Just had the worst experience and I'm so upset at what I just dealt with. I walked in at exactly 1:27p, alone and was told the kitchen was closed and they could not seat me. The place closed at 2p, why would you turn me away?! I absolutely hate to throw out the race card but it makes no sense why I couldn't be seated. It's not like it was 1:50p... it was more than 30 mins before their advertised closing time. In this day and age, this should not be happening. The food was absolutely incredible. I had the shrimp and crawfish omelet and my friend had a modified menu item recommended by the server, Cat, who was great. It was a Benedict topped with the shrimp and andouille sausage Topping from the shrimp and grits. We both had the City Grits as our side. We decided to try take out this time. We ordered chicken and waffles and a pumpkin cold brew. The app is very helpful and gives you lots of information in regards to expected completion time and when you should arrive to pick up your meal as well as directions to and your location. When checking in I was pointed to the end of the bar where online orders were. When I got there I saw my name on my order and I asked do I just pick it up and go and they said sure. No verification that it was mine? No verifying if we need the syrup or any other utensils or things to take with us. This is our fourth visit and honestly each and every time services really been the disappointing factor. What a great concept, but unfortunately they need time to get the service up the par. The food here is up to par with higher end brunch spots. Although the egg was slightly over cooked it's okay I understand, not everyone can make prefect omelets. I NEVER hold that against anyone. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. Not overdone but perfectly tender, so that supercedes the over cooked eggs for sure. The coffee is great and strong. My experience here was Top Notch! We normally have brunch at our local First Watch, but we were interested in trying something different. We ended up at Another Broken Egg and I'm so glad that we did! From the moment that we reached the hostess desk, the customer service was on point! We were so warmly and pleasantly greeted that we even felt like old friends and VIPs. I observed that the hostess made everyone feel just as welcome! That was so refreshing. Sometimes, people at the hostess desk act as if incoming diners are a nuisance. We were seated and soon our server appeared. She was amazing! I could tell that management had taken the time to invest in training. We perused our menu and soon ordered. They actually had vegetarian dishes! I was excited about that.
