Baked Focaccia
Ryen B.

What can I say about this place that I haven't said before? It's consistently fantastic- all of it. The food, the music, the energy, the drinks- both regular and n/a options. A few items on the menu have been given a fall flavor twist since my last visit, and they are worth checking out. The burrata served on miso-kabocha squash puree with a drizzle of chili crisp may be the best version of this creamy, cheesy app ever. And the huge serving of pumpkin tiramisu somehow manages to be light and airy- soaking the ladyfingers in amaro- genius. Fish is perfectly cooked and salad greens super fresh. Love, love, love.

LITTLE JERRY

This was a MUST when we spent the weekend in Phoenix. Wish we had time to try both their lunch and dinner but we got lucky to catch their lunch sandwiches. Parking is behind the building and in the parking structure and it's FREE! Which is rare for downtown anywhere but yay for Phoenix historic district! Order at the counter, get a number, pick a table. There's upstairs loft seating too which was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle. There's a bar area too! The four of us shared: 1. The Bosco (my personal favorite), the family gave it a 3.5/5 they very much so prefer hot sandwiches 2. The Little Jerry (my husband's favorite), the family gave it a 4.5/5 3. Pasta Bolognese 2/5, lacked in flavor and couldn't really taste the bacon 4. Cesar salad (my mom was dying for a salad) and she added the chicken cutlet and she gave it a 5/5! Overall, we really enjoyed the spot and if we are ever in Phoenix again we would happily go back. Water is complimentary and self serve. Utensils, napkins and to go boxes too!

MAESTRO & LITTLE JERRY

First & Last is a perfect sandwich brunch spot if you're nearby! Super friendly staff, a great 2 story seating selection, and awesome variety of entrees to choose from. This time around, I tried the Maestro sandwich and the Little Jerry with a friend. Definitely prefer the Little Jerry's more cohesive bites of chicken and vodka sauce with the backend having pesto to pair. Wonderful taste and texture all throughout this sandwich. The Maestro was also great, but definitely gets a bit salty for me personally because of all the slices of assorted Italian cuts. Overall, a great sandwich spot (with more) to study at, bring friends to chat, or just enjoy a meal before checking out the Japanese Friendship Garden nearby!

Our dinner experience here was amazing. Drinks and food were on point. Our server, Justin, was kind and knowledgeable and fun! We got to sit upstairs and that was a neat experience. It felt private and comfortable and exclusive. We ordered the calamari. Ooo weee! Very, very good. We also ordered the lemon pasta dish, seasonal burrata and the clam dish. Together, the clams and pasta dish, become a synonymous pairing. They also hold up well on their own accord. For dessert we ordered the pistachio tiramisu and a cappuccino. The cappuccino came in a clear plastic cup, and I felt all of these amazing wonder women vibes reminding me of the see through plane she rode around in. Epic. First and Last is definitely a go to place to visit!

Super yummy and a beautiful space!! We came in around 1 PM on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty busy. We ordered at the counter and got a number before getting our own table (wasn't difficult since there was plenty of seating). We ordered the Rochelle Rochelle and a seasonal grandma slice which was a mushroom and caramelized onion square. For $23, the Rochelle Rochelle was HUGE and so worth it. We split a sandwich between the both of us and it was just the perfect amount. Piled high with crispy onions and filled with flavorful beef, the sandwich was a beast. The pizza slice was my favorite since it wasn't super heavy but had a strong mushroom/truffle flavor I loved. I do wish there were more onions in the slice but it was delicious nonetheless. Overall, I would definitely come back for the sandwiches since they have many options! Ratings Rochelle Rochelle: 4/5 Seasonal grandma slice: 4.5/5

Amazing. I've been wanting to try their lunch sandwiches forEVER and let me tell ya, this still exceeded my expectations. I got the Little Jerry which is the chicken parm sandwich. The flavor was elite. The shredded parm on top was like sprinkles of heaven. Their servers and staff were so friendly and attentive. It's also beautiful inside. Truly well thought out and designed. Plenty of indoor seating, and upstairs!, as well as outside patio dining. I want to try their dinner menu, but I do have a feeling I'll be wanting to come back regularly for that Jerry.

we loved this place for a filling lunch! your order at the counter then go get your water and drinks and find a table and they bring you your food. everything came super fast for being do fresh too. we came for The Little Jerry (not so little) and also ended up getting the bacon sourdough bolognese as well. everything tasted so so yummy. i think you can definitely share the sandwich tho as it was too much for me to finish during our visit. definitely a must visit for the good food and amazing laid back ambience.

2nd time coming here! Love the food :) the prices are a bit higher but it covers for great quality and taste. It's a 2-story setting with unique decor to set the ambience. The indoor plants add a natural touch to the environment. Staff is friendly and has an open view of the bar and kitchen. Also, please don't publicly embarrass yourself -- the side of the bar has extra plates, utensils and whatnot on the side as self-service lol. I'm just moderately blind My personal 10/10 favorite has to be the yada yada sandwich! But lil Jerry is also a top tier choice. The Torres black truffle chips has a strong flavor too! My partner and I absolutely loved it. ٩( )و

First time visiting and already can't wait to come back! We made reservations for dinner and had a fantastic meal. The service was great from the moment we walked in. We started off with the Cast Iron Baked Focaccia, wow. So, so good! Very filling though so definitely split it. Main courses we ordered the Bacon Sourdough Bolognese and Truffle Cacio e Pepe dishes. Some of the best pasta I've had in Phoenix. Absolutely recommend both! They have a good selection of drinks, cocktails, and a few beers. The vibe instead is very intimate, excellent date night spot. Overall, I was very impressed with our experience and meals!

Brick Chicken Marsala

First time here and definitely not the last! Was only in town for a night and this restaurant looked very promising on Yelp, decided to dine here and did not regret one bit. The food, service, and ambiance is impeccable! Sat at the bar because we came in through the back entrance accidentally, and it was first come first serve like anywhere else. Didn't get the name of the servers/bartenders but they made sure I was well taken care of with quick water refills. Started off with the burrata salad that came with strawberries and focaccia bread. Pro tip is to cut the bread in half and pile in the salad to make a small sandwich. Next, I had the brick chicken Marsala, which comes with a breast and thigh on a bed of mash potatoes and Marsala mushroom sauce. Dish was divine, the thigh was a little under, but service was top notch and replaced the dish entirely with a brand new one cooked to perfection. Ended the meal with the seasonal creme; a vanilla custard with rhubarb and tarragon, absolutely delish! Highly recommend!

NADINA S.

Soo yummy and it came out so fast. The Parmesan on top of the sandwich gave it a good taste.

jacqueline s.

Came here for lunch and the sandwiches were incredible! It's a bummer that they only serve them until 3pm, I would love it if they extended those hours but if you can make it before 3 I highly recommend! Parking can be tough so plan accordingly

sandwich left me wanting more white stuff in the middle....

When the parking garage is full next to it, where is the next good place to park?

There is free street parking on 3rd Ave, 2nd Ave & Portland St to the west. There are also other parking lots just east of us on Portland.…

Is it baby friendly?

I wouldn't describe it that way

Was it loud inside?

A little but not to the point you couldn't hear each others conversation.

Is the pasta homemade?

We proudly use locally made Sonoran Pasta Co. for most of our pasta dishes. As our menu rotates often we also make some pastas in house such as seasonal stuffed pastas & gnocchi.

Are walk-in accepted or do you have to make a reservation?

Walk ins are accepted. They have a beautiful full service bar too

This is very cool joint with a dark feel too it. They have a basement bar which we ventured into and they also have an upstairs bar as well, so you can fit a lot of drunk People in there. It also features a lot of great art that fits really highlights the Mexican bar vibe. The waitress/bar tender/ agave expert was very welcoming and know a lot about their tequilas and mescal option. I love me some smokey mescal, I dont remember thet name of the drink but it had some kind of elote triple sec or something like that along with Mescal and it was quite tasty. Trust me I was in no state to remember ingredients but this is from my foggy memory. I also got a pick of the cool ice blocks that has an Agave inlay that they put in the tumbler with your drink. I will definitely be going back for their wide Mescal and tequila options. I didn't see food in the bar, but they have a food truck out front that smelled amazing, but sometimes I simply dont want to eat when there are plenty of drinks to be had. They do have Esquites, Tacos, Quesadillas, Mini Chimis, and loaded fries. I will have to do another review on the food when I am not out being a borracho. They do take reservations and host private parties which would make for one raucous Christmas party if you don't work at a Christ loving conservative company like me. You can also order bottles of mescal and pick it up on location which is pretty awesome as especially after trying out the selection. Happy hour is every weekday that they are open to try out some of their cocktails. This is a great option to impress your tinder date if you are a lush like me pr want to show of your sophisticated drinker side.

My party and I had a reservation on a Saturday night at 9pm (when it's 13 people, what can you do). What kind of sucked though (and mainly why I'm deducting a star) is that we did wait an additional half hour to be seated after our reservation time. Our theory is that they didn't think the entire party would actually arrive, and they were not ready to accommodate us. To be fair, the restaurant IS on the smaller side, but there was 0 communication during that half hour on what was going on... which isn't really good for us either. We got the original set, and this somewhat confused me as well. The food was really good, and was definitely a restaurant that I'd go to for the experience, but for some reason some of the meats were doubled while others weren't. The double portions were really nice since our party was so large, we needed to split the food between 4 different grills (so each table got 2 grills each, feeding 6-7 people in total or 3-4 people per grill), but then we had to share the portions where we only got one serving. It wasn't bad, but to me, didn't make sense. The food was really good though; I didn't care too much about the soup, but the green sauce was SO good. Mixing a little with the soup was incredible. I thought the beef and pork were really good. I personally left the restaurant full, but many others in my party did not. I think it's a really good amount of food for 2 people, but when you push to 3+, you probably do not want to come hungry. Also--the live music at Pemberton next door is SO LOUD, you're going to be shouting at your table the entire night when you sit outside. I think I would come back if I wanted to show this place to someone who didn't live here, but it isn't on the top of my list for when I'm trying to eat out, but I will definitely consider this for special date night occasions. It is extremely expensive for what it is though. For $70+ you risk the chance of leaving not full which SUCKS.
