Good food! I find it hard to get excited about breakfast food. Of all the meals and foods that go with each meal. I feel breakfast has the smallest variety and all seems the same. First watch however puts a great twist on breakfast food. They give you lots of options and freedom to modify meals. Most of the meals include fruit which is great. Their healthy options are really outstanding and really makes eating healthy easy and tasty. The seasonal items are also very good. I had pumpkin pancakes and they were delicious if I wasn't so full I would have had more. They also have creative meals such as a holed out piece of bread with a fried egg in the middle! The portions on each meal is really good. I always leave there satisfied and full but never to the point where I'm uncomfortable. The particular First Watch I go to is not very big. It's a good size but when it's a daytime cafe, as they call themselves, that is as good as they are. It fills up very very fast and most times there is a a wait. Never more than 10-15 minutes but it's totally worth it. I really like that the wile front facing the main raid and part of the sides is very open with huge windows. It's lets in a lot of light and its a great way to start your day off. My only knocks on First Watch is that a few times you could tell that the coffee was old and been sitting a while. Second I don't like mushrooms alit of their meals have Crimini mushrooms in them. I ask for no mushrooms but I usually find a few still in the food. I don't have an allergy to them so it's really not a big deal. I just set them aside. That's the reason for the four stars. All in all its a great restaurant and if your looking for a good healthy breakfast. Head to First Watch and try it out! read more

First time eating at this place and I wish had tried more food. The menu was surprisingly fun blend of a lot of breakfast brunch type items and some lunch items. It was 11am so I did the breakfast route. Our server recommended the CHICKICHANGA (picture attached) as her favorite. It was a burrito filled with eggs, avocado, chorizo, sautéed onions, cheese, and topped with sour cream, side of potatoes, and a condiment container with seasonal fruit. The burrito was delicious and bursting with flavor from the two types of meats and onions sautéed to perfection. The potatoes smoking hot and good blend of crispy and soft. I just wish it came with more potatoes and fruit making it a fuller portion. Unfortunately that's all I had and I want to try the million dollar bacon or donuts and omelettes. My first experience eating at First Watch was in Texas! Good organic wholesome food but today I came into the Brandon location to get take away and wasn't thrilled with the service. I asked what daily soup was and was told Italian wedding. After looking at the menus I was told there was another soup the waitress hadn't mentioned so was happy to go with that one- Butternut squash and half a sandwich. I live 5 minutes away and when I opened the soup container it was less than half full. I took a picture and then phoned them to ask just what the portions as suppose to be. I was told it was supposed to be 8ounces. I measured it and as suspected it was 4ounces. Seems a little silly putting 4ounces in a 16oz cup! Anyway they took my name and number and gave me a rain check for a bowl of soup. Okay. We'll see how that goes. read more

I had the trifecta, which will get you your choice of egg preparation, pancake or waffle, and like 5 meat options to choose from. I chose scrambled, chocolate chip pancake (because I'm and adult), and the chicken sausage patty. The eggs where cooked well. They where real eggs and not the powdered garbage. I would expect nothing less from such a fine establishment. Especially with prices I would consider the higher end for breakfast. The Chocolate chip pancake was pretty good. It could of used a bit more chips and could have been thicker. It was no crepe, but it was thinner then my liking. The chicken sausage had a really good texture and cook. It had a good sausage consistency. I think it could use a bit more flavor, but I would order it again. Overall, it was a great experience. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The restaurant was clean and such. The prices, as I stated, are on the bigger end for breakfast. Three adults and one 8 year old for $50 after tip. Maybe I am just cheap. read more

I can't believe I'm just reviewing First Watch! I've been coming here for years at various locations, starting with the OG in downtown Tampa, to Brandon and South Tampa locations. It's such a family staple I order the Bacado omelet basically every time. My son is a fan of the gigantic, bigger than your head yummy pancakes. The coffee is good and plentiful. Your cup will never be empty. They also have the option for gluten free toast which I appreciate for my oldest. The elixirs they make fresh daily change and are delicious as well as seasonal. This time I tried the Purple Haze. It was amazing. Like a lavender lemonade but less tart. The color was lovely and it tasted like sunshine! I love first watch. There are healthy options and not so healthy options and every restaurant has a unique look. They usually have a very long wait, but they've made it very easy with a waitlist right on Yelp or their app. You can join the waitlist while you're at home and drive over when your table is almost ready. I don't like to eat alone but I'd go just to eat here. Everything I've gotten on the menu is amazing. The food is always fresh and there's so much diversity on the menu. Ok I love first watch. The food is excellent. So why the review? The Take-out from this specific location!!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME. This time in particular I'm particularly affected so yeah. I'm giving them the extra star only because I'm person I'm fine. And usually the food is good. I haven't even gotten my food yet so let me tell you if the food is not right I'm gonna lose it!!!!! I have severe medical issues. So I'm on the verge of losing everything. I can't work and I've been bed bound for over a month. My mother sent me a few dollars for a meal so I can grab food for me to take my medication today without having to eat ramen noodles again. So I'm excited. My son ran to grocery store on his bike for a pack of meat tonight that he makes me and to grab us done first watch. I'm already super late on my meds and feeling super Ill. We place the order online and I lock my card after it goes through because I have to be very careful about what goes through and I'm thinking everything's fine the order went through. It turns out they don't charge it right away I didn't know that. So when I get an email that the order was declined because my card was frozen I called the place right away and I asked them did you get the order do you need to charge the card right now I'll unfreeze it or do you want to charge it when my son gets there they said oh it's fine we already have the order he can charge it when he gets here to pick up. I said OK perfect he has my card anyway. I said the orders already been placed everything's fine he just has to pay for it upon pick up is that correct they said yes. I said ready by 115 correct they said yes. It is now 150 and the order still not ready because they did not put the order through. So now I am very late on my medication in an immense amount of pain and he still there waiting for the order to get cooked because they would not place the order until after he paid for it. Now you're affecting my health and well being. Never again!!! read more

Eggs were hard, pancake and sausage barely warm. Pancake was bland, no maple syrup, nothing special or worth the money that charge. Barely mediocre. My husband got the truffle hashbrowns with egg which was pretty good. The ham we ordered was cold and tasted awful. Poor wait service, no one came to ask if needed refills on drinks. We started out heading towards Cracker Barrel and was disappointed that the wait times was so long. Little did we know that was a blessing in disguise. First time in and all I can say is WOW. This place is amazing. I am a firm believer that you eat first with your eyes - if it appeals to your eyes, then you proceed to taste. From the moment we parked and walked in we were sold. The GrubHub drivers coming out with bags, amazing. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was fabulous and it didn't stop. The server was the best; answered all our questions and made sure our cups never ran dry. Then the food. As my sister said "it was a tastebud explosion". Very generous portions. We had been going to the one in downtown Tampa for years. It's great to see one here. The service is fast and the waiters are always very friendly and attentive to you. I love all their cute denim aprons....lol I know it's just me. Today, I had the Cobb Salad. Geez, this is huge for a lunch portion. The bacon has a great flavor. The turkey doesn't taste like deli meat and spring mix is as fresh as it comes. I like to watch my weight so olive oil and lemon on the side instead of the ranch dressing. Oh, delicious. They serve with a side of bread, but I am gluten free so well you know. I am dying to eat it! Please get with the times and let's have gluten free bread as an option. It's 2017! Won't knock ya for a star for that, but it's time. The kale juice is right up there with the kind I like to make back home. Taste fresh and I could seriously drink 2 glasses. Loving the new decor. Not that good. We had a crummy server. Food came out at different times and was mediocre. I had the chorizo omelette and there was hardly any chorizo in it. We told the server it was our first time there and this was after she immediately came to table (literally as soon as we sat down) and asked if we were ready to order, and still she gave no insight as to what were her favorites etc. She just disappeared for an exceptionally long time. She never told us you pay at the counter, just again disappeared for an exceptionally long time. Finally, came around and casually mentioned we should go up front to pay, we asked about coffee to purchase, but she told us they wouldn't have any more until beginning of next year. I'm usually a HUGE First Watch fan... this location features hostesses that wear their masks under their chin, and waitresses and serves who wear them under their noses. Please cover your mouth AND nose. Several signs at the door say masks are required... but it's really pointless if they aren't worn properly. read more

This was my first time here. I brought my two younger children (ages 4 & 7). There was a large wait when I did my search, so I added myself to the waitlist through Yelp. It said 30-45 min, but that I should check in with the host at a certain time, which was 28 minutes from when I added myself. I am glad that I did this, as I was seated within 5 min of arrival. The entrance was extremely busy and it was confusing at first trying to check in since people were paying at the same time, but other than this small thing, this place is amazing! I am a personal trainer and very much into eating healthy food. They offer so many healthy options and even the options that are a little heavier on calories, have a healthy twist to them. I loved the salad that they paired with my BLT Eggs Benedict. The lemon vinaigrette served on this salad is so tasty and I almost enjoyed my salad more than the main part of my meal! Service was excellent and everyone was friendly. I did not taste my children's food, but they ate it so I imagine theirs was good too.
