Another place added to my lunch list. For cheap Japanese food, I usually go to Kazy's, but it's so slow there. Since I have limited time for lunch, I need something quick, cheap, and tasty. There isn't much around this area, so I was very excited to find this place. Everything I tried so far is pretty good, except for the fried rice that comes with the combo. It's not a true fried rice, but I can overlook that with how affordable their food is. What I had so far is the scallop and shrimps with veggies, stir fried chicken udon, shrimp tempura roll, California roll, volcano roll, and rock roll. But the best value has to be the hibachi chicken with fried rice combo for $3.99, all day every day. Can't beat that. I'll definitely go back to try their bento soon. One thing I can't stand about this place is the smell. It doesn't smell bad, but the kitchen is very open so the stir fry smell spreads throughout the whole restaurant (this isn't a big place FYI). 3 stars? I know, right?! But I think I know why. I came by myself for lunch and made the mistake of ordering the steak (ribeye) bento box rather than trying different kinds of sushi. The steak was surprisingly soft and tender with lots of flavor but I felt there was way too much sauce. The accompanying squash and broccoli bits were limp because they were drowned in sauce. I think If it came with just a little bit of rice I think I would have been happier because at least then it could soak up some of the extra sauce. Tempura veggies were perfect as were the gyoza that came with the box. The little container, which I thought was miso soup was actually a dipping sauce for my gyoza. Thanks for pointing that out, Griffin H. The highlights were the 2 pieces of eel sushi that I ordered in addition to my bento box. The eel pieces were big, still warm, and fatty with just the right amount of sauce drizzled on them wrapped snugly in the perfect amount of rice for that 1 bite. In hindsight I should have stayed away from the bento box and stick with just the sushi because even the california roll that came with my bento box was great. 3 stars for now until I can revisit and give their sushi a real try. I love this spot! It's kind of a hidden gem, so if you're not really paying attention you can totally miss it! My boyfriend and I always come here for cheap--yet tasty food! When you first arrive it has a drive through and it's pretty small, it maybe has about 10 tables. But the service and the food is great especially for the price! For $20 drinks, white rice, a bento box, with chicken, pot stickers, California rolls, and tempura veggies. My boyfriend gets the spicy combination fried rice which is probably one of the best tasting fried rice we've both ever had, it's well seasoned and made on the hibachi grill.! If it weren't for yelp, I probably would've never visited here. Based on the location, how it looks, it looks like food poisoning waiting to happen. Instead, this is a hidden gem of Dallas/Garland that offers exceptional Japanese in a no frills environment. Although most of the traffic is drive-thru, you can eat inside. I ordered the Hibachi chicken bento box, as well as the cowboy roll. For $6, the bento box blew me away. Everything within the Bento box went beyond my expectation. Delicious, tender, juicy chicken they didn't feel like rubber or gristle. The broccoli that surround it it was steam to just right, and soaked in the sauce quite well. A California roll that had class, but Knew its place being made with cream cheese. The tempura battered vegetables were wonderful. The tempura had a great flavor, didn't feel greasy, have a great crisp texture. The gyoza had a great texture and flavor, although they could've been a little bit hotter temperature wise. The dipping sauce that comes with it complemented it quite well. For being six dollars, I was blown away with the quality of this Bento box. Not a single item felt like filler. The cowboy roll is quite satisfying. My only real complaint with it is the fish could've been more fresh. Otherwise, it have a good amount of sauce that didn't drown the plate, the sauces had great flavor, and the roll itself was quite sturdy. In all my time on this Earth, I've only had sushi a couple of times. It's a rare, god-sent treat that I reserve for special occassions. Being alone this Valentine's Day was that special occasion. Not having a ton of money this place popped up under my search for budget sushi and let me tell you, this place is punching above it's class. Firexbox, for as odd as it's name is, is an absloute jewel in far east Dallas. I had the New York roll, a shrimp tampura roll topped with crab meat. This is a 5 star drive thru. They are rare, but Firexbox has got one. I ordered 2 hibachi chicken and one hibachi fried rice with chicken. $17 with tax. My jaw dropped when they handed me my order. It must have weighed 8 pounds. We drove a ways, parked, and started on lunch in the car. It was seriously excellent. And so much for so little. Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. I caught the location out of the corner of my eye and thought hibachi sounded excellent! I ordered the chicken bento box and it was great! We really did not know what to expect--and almost turned around to leave when we found out it was Japanese fast food. But the Yelp reviews were very positive so we decided to give it a try, and the restaurant was remarkably good. The prices are quite reasonable and the quality of food is high. The bathrooms are clean, the service is helpful and friendly, so all in all it was a positive experience. We started with Gyoza, 8 for $2.99. They were light and flavorful, and not at all greasy. We shared the Hibachi Salmon, and the salmon was very flavorful and cooked well ($7.99). It came on a huge serving of rice, onion, and broccoli. The flavors melded well and I liked it a lot. The leftovers are enough for another lunch. We also shared two sushi rolls, one with spicy salmon and spicy tuna, and another with regular (not spicy) tuna and a salmon. For $6.49 per roll there was nothing to complain about and the fish tasted fresh. We were very pleasantly surprised at the remarkably good food for a very reasonable price. Over the years I've seen countless restaurants come and go at this location, but don't let it put you off. This place deserves to stay in business. read more

You really get what you pay for here, especially with the bento boxes and hibachi options. The chicken hibachi is really a steal at $5, and large enough my wife and I can split it if we get a sushi roll or two. Not the best sushi I've had, but it's middle of the road quality befitting of the price. The vegetable tempura is good but a little greasy, but it's hot and crisp and the veggies are fresh. Inexpensive quality sushi. This place reminds me of Tampopo on Greenville but the sushi is much tastier and more Americanized. Two people ordered 4 rolls and was about $30. The place is either drive through or order at the counter. We opted for inside since we weren't familiar to the menu. The staff is very polite and each roll we ordered was made fresh right in front of us. While waiting I witnessed a couple come in who had called in an order to skip the wait, which for us was about ten minutes. We will probably phone it in next time since the dining area was a bit warm and smelled of fryer grease. I don't think they use the vent a hood and is a really small place. After puking my guts out for two days i finally can write this review. Went through the drive thru and ordered Spicy Tuna roll and my boyfriend a Crunchie Roll. We also settled on an appetizer of tempura shrimp. My Roll looked weird and light pink on the bottom so i stopped eating halfway through. My boyfriend, however was completely fine as he didn't have any of my roll. a few hours later i am in EXCRUCIATING pain. After reading all the great reviews, I decided to come check this place out. Firexbox reminded me of Chopstixx on Walnut and since they had the same workers, I'm assuming it's owned by the same person. Well I love Chopstixx and Firexbox is practically the same thing but instead of entrees like orange chicken and beef broccoli, they have bentos and hibachi. The food was great considering how cheap everything was. I got the salmon bento box and it was way more than I could eat by myself for only $7-8. It came with a generous amount of salmon, 3 pieces of veggie tempura and four pieces of California roll. Everything was good. My fiancé got the hibachi chicken which was only $4. Good but for $3 more, you'd be getting more for your money by getting the bentos. If I was in the area and needed a quick and cheap lunch, I would come back again but nothing to go out of my way for. read more

It's good, fast, inexpensive Japanese food. I was in the mood for veggies but also wanted some chicken so I ordered both the veggie and chicken entrees with fried rice, for a total of $10.50! This was more than enough food for two large meals. Only thing I really really wanted was some ginger sauce to go along with it. Really love this place I ordered the BB1 and switch the sushi rolls to fried rice. Not that I don't like sushi but I can not eat raw fish. The food was to perfection tasted all good. They added mushrooms, and I'm not a big fan. Next time I will tell them to leave it out. I like it when they take time to cook my food get a self satisfaction.
