Not a bad place and probably worth the wait which is always there. I recommend the berries and pudding with chia seeds and granola. Healthy and tasty to boot! Take your family and enjoy a breakfast treat that is a little different than your ordinary breakfast. Have fun! read more

Very busy, make sure to check in on here first. Food cane quick and was good. Menu had a lot of good options. Fresh juice was delicious

I like how there were so many healthy options. Our waitress was really sweet, patient, and attentive despite it being our first time here. My boyfriend and I order the Chikichanga, which was delicious. However, the potatoes were extremely salty. I liked the variety of fresh fruit on the Floridian French Toast, but the bread to egg ratio was a little off. The price for the quality, and overall, I liked it. read more

I really love this place! I took my family here for the first time and they all enjoyed it too. The food is unique, on the healthy side, and aesthetically pleasing. The prices are good too! I especially loved their kale squeeze (it's my to go drink order). There's always a 1 hour wait, so I recommend calling ahead for the waitlist. The food can also take a while to come out-- which makes sense because it's usually packed. Anyway, I really really recommend this place! read more

The only breakfast and brunch restaurant with going to in Fairfax/Chantilly/Centreville. Everything is fresh and tastes amazing. Be sure to check in online first because there usually a long wait the closer you get to noon. read more

First time visit to "First Watch" Chantilly Virginia. I entered and approached the host, who immediately welcomed me as we walked to a corner booth. I like booths. Food: I prefer the traditional Bacon eggs and toast, which they serve, as well as catering to the health conscious with a variety of choices that will sate any ones palate: Staff: My waitress was Audrey who greeted me with a smile, menu and a cup of coffee. After a rather quick and easy order I waited for my food and took in the ambiance. The entire staff seemed to just . . . ahh . . . 'flow', easily about the restaurant, and I just sensed a congenial atmosphere. My ordered arrived quickly, and correctly, my waitress was attentive to my needs politely and with courteousness. I highly recommend. Though I was told the place is kicking on weekends and you may experience a short wait. Steve Chantilly Virginia **** read more

My first time at FIRST WATCH was a pretty good experience. I had the skillet Hash farmers version and it was cooked well and seasoned well. One down fall is that the waiter was not as approachable and it took awhile to get water. BUT other than that I love the restaurant atmosphere and the vibe is so friendly and the staff is fast and efficient on providing for their customers. I Highly recommend coming here for a good brunch meal with family or friends. Lately cleanliness is good in the restaurant. If you want to experience your first brunch this is the place to go ! read more

We ordered the lemon and ricotta pancakes...WINNER! I can't even describe how much we enjoyed them and the maple sugared bacon.

Worst experience ever! My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for years and we always use the nowait app. For those who doesn't know what this app does, It's great as you don't have to wait in the restaurant, instead you get "in line" through the app. It's awesome when is really crowded and we've always used and we receive a text message when it's our turn. Unfortunately today the manager decided to make us wait for 15 minutes even when it was our turn. She said she wanted to allocate large parties. To be honest, one, she didn't even look at me when she said that and second, why not to mention that in a polite way or sit us in any of their 4 available tables?????? I really don't understand it. We love the restaurant both food and service, but we are not coming back to this location while this so called manager works there. read more

I've been here about a dozen times (it's very close to my work) and I've been pleased every time. As others have said, there's an emphasis on healthy and fresh ingredients, so there are a lot of menu items with chicken and turkey. They also have a reuben and a sandwich called the beefeater, so they do have some items for the red meat eaters out there. I love, love, love the grilled turkey sandwich - it comes with plenty of bacon, cheese, and ranch. It isn't particularly healthy, but the ingredients are high quality and it's insanely tasty. Their tomato basil soup is also delicious. I don't even like tomato soup and I never would have tried it if a co-worker hadn't pushed me to, but I'm glad I did. They also have great breakfast items. I love the omelets. They come with either fried potatoes and an English muffin or a salad. Both are good options. The fried potatoes aren't greasy and the salad is fresh and well-dressed. I like the service, too - basic but efficient. The server will check to see if your food came out well, but they don't pester you throughout your meal like the servers at some restaurants. The food comes out quickly. read more

Best breakfast I've had in Northern VA. The only improvement I'd make would be on the restaurant logo and branding. I would have never guessed this was a restaurant by looking at the name and logo on the building - actually thought it was a gym or yoga studio. The fork in the logo is very subtle. The branding issue is a slightly irrelevant critique though because the food and service were amazing. Delicious blueberry pancakes and home fries. read more

We absolutely love First Watch in Chantilly! Best waffles ever, love their French toast, Parma-hash egg skillet and their pancakes are awesome. Suggest ordering fresh strawberries too. Never have had a bad meal here and while you sometimes have to wait a while for a table the service is always great. read more

I have only been here once but that one time I got waffles and they were amazing. Will return to try some other items.

Order coffee. They do not have anything other than 1% milk to put in coffee and then nasty non refrigerated creamer. I find it hard to believe that they serve coffee and do not offer better options. Possibly this is the healthy option, but there plenty of studies to other diet that opt for whole milk as a healthy option. I might as well poured water into my coffee. I did not drink it but paid $2.49 for it. I think that Starbucks might be cheaper. Then I ordered the BLT Benedict. There was almost no hollandaise sauce. The establishment feels like a Fastfood restaurant that is trying too hard be healthy. I would highly doubt if they actually cook their food. It most likely all comes pre-packed and ready to plate. Over all, I was not impressed for the price of the meal. read more

The French toast was really bland. The hash browns were flavorless. It took awhile to get greeted at the front... They seemed understaffed. There were kids crying everywhere. It was just a hot mess. Nothing stood out about this place. I won't come back here. It wasn't horrible but even ihops food is way better. read more

This gem is a wonderful alternative to chain restaurants. The food is healthy, fresh and delicious. The restaurant is large and bright. You must try the blueberry crunch pancakes! read more

Great place for brunch. Healthy, tasty menu options. Friendly, attentive staff. Definitely worth trying.

Great atmosphere, fast and friendly service. The food was amazing, would definitely recommend

I had the WORST service here on my birthday a couple months ago and I won't be returning. Our waitress was terrible and inattentive; she got my order wrong, which was fine -- but then she argued with me over it and acted like I told her the order wrong. After I finally got my correct food (well after my boyfriend had already finished his), she never checked on us, completely forgot about our table, and never brought out our check. We waited around, then decided to give her 15 minutes after finishing eating to see if she would bring us our check -- she did not. We got up and went to the front counter, at which point another server ran up and gave us our check. As I was paying I told the front register woman about our terrible experience and she just shrugged her shoulders. Not a great way to spend a birthday. read more

So I am writing this review as I leave the cafe. I put in my to go order at 9.01 ( how I know the time, because it's printed on the receipt) for oatmeal and a large coffee. Not that hard right! Wrong. So first the girl at the front brings me the smallest cup for coffee. I asked her if this is large since I paid for large. She goes back to the kitchen, comes back and tells me that's the only cup they have. The cup is so hot that I can't even hold it and they don't have any sleeve for them. So I wrap it in a napkin. No biggie. So it's 9.25 right now and still no oatmeal. A server leaves a go to bag behind the front counter. The girl at the front looks at it, looks at me and gets busy. Ok I guess not my order. 10 more minutes pass by and I am getting impatient. I ask her is it going to take long. And she answers me with a uh oh uh. Gets busy with front again. So 10 more minutes pass and I tell her, can you please cancel my order. I don't intend to wait anymore. The other girl standing there picks up the good from behind the counter and hands it to me. Oh look that's your oatmeal which has been sitting there for 30 min. So it took me 55 min to get my order. read more

The servers who have been there since the beginning are fine. Select new server provides disgusting and rude customer service. The first time I had this server she asked me how my meal was when I was writing tips and stood over my head thinking she would pressure me to giving good tips. Tips is for extraordinary service. I had a better server today. When I was paying the bill, my server was taking very long w/ my credit card and I was about to ask what was going on because if the card was declined I had two other forms of payment. However, after the words of her name, excuse me, Audrey, she replied "I'm in a rush" and to shut up essentially and I told her excuse you and she said "yeah that's right excuse you, I excuse you". Moments, later my server came out and I informed her of the situation an she said that she would inform the manager. I said that she Audrey should apologize and that should be told to the manger. I guess it was told Audrey herself who had a temper tantrum and fit equivalent to that of a child and was witnessed by another customer who was stunned. I was told by this girl that she will not apologize and I told her to go away from my table an she said no and remained yelling at me. This is not how you treat a customer. Please if you ever go there don't sit in her section otherwise you will get the worst service of your life and one who is focused only gaining tips. I was told I was hard to please. If you do your job beyond just getting food and converse, ask about meal after few bites, and don't wait to ask about my meal only when I am completing my check and on the tip line, I will tip you. Serving me is not a favor don't act like it is a favor. I am paying you for a service. Never sit in her section she should not be in service industry. read more

Biases: Breakfast is probably my favorite meal of the day. And I hate chain restaurants. Service: Good; really no complaints-- attentive, but not pushy servers who got my order correct and my food out incredibly quickly. They were also very patient while I was waiting for my breakfast date! Food: definitely a step up from IHOP or Denny's, but nothing like Nudy's in Wayne, PA (my favorite!). Loved that they gave you a carafe of coffee or hot water and left it at your table when you ordered a hot drink. I had the Market Scramble w/ 2 poached eggs. Eggs were a tad underdone, but the yolk was perfectly runny. Well-seasoned potatoes and nicely sauteed vegetables. Plus a mug of hot tea and tip, my meal was $15.07. A little bit higher price than I would normally pay for a chain breakfast, but, as I said, it is a step-up from other chain places. I'd definitely come back! read more

Very pleasant breakfast, lunch, or brunch place. Went on a Sunday & had a pretty long wait. Nicely varied menu w/ something for everyone. Had a veggie burger & tomato basil soup, very yummy. Both tasted fresh & homemade. Companions had pancakes which were huge(plate-sized) and they gave good reviews. Nice atmosphere, friendly efficient service. Good location right on rt.50 by dogfish head. Decent kids menu w/ coloring page & crayons. Just be prepared for a wait during prime times. read more

We read many good reviews and we like to eat healthy so we went for the cage free egg breakfast. Place is big and looks nice; however it lacks character. Food was okay. I had the tri-athlete and even though it had salsa on the side and chilli peppers it was rather bland. My husband had Egg benedicte florentine and he said it was good and they look better than my omelette. Presentation of dishes was kind of sloppy. Worst thing was the service, even though the food came fast, we did not feel welcome, not even a smile, kind of rude. Maybe it was too early and they were still sleepy. We went with high expectations, we might go back only for the cage free eggs or even better we will try the Fairfax location to see if we have better luck. read more

So disappointing! I love First Watch but this visit left me feeling sad. We arrived and what looked like the manager (older, heavy set man wearing a tie) said they just had to clean a table. They had numerous (I counted four) dirty tables. The "manager" went to the back. A young skinny man stood, looked at us and mumbled that the table just needed to be cleaned. In the meantime, he re-organized some menus, walked around, looked around and chatted with the lady at the register. He then told us it would be five minutes because the table still needed to be cleaned. Hmm... The table had already been cleared of dishes, how long does it take to wipe off the table, and set some clean dishes. No one seemed to have a sense of purpose. What looked like the manager was definitely not setting the pace or the example. Food was great, as usual and our service was good but this was not a typical visit. I'll definitely be thinking twice about a visit to this location. The Fairfax location has much better service. read more

Fantastic place for couples and families. Download the No Wait App and get seated within 5 minutes of your arrival. The wait staff is super friendly and informative. The prices are great. I really enjoyed eating breakfast here with my husband. We got a table on a Saturday morning within five minutes of waiting. The food was fast and all of the healthy options make you feel better about stuffing your face with brunch. One complaint- the restaurant was absolutely freezing. Too much AC is a thing! I guess better too cold than too hot. If the restaurant is a good temperature and I have a similar food experience next time, I could bump this rating to 5 stars. read more

We love first watch! The best breakfast and brunch in the area! Their candy bacon is bomb!

My absolute favorite place to get brunch !!! Food is always good but the servers could be nicer and be happy to serve you.

Ehhhhhh....that's probably the best way to describe First Watch. I'll start with the positive (not plural.) The breakfast potatoes. They were fantastic. Everything else we had was underwhelming. The omelettes my wife and I ordered were dry and two slices of white cheese were placed on top of hers and not melted. I didn't look good. On top of it all, the only way to do call ahead seating is to download their app. Kinda screwy. read more

This place was great, but has been getting progressively worse as time goes by. I've been going here almost every weekend for 3 years, and their portions are getting smaller. On top of that, I opened up the bacado omelette the past two times I went and the avocado was all brown inside. Make sure you check any avocado you order. read more
