around noon we were greeted with smiling friendly faces and seated with little wait. Our waitress brought out water with our coffee, which we always had to ask for at the PO location so it was nice that we didn't have to even mention it. The food was delicious we got the avocado toast and healthy turkey breakfast. I can't remember our waitress' name but she was amazing, and so was the guy at the check out counter. I have been to many First Watch restaurants in Florida since living here for over 35 years. Every location serves outstanding fresh food and has excellent service. I also look at the health department inspection reports. Yes they have an occasional problem but they are minor. Some are ones that they could probably find in my kitchen if they inspected at the right time. They are expanding at a rapid pace yet they maintain the same consistency of fresh food and service. The employees seem to be happy and feel like the company treats them well. read more

I chose first watch for the simple reason is that I have been to the one In Jupiter and enjoy the ambiance there. I went there to see a friend I haven't seen in a long time so the conversations were long however every time we would start talking the server would interrupt to see if we were ready to order at least 4-5 times. When we finally did order and our food arrived still interruptions occurred. And when the server wasn't getting anywhere she sent over the hostess which was just as annoying. The food was not as well prepared as the one In Jupiter and not as enjoyable. As far as ambiance there really wasn't any. It disturbed me and my friend so much so that we will not be visiting them again. Cracker Barrel or Denny's will be the next choice. read more

If you've been to First watch Port Orange and had a poor experience like most people I know, don't rule out this place because it shares the same name. This location is like a pea in a completely different pod. The service here is EXCELLENT. The food is amazing. Every time I come here I'm impressed even more. Everything about this location is much much better, not limited to the fact that this is said after a couple of mimosas because they have a bar at this location. The atmosphere is so much better. Matt is my favorite server and he remembers us every time we go and even if we don't sit with him, he'll still pop by to see how we are. As a younger foodie this doesn't happen much, people brush over us usually. I love this place and go here more often than I'd like to admit. read more

I came here today and I'm a regular. The manager was at the front and offered me a table outside which we accepted. As we were walking towards the table another waitress sat down apparently an inside guest who wanted to switch to outside. We watched in confusion and told the manager who told us we can get in the wait line and there was a miscommunication between her and the other waitress. We asked if we could just take that woman's table which she left and took the table offered to us. The manager told us we could not and could wait in line. We asked why should we have to wait now that there was a miscommunication on their part and we had been given an outside table. Manager rude and did not care. We left for ihop. The food and flavors are excellent, however, the service is severely lacking. Our visit for a group of two was on 7-3-21 around 1pm. We were seated shortly after arriving and met by the server for drink orders. Once we placed our food order we didn't see the server until our food was served, over 30mins later. They were busy, but that's no reason to ignore customers because you can't get their food out in an hour. Totally unacceptable. The atmosphere here is very welcoming like a friends kitchen which along with the decor was very nice. We were sat and served very quickly. My husband loved his healthy start breakfast. My daughters shared a kids grilled cheese and chocolate chip pancake with fresh fruit( the fruit was exceptionally fresh). My food however wasn't what I had wished it to be. Maybe next time we will be able to give a more favorable review. No complaints regarding the food, since this is a chain they have already determined what will work and the kitchen seems to execute it well. I'm sure visitors who are staying in the area will find it refreshing not be be forced into going to a fast food place for breakfast while here. The service on the other hand was horrible and maybe they need more time to shake out the staff and managers before they charge the EAF fee which you will see on your check. This is the enhanced amenity fee that Daytona One and some other establishments are tacking on to checks. It amounts to one percent of the bill and is not a state or local tax. One percent does not sound like much at a breakfast place until you multiply it hundreds of times or go to a different place in the area and pick up a dinner bill for six and see what you are paying above tax and gratuity. The old saying "you get what you pay for" did not apply in this case. read more
