This finish line store is different than the other shoe store in the mall. What set this store apart Was the excellent customer service. I went into the store just to browse for a jacket. But then DRIA decided to help me and changed everything. She was extremely attentive to me and my needs. She was knowledgeable of the different brands of shoes and offered solid suggestions on alternative choices when I couldn't make up my mind. Finally she was really good about suggesting complimentary products for my purchase (in this case a sweet cleaning kit to go along with my Jordan 9s that she suggested and which I love. To top it off, Dria is like the nicest person... and she is the manager of the store! She probably had better things to do than help me, but she took the time and made my visit to the store extra special. If you ever go to this location, you will be pleasantly surprised. Oh Dear, its new Nike time at my house. My husband only wears Nike's. He only buys me Nike's too. Its a strange thing my husband does when he decides on shoes. It takes him weeks of scouting out the place to decide on the one pair that will be his. This time it was 3 weeks. I went the first time. He went one more time. Then the 3rd and final trip we made the purchase. My one complaint is they really do push the add on selling here. When my husband asked for the destined shoes in his size they bring out 2 more that he might like. Which looked nothing like the shoes he wanted. He didn't even bother looking at them twice. Then the sales guy tried pushing insoles on him. My husband tried them just to be nice but since hes diabetic he has to be very careful with his shoes and what he "inserts" in them. He politely declined. But this place, according to my husband, has constantly had the best prices on just the right kind of Nike's he wants. Now for me, Lady Foot Locker has the best selection of better styles but not the pricing that this place has. Get your Nike on here! read more

Excellent Customer Service!!! I walked in just to check out the styles & I literally walked out buying a pair of shoes and dreaming about the other 2, I went online and bought them too!!! So let's start with sales clerk Derrick - I was minding my own business, feeling smelly after an HIIT workout and went in to check on some styles. Initially the white Nike's I'm trying on caught my eye... and it was on sale for $49!!! After 5-8min of no one, and finding 2pairs I wanted to try , here comes Derrick and he kindly gets me my shoes. Embarrassed I had no socks on I asked for store socks they let you try on with. So happy this store does that!!! Without any judgement Derrick grabs a sock that I can try the shoes on with. Noticing my choice in white, he goes on a Infomercial style showcase of some shoe cleaning product! Yes it was amazing, most people I can imagine rolling their eyes as this demo takes time but for some reason I was entertained. The store should just do hourly demos on that instead of individual as it's interesting and eye opening to see how this product works so well to keep your shoes spic n span! Stores beginning to get busy but more people walking in and out and Derrick tells me second shoe we can order online in my size. But I'm scared bcuz what if it's wrong, so he grabs something similar for me to try and a 7 fits perfectly. Now here I am thinking how great this shoe fits, feels... and style is pretty nice. I imagined me trailing running in these, HIIT, sprints... etc. I'm beginning to like these. Now I've already taken about 30 min of derricks time and he patiently waited. No rush he just let me decide what I wanted to get with no stress. That is huge!!! I appreciated his patience and customer service I ended up choosing the grey shoes!!! Yay! But then I got home and saw the winners circle card and decided to check online, and yes still dreaming of the other 2shoes! The shoes were on sale, and... Went in excited to buy some new shoes with my husband and received some of the most disrespectful customer service in a while. Two young adult employees were standing at the door and rather than greeting customers they ignored us and kept chit chatting. When we tried to get the male's attention (Austin), he ignored us and kept chatting with his coworker until my husband had to start clapping the shoes for him to look at us and help us. He responded back at us saying there was no need to clap the shoes, but it was the last resort when no one would offer us service. Will definitely be going to a manager about this. read more

I literally went to finish line in the SunValley Mall to buy some shoes for my son. They had a line to go into the store which you can except since it was a Saturday. We are line for about 10-15 minutes waiting for our turn to go in. Well a lady walks up from shopping in the mall and says her husband is in the store and the worker Alec lets her right in!!! WTH we have been waiting in line and this lady gets to go right in just because she says her husband is in the store!!! Not right at all she should have waited just like everyone else was!!!! I called the store and the manager MINDY was beyond rude and sarcastic!!!! She found nothing wrong with what her employee had done!!! I live in San Ramon and was calling around everywhere for a particular shoe. Finish Line ended up having the shoe I was wanting and was willing to put it on hold. My interaction today was with Julie. As soon as I got there she was very quick to get me my shoes. But I open my wallet and I forgot my credit card at home. So she said I'll hold them again for you. As soon as I came back and Julie saw my in line she waved and quickly got on her system to communicate to get my shoes from the back. For retail and my interaction with her today it was one of the best displays of customer service I've had in a long time from a retail store. Julie went well above and beyond. So my sister gifted my son a pair of shoes. Apparently these brand of nikes run small. I call Finish Line is SF and Concord and they dont have the shoe to exchange. Concord was jnformed of situstion and said I could exchange them. Mind you i dont have receipt, which was disclosed during call. I drive from San Pablo during tge week to exchange. Then the same guy i spoke with, he remembered the call, was like you need a receipt. Now im confused of what conversation he remebers as I just wasted my fucking time, gas and rest for nothing!!!!! read more

So last month I came to the store with my wife, I didn't need any help but she did so this very friendly girl named Brenda helped her out. Brenda was very helpful, she introduced herself in a very kind and professional way and also introduced the rest of the employees. Since my wife is EXTREMELY picky, I'd expect that Brenda would get annoyed but I was wrong. She knows her stuff, we had her running back and forth for shoes and she seemed like she was happy about helping us. Also, our kids loved her and my daughter even gave her a hug before we left. I told her that she was a great sales associate and also a very kind and honest person, and I also told her that I was going to write a yelp review about her superb work but I had forgot until yesterday when I seen her working and greeted her. Horrible customer service..tried to make a return here and the D-bag manager, Gary Dempsey tells me they can't accept my return because I purchased it online..basically tells me it's my fault and definitely does not treat me like a customer...he tells me to have customer service contact him..uhh isn't that your job if you don't even know your own policies? So... I call up customer service and after jumping through hoops, customer service tells me the manager, GARY is WRONG! And also that finish line "never talks to or treats their customers that way". So basically, the manager doesn't even know the proper protocol and I had to wait for an hour while the manager was in the backroom doing who knows what. Literally just had the worst experience in this store. I've never had a complaint, but today my girlfriend and I came in here shopping for a pair of nikes. Typically in these kinds of stores, they welcome you in and even offer to grab you a shoe size. We stood there with 2 shoes in our hands for several minutes while staring at all of the employees chatting and laughing and finally I went to the counter where they all were standing while my girlfriend sat on a shoe bench. They stared at me and I had to say hello first while they looked at me like I was lost. I asked if I could get a size in both shoes, and she rudely said she would and disappeared to the back. As she was walking back into the store with the shoes, I saw her walking so I kindly walked toward her to try and make her job easier, I reached my hand out to grab a box and she walked right past me and straight to my girlfriend with the shoes. She threw both of the boxes on the floor, not making eye contact once and explained what she brought because they didn't have the correct size and then walked away. Are you kidding me?! I ordered a pair of shoes during the Black Friday sales, when I received the shoes I got sent two left foot shoes. I called the store that shipped them out to me in Iowa and they told me to visit my nearest Finish Line to get it straightened out. Upon visiting the finish line in the Sun Valley mall the morning of 12/14/18 I spoke to the store manager. She informed me that the shoe I purchased was out of stock and I couldn't get the pair of shoes I wanted. I understood it wasn't her fault and asked if I could swap them with another pair of the same shoe in a different color way, she denied my request and said I'd have to pay the difference. I let her know I purchased online for the convenience but was now in store trying to fix Finish Line's mess up and she repeated that I can only return to get my money back or pay the difference for the same shoe in a different color way... so all in all I missed out on Black Friday sales, my time was wasted, and the store manager didn't care to fix the situation at all. The sales team that helped me select my new shoes blew me away. They gave a full explanation of the different styles of fitness shoes and what each was good for. The let me know which types of shoes were most popular right now and with which types of athletes. Customer service!!!???? Where? I walked in with a return went to the counter and stood there for 10 minutes texting and going over emails waiting...... I looked up no one around. Then I said to myself this is odd to have a floor full of people and no staff. So I walk to the back and sure enough 3 employees sitting in the back chillin. I said I need help please they scattered like roaches with the lights on!!!! I was surprised. Then I walk back out to the floor to the register wait another 8 minutes.... at this point Iam like I have to return the shoes but god this wait! Finally a women approaches and stares at me and says can I help you in a what do you want attitude. I simply said with all my restrain yes you can I have to return these shoes. Return took 10 minutes! One machine did not work so then we tried another. My experience was 30 minutes to return some shoes. Horrible customer service and equally horrible shoe selection. I guess Nike owns them because that's all they really had. I waited patiently for someone to come along but no one did. In the middle of a Saturday afternoon they had only 2 people working. One was at the register and one was running the floor. The one running the floor also was volunteering to be the mobile cashier too but that seemed nonsensical because no one was in line at the actual cash register. So we waited and waited along with other people scattered throughout the store while she did her mobile device thing, offering whatever rewards promotions, etc. In the meantime no one was in line at the cash register so I went up and asked for help and was immediately told that I had to wait for the floor person. So I waited.....finally after the floor person was done she walked right past me although she had seen me waiting, I had to flag her back down, I tell her my size and she goes and gets the shoes...surprise they don't have my size but she did bring me other sizes in the wrong color...I wanted black but she brought out bright blue. They need to work out a better, more customer friendly system and the staff need lessons on how to provide customer service. I had visited a couple of shoe stores before Finish Line and they may not have had my shoe size or selection but the customer service was great. Finish Line staff needs to take a lesson from Footlocker staff. I left Finish Line disgusted and will never go back. read more
