Had lunch on Saturday at First Watch in Brandon. Took advantage of the wait list which is always nice and in this case wait time was close to what we actually waited. Restaurant was crowded, servers wore masks and did sanitize tables between customers. Food and service was good. Never really been a "brunch" guy, but First Watch has changed my mind. Food is delicious, staff is friendly and willing to answer any questions about the menu. The dining area can feel a little cramped when it gets busier, but never to the point that it interferes with the overall dining experience. I went to the Brandon Causeway this morning at about 8:30. I sat at a table on the patio. I waited and could see servers going back and forth and even looking directly at me. No one came to my table. I then went inside and asked the cashier if the patio was open and she said yes. I told her I have been sitting out there and she said. "You have to check-in inside first." she did not ask if I would like or table or we can help you with that, nothing. There is no signage on the patio that instructs customers that they have to check in to sit on the patio. This total lack of concern and customer service made it easy for me to walk away. In these hard times for the restaurant industry you would think that dining establishments would up their game and excel at simple common courtesy to their customers. Party of 3 around lunch time, and we all ordered breakfast type items, as the "New American" menu items did not appeal to us. We all had scrambled eggs as part of our orders, and the biggest complaint was that we all agreed that the eggs were no hotter than room temperature. The other items served varied in temperature from hot to room temperature. Yes, we should have sent the orders back, if the waitress ever showed back up in the next 20 minutes. Ignoring the temperature complaint, the food was mediocre, the prices were high, and the service was lacking. Highly disappointed. Last 2 times I've gone they just not been good. I went (about 2 weeks ago) I ordered avocado toast and the avocado pit was "mashed" in with the avocado. It was definitely not edible, they replaced it and it was better. But then, I also ordered an iced coffee and i drank most of it to find something in the bottom. It was disgusting. And then today, we tried it again and our entire party complained about the potatoes. They were extremely salty. Though they offered to give us different sides we rejected because there was nothing else we wanted. They didn't do anything further and didn't even offer a discount for the inconvenience. Today was my first time dining here with a party of 7 and everyone was completely satisfied. Our waitress, Amanda, did a fantastic job taking care of us the entire time. The place was very clean and comfortable. I ordered one of the quinoa bowls and omitted the eggs, cheese, and meat and added the seasoned potatoes instead. My first experience eating at First Watch was in Texas! Good organic wholesome food but today I came into the Brandon location to get take away and wasn't thrilled with the service. I asked what daily soup was and was told Italian wedding. After looking at the menus I was told there was another soup the waitress hadn't mentioned so was happy to go with that one- Butternut squash and half a sandwich. I live 5 minutes away and when I opened the soup container it was less than half full. I took a picture and then phoned them to ask just what the portions as suppose to be. I was told it was supposed to be 8ounces. I measured it and as suspected it was 4ounces. Seems a little silly putting 4ounces in a 16oz cup! First time eating at this place and I wish had tried more food. The menu was surprisingly fun blend of a lot of breakfast brunch type items and some lunch items. It was 11am so I did the breakfast route. Our server recommended the CHICKICHANGA (picture attached) as her favorite. It was a burrito filled with eggs, avocado, chorizo, sautéed onions, cheese, and topped with sour cream, side of potatoes, and a condiment container with seasonal fruit. The burrito was delicious and bursting with flavor from the two types of meats and onions sautéed to perfection. The potatoes smoking hot and good blend of crispy and soft. I had the trifecta, which will get you your choice of egg preparation, pancake or waffle, and like 5 meat options to choose from. I chose scrambled, chocolate chip pancake (because I'm and adult), and the chicken sausage patty. The eggs where cooked well. They where real eggs and not the powdered garbage. I would expect nothing less from such a fine establishment. Especially with prices I would consider the higher end for breakfast. The Chocolate chip pancake was pretty good. It could of used a bit more chips and could have been thicker. It was no crepe, but it was thinner then my liking. The chicken sausage had a really good texture and cook. It had a good sausage consistency. I think it could use a bit more flavor, but I would order it again. Overall, it was a great experience. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I can't believe I'm just reviewing First Watch! I've been coming here for years at various locations, starting with the OG in downtown Tampa, to Brandon and South Tampa locations. It's such a family staple I order the Bacado omelet basically every time. My son is a fan of the gigantic, bigger than your head yummy pancakes. The coffee is good and plentiful. Your cup will never be empty. They also have the option for gluten free toast which I appreciate for my oldest. The elixirs they make fresh daily change and are delicious as well as seasonal. This time I tried the Purple Haze. It was amazing. Like a lavender lemonade but less tart. The color was lovely and it tasted like sunshine! I love first watch. There are healthy options and not so healthy options and every restaurant has a unique look. They usually have a very long wait, but they've made it very easy with a waitlist right on Yelp or their app. You can join the waitlist while you're at home and drive over when your table is almost ready. This is the best omelet I've had in a long time. Our server Thorton was fabulous. We had the summer specials, try the lobster omelet.

I arrived and was seated in decent time, however waited on our food for an hour. I watched others get seated after us and get served food before us. I know this bc my daughter wanted to set at the more comfortable cushioned booth and I was gonna ask waitress but no one came and then they sit someone there after we sit at our table for 10 mins. I loved First Watch but this was horrible experience and unacceptable. Had another appt and had to leave after an hour, starving! After receiving our drinks our Waitress said she would bring back straws and never did! Simple things matter. But not getting food is unacceptable. Have been wanting to try out this place for a long time, so today was the day. Awful food. I had the pumpkin pancake breakfast with eggs over easy and chicken sausage. Eggs were hard, pancake and sausage barely warm. Pancake was bland, no maple syrup, nothing special or worth the money that charge. Barely mediocre. My husband got the truffle hashbrowns with egg which was pretty good. The ham we ordered was cold and tasted awful. Poor wait service, no one came to ask if needed refills on drinks. This time in particular I'm particularly affected so yeah. I'm giving them the extra star only because I'm person I'm fine. And usually the food is good. I haven't even gotten my food yet so let me tell you if the food is not right I'm gonna lose it!!!!! I have severe medical issues. So I'm on the verge of losing everything. I can't work and I've been bed bound for over a month. My mother sent me a few dollars for a meal so I can grab food for me to take my medication today without having to eat ramen noodles again. So I'm excited. My son ran to grocery store on his bike for a pack of meat tonight that he makes me and to grab us done first watch. I'm already super late on my meds and feeling super Ill. We place the order online and I lock my card after it goes through because I have to be very careful about what goes through and I'm thinking everything's fine the order went through. It turns out they don't charge it right away I didn't know that. So when I get an email that the order was declined because my card was frozen I called the place right away and I asked them did you get the order do you need to charge the card right now I'll unfreeze it or do you want to charge it when my son gets there they said oh it's fine we already have the order he can charge it when he gets here to pick up. I said OK perfect he has my card anyway. I said the orders already been placed everything's fine he just has to pay for it upon pick up is that correct they said yes. I said ready by 115 correct they said yes. It is now 150 and the order still not ready because they did not put the order through. So now I am very late on my medication in an immense amount of pain and he still there waiting for the order to get cooked because they would not place the order until after he paid for it. We had been going to the one in downtown Tampa for years. It's great to see one here. The service is fast and the waiters are always very friendly and attentive to you. I love all their cute denim aprons....lol I know it's just me. Today, I had the Cobb Salad. Geez, this is huge for a lunch portion. The bacon has a great flavor. The turkey doesn't taste like deli meat and spring mix is as fresh as it comes. I like to watch my weight so olive oil and lemon on the side instead of the ranch dressing. Oh, delicious. They serve with a side of bread, but I am gluten free so well you know. I am dying to eat it! Please get with the times and let's have gluten free bread as an option. It's 2017! Won't knock ya for a star for that, but it's time. The kale juice is right up there with the kind I like to make back home. Taste fresh and I could seriously drink 2 glasses. Loving the new decor. Not that good. We had a crummy server. Food came out at different times and was mediocre. I had the chorizo omelette and there was hardly any chorizo in it. We told the server it was our first time there and this was after she immediately came to table (literally as soon as we sat down) and asked if we were ready to order, and still she gave no insight as to what were her favorites etc. She just disappeared for an exceptionally long time. She never told us you pay at the counter, just again disappeared for an exceptionally long time. Finally, came around and casually mentioned we should go up front to pay, we asked about coffee to purchase, but she told us they wouldn't have any more until beginning of next year. Went out for breakfast at 10am today by myself. First Watch was absolutely packed with people standing outside as well. Don't let that discourage you though because the popularity is for a good reason. Awesome food and excellent service. One key feature I enjoyed, since dining alone, was the community table. An 8 person seating area that's first come first serve. Unlike a bar where you face forward towards the kitchen at other diners, you may end up across from a total stranger, where you can either strike up a conversation or do your own thing. We all ended up sharing condiments, coffee, and discussing the foods we ordered and general small talk. It was a great experience I totally wasn't expecting. The waitperson showed up with my very own pot of coffee too. I didn't have to order coffee then wait. That was a plus right off the bat while I perused the unique menu. I went for the Floridian French Toast: three massive pieces of whole wheat FT covered in bananas, strawberries, and kiwi slices. The fruit was sweet and fresh. It came with raspberry jam which I'm not partial to but if you are I'm sure it's a great addition. I added a side of sausage links which were move flavorful than expected. The breakfast food was all in all very delicious and the experience, including waitstaff service, was excellent. I even got coffee to go.
