I have never had a bad or a mediocre breakfast from First Watch. Always, always have had the most delicious breakfast. I am not a coffee drinker but every so often I do get a coffee and it is so darn good absolutely enjoyed it. My server Joshua, was so kind. He poured my coffee for me, and left the carafe of coffee for me to refill my own. He let me look over the menu for a few minutes and then came back. I gave him my order. Biscuits and eggs. I also added a side of bacon. Only a few minutes went by and my food was sitting in front of me, piping hot. I can't even describe how delicious everything was. The biscuits, who ever makes these is a genius. How are they so fluffy inside with just a very slight crunch on the outside then they're smothered in turkey sausage gravy. It's epic. Mind blowing. Bacon, that's cooked to perfection. There are people who like crispy bacon, and then there are people who like it done right. And First Watch does it right. It's crispy, but not crunchy crispy. Still a little soft and chewy. Eggs, I asked for fried over medium, and that's exactly how they came out. Soft, a little runny, but not too runny. Perfect. I eat eggs daily and they were cooked just like I cook them at home. The hash brown potatoes were great too. Firm and crisp on the outside but firm/soft inside. They didn't fall apart when I stuck my fork in them. They still held together nicely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was pretty quiet this morning. The day after Christmas and it was pretty early still when I got there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was trying to figure out how to do a Google review. And Joshua was so kind to help me. I think because I've done one before a long time ago, I can't redo a review unless I delete my old one and write a new one. I'm more of a Yelper reviewer. So here I am, giving another 5 star review update. Joshua was a delight. Thank you for helping me and giving such great service.

1/2 - From traditional egg platters to omelets and healthy menu choices, First Watch is a sure bet for breakfast in Austin. The food is consistently fresh and delicious -- an easy five stars for flavor and quality. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and speedy with pouring coffee when sitting down. Where it falls a bit short is in attention to detail where most true diners shine. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small things like empty sugar packets, used plastic creamers, and a bit of trash left around the plate kept it from being a perfect five-star experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With a little more focus on those finishing touches, it would easily be one of the best restaurant-diner in town.

My friend and I split the chicken pesto quinoa bowl and the strawberry tres leches french toast. I was pleasantly supprised at how much I enjoyed the chicken pesto bowl and I thought it was seasoned well. I wish the strawberry tres leches french toast was a bit creamier and less airy though. The service was quick, fast and great.But the food was not Okay, here's my rating of the new dish that first watch put out, which would be the shrimp and grits plate. being a Southerner, shrimps and grits is something That's you indulge in every so often not every day, not every week, sometimes not every month. But when you do indulge in shrimp and grits, you want it to be immaculate, you want it to be flavorful, you want it to be busting with season. Well, first watch this will be the first time that I will rate a dish from you all with two thumbs down. This dish taste it as if someone cooked it in someone church's basement with limited access to seasoning. The presentation of the food was too much. You couldn't see the grits because of all of the extracurricular vegetation that was surrounding the grits, and covering the grits and hiding the grits.. This is a southern dish. This is a dish that you do not put on a menu unless you know you can really come with it. I'm going to take this as a trial era and give this dish another try. If it's still around in a couple of months and see if it's been improved, and also to see if you actually listen to your customers Recommendations. I took a loss on this.I felt like I wasted money. reviews like this can only help to improve the business. You gotta have customers who tell you the truth. When you're good, we'll let you know when you're good when you bet. We'll let you know that you're bad

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place so I went in with very low expectations. The food was pretty good! I enjoyed the breakfast sandwhich with the chicken sausage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place looked and felt very clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and service was attentive though I will say it took almost an hour to get our food on a slow Tuesday morning. Other than that it was good and would come again!

Came here a few times and it has always been consistently good. I usually start off my meal with some coffee and move into a juice. I love the different options they have for your meal (breakfast and brunch menu all day). I highly recommend the million dollar bacon if you like syrup on your bacon at home and also the pancakes!

We returned as our start to our Staycation. I tried the breakfast tacos with cajun chicken and chorizo with black beans. Side of Chicken sausage patties and ham. The chicken sausage was amazing as usual. The tacos were large, stuffed to overflowing but kind of bland. If the chicken or chorizo hahad spice you couldn't taste it. The ham was also good. Shana tried the black beans as she prefers them and they were ok. She got fresh market veggie oomelet and stated it was delightful and that the eggs were fluffy af. The staff was pleasant and fast. Less Christmas decor at this place then others. The alcohol is VERY limited so keep that in mind. It is usually busy but we got lucky and had a less busy time. The last visit didn't go as well but this one and previous ones before that did.

The bad reviews are irrelevant. If you don't want a wholesome meal, go to McDonald's next door. Every meal I've ever had here has tasted so delicious and fresh. Today I had a smoked wild Alaskan salmon frittata with greens, their famous million dollar bacon (a MUST,) + a kale, apple, cucumber, lemon juice. Central Texas does not have enough places like this where I feel like I could order something healthy, or not so healthy all in the same restaurant. They've got seasonal options which I really appreciate like their pumpkin cinnamon roll! Seriously, go here for breakfast/brunch--you will not regret it! I'd eat here every day if I could. After a 45 minute wait, we waited another 30 minutes for our lukewarm omelets and rubbery gluten free barely toasted toast. Then we waited almost ten mintes in a line to check out. This location needs to be renamed "First (you) Wait!" The only bright spot was our young chatty waitress. read more

Great food and friendly staff, but I don't think this location is managed well. Twice in the past three months they've been out of a particular ingredient which has made one of their breakfast bowls unavailable (one of the first items on their menu, not some obscure plate), and you don't find this out until you try to place your order. I wrote it off the first time, but twice in such a short period of time -- maybe I'm just unlucky. Maybe send a runner to the H‑E‑B (next door) or the Randalls (across the street) to pickup the missing ingredient? I'll keep coming because the food is great, but not being able to serve primary items on your menu is a big turn-off to your customers. read more

As it is COVID I will be brief out boy waiter just walked toward our table licking his fingers!!!!eweewe ! Then he doesn't know the soup Of the day! This spot is worth the wait, definately waitlist on their site as it can be more than an hour queue. What struck me most is you can have the main stream or heathy or mix it up! My absolute favorite place for breakfast, I have super sensitive stomach and I have tried a lot of their menu items and they are so good for my stomach!! I had never had something I didn't like. My favorite is the farmhouse skillet, but always try the seasonal menu bc they will surprise you! Also if you don't eat a lot, their portions are huge so you can take leftovers or share a meal with someone! Ps. Visited website, got on the wait list. Arrived 30 mins later (quoted time 30-45 mins) checked in at the front, about 5 mins later received a text, our table was ready. We were greeted by our server a couple mins after we sat. She got our drinks and our kid's food in(oatmeal with fruit). Our food came out after our kid's food, perfect! Food was great! This place caught my eye while driving past the other day. I decided to stop by to check it out. The menu has got a good selection. Since it was my first go, I figured I'd give the Traditional Breakfast a shot. Keep it simple. The food was great. Potatoes could have used an extra minute or 2 on the griddle. Nothing a splash of ketchup couldn't fix. Service was great. Sunny was her name. Very attentive and answered any questions I had. Request her if you get the chance. I'll be back to see what else is good on their menu. I noticed the place doesn't show up in many searches. Even when you specifically filter 'breakfast.' They might get a little better business if they can figure that out. read more

We stopped by with a party of 9 and asked to be seated outside so we wouldn't have to wait for a table. Dining during COVID is already a tough go but I cannot overstate the amazing experience I had here. Our waitress was new but the lack of dialogue wasn't horrendous. The sandwiches I ordered were perfect and the salad was wonderful as well. My friend with celiac was content with her meal so I cannot complain. I will be back. read more

We were looking for a great brunch spot nearby, and found this first Watch. We've made it our new go-to spot! The presentation, the service and the food are ALL. Really nice place for brunch with a GF. They have really nice coffee and I loved the fresh juices.. Wasn't crazy about the mimosa. I enjoyed the steel cut oatmeal which came with fruit and a muffin. My friend had an omelette the size of her head that she was really happy with. The serving sizes on everything are huge so be ready to take a doggy bag home! read more

My dish had 4 small shrimp (which I ate) a lot of anduille sausage bits, and a lot of flavorful sauce over these soupy cheesy grits that was not what I expected. It was served as a "soup" with a spoon. There was some toasted bread on the side of the bowl. While everything was very flavorful, I did not like the soupy consistence, it was unexpected for me. My daughter's biscuits and gravy, on the other hand, needed more gravy... she liked the dish but she felt her gravy was too little for the serving. Then she also ordered a half order (1) pancake with cinamon roll French toast and we took that home. It had good flavor! If your goal is to settle in with your drink, get there when they open at 9:00 because those seats disappear faster than free samples at Costco. My next personal mission is figuring that out because I clearly need this knowledge in my life.) Now... the drinks. Every single one we've tried has been exceptional. My personal happy place is their matcha lineup. The Strawberry Matcha? Outstanding. The Strawberry Cloud Matcha? Equally fantastic. The matcha is beautifully vibrant without that bitter, overly grassy punch that turns so many people away. The strawberry complements it instead of overpowering it, creating a drink that's balanced, refreshing, and somehow disappears far too quickly. It should be mentioned, that the noise level here is fairly high with all the patrons and children. They do have outdoor seating, including both an inside and outside breakfast bar. The first bar of measurement is the coffee. We were served a dark roast, which is somewhat comparable to what you get at Starbucks, but I'm not a fan of those creamer pods 3*. The good news is that they bring you an endless pot of coffee. We ordered the blueberry lemon cornbread in hopes that it come out first, but they forgot it. When it arrived, it was topped with a lemon custard. I'd recommend skipping the pancake and go with this choice, although it did remind me of that Jiffy cornbread with freeze dried blueberries. We chose the Athlete and the trifecta. Those choices were basically good and some yelpers draw comparisons to Denny's, but we thought it was a little better. For the money, it's worth a return visit. Service was also attentive. You can pay with a QR code on your receipt or visit the checkout station where the tip screen starts at 18%. Some additional points of interest is the fact that you will have to ask for water, I was pleased to see that they do offer real maple syrup for an additional charge, no credit card fee and there is ample parking. The bread for the Benedict was quite tough, making it hard to cut, and the hollandaise sauce lacked some flavor. Nonetheless, the juice was definitely the highlight of my meal. During our visit, I was wearing a long white skirt when an accident happened--glasses were accidentally dropped next to me, shattering and spilling red liquid onto my skirt in several spots. The server sincerely apologized, and I asked for a Tide pen to try and clean the stains. She said she would check with her manager and come back, but unfortunately, she never returned to our table. Since the spill occurred before our food arrived, they didn't offer to clean my skirt or provide a discount. I tried to wash the stain out before it set, but I was still wearing a wet skirt. Luckily, I had a spare pair of pants in the car--though they didn't match my outfit, I was grateful to have something dry to change into for brunch.

So I ate cold eggs, etc. My tea glass was empty so I flagged someone to bring me a refill. She took my glass and came back empty handed and told me because they were closing they had already dumped the tea out. She walked off and then I realized I didn't even have water to drink. I had to ask someone else if I could please have some water. I finished my meal fuming. A small silver lining is that after all this the manager came over and told me that she was comping my meal. So this review was going to be one star, but not charging me upped it to 2 stars. I will stick with the Metric location in the future and won't return to the 620 restaurant.
