Then, my girl pondering which bicycle tire pump to get, seeing a fellow at some distance from that section of the store wearing a red Target shirt, motioned to him that we needed help, before realizing it was Ed. Wonder of wonders, Ed carefully explained the difference. Target really should make Ed not just store manager, but regional manager, in charge of training. Ed's genuineness is infectious, his range of knowledge remarkable, his casual intellect makes shopping a breeze. Ed would be a welcomed addition in Target's corporate offices. Anyone long in business knows people are quick to complain, slow to praise. We've been to this Target in Walnut Creek a couple of times and it's fine. We used the free curbside pickup service once and it worked well. Recently, we returned and my wife was able to find what she was looking for. On a Saturday afternoon, the store was busy, but we were still able to get in and out fast. This is one of the busier Target stores I've been to. I think my sister prefers it to the one in Oakland. It reminds me of our Target at home in Atlanta (Atlantic Station) because it has a garage and you have to take escalators/stairs up to get into the store (however, at this location, if you park outside, there is no need to take the escalators/stairs). read more

The Target effect is real. The fam has been going to Target for ages. We buy nearly everything there- household goods, toys, electronics, groceries, and more. It's so convenient for a one stop shop. So many times we go here for a couple things and leaving with a cart full of stuff, and forgetting to get what we came for in the first place, and that cycle repeats itself. Downside is sometimes the stock isn't as great or when looking at the app, it'll say in stock, but it isn't actually at the store. The employees have been amazing double-checking for us when needed though. Self checkout is great, and it's changed over the years. They always need my ID when it comes to certain medicines, including children's dimetapp. Parking can be tricky once a while, but I guess during popular weekend times and right before holiday or something. Love the sales and deals. We load up so much when they have those spend X and get a small gift card deals, esp when paper towels, tissues, etc. stuff are involved. They also have new chip flavors once a while, which is fun. Love trying that stuff. read more

Today she got an an email stating she did not get the job. The way HR handled this process is not only unprofessional, it also shows a lack of ethics. Ordered online from this location and the size small bikini top arrived damaged (had big blue mark in the middle of one side). Issued a replacement and they didn't need the item back which was fine. The replacement arrived a few days later and it is the completely wrong item. It's a bikini bottom for different style and design in XS!!! How did they manage that? I issued a refund because there wasn't any other options but now I have to order it again and wait another 5 days to get the top because I have the bottoms so I gotta get the top! This target is something of a nightmare to visit truthfully. Before you even get to the parking, the getting into the lot itself is hard. The traffic patterns were not well designed by city planners. This goes for getting out of the lot too. The upper lot is unregulated and lots of people park in the drive up spots while they go inside the store. The drive up person who gave me my bags was prompt and very polite. I don't mind if the drive up target employees want to smoke, but there was a very strong scent that was on everything in the bag as well which I didn't love. read more

This location is huge but can get very busy. In the morning weekdays it is very quiet and you can access the area well kept staffed changing room very easily. Target reminds me of M & S in terms of price point and quality though it is a little bit more vanilla yet less granny. You will never be far away from a very helpful staff member. read more

Ive never used it before but decided it would be quicker to pre order and drive up for the pick up rather than go inside and get sucked into the target vortex. I been sitting and waiting for my order for over 10 mins. As i type this review im still waiting.. i've watched several cars come and go from pick up spots that are right in front of the store. Im off to the side alone with another car that parked next to me about a minute after i arrived. They too are being neglected. It feels bigger than some and there are not a lot of items not locked up in cases where you have to call a staff member to get an item out of the case. What they do like lack in customer service (feels more operation staff than customer service) the have a good selection of product. I have a good value on some selection of items that I needed. "Could have been better" is what I rate this place. I haven't been to Target in over a year and even then it was probably for a salad in their grocery section. Target has locked away so many of its products. I needed facewash -- facewash! And I had to get an employee to help me open the shelving. So, California now locks away facewash instead of criminals. Just fyi. Anyway, the employees (Thomas) sighed big time, out loud, audibly, and without abandon, when I was finally able to flag someone down. None of the employees give you eye contact in hopes you won't bother them. Well, I got Thomas' attention and he wasn't happy. I was right not having shopped there. What a disgrace in so many aspects. I rarely give bad reviews but today showed me what our society is really becoming -- careless lazy workers in a land where thieves win and we lose. Also, amazon had the facewash for cheaper. Visited this target a couple months ago after getting off the train. It was so hot and humid and I stopped by to grab a drink and cool down. The service was absolutely horrendous, and they were extremely rude. I was in line with my things got up to the counter and realized my phone had died. I was searching for my wallet in my backpack when the cashier "Raj" I believe, kept pressuring me and telling me if I wasn't going to pay to get out of her line. She said "I can't understand her" when I tried to explain I did not want the items anymore. Then the customer service people refused to look at me and when I tried returning an item, covered their name tag and acted like I was the devil. This low rating is for Sharon, in self checkout- today 12/10. I come here often and use self checkout frequently. I routinely do the same thing- scan my target card via app in my digital target wallet, and then begin scanning my items. When I went to scan it today, it didn't register. I tried a couple more times and then called Sharon over to assist. She looked at me and said with a condescending attitude "you need to press continue and then scan" so I did as prompted and tried again to no avail. Sharon came back annoyed as the screen had reset and said again in an annoyed tone "you need to press CONTINUE and then begin to scan before you can scan your card" - as if I were an idiot. So again I tried, and nothing. As she shuffled away, I said - "look it's not scanning!" She begrudgingly turned around and finally tried herself and realized the scanner was actually broken. Instead of apologizing like a normal, decent human being- for making me seem like a complete moron, she picked up the nearby scanning gun and shoved it in my direction and said "use this" I'd like to give Sharon some grace but it's 9am and I'm sure her shift is just starting. I had just dropped off my Ford Fusion Energi Titanium at the local ford dealer. I guess the Oakland potholes took a toll on my alignment only after 3000 miles and maybe 8 months!? Unreal. So I was back again. How better than to kill some time... Whats better than visiting Dans in Downtown??? Target!!! People are obsessed with Target. I hear realtors boasting proximity to these stores. Realtors... they love that word "boasting." Hot air balloons. They will say, "1.2 miles away for 'those' Target runs." I'm not sure what all that means, afterall isn't this a glorified Kmart?! I follow the yellow brick road across the street from Ford Walnut Creek. Thought it would be too dangerous to do some tire kicking at all the used car lots nearby. I always get this car buying itch in August. First thing you notice is the little Starbucks at the entrance. Starbucks in a Target... its a vibe. Lovely little cute dog mascot welcome you. I love that. Huge. This place is massive. Lots of everything. Clothing department had everything and same can be said for furniture and appliances and everything else. Looked at some vacuums. Just adopted a new little guy. Loves to make a mess. Tear up house plants, unplug my air purifier, constantly untie my shoes, get into everything. IDK follow this guy around with a vacuum. Grab some new little pet toys for my little guy. Lots in the pet department. All sorts of food and treats and some were on sale. I grab those. Grab some lemon flavor with poppy seed nuts for myself. Plan to take those back to the waiting room across the street. Some self soothing - when mechanics are looking over your car finding big bill problems some nuts could help. Taylor Swift is known to keep countries along her tour route out of recession and even cause small measurable earthquakes. I think that must happen during her 'shake it off song.' No joke. Can't make this stuff up. Target can do both the above too. All 'those target runs' is great for the GDP. And during check out I noticed some earthquakes too. My review is based solely on the Order Pickup services. I stood at the pickup station inside of Target for a few minutes while the workers scrambled helping other customers or rolling Deliver Pickups outside. Then a young man named Mark came in from doing an order outside and was very friendly and said he'll be right with me to help. He scanned my barcode, went to the back to grab my bags, and returned. Then told me there's another bag he'll need to get out of the refrigerator in the back and he'll be right back. Within a minute or two he was back wearing that friendly smile and my bad in hand. Some pluses: - It was a well organized store. Pretty clean too. - I found that they carried some rare products of Amy's that I never found at regular grocery stores and they were fully stocked. - The cashier staff was working super efficiently. There was a long line of customers waiting but the line moved pretty fast as the staff helped keep it going. Good job. Some minuses: - I found 2 dressing room areas that were fully closed, so we had to go to the only one that was open. On a Sunday 5 dressing rooms were just not enough as people were waiting in line forever just to try a piece of clothing. The line was super long. I was struggling to find the item I so desperately desired when this nice young man, Mark, assisted me. He came in like a guardian angel. he greeted me with a warm smile and instantly i felt safe. his presence alone made me secure, i have never felt so comfortable or reassured ever in my life. his skin looked so soft and was glowing so beautifully. Without Mark I wouldn't have purchased my lego bumblebee and would be devastated. crying. They had a really cool device that would help bring your cart from upstairs to downstairs. Convenient location. It was well organized and clean but not that many staff working if you have any questions or wanted to check out quickly. This review is for Optical store manager Anita M. White. I bought a pair of sunglasses at the Optical optical store around 2:20 PM on June 28th in the Walnut Creek Target (1871 North Main St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596). When I bought them, I told the salesperson, "these are gifts for my daughter. If she doesn't like them, can she return?" The salesperson smiled and said, "Of course, you can return them within 30 days." I was delighted and paid $99.42 for the sunglasses. When I gave them to my daughter, she opened the case and took a look (without even trying them on) and said she didn't like them. Two days later, I went to the store to return them. To my shock, the store manager, Anita M. White, told me in a very cold tone that the sunglasses couldn't be returned because there was a small scratch on the frame. I was confused because my daughter hadn't even tried them on and I wonder where did the scratch come from? I had no choice but to take the sunglasses home again. My family said the tiny, almost invisible patch on them was just a minor manufacturer defect. Later, a friend told me about the Optical store inside the Daly City Target and suggested I return them there. When I arrived at the Optical store inside the Daly City Target, they carefully inspected the sunglasses and were very kind as they were about to process my return. However, they couldn't find any information about my purchase in their computer. I told them I paid for the sunglasses with cash. They said if I paid with cash, I would have to return them to the store where I bought them. They kindly and patiently explained why they couldn't help me with the return. The salesperson at that store was excellent! This reminded me of Anita M. White, the manager of the Optical store at the Walnut Creek Target, who was very indifferent to customers. Why was her service so poor? On July 27th (the fourth time), my daughter and I went back to the store to talk to the store manager, Anita M. White, about returning the sunglasses. However, she refused to return them, citing the same reason. My daughter felt that Anita M. White's service attitude was terrible and her reasons for refusing to return them were insufficient. On July 28th, I went back to the store for the fifth time to return the sunglasses, but again, they refused. Having been refused five times by Anita M. White, the store manager, is extremely disappointing! We are now reaching out to you in need of help resolving this issue. We are now keeping these sunglasses well protected and no one is using them. Thank you for your time and patience in reading this letter! This incident leaves us feeling that this optical shop's customer service is terrible. We spent a lot of time and effort trying to return these sunglasses, but were refused. On a scale of 1 to 10, we would give the store manager, Anita M. White, a mere 1. They use to have a really nice vacuum display and I need a new vacuum so I went to look. It was gone and all the vacuums were stuffed into a locked glass case in the back of the store and nothing was displayed. Why would I buy that? I can order way easier on Amazon or go to Costco. I didn't get the first gentleman's name but he helped us with securing the right storage totes and was extremely helpful and identifying where certain items were located. Ended the day with being checked out by a Mr Peter a true stellar employee. He engaged us with polite conversation while doing the check out. This is another store that will have 500 people and only two lanes open. That's how all Targets are pretty much nowadays. If you get there when they open, that's your best bet. 8:00AM. Not a lot of people, only one register of course and it's that older lady who is slow as molasses but the self serve always has plenty of room and that's the best thing about this store. Their returns line is usually well run, the couple returns I had were taken care of quickly - it's too bad the registers cannot be run this way. If you get there when it's crowded and have to wait in line, you'll be there forever and some of the register people are incredibly rude, I do not understand it. You also have the plethora of entitled Walnut Creek housewives who inhabit this store and don't comprehend other people exist - it's very common. One the parking lot was completely full, there's one space, literally one, in the garage and this lady is parked in the space next to it but changing her baby by standing in the open spot, instead of on the other side or the back (she of course has a giant SUV). And she wouldn't move. Because you know, the world revolves around her. These women park their carts in the middle of the small aisles in this store blocking everyone and seem to get angered quickly if you ask to get by. I don't get it at all. But some of the prices in this store are actually good. The apples in a bag. You can get some pretty amazing Red Delicious apples in a bag for 4 bucks. These aren't the overly ripe apples you see at some of the cheapo stores - pretty good apples and I love apples. Also Prego sauce is only 2.50 a bottle. Yeah, other stuff is crazy expensive. A HALF gallon of cream is 7 bucks. SEVEN. The bread is often expired - the Orowheat - I just stopped buying it here. Check the expiration date next time - you'll see it expired or is about to (plus the Orowheat is smaller now and they took away the inside wrapping that keeps it fresh so it's always stale now). Otherwise, get their at 8 when they open and you'll get in and out quick. read more

I recently ordered 10 cans of Del Monte corn, 10 cans of Del Monte sweet peas, and 5 Libby's cans of pumpkin puree from Target. Out of the total 25 cans, only 3 cans are marginally OK. 22 cans are substantially damaged, dented, and crushed. When a can is damaged, the inner lining is broken and the food quality is compromised. Looks like the products were handled and transported negligently, violently, and maliciously. Target, not Del Monte and Libby's, is responsible for this mess. Target delivered a replacement of the 22 cans to me, but again virtually ALL 22 replaced cans are just as damaged as the 22 cans before them. There is no point in asking Target to send me more replacement cans. They will be just as damaged as all the ones before them. What a joke. Now I have to decide whether to keep the damaged cans or donate them all to charity. I will never order from Target again. It is horrible and a waste of time and money. Very interesting Target. Right by the Walnut Creek BART station, and it has both a parking lot and underground parking under the store. That having been said, I've heard they are very strict in enforcing parking since they are so close to BART, so I wouldn't try getting free parking over here if that's what you had in mind. Placed an online order at 2:20 pm on a Thursday afternoon, and received a text showing it was ready for pickup at 2:40 pm, well ahead of the 2 hour limit per Target.com. Customer service and online pickup is right by the front entrance (not set back like at some other Target locations), and I didn't have to wait at all to start talking with someone. One side note, as others have said, online inventory estimates can be off. Certainly this location, like just about every other store in the country, seems to be out of facemasks because of the coronavirus outbreak. Will definitely have to keep checking back. read more
