This is definitely a "Greasy spoon" type place. Take an extra dose of cholesterol meds and be ready fo the blood pressure to go up. I had a simple steak and eggs. The steak was very salty. I went to this restaurant 9 months ago and it was terrific. Great ambience, great service, and great food. Returned again today and it was an utter disaster. The server claims she started three days ago, didn't know if they served Pepsi or Coke, they had no children's menu, we're out of chocolate for the chocolate milk for my two-year-old grandson and the food was atrocious. It took 45 minutes when they were only a table of two in the entire restaurant to get our food, and I immediately got sick upon returning home. I will never return to this establishment! read more

Ordered: - egg white omelette w/ mushrooms, spinach and bacon in it with potatoes PROS: - service was kind and quick - menu had some decent options - egg white omelette was pretty good but small CONS: - potatoes were under cooked and not that great - water glass smelled really funny, didn't drink it. I hate leaving bad reviews but in hopes owner sees this and maybe it could help... I always spend good money and order multiple things when I eat breakfast out. Service wansnt the greatest, no silverware, no seasoning once so ever, food took a while, none of my veggies were cooked properly in my omelette, pancake was burned and real chewy, coffee eh, no lively vibe from anyone. Wonderful little find in Ormond Beach. I was hoping for New York style diner food and that's what we found. The service was wonderful and the food reminded me of home. I had the traditional two-egg breakfast with toast -and I decided to add a short stack of pancakes (just because). All of it was good. The restaurant was clean and the staff was pleasant. We shared a Bloody Mary which was delicious. I had the eggs sausage grits and biscuit. I'm from Mississippi and I've never had good grits anywhere other than Mississippi but I must say I really enjoyed them here. As we sat and waited for our food and while we were eating we realized that almost every person in this restaurant was a local and I mean come in sit and food immediately served without even ordering. How wonderful to see that. You really don't see that anymore at least here. Anyways that speaks volumes to me and I was really impressed with the place and even though we're not regulars we were treated great and will definitely be back. Highly recommend. I love small little family run places so we decided to eat here this morning. We were sat quickly and after deciding what we wanted ordered with no issue. From there I cannot say it was a good experience at all. The waitress acted very rushed and like we weren't really important, bringing napkins and just throwing them on the table as she walked away. But I didn't say anything as I do not try to complain. We sat and sat and waited and waited. Almost an hour later our food finally came out. My husband's food was hot and good, most of mine was ok besides the biscuit and gravy tasted funny and had obviously been sitting quite some time, but again, I really try and just deal with it and not say anything, because I know every place will have a bad day. My sisters food however was not even warm, the sausage was left off of her sandwich. The waitres went and got her sausage and when she came back she informed her the food was cold and she just didn't want any of it so the waitress took everything, but didn't even offer a solution or anything. But at that point we were just going to wait for the check, pay and leave. But then this "cook" man came down started pointing his finger , knocking items off the counter as he threateningly pointed at our table with the nastiest hard looks and puffed out chest and said something we couldn't even understand, but was most certainly a hateful tone. My sister went up to the counter to speak to them about our concerns and we were met with attitude and rudeness. The man then came and told her to get the f#$k out of there. Seriously? Who says that to a customer? She wasn't cursing at him, she was quiet and polite and just trying to explain the issue and he comes down in a very threatening manner spouting his nastiness. I came to counter to just pay and get out of there but everybody just wanted to have bad attitudes and basically called us liars. He stood 15 feet away giving hard dirty looks like he was trying to intimidate us. We tried to pay the bill but she refused to take any money. I do not ask for handouts and did not want her trying report us as non-payers so we left cash on the counter and left. VERY disappointing and the only explanation we were given is the worker we were speaking with claimed she was out of it due to low sugar. It wasn't even her behavior that was the issue though so I'm not sure the point in telling us that, she shouldn't be working if she's not feeling well. But she was far more appropriate to us than the horrible man cooking the food. He almost hit people at the table in front of us when he threw his hand out toward us and knocked things off their counter. just extremely unprofessional environment. My hope is the owner of the establishment can retrain their employees and get them under control. If those were the owners... wow! Good luck! We most certainly will not return, nor recommend them! We had breakfast again here Sunday. Our 3rd time here over the past couple months. Service is pretty good but they sure could use one or two more servers during the busy times. They were pretty busy at 10am this past Sunday. 3 servers. Several not cleared tables. Staff was moving quickly, but unable to keep up. Our order took about15 minutes to table. My biscuits and gravy was not hot. My friend's eggs were not cooked hard as asked for. Coffee was great! And, refilled often. I REALLY WANT THIS PLACE TO MAKE IT!! Constructive criticism: during busy times...definitely need an extra waiter or 2. Bike week coming up. Need to step up the service! Absolutely need an extra prep person in the cook station. Too slow on the grill! A set up person would cut down the late food arrivals. Cooks need to get it right the first time around. Mistakes waste time. Talked to the owner, Kim.
