We love Daiso. We love how they always stick new things and that we need or would like to use. We like the rotating selection of candies; we will never get bored of the products. I also like how there is a self-checkout that works if dont accidentally scan the same item twice which is what I do. The prices are fair, and nothing too pricey. read more

We love Daiso!! Too bad the nearest location is 30 mins away. The store was clean and nicely organized. Plenty of house, personal, school, and pet items available. For prices, just check their conversion charts from Yen to US dollars. We bought a few items for our kitchen and the dogs. My wife bought some color pilot pens. Also many snacks and drinks to fill you up. I kind of wish the aisle weren't so narrow. Pretty difficult to shop when too many inside the store. That's pretty cool they have 2 self checkout registers. Save a lot of time with long lines. read more

If you are looking for affordable everyday times this is a perfect place. I've bought lots of kitchen, storage, beauty products, stationery goodies and snacks and drinks throughout the years. I really like this store!! I foster kittens & was looking for the right size/ depth dishes for their wet food. It might seem trivial, but it's important that the dish is shallow, small, not plastic, & easy to clean. Petco is just absurdly expensive & the bowls are so big that doing dishes for so many kittens was overwhelming. Daiso's wide selection of dishes allowed me to find a variety of beautiful, ceramic dishes that are easy for the kittens to eat from, don't make too big of a mess, & REALLY makes clean up so much easier. And the price was even better than Amazon! They also have great garden stuff! The only thing I dont like is that there are no U.S. prices on the items so it made it was more difficult to figure out how much things cost. But otherwise, awesome! read more

Okay, I have an obsession with Daiso. Hear me out. Daiso has everything, and I mean everything. Whatever you need, Daiso probably has. You can refer to the price conversion charts posted around the store to find out the price of an item, otherwise items are $1.75 by default if there is no specified price. It doesn't get any better than that. I like to take my time walking through each aisle to see what I can find. There is always something new, so each visit is a fresh experience. I've gotten lots of things from here--mostly organizational stuff, cases, cable management stuff, etc. And with cute designs to! I'm ALWAYS down for cute designs. My only gripe is that this location is smaller than the other locations around the Bay Area, meaning that walking room is tight and the aisles can get kind of cramped. Yah it was pretty hot in here at the time I came to shop. I looked for some gifts for a friend's son who just graduated. I was in a rush. I grabbed a white board that was made to create your own calendar with a cork board. He was entering college so that would help start out his college year. I have to say it was a cute item and he loved it. I also stocked up on make up remover wipes and bought some snacks. I just love getting stickers and their cute stationary of Sanrio characters and Rilakkuma. I collect them to put aside in case I have to rush in finding a gift for friends n the future. read more

Like a cross between the $5 dollar store and an Asian market. Lots of unusual items, but set up like the Dollar store. Housewares, personal care items, yummy Asian snacks and candies. This is the smallest Daisos I've been to. There's not a huge selection of items to choose from. Most items are $1.75 unless noted on the tag. Prices are in Yen but there's a conversion chart on every aisle. The staff here are nice and helpful. read more

When you have a lot of kids, you get invited to a lot of birthday parties. I cannot afford to buy extravagant gifts for every 8th, 6th and 3rd grader west of Mt. Diablo. On a whim we came here just check it out and see if we could find a gift for a birthday one of the kids were invited to. It was not a disappointment. You will find perfectly priced gifts for children that will make everyone happy. We went down every aisle. When I say cheap it was like a pile of fun stuff for a girls birthday and the wrapping paper for $15. I found a few things for myself. Like Shrimp Chips. I love Shrimp Chips. They have a decent selection of Japanese goodies. Its a great store. You will find something for whatever you may need for sure. read more

Food, snacks, office supplies, electronics, gardening, and cooking are just a few of the many categories represented here. Visiting a Daiso is always a pleasant experience. Items are neatly arranged and well-stocked in the store's aisles. There are a plethora of options available to you right here. Daiso is a popular place in Japan, and I'm happy to see it making its way to the States! It's one of the main reasons I go to Daiso that some of the cleaning utensils or organization products for very specific purposes aren't available in American stores. However, the availability of certain items is not always guaranteed. On weekdays, when there are fewer customers and more inventory, I prefer to shop there. SCAM ALERT! I bought two pairs of gloves and some other items. When the cashier gave me the total, it seemed high and I asked about the price of the other items. When I walked out and looked at the receipt, I found out that I was charged $3.25 for one of the gloves! There was no price designated on the rack for these gloves, so BEWARE, they do not mark all the items that have the higher prices and you can't see the itemized prices at the register! I have never walked out a store this angry, never! I bought 8 dinner plates and the cashier couldn't stop laughing because she couldn't wrap the plates with the paper. She kept laughing and yelling that she needs help, like a little kid. The manger walked over to help and after the manager wrap the plates, they found out the plates were not scanned for the price. Let's do it all over again! The cashier won't stop laughing the whole time. The manager acted she was annoyed because I asked for a shopping bag(, yes, the cashier lagged again). I walked out of the store feeling humiliated and angry. Got it to my car and wrote this review immediately because I want out this behind me but someone need to know about it. My favorite $1.50 store. Daiso is stocked more like a Walmart/target than a dollar store.There are departments for the bathroom the kitchen cleaning section, gardening, entertainment, toiletries , travel aids, Office supplies, food, hardware, and much more. Prices start at $1.50 and rise in one dollar increments until it hits about seven dollars. Quality i s surprisingly high given the cost. All the Daisos I've been in have been clean, organized reasonably well stocked. They have unique Daiso only items that have wowed my family and friends. Some of my go to kitchen utensils are from Daiso beating out expensive widgets from specialty kitchen stores. My family flew over from the East coast hoping for entertaining shopping and the Daiso hit the spot. Several times. They just kept going back. Policy varies from store to store. Some want cash unless you go over $20. Customer service is spotty. Some have bent over backwards others sort of just drifted away without answering. read more

I love visiting this Daiso location whenever I am in the area. I usually grab drinks that are not sold in other stores, such as the Aloha Maid Hawaiian drinks or the Sangaria Ramune Carbonated flavored drinks. I like to get other things such as Japanese Curry boxes, Hi-Chew candy, etc. I always spend at least 20 dollars. The workers here are very friendly and the store is clean. Overall, Daiso is a wonderful store and I'll continue to come back. read more

If you still haven't heard of or been to a Daiso Japan by now, you're definitely missing out as there are many locations throughout the Bay Area. Great selection of everything from school supplies, camping/bbq items, car accessories, housewares, cookware, clothing, organization items, small toys, gardening, even some Japanese food items. During the lockdown, this was one of the few places that consistently had masks, gloves, and sanitizers in stock. They limited capacity of shoppers in the store and were very diligent about sanitizing baskets after every use. Staff are friendly and the store seem to stock new items pretty regularly. I noticed some reviews stating this store is small but I would say it's about medium because there are definitely locations I've visited that are much smaller and less variety. One observation from more recent visits is ever since the price increased to $1.75 and there are "higher end" items that based off of the Japanese Yen pricing - your total will probably be more than you anticipated. When everything was pretty much $1.50 it was much easier to calculate. Unless you are super meticulous with the math it's fairly easy to get the conversion wrong (there are posted charts for guidance though) especially if you are purchasing a lot of items. I'm late to the kitchen pantry and refrigerator organization train but there are many size and style options of trays, baskets, and storage containers. I've purchased a few and so far no complaints. Around major holidays if you want decorations for cheap - this is your spot. Recently they stocked new Sanrio items featuring Hello Kitty, Twin Stars, and Cinnamoroll. There are usually fun Disney & Pixar themed items as well like a Car Shade Covers or silicone baking molds. They do now have competition with a fairly new discount store that opened in the same shopping center. While some items overlap, they do sell lots of different things as well. With inflation on pretty much everything these things, this discount store continues to be a very affordable choice for everyday items and fun kawaii gifts as well. Worth checking out if you're in the area and parking is pretty easy in parking lot most of the time. Pro-tip: Sign posted stating No Apple Pay. There is a bag charge so BYOB or tetris your items and carry them out like I do when I forget! :D read more

I think Daiso is way better than American dollar stores, and also they follow the covid rules. We went to get some cool stuff and were amazed at how they handle covid rules. They only allow 16 people at the great store, for keeping social distance. The working staff is very friendly and helpful, please before going there wear a jacket and grab a coffee because you will wait for a huge lane, which is readable during these times. read more

First visit to this Daiso Japan location. The store is located in The Willows Shopping Center in between Fuddruckers and Roadrunner. If you've been to the Willows before, you know that parking can be a little full. We parked at the bank since it was closed. Lots of aisles full of so much random stuff, it takes a good amount of time to peruse through everything. From snacks, stationary, housewares, socks, slippers, small tools kitchenware, toiletries and toys. Similar to a dollar store (but cleaner). What makes it intriguing is that most of the goods are from Japan. It's very organized in here, small but packed full. Just like the dollar store, it's cheap with many useful things that are ok quality. Unless it is marked, everything is $1.50, which is simply amazing. This place has a lot of useful items I could use, like $1.50 notebooks that I buy to organize my work. The kitchen aisle has great pans, mini spatulas and steamers, as well as cups, glasses, plates and dining ware. My wife liked the beauty section with nail polishes, facial masks, combs and hair styling ties and clips. There is a section dedicated to stationary and writing utensils, including photo scrapbooks and animal themed stationary. They also had folders, chalk paint, brushes, binder dividers and many different types of notebooks (lined, graphed, and plain). The snacks are good and so are the different types of instant noodles and sauces. They could use a little more stocking of food items - some shelves were thin. The aisles are a little tight as someone mentioned before, but they meet ADA code for aisle space varying from 42"-48". Now that I know what they have, I will be back to stocked up. read more

Kayla's so sweet. She was very patient as I was trying to find tissue for my gifts and I couldn't decide on what color the selection had. I usually have the reaction, "Wow, they literally have EVERYTHING," when I go to a good Daiso. However, this Daiso in Concord doesn't carry a lot of stuff that other locations have. Every time I ask if they have something, they say they don't (e.g. cheesecloth). I was super excited to make homemade yogurt and knew that Daiso had cheesecloth, but was super sad to find out that this location didn't carry it :( They also are always short on workers. No workers are on the floor and they're all usually at the cash register. I went through every aisle to see if there were any workers, but I saw none. When I went a few days ago, there were 2 girls working as cashiers and that was it. I had to wait in line to ask them if they carried what I needed, only to find out that they didn't. I also mentioned to the girl that was helping me that I didn't see any workers on the floor, and she said that they are short on staff. I hope that the owner hires more workers so that these poor girls can get some help soon. read more

I come here fairly often and most of the time have no complaints with the products. I've never appreciated that they don't do returns or exchanges, but i've always known about it and accept it, and they make a fairly good effort to tell you about it (Even dollar tree does exchanges). Anyway, i noticed while entering my recent shopping trip receipt into my budget, that the sales tax is not correct on the receipt, i was charged 10.11% sales tax, not the 9.75% that is supposed to be the concord rate. All the items i purchased are taxable, no food items, and no bag fees were added in either. Unless i am missing something or there is some other mandated fee that was added in and not disclosed on the receipt, this seems like a shady thing to me and must be a recent change in the last several months. I am rating the store 2 stars to try to get some attention on this, i'd like to see some explanation. I know it's peanuts for one person's receipt, but if they add it up for all sales they make, that could add up to a lot, and it seems problematic and not legal, as for my perspective. read more

I. Love. Daiso. This place is a little trip to Japan for those of us who have never gotten the chance to go. They have food and drinks that you won't find anywhere else, and lots of little gadgets that we don't really think of here in the States. I love the variety of products, and their storage bins give me life as a crafter ($4 each!!! - don't you go taking them all). Looking for a strainer for many different sizes of sink? Daiso! They wouldn't allow my little dog in the store although he is in a bag. They said Daiso has a strict policy that no animals are allowed because they sell food. I could understand if my dog was in a leash walking around. He's in a bag without any chance of contaminating any of your sealed food items! I bring him in groceries all the time without issues. My favorite Asian discount store! I frequent this store and/or SF Japan town store every time I visit family and I always leave with a big back of stuff to drag back to home. The merchandise is well designed, cute, clever, and useful. I never had to throw anything away that I purchased here. Like the SF Japanese town store, I am glad they're observing COVID measures to protect the employees and the customers, but my patience is not cut out for waiting 30+ minutes to buy less than $50 worth of stuff. So I recommend checking google to see when the lowest traffic time is to visit the store. Since I only visit several times a year, I do feel sad when they no longer carry certain items that I love (e.g., foil covers for the stove and walls). If I am persistent, I would be able to find them in other Daiso stores sometimes. read more

First time today at this Daiso location! Definitely, have pros and cons about this store. Pros: Spacious, Clean and Cash registers are quick! Cons: Need more restocking and no parking in front of the store, and the store isn't $1.50 everything. It ranges from $1-6. It is disappointing when Daiso opened up and most items were $1.50. Now that the store has expanded to other cities and became popular the price keeps going up and up! I would still shop here. They have decent quality materials and inexpensive snacks! The snacks range from $1.50-$4. I love getting the caramel popcorn, candy and noodles. I was very happy to get some of my storage here for $1.50 for my small business. Will be back! read more

9/24/2023 6:57pm: An employee locked the door as I was walking up. There were tons of customers still in the store. Posted hours online said open until 8pm. Posted hours on the building also said open until 8pm. I understand wanting to close up a few minutes early but closing over an hour early is just bad business. The woman who locked the door also pretended like she couldn't see me... she proceeded to chat with a coworker while I gently knocked on the glass right in front of her to get her attention. Honestly a borderline dehumanizing experience. I'm really only writing this review because I saw others also had a similar experience. All the woman had to do was kindly let me know they need to close early tonight, even through the glass... and I would have understood.
