Bargain Hunting Day at Marshalls - Episode 3, the Final Episode! This was our final Marshalls stop of the day--and let me tell you, it couldn't have come soon enough for me. (If you've read my last two Marshalls stores reviews on this day, you'll know my supporting enthusiasm for bargain hunting had reached its limit! :-) That said, even in my bargain-fatigued state, I could see why my significant other was excited about this one. According to her, this Pleasant Hill location had the best selection of the day--and judging by the crowd, plenty of others agreed. It was the busiest of the three stores we visited, and while that meant things were a bit scattered (thanks to customers leaving items everywhere), the merchandise itself was impressive. I spotted a lot of familiar brand names on everything from shoes to clothes to home goods. This store seems like a solid place to find quality items without paying full price. While she was happily exploring, I hung out near the entrance and ended up chatting with a couple of staff members. Even though they were clearly busy, they were still answering questions and helping customers with genuine smiles. It was actually kind of fun to watch. We wrapped up our day with a few more great finds. She was happy--and that's a win in my book. read more

I was so excited tonight to find Belgian chocolates and Sanders chocolates from Michigan, one of my all-time favorite brands. Of course, I ended up buying both. I loved how many varieties of Sanders chocolates they carried: milk chocolate with sea salt caramel, dark chocolate with sea salt caramel, milk chocolate with pecan and sea salt caramel, and sugar cookie-flavored white chocolate with sea salt caramel. So festive! I picked up the last two, and they were incredible. Each was $7, so it's not bad. Now I know exactly where to go whenever I'm craving these chocolates in the future. read more

I love shopping at Marshalls. I've been shopping here over 10 years. The store is always well maintained and stocked with lots of products. Employees are pleasant. I went to their VIP cardmembers event and was given a beautiful canvas shopping bag with a Marshalls water bottle. I met their store manager...she was nice. I was acknowledged as a World/Gold cardholder. While shopping, they were giving away $10 gift cards. My name was called and I was thrilled. Thank you!!! This is one of the nicer, well maintained and well stocked Marshalls I've ever been to! I had the weirdest experience here. I was pushing a shopping cart with two pairs of shoes and a shirt and I walked away from it for a total of +/- 5min and my shopping cart was gone! Searched for a while and couldn't find it! I stopped by before noon and this was one of the nicest Marshalls I've ever been to. It was well stocked and I couldn't believe how clean and organized the store was. It was like nothing was out of place. The weird thing was that it was quiet inside like I was shopping inside a library. The clearance aisles might have been the only area that looked a little unorganized since it was full of random items. They still had some nice seasonal stuff that had been marked down several times. I had broken my mug earlier in the day so I was happy to find a replacement on clearance for only $1. I thought it was a rare sight to see staff working the floor. I saw one person making sure the clothes were properly hung on the racks and someone else was straightening up an aisle. I was also surprised that there was no line when I went to pay for my stuff. The Marshalls that I had been to in the past always had long lines and limited staff so the store usually looked like a mess with items scattered all over the place. read more

I usually love coming here, but one of the workers JUDY, older lady with red hair is so incredibly RUDE. I've heard her being rude to customers other times I've been here.. but tonight she was disrespectful to me and my boyfriend. The store was closing and we were already making our way to the front, and she was aware that we were walking to the register because she radioed other employees that two customers were walking up, and after she told them, she turned to us and rudely told us to hurry up. I let the cashiers know that she was being disrespectful and they also brushed me off like they didn't care or they're used to it at this point. Either way, something needs to be done because she thinks it's okay to be disrespectful to customers and it's obvious nobody is reprimanding her or setting her straight. Her behavior takes what would be a 5 star review and makes it a 1 star. read more

Yikes! What has happened to this Marshalls? I'll confess that I haven't shopped here in a couple of years ... pre-Covid. But when I was there recently it was a terrible experience. Lots of holiday merchandise so everything else was crammed together. I first headed to the shoe department where I have had a lot of luck in past years. A mess. Too difficult to even attempt shopping. The floors were filthy. I read in another post from a few months ago that this store was being remodeled. It sure doesn't look like it. Crossing Marshalls off my list for bargain shopping. Will stick with TJMaxx (same family of stores) or simply do on-line shopping. Much more pleasant than this Marshalls. read more

Sunday, April 13 late afternoon. This is the closest Marshall's near my house so I'm here often. Probably not anymore. I was trying on 6 items, and an older lady at the fitting room entrance area was very friendly and gave me the tag. Nothing fit so I came back out, and then there was a younger woman worker instead there. As I handed the 6 items back to the young woman, she asked if they worked and I said, "unfortunately not this time." She then LITERALLY said ugh, rolled her eyes, and violently hung/slammed the hangers on the rack. What's more, I still had the tag with "6" in my hand which she snatched out of my hand. Went today and I was really disappointed with how management runs this store. I was in line waiting to be checked out but there was this really bad odor coming from behind the counter.. most likely a worker with bad hygiene. While it was my turn to get checked out, I immediately declined signing up for the tjx rewards or whatever credit card system marshall has because 2 more minutes of me standing there and signing up while SMELLING that would've made me puke- no kidding.. Marshalls PLEASE have better hygiene rules.. for the sake of the other workers AND your customers! read more

I hate giving bad reviews but my sister and I went to Marshalls and we couldn't be more disappointed with our experience here today. Alma was incredibly rude to my sister and I for no reason. We were trying to talk to her in Spanish because we noticed she was speaking it to other folks but she gave us so much attitude and the negative energy she gave off, you can feel from a mile away. It's July 4th and I literally just left the store. I went to the dressing room at 741pm and the women told me that they are closed at 745 because the store closes at 8. I understand they want to get home I only had 3 items to try on that would've taken me only 5 minutes. There is no sign anywhere saying that the dressing room closes early before the actual store closing hours. The women was also very rude and shouting at me I didn't know what to say and just walked out and left. Worst customer service experience ever. read more

We were in the Crossroads to pick-up an online order from another store in the Crossroads shopping center and saw this Marshall's and decided to check it out. This store was large and the space between each row, whether in clothing section or houseware department were spacious and not tight as other Marshall stores. The rack and shelves were all well stocked and orderly. I found a nice Spyder jacket at a very reasonable price along with some kitchen tools and holiday decorations. Checking out, the line was four deep but the wait was short. Workers were friendly. This was a nice Marshall's store and I'll stop by if I'm in the area. read more

I don't live in this area and was visiting a family member and we decided to return some shoes for my husband. The employee that helped me out was extremely rude when I pulled up my screenshot email receipt and she scanned it. She touched my phone and asked for the date of the email. I told her it was a screen shot to find easily vs. pulling up my email receipt. She told me she wasn't going to do the return because I had a picture. I asked her what the problem was since I always do returns like this where I live and I've never had a problem. She just kept saying , a picture no return. So I pulled up my email and she said do you want to talk with a manager and I said yes because I didn't like her nasty attitude nor understood the issue. She got her manager and they proceeded to speak in another language. She said the receipt had to include the bar code to scan. I told her the employee had already scanned it and she said, oh okay then you can return the shoes. I was floored and didn't understand what this whole thing was about. Then they kept speaking in another language and the manager came back with a nasty remark about my screenshot receipt. I don't know what this was all about but there needs to be some serious training for these employees. I've never been treated this was at a major store for no apparent reason. There should have been an apology or explanation but there wasn't. Very disappointed. read more

This Marshals has completely gone down hill in the last 3-4 months. The attempt of a remodel makes it now look like a goodwill or Salvation Army. Not to mention they are doing this whole remodel in the middle of the day, why not after hours or before the store opens ? You literally can't even get anywhere or look at anything. A complete inconvenience to the customers. I could not push even my stroller through the store at all, and my 8 year old was constantly tripping and filling over merchandise they purposely placed on the floor. I frequent this location, its my favorite Marshalls! They typically have a better selection in pretty much every dept than any other location I've been to. When they reopened after the pandemic closures, they did a great job with social distancing and controlling access to the store. I waited about a week after they opened to let some of the initial rush die down. Carts were hard to find but otherwise they were very stocked and had a nice selection. Unfortunately the stock levels have been lacking ever since that first visit. I have been several times and the shelves seem so light, its very confusing because you'd assume after being closed for a few months they would have an excess of stock. Some visits I've actually been afraid they were closing! But the employees maintain that they keep restocking the shelves- they just sell out. Service is not spectacular but its friendly. I see some bad reviews for this location but am happy to report I have never had a bad experience here! read more

The selection at this location has been hit-or-miss during the supply chain issues; on one visit they had just received a huge shipment and on a second visit there was not much to choose from on the racks. Customer service is also hit-or-miss. Again, on one visit, I was able to shop in a relaxed manner, but on a second visit, employees were circling around me and also around other customers! The cashier told me that they have a lot of things happen at this location, which would explain their loss prevention efforts in the store. If you are willing to overlook this unpleasantness, you can sometimes find an item that you need, before the section has been picked over. There's a big parking lot since this Marshalls is located in The Crossroads Shopping Center, so it's easy to find a spot near the store entrance. read more

People are very rude here. Very sad. The stocker women look at you dirty and do not even acknowledge you. I mean so very rude. If I come to the store looking for anything and have my hair and make up done looking nice; they are nice. Please encourage kindness even if I don't have make up or wearing a sweatshirt. I'm a social worker and I meet people where they are at but this kind of evil is tragic. But if I look nice they are nice. Salib who was nice to me one day I looked nice was super mean when I came in with no make up and a sweat shirt. This is awful service. Juan tried to assist me by asking salib how much this picture that is ripped would be they offered $25. Karima is the only nice person next to some of the staff. read more

I then found the greatest employee named Lucy who helped me look for my signature scent. She found it! I'm now a better smelling person and will be a patron to this Marshall's again! read more

Horrible experience at this Marshalls location. I had a return for a damaged item that I purchased less than a month ago which was a $3.99 item and I received the most difficult time from the associates to exchange this item for another item. I was going to make a purchase today, but ended up not going through with it because of the hard time I was put through trying to exchange this item I had my receipt the item was never opened but it was leaking they called about 3 supervisors over a four dollar item! I am literally humiliated for these people you are working for a retailer that doesn't care about you and does not pay you well and you make a fuss about a $4 item that was clearly unopened and the receipt was provided, how embarrassing lol!!! To treat a customer who spends more than $1000 a month at this location is just uncalled for I hope they get better training. The coordinator I believe his name was Jose was a joke he should be ashamed of himself. José you work at Marshall's LOL. To treat a customer like this trying to make a $4 exchange, it's not about the money it's the principle I do not condone keeping Damaged merchandise. Plus all I wanted to do was apply towards my purchase but after the treatment I received I declined making the purchase! Bathrooms were trashed! It wasn't even 12:30am and thr garabe can was overflowing with trash on the floor. The stalls weren't clean either. There was a long line and only one person at the register. Awesome bargain store! Marshalls is one of the leading off-price apparel and home fashion retailer. It is one of the Fortune 500 companies. The company has stores worldwide. Some of their stores that I also like are TJ Max and Home Goods. Whenever I'm in the area I always make it a point to stop here. You'll never know what kind of bargains you're going to find. I especially like the shoes and bags, beauty and home sections. One of the tips I'd like to share is not to pay attention to the compare at prices. A lot of times it's misleading. If there's an original tag from the manufacturer itself then it's better to go by that to see how much you're really saving. I usually Google real quick whenever I'm buying something to see if it's a good deal. Otherwise it's better to shop at the regular stores with sales and coupons. The store is bright and open. If you come here looking for a specific item, you may not find it. I came looking for a water bottle with face sprayer and they didn't have it. Limited inventories on things in every category. I very seldom find good clothes. It's hard to find clothes as the store is small and the racks are almost always filled to the brim. It's impossible to move the hangers to look at the clothes so I don't even look unless something catches my eyes. Usually the ones on display in the front as you come in are trendy and stylish and the brand and quality are good. I love looking at beauty products, shoes, bags, and stuff for the home. I usually find good skin care, my perfume from Estee Lauder and the likes at a very good price. And I'm always on the hunt for LaCreuset kitchen cookware/ovenware. This visit I bought Sheseido moisturizer and eye cream. I also bought a LaCreuset ovenware, a cute bowl to take to work, a pair of good quality leggings, and some aromatherapy oil kit. All for a little over a hundred dollars. I'm a happy shopper. I came towards closing time so I had to skedaddle really fast as they announced that they were about to close. Otherwise I'd be finding more things to buy. Lots of bargains at this store. Just have to have patience especially if you're shopping for clothes. As far as customer service, it's hit or miss. Most of the time, it's like hunting in the forest, it's hard to find anybody as if they're hiding from you because you might shoot them. read more

Vases for wedding centerpieces? Check! We still needed six vases to complete the components of our wedding centerpieces. Marshalls just so happened to have the same vases that TJ Maxx carries. They had plenty in stock and most were free from random imperfections, such as little air bubbles. They were all only $4 or $5. While in the home decor section, I also found some cute girly gifties that I cannot provide detail on now just in case one of my bridesmaids reads this review. Wow! This location is one hot mess!! Items without a price! The toys- i checked all three boxes and not one with a price tag! The section with kitchen stuff/home section looked like a tornado hit it!! I could not even shop for what I was looking for anywhere in the home section. This was not like this a few months ago- Oh! The usual issue with designer discount stores is that they can be quite messy and disorganized, but that is not the case here. I absolutely heart Marshalls! I am a huge bargain shopper. Am I cheap? Perhaps, but I prefer the word frugal. Why pay full price? I'm no fool. I know..I know some say the items are past season. Some items are but that is not always the case. Let me give you some examples. I was looking through a current Spring issue of the Bloomingdale's catalogue and saw the most adorable designer wedgies. I go to Marshalls the very same day (Danville Marshalls) and find the exact designer shoes for 60% less than the retail cost! I kid you not! There's more. My friend proudly modeled her oh so cute designer purchase from a local boutique, I went to Marshalls the next week and got the same outfit in a different color for half the price. SHE...WAS...PISSED! Hahahahah, sucka! That's what happens when you think Marshalls is beneath you. This Marshalls is very neat and things are very easy to find. There are 2 entrances for easy access and it also makes finding a good parking space much easier. I found a pair of chocolate brown ankle boots, a sweater, a shirt, and the bill was just under $60...sweet! read more

Have always loved coming to this location however today was a big let down. Found out there's no baby changing pull down table in the bathroom. Not in women's or men's. So I asked the lady that is in charge of letting people in and out due to covid. I asked her if I could leave my shopping cart by her while I go out to my car to change my baby's poopy diaper and if I could come straight in instead of waiting in the super long line outside due to Covid. (We already waiting for 20 minutes outside before being let in) She responded saying no. If you leave to go change his diaper I can't watch your cart and you have to wait in the line again. Well, we ended up on just leaving. Sad customer service with this rude older lady. It's ok, we're headed elsewhere. read more

As far as Marshall's' go, this location is big, clean, and bright. Shoppers and staff seem to have general respect for the store, and there isn't crap flung all over the place. In a word, I actually enjoy coming here, and am hard-pressed to walk out empty-handed. Excellent place for dresses, men's clearance, and exercise gear. They also have a large selection of housewares and shoes. Typically I hate these discount stores because it takes forever to get out of there due to short-staffing. But I happened upon a spectacular sight - three checkers to my left, and 4 on the right! And what happened then? Well, in Marshall's they say... that my small Grinchy heart grew three sizes that day. read more
