We ordered an in-stock chair for my dad's hip replacement surgery recovery and the timeline that was assured to us has doubled in length. My dad's too nice to leave the review but he hasn't had anywhere to comfortably sit for months and while the sales rep has been polite when he calls for updates they have offered nothing to make up for the huge inconvenience. At this price point, I would expect better customer service. Don't buy from here. read more

Definitely a cool store that provides tons of inspiration for furnishing and decorating your home. It's tucked away in a sort of industrial part of Concord and has a really spacious and open layout. It's almost like walking through a museum of home decor. Prices were definitely higher than my budget but it was still fun to get ideas. Their ready to hang and preframed artwork, however was surprisingly affordable, If you're wanting or needing help, that might be tricky. Not one associate greeted or asked us if we needed assistance. My wife and I made a purchase here using Affirm. We ended up needing to cancel our order the following day prior to delivery. They are not able to work with Affirm on cancellations (unlike every other business I've used affirm with), so I have to wait for a refund check via the mail. It's been around 30 days since I cancelled my order and I have yet to receive my refund check. I was told within the week about 2 weeks ago. I am still waiting. read more

If you've been shopping for a lot of furniture like I did for a home renovation and went through all of the other big box stores like Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma you'll know that a small showroom is not a friend of a furniture store. Scandinavian Designs business model is ridiculous, charging you for the purchase right away, but, like in our case, having failed to complete delivery of our order 8 months after purchase. Their sales team (Concord, California) will make promises but not fulfill them, and you have to be the one calling them constantly to check on deliver date of your purchase, which them keep delaying due to their own warehouse issues. Lastly, for the price you pay their furniture is built cheap. Within 4 months of receiving some of the chairs in our order, a few of them are starting to fall apart, and Scandinavian Design refuses to change them, or issue a refund. I'd strongly advise against purchasing any furniture from this company, as our experience with the Concord, CA store has been ridiculous. Bottom line, over 8 months after our purchase we don't have all our items yet, and what has been delivered is already falling apart. Don't buy from Scandinavian Designs! read more

Kitty was a good sales person. She knew when to help us and knew when to leave us alone. One of 2 chairs was delivered yesterday. This morning, when I called to get a refund & return my purchase. She was so professional. My leg hurt all night from the chair I bought. They will refund in full less restocking fee of 10% of the chair delivered & no fee on 2nd chair not delivered. Plus $99 pick up. While I would love to only pay pick up fee, I am grateful for Kitty's verbal professionalism and making me feel at ease. I have bought many pieces of furniture here. During Covid: they're open but not a lot of people anyway so I couldn't tell if distancing and masks are required by the business. There's a lot of space and I do my due diligence to follow the Covid protocol anyway. I love the spacious layout and the way they've setup the furnitures. You can really picture yourself in the space and would love to design your house just like they've styled it. I thought they were pricey, but I visited another popular furniture on the other side of town, and the prices were comparable or even higher. Now I'm convinced to get my new couch here when it's time to make a decision. Salesperson was very helpful and not sales-driven. She helped several people at the same time, but gave everyone enough attention and space to explore. Definitely deserves the 5star rating! Be forewarned, they are 8-12 weeks out for in stock items, and even 6+months for special orders. So give yourself plenty of time before you need the replacement. read more

We bought three different items through Scandinavian design: The base for our large TV - it is ideal. It has easy access room for a blur ray DVD player, and the Modem. Additionally we can store numerous DVDs behind three different compartment doors so they are out of view and the beautiful design of the furniture is seen instead Four black metal chairs. We have blue cushions to use with them. They are stylish, sleek, light weight yet sturdy and are perfect to compliment our third item we bought. Our circular seats four dining table just right for our new homes much smaller dining area AND it expands to an Oval to seat six. The extra leaf is built in and stored sleekly when circular but can be unlatched and opened easily by one person. One open, you pull up and open/unfold the hinged leaf which drops into place. Once open and flat it is a one person close so the whole table is large, smooth and beautiful. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
