I really like this store. This particular store feels bigger than some of the other ones nearby, has a larger selection, is often organized and parking hasn't been bad. I love coming in to see what I may find today. You just never know when you may find some incredible bargain. But the customer service is unfortunately lacking. The individuals at the register are often rude and lack the basics of customer service. They also got rid of their scanning systems, which makes it less convenient and harder, as you have to wait in line at the changing room to get pricing. read more

This Nordstrom Rack isn't too bad. Like any outlet-type retail store, be prepared to dig. But like any outlet-type retail store, your shovel might strike something worthwhile during that dig. (Cowhide booties I found while Christmas shopping for everyone else, I'm looking at you.) I'm usually online if I'm dealing with Da Rack, but when I have shopped at this brick-and-mortar location, it's usually been worth the visit. Their clearance section is an absolute mess and the same is almost true of their shoe aisles. Unless you come when the store's doors just opened, it usually looks like a tornado just hit those rows. But again, if you're willing to dig, you might find something at a true steal. read more

Nice staff, clean shopping environment. I live right by another Rack and I found a lot more things I liked at this one. They have a good selection of clothes, and more young girl clothes than I've seen in other stores. I was able to find my 11-year-old dresses that she would actually wear. I'm not sure if y'all have a new manager or what's going on here but this was the cleanest most organized I've ever seen the store when I visited today. As someone who has worked in retail for longer than I'd like to admit, the racks were sized someone had taken the time to wax all of them which makes sorting through all of the clothing, so much easier, and the amount of people helping to ensure the line was being managed was definitely appreciated. Unfortunately, I didn't find as many clothes as I had wanted to because I found the selection not so great, but I will say that your organization and service standards are greatly improved from previous visits at this location. read more

I was in to do a return but instead I ended up doing an exchange for some sunglasses, the lady who assisted unlocking the sunglass cabinet said to give my name at the register, once I got to a cashier to give her my item to return I gave her the receipt and she says "what is this?! Does this go with this?!" It's a receipt for my item I'm returning what else would it be?! I tell her I have an item for exchange and it should be under my name the cashier says "what is it there's no name so is this it?!" The cashier named Erica my advice to you if you don't like your job or the presence of people or even assisting a customer you're in the wrong line of employment as for Nordstrom your stores use to uphold a better established ethic of customer service . Nordstrom Rack where the CVS Pharmacy to use to be at. It surely became a good store to be next to Safeway. A big clean store which they manage to keep clothes off the floor and on their clothes rack. A lot of people shopping here which can cause a long line to the register. Major issue is the parking. With the Safeway Gas Station it can be hard to find parking near by. Suggestion is the park where Wells Fargo Bank is at. It can be hard to find parking at this location. Not sure what people are complaining about having no space to move around, this place is awesome!! Beautiful layout (it's bigger than the average Rack locations around the Bay Area), ample parking (both surface & if you prefer the garage on the side of Safeway during extreme weather), clean & vibrant interior - which makes bargain hunting a real thrill to behold! The location is superb, as it's adjacent to Sun Valley Mall- the primary retail/dining/entertainment destination in the Concord metro! They carry a fantastic selection of product assortment - whether it be apparel, footwear, accessories, and any home knick-knacks you can find! I'm beyond thrilled to have it in this side of the interior East Bay! Another factor of having this Rack location, is the quality of their sales staff whom each delivered excellence in customer service. From the cash registers to those around the floor - and don't forget you'll need to ask an associate for a code to use their restroom! Despite the seldom times that I've asked for some assistance while shopping, I can't quite remember the last time I was actually helpfully assisted in a retail setting--and, this was by 3 of their workers, which suggests good hiring and training practices. Very impressive. Overall, this Nordstrom Rack location impressed me not just with its convenient location off I-680, and their massive selection of apparel & variety of shoes for men; but also with the exceptional customer service provided by the 3 associates I've gotten assistance from. I went to the store to make a return and had a very upsetting experience with one of the associates. From the beginning, she was rude to me. One of the items I was returning did not have a tag, which occasionally happens when items are shipped. She told me, in a harsh tone, that if I ever brought an item without a tag again, the return would not be accepted. I explained that the trousers had arrived that same day and were sent to me without a tag. Her response felt accusatory, as though I had done something wrong. When I mentioned that items should be sent with tags attached, she said she was not responsible and was only enforcing store policy. The situation escalated when she abruptly stopped the return, threw the items she had already processed back toward me, and loudly said, "I will not help you--go to someone else," while making dismissive gestures. I was very shaken and confused by the way I was treated, as I have never attempted to return worn items or abuse the return policy in any way. --She did not greet me when I approached, unlike the other cashiers, and appeared visibly upset. I left the store feeling shaken and had to take a moment before driving away. I asked for her name so I could follow up with a manager, but I was unable to get it. I hope the store can review the security footage to better understand what happened. I believe this situation could have been handled with much more professionalism and respect. read more

The customer service man in the shoe department went over and beyond to help me find Sandles for my daughter today, I appreciate that . However when I went to the purchase all my items up front I realized a white shirt I was going to purchase had a stain of some sort on it , I was willing to purchase as long as I received a discount . Because I may get home and can't get it out . The supervisor (least she said she was) told me it can't be marked down, if I want to go home try to get it out and come back I can .. but don't you think if I go home can't get it out and come back you guys would refuse it because it has a stain. 100% the opposite of a Nordstrom employee and it's shocking. Walk in with a Nordstrom return and they all pretend to be busy and this happens every single time I come in busy, slow. Weekends, weekdays --- same ol' same ol. Ross and Marshall's give better service. The only time they give good service is if you are doing an online order pickup. I've been a Nordstrom customer for decades and usually at this location everyone is very friendly - until today. Always when I go to be checked out they ask for my phone number. Every single time! I had returns today and every other time I have they ask for my phone number. Apparently Kelly P. has a problem with this method. She gave me major attitude saying I should have an email for the return. Well, I didn't and she mentioned it a few times. If she enters my number the past purchase info comes up so I don't need the email. This has never been an issue - until today. I really didn't appreciate her attitude and repeatedly telling me I need the email. I don't know what she was entering incorrectly but after scanning my Nordstrom Rack returns, she kept scanning my two Nordstrom returns repeatedly and they wouldn't take. Then she realized she had to push something and then it worked. I get that we are human and not everyone has a great day everyday but that doesn't mean you need to project negativity to a customer. I also found my favorite pair of pants there, Ezekiel 305 stretch jeans.... At 6'3 250 I need some comfort stretch and the pants and these were perfect... And only 29.99. Terrible management. They would not discount a near broken item. When I brought it to the cashier's attention he noted the defect but said their store policy does not discount (I understand it's already discounted, but it's defective too). They recommended I go to a store over 60 miles away. They offered for the tailor to get it fixed in the morning, but we're headed cross country tomorrow, we're not able to. When I explained this, they showed no reasonable option with my situation and didn't bother calling the manager, Caitlyn, saying it's not worth it since she would not budge. You find so many good deals in so many cute shoes from all different ranges of sizes. All on the back wall is nothing but shoes. The shoes are the best price things overall the clothes get a little bit pricey you can find a better deal online! I got two pairs of shoes for less than $100 & that tells me everything I need to know right there! They are legit shoes, they aren't fake just priced better since they are maybe returns or what didn't sale in stores? Not too sure but I loveee this place. The management isn't the best. I used to come here religiously with my mom and grandma and there would be long lines and the managers were all standing just staring or laughing and making jokes. I asked the cashiers y they can't help and was told they are not allowed to or don't have to cuz they have slaves (other cashiers). one of the mangers name was abby and she would always just stand and never help. I think now a little Asian girl is the manager since the last time I went and she has no clue what she's doing before was an Asian man. I think they only make Asian head mangers?? I see new cashiers every time I go and me and my mom had a favorite I think her name was Vida but they said she doesn't work there anymore. She was genuinely caring and understanding of basic human emotions than rather saying I can't do this or that because of a policy. my family loved her and were always thankful for her helping us out when we were late on a return or lost our receipt she would also do good at keeping the line moving but providing great customer service. It's always a bit challenging to shop in a store like Nordstrom Rack. You have to go through racks and racks of clothes to find a style and size you like, and many of the clothes seem to be made especially for the discount store rather than being top brands that are marked down. That said, I was looking for a pair of black booties when I entered this store, and I came away with a satisfactory pair for around $50. In fact, there were several different pairs of black booties in my size that would have worked. In other words, the shoe selection was really pretty good. Not many high end shoes (like Aquaitalia, Paul Green, Bruno Magli), but there were a lot of pretty good brands represented. I will probably visit this store again even though there is another Nordstrom Rack closer to home. It doesn't have as much merchandise. read more

This is by far the worst Rack I've ever been in! A couple of times I caught myself thinking I was in Ross. The fashions were god awful ugly and cheap quality. The staff gives zero Fs. None of the sizes are put back on the rack properly - every clothing rack I went to rarely had the size indicated in that section. The designer shoe section was a joke. Scary experience at Nordstrom rack in Sun Valley. This man kept following me around in every single aisle I was in, everywhere I went he popped up, I was starting to feel concerned for my safety when I was approaching the register right before I entered the register/checkout area, I was sorting through the items I was going to purchase and this man enters the line expecting me to go in checkout line, but I decided to change direction and went to the return section on the opposite side, as I wanted to ask questions about my Nordstrom credit card and he gets out of the checkout line and follows me there as well I was so uncomfortable, I do not know what this guy's deal is, but I took some photos of him. Easily a place to find some great unexpected steals. They have a lot of clearance sales with occasional additional markdowns on red lines. Their women's intimates section is surprisingly cute and at lower prices than suggested retail. The staff here is always polite and not aggressively pushy like some other stores can be. Dressing rooms are open now unlike most stores. Overall, the place is pretty clean. One important thing to note is that they can get pretty busy, today I went and the line took about 20 minutes. The line usually looks pretty intense but for the most part it moves faster than you'd expect. read more

There was a long line there and three of the older cashiers were with customers for over 10 minutes with one with a customer for 20 minutes and still there after I left. One cashiers was carrying on like a snail bagging in slow motion with a big smile on her face as frustrated customers were waiting in line. The lady next to me was equally frustrated at the the older three cashiers completely oblivious and unsympathetic to the growing line which wrapped all the way to the next isle. To me it's a management failure since the cashiers had improper training on moving a line. I will take my business elsewhere, to a place that values their customers and their customers time. read more

Hit or a miss Nordstrom Rack! I love their Tory Burch bags! They carry Burberry, Tory burch, Michael Kors and Marc Jacob watches! Some women and kids uggs! Designer shoes! Lots of home decoration! Luggages! Jewelry! I can understand the prices here! Extremely reasonable! It's pretty fun to shop here if you don't plan on spending retail price at any regular Nordstrom. Plus, the employees here don't treat you any different. Always a greet at the front entrance and employees wandering around doing their job. I always come back to this Nordstrom when I am in town and more than happy to come back in a few weeks to do some holiday shopping! The only downfall about this Nordstrom rack is parking. The Safeway gas station is bunch of BS with the street going one way, parking line is confusing and arrows go one way. Lol. So it's like a weird loop. Better off parking to the side of Nordstrom closest to the JCP sign. The hassle of people not knowing how to drive makes you frustrated finding parking! read more

I'm surprised I've never written a review for this place! It's still fairly newish! And looks so as well. The store is clean, maintained, and well-organized (although I've never been on a weekend), and they have a pretty nice selection of designer items to choose from ranging from purses, shoes, clothing, accessories, furniture and more. I found the cutest pair of Coach shoes here for only $40 (whaaaat!), but I found that their clothing displays were all kind of jumbled together and hard to look through. You kind of have to sift through things for a while, and I'm not big on spending a lot of time in a store. Purses seemed pretty picked over, because one of my family members was raving about their selection. Perhaps I came on the wrong day? Still a great store nonetheless. I've shopped quite a bit in there downtown SF store off 9th. I've also been a regular in Emeryville! This is the spot for the designer shoes!! They also carry Bliss products. I hardly see them at any other Nordstrom Rack store. I'm a bliss groupie so when I find a sale I'm there!! If you haven't tried Bliss products yet DO! Amazing face, hair and body products. The staff here is very friendly and helpful! I've never had an issue at any store. The luxury of shopping at the Nordstrom Rack is you can go to any associate and tell them you would like to pay with your Nordstrom card and you don't have to wait in line.
