I want to start of by saying I have now been to 3 FW's in about 5 years. Unfortunately the last 2 times (last 3months) the service has been slow and disappointing. The first time I went was one of their original locations in Arizona. Perhaps as this chain has grown in size the training hasn't kept up? If so, that's very sad. The food is excellent!! I had the smoked salmon benedict and the candied bacon and both were excellent. I would give the food 5/5 and the service 1/5, for a nice round 3/5 final score. First time here. Wish they had them in Oregon. We stopped halfway on our trip from SC to FLL. Great selection of healthy options and large portions at reasonable prices. I eat out much too often and this is the best breakfast place I've had! My family and I ordered their food on DoorDash last week and all LOVED it and we have some very picky eaters. Great location, right across from the speedway, near Target and close to the highway. The outdoor patio has privacy screens that also help shade the patio. Perfect for my dog. They have heaters on the ceiling for when it's cold. I always get the avocado toast in the AM which is always great...and a side of potatoes extra crispy. All for a total (with coffee) for about $11. Walking in the restaurant was clean and had a nice farm style atmosphere, promoting their organic ingredients and produce. I ordered the Trifecta, consisting of waffle, 2 eggs, and mine had 2 slivers of bacon. The waffle was fluffy and delicious, but one bacon was as black as a tire. Im not sure how it left the window with two completely different looking bacon pieces. The egg was as an egg should be, but when I asked for cheese, a sandwich style slice had been thrown on after cooking. It also came out to be an additional charge I was unaware off. The morning meditation drink was superb though and so was the biscuits and gravy. They seem to be a bit pretentious, but can be a hit or miss if you are able to over look how costly the food is. read more

Haven't heard of First Watch before, and we normally try more local owned vs 'corporate' restaurants, but I'm so glad we stopped. Excellent service (thanks Rody!), great atmosphere, and tasty tasty food. Will come back again. My friend has been raving about First Watch since summer; he was super excited to show me this new location in Daytona. We finally went and I must say the food taste delicious. It was very affordable and the ambience is nice. I like the idea of a breakfast, brunch, and lunch establishment. I personally am not a huge fan of breakfast food, but I did enjoy my meal and felt very filled. The presentation of the food made it look even more tasty. I did read the reviews for this location and I had a different experience. I will say that it took a little for food to come, but I noticed that the place was almost entirely packed. Towards the end, I was waiting quite a long time for the waitress to come back because I wanted a to-go box. Eventually, my friend had to flag the waitress to ask for the box not entirely a big deal. Stopped here for a breakfast when I was with my son (a nearby college student). It was very good and I really enjoyed the healthy options. It's breakfast so don't expect miracles, but it is fresh, good, and served with a smile. Décor is nice as well. More trendy with the semi-industrial look. It's not a "cheap" breakfast, but in this case I'd argue you get what you pay for. Price is the only reason it gets 4 vs. 5 stars. But I do recommend it. Greatly disappointed in the service of this First Watch location. My girlfriend and I had went for a Sunday Brunch to this location. Given, that Sunday's are usually the busiest so the service isn't always at its best, but this was ridiculous. When our waitress had brought us the water glasses initially and they were FILTHY. Pieces of food were left in them as well as an awful smell. After bringing this up to the waitress and asking for replacement glasses, she simply took the same glasses, rinsed them with water, and brought them back wet with food pieces still in them. We were outraged and when we asked to speak with the manager she had refused to come to the outdoor seating which had prompted other customers around me to leave as they had waited AN HOUR after placing their order to get their food AND SO DID WE!! The manager came out 25 minutes after we had requested to speak with her, to which she didn't even replace our glasses for new ones. Other customers both inside and out were also complaining about the service, as when I paid up front there was a small line of angry diners also requesting the manager. We paid, left and are never coming back to this location. Thank God that First Watch is opening their location in Port Orange soon. The folks in food service in Port Orange simply outclass Daytona's locations for the exact same franchises. Excited for the Port Orange location, as it's even closer to home. read more

This first watch has been my favorite of all the ones we have visited. The waitress (Kayla) was very nice and on point with all of our orders. We ordered the traditional breakfasts and sausage biscuits. The biscuits were amazing! The flavor and fluffiness was very tasty. French toast was also very good. Out of all the locations I've been to, this one is the best. Vanessa was our waitress and made it all the difference. Typically when I get to a first watch it's always a little slow. With this location Vanessa made it the opposite. As a party of 8 we got seated quickly, order taken promptly and everything we needed without having to ask. We've had First Watch food in Orlando and it's great to have one near by, here in Daytona Beach. They have all kinds of breakfast items. All or most healthy choices. I tried the protein breakfast. Pretty interesting when it came out. Nice colors and healthy. Poached eggs, Quinoa, kale and a few other things. Very filling and pretty good. My wife just looked at me when it came. She's more of an egg and bacon girl. Yea, they have that also. My brother had everything plus pancakes. He doesn't like to invent either, like i do. I can't wait to go back to try other meals. The service is great. Whether you sit at the bar or at a table, you get great service and great food. Good location, right in front of the race track on I.S. Blvd. Next to the bridge. It was ridiculous - poor service, cold food, inattentive, had to go to register and stand there because we were never brought a bill then it took probably 7-8 minutes. Should breakfast take an hour?
