I got a coupon for a free birthday entree with purchase of an entree, and I didn't have enough time to drive to the Daytona location, so I thought I'd give Port Orange one more try. If my experience is always like I had today, I will happily switch to coming to this location because it is much closer to where I live. I ordered my favorite Market Hash. It came out fast, hot, and cooked to perfection with plenty of mushrooms, cheese, spinach and eggs made just the way I requested, served with yummy whole grain toast and strawberry jam. They have stepped up their game at this location. I hope they keep it up. read more

This First Watch is not my favorite. Originally ordered the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was over seasoned, way too salty. It was inedible, had to send it back. Instead got avocado toast which was decent. Best part of the meals was the million dollar bacon.. The service was great, so was the coffee. read more

We frequently visit the ISB location but while shopping Port Orange we lunched at this location. My experience at this location was great! Everything was as expected, but the customer service was top notch! That's worth the extra star on this review. I was warmly greeted and was able to be seated quickly! The server was so kind. I ordered hot tea and Parmesan Prosciutto Toast. This was thick-cut, griddled artisan sourdough with thinly shaved prosciutto, scrambled cage-free eggs, Monterey Jack, lemon-dressed arugula and roasted garlic aioli topped with freshly grated Parmesan as per the menu. I swapped the side of fresh fruit for a cup of grits. The dish was plated nicely, but some of the Parmesan shavings kept falling off the plate. I highly recommend this dish. Everything was tasty, freshly prepared, and exactly the right temperature. read more

I used to come here 3x a week minimum. The service is great and the food is above par. The bread was the very enjoyable dessert. Now the bread has been cheapened and tastes like cardboard. Excellent place for brunch. We came here with friends while attending the Daytona 500. I had the cereal milk cocktail which honestly tasted just like milk leftover in your cereal bowl after eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch. We also tried the Bloody Mary with bacon. As far as bloody Mary's go- this one was solid. The millionaire bacon (with cayenne and brown sugar) is delicious and should not be missed. We ordered one for the table to share (4 pieces). For entrees I had the cauliflower breakfast tacos (cauliflower seasoned with chorizo seasoning) We also got an order of French toast to share after our entrees. The French toast was perfect, served with syrup and berry compote. The service was great and the service fast. read more

Traveling north we popped off 95 to get breakfast and wait out rush hour. We were immediately thrown into and among the commuters but saw the sign for here and pulled in. Only one other patron present at 0750, so got the seat of our choice. Quick service and coffee then we ordered the Parma Skillet Hash for me; Eggs Benedict Florentine for her. Our food came quickly, as always very good... She said she thinks there is always a nice "taste" of FW food! So this is def a girl spot! It's in a commercial area with other stuff around like the homophobic chikfilet, but def try this spot! read more

Was looking for an outdoor brunch spot for five big people and one bambino when First Watch came to mind. Turned out to be a pretty good idea. The hostess stand had no issues with us sitting outside even though we were the first group to do so that morning. Also, they happily agreed to moving tables together to accommodate our preferred spot on the patio. Monica was our most competent server. I'm not sure how many tables she was keeping indoors but we received plenty of attention outside. Got us started with Mimosas (couldn't say we'd been to brunch if we didn't have them) before bringing out the grub. I've included some pictures but can honestly say everyone was satisfied with their selections. Me? I had the Biscuits & Turkey Sausage Gravy. A first for me on the whole turkey sausage thing...can I claim I was eating healthier? Will definitely keep this spot in mind the next time we are back together again. read more

Update: it seems my good experience yesterday is not an every day thing. First Watch is a very consistent company and you expect the same where ever you go. This restaurant lacks luster and any desire for someone to come back. Potatoes salty, service not very good and full of excuses, coffee stale and bitter, Benedict's fully over cooked and took forever to get the server to come over to help replace them. I will stick to the first watch's in Orlando. Hopefully this restaurant gets their act together because yesterday was really a good experience but it was totally different staff today. I have come to this First Watch a few times and have not always had the best experience. This morning definitely changed my mind of my thoughts of this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the food was cooked to perfection. I am pretty particular about my eggs Benedict's but they cooked the eggs just right. The potato's were crispy and the banana granola crunch pancake is something out of this world. The mimosas were delicious! Yes I said mimosas. They have tons of boozy drinks and mimosas to offer. The interior is really nice and service was fast- however, there was hardly anyone there, so It should have been fast. It all went down hill from there. The menu is unimaginative, way over priced, and bland. I ordered Eggs Benedict. It came on a stale ciabatta roll instead of the traditional English muffin. The eggs were a bit over cooked, but not awful. There was NO hollandaise sauce. (Folks, Eggs Benedict with no hollandaise sauce is just poached eggs on toast!). My grandson had the most traditional breakfast they make. It was uninteresting and sparse- about enough food for a tottler. Breakfast for the 2 of us was over $40! I will never go back. read more

This place is kinda hidden in the Plaza near Target. I've been to a few other locations and can't go wrong with this place for a good breakfast, lunch, or brunch. We tried the BLT Eggs Benedict and the Biscuits and Gravy. They were both super yummy and great flavors! The roasted potatoes was the cherry on top to it all. Usually first watch is great but last few times have not been ideal at all! I usually get their To-go. Their app is amazing , however the food has not been. Burnt bacon and egg shells in the eggs on multiple occasions; I do not know who is cooking in the back lately but they need to do better. And whoever is preparing the meals should recognize it's not right to give this quality food to patrons, esp. loyal ones. Very disappointed. read more

Never done this before, but we walked out. It was busy - but this is a breakfast place (chain) and should be able to handle it. We waited 20 minutes for a table only to wait another 15 minutes being ignored. This place needs teamwork. Everyone was in the weeds and struggling as opposed to working together. Might come back in a year if they're still around. Too many great breakfast places within 1 mile to eat at as opposed to wasting time waiting here. We walked out never having been greeted by our server. That's a first for me. read more

Had on line order and arrived a little early. The restaurant was not bustling had a handful of people seated. I ran to the restroom and there was still no hostess so I stopped at the back bar area lady was really snippy and looked like she was in a tizzy. After telling her I had an online order she said very sarcastically that they would put it up front when it was ready. Looking behind her there were two orders that hadn't been brought to the front yet and she never turned around. 5 minutes later they bring out my order that had been setting back there since I sat to wait. My first visit to a First Watch. Nice looking place, very friendly people working there. Not many regular things on their menu, lots of things with unusual ingredients. Not entirely impressed with the food nor the service, usually when my wife and I go out servers are very attentive to our drinks or if everything is ok with our food, not today, first time trying and definitely will be our last time, if I were to spend that much on breakfast, I'd definitely go to Cracker Barrel for better food and service, portions were too small and food was not the greatest. read more

The beauty of this restaurant is that the "fish camp" fixins' are on an all-you-can-eat buffet. But your entree is made to order, fresh for you! Best of both worlds! We had 8 in our party and were delighted to know that it takes 12 for the gratuity to be automatic. That was not an issue, though. Our first server "cousin Richard" was excellent, but then he got pulled away and "cousin Bailey" took care of us. Both were delightfully friendly and very attentive. In our group we had chicken tenders, which I sampled and were some of the best I've ever had. We had shark and alligator appetizers. They were both awesome. We had sautéed shrimp and sautéed scallops. Both were swimming in a delicious buttery garlic sauce and cooked to perfection. One had meatloaf and said it was great! One had salmon. And a couple of people had the crab cakes which they also said were delicious. The sides were also good, and the "fish camp" sides were awesome. I want to especially comment on the cheese grits. As a G.R.I.T.S. (Girl raised in the south) and a devout grits snob, I give my wholehearted double thumbs-up on the grits. I thought my grandson was going to make himself sick eating so much! I wished he would have been a bit faster and more attentive since we were trying to leave in somewhat of a rush... I think maybe this place is just understaffed or we got a bad waiter. The catfish was still good the next day and the cinnamon rolls were AMAZING though!!

But then we saw Houligan's, not knowing anything about this small local *chain*, and we both wanted to give it a try. Now that I know a bit of their 30-year legacy in this area, I'm happy with our choice. My only critique is that some of the menu prices weren't current. For example, adding a side salad to my Philly cheese steak was $4.99 on the menu but we were charged $5.99. That said, it was a good size salad & worth $6. Which leads me to digress about their ranch dressing... It was REALLY good. So good that I asked for an extra cup for my Philly cheese steak & Hubs' fries (99¢). Our server mentioned that their Ranch dressing is made in-house, and it definitely shows. I'm not often a Philly Cheesesteak gal but on this night I was craving one. When our server confirmed that I could have it sans peppers, onions & mushrooms, that sounded perfect! It was fantastic! And, YES, I dipped in that amazing Ranch dressing a few times. Not sure why I didn't opt for the French Dip, but I'll definitely consider that sandwich on another visit. I chose mashed potatoes as my side, and they were absolutely incredible. Hubs ordered a burger with mushrooms & loved it. We also split a side salad, which is how I discovered that Ranch dressing. IT WAS SO GOOD. Realistically, I'm not sure when we'll be able to visit another Houligan's but I hope we can. We do pop over to Daytona occasionally but usually on the way to Jacksonville or on the way home to Tampa - not really to eat. But now that we know about Houligan's, and hubs still wants to try their Wally Wings, we may plan a future route just so we can visit again.

He told me tomato and lettuce. He was clueless. No apology. I had to ask him to return to kitchen and make it right. I watched as he just wandered around, having only three tables. It would have been nice if he once checked on us. I see on here many complaints of poor service. My hope management reviews these reviews and make adjustments. My wife told I was too critical but it's not cheap to dine out and I have high expectations of my server taking care of the customers.
