DO NOT visit this store if you value your self-respect…read more My wife and I visited the La-Z-Boy showroom in Pleasant Hill intending to purchase a rocking recliner. She was pregnant, and we came in genuinely excited to find something comfortable for her during pregnancy and after delivery. While I was trying a recliner, an associate walked by and made a sarcastic and humiliating remark implying that I was there simply to relax rather than make a purchase. The comment was completely unnecessary, disrespectful, and insulting. To make matters worse, we spent a significant amount of time in the showroom while associates helped other customers, yet no one made any effort to assist us until I approached them myself. When my wife learned what had happened, she was deeply upset, and we left without purchasing anything. We walked into the store as serious buyers and walked out feeling judged, humiliated, and unwelcome. The way the complaint was handled afterward was even worse. I escalated the matter through the proper channels and contacted store management, regional leadership, customer support, and La-Z-Boy corporate executives. I received repeated statements that the complaint was being taken seriously and that someone would contact me. Those statements turned out to be empty promises. Weeks passed without a single meaningful outreach, explanation, apology, or effort to resolve the matter. I had to keep following up just to receive another vague assurance, followed by more silence. The store management failed to take ownership. Regional leadership failed to follow through. Corporate leadership ultimately distanced itself from the situation by pointing out that the showroom was independently operated--even though the store carries the La-Z-Boy name and exclusively sells La-Z-Boy products. That excuse is unacceptable. A company cannot proudly place its name on a showroom when making sales and then pretend the treatment of customers inside that showroom is someone else's problem when a serious complaint is raised. What happened in the store was insulting. The complete lack of accountability afterward was disgraceful. Based on my experience, La-Z-Boy showed more interest in delaying, deflecting, and passing responsibility than in addressing how a customer was treated. Their response sent a very clear message: once they lose your business, they do not care how disrespected or unwelcome you were made to feel. We entered this showroom with respect for the La-Z-Boy brand. We left without a recliner and without any respect for how this business treats customers or handles legitimate complaints. Update: The business publicly responded on Yelp offering asking me for my contact details to investigate further. However, this incident had already been escalated through La-Z-Boy's executive leadership, the local store, and the regional president over several weeks before I posted this review. They already had my name, email, the date of the incident, and the complete history of my complaint. Despite repeated assurances that someone would contact me, no meaningful follow-up or resolution ever occurred. That is why I ultimately felt it was necessary to share my experience publicly.

So this review is going to stem throughout a several years. I purchased a bed at the Concord store…read morein March of 2019 , an adjustable bed king size so it had two XL twin size mattress frames on each side with moveable head/feet features. It was expensive, and in addition to the frame mattresses we also had it delivered to a new house we had just purchased and bought a 10 year warranty on the bed. Moving forward a couple of years my husband's side of the bed motor went out and was not functional so we called the warranty service and had a technician come do a service call. He was there for two minutes and then left. They promptly called us and told us it was not covered because the frame was bent. After many phone calls, we asked for a second opinion they finally sent out another technician, and he told us that the first technician had already been fired, and the bed was not bent, but the motor had burned out. Fine, the motors replaced and the bed worked fine no problems. A couple years forward the bed now is stuck in the upward position. It won't go down the feet work, but the head won't go down. We called the warranty service and they say because we've had so many calls. We've one had one service call. They need a video we send a video and they promptly send me a message telling me that we have no more warranty left and they're going to send me a check for $40. She told me they tell me I should go put that towards the new bedframe or another remote and there's nothing else they can do for us. Mind you the warranty that we paid for was a 10 year warranty. We've only had the bed for six years. They did not tell us that there was a cap on the money that we were able to spend. They told us that the bed was covered for 10 years. I will never again buy a bed from this facility or recommend any of my friends to go to mattress firm and purchase a bed there and I will make sure to tell anybody I know to never buy a bed or a warranty from that facility again.

I really appreciated thorough explanation as my son tries out many different ergonomic chairs at the store. We previously tried inexpensive (depending on personal definitions) ergonomic chairs sold through Amazon, etc. We learned that these so called ergonomic chairs sold at Amazon and other equivalent stores aren't that great for us with backpain. You know those arrive in pieces in a box for customers to assemble, hopefully correctly and have all the pieces arrived to assemble. This Relax the Back store has many different ranges of ergonomic chairs for people in different sizes, back pain issues, and preferences. We liked the ergonomic chair my son picked after trying out many and listening to the store manager's detailed explanation. Highly recommend this place rather than just buying one to assemble and try out only to find out that I need a better ergonomic chair.

I just purchased a LifeForm 2390 Ultimate Executive High Back Office Chair…read more My old Back Saver chair died recently. After the funeral and the mourning period, it was on to the search for a high quality replacement. I did online research and found that the Back Saver company is gone and so LifeForm seems to be the only game in town now. I did a lot of research with the rep from LifeForm via email and phone calls but ultimately, you gotta sit in the chair to know for sure. So I went to the Relax The Back store. Kevin helped me with the purchase and he was able to show me the chairs and knew the product pretty well. There was another guy there who knew the things Kevin did not. There were multiple floor models and so I was able to really nail down the chair I wanted. That's important because LifeForm has A LOT of options. The store was clean and fresh and they had what I needed to make my decision. I only gave 4 stars because the store visit was not perfect. There were several broken chairs on the floor. They looked fine but their mechanisms had problems. Also, Kevin dropped the F-bomb on the phone, which is highly unprofessional. Otherwise, working with Relax The Back was as expected. I bought a tatami bed with solid headboard, directly at this shop in person at the end of August…read more The staff was welcoming and friendly. At the time of purchase I was given a 4-6 week delivery lead time. ~4 weeks later (mid-Oct) I received a call saying the delivery was ready for later that week, but then a day before the actual delivery date I was suddenly told my delivery was still a month out. So over 2 months pass (beg-Nov) and I FINALLY receive my delivery. The delivery staff were pretty rough with the materials, and chipped the bottom right corner of the bed frame. There's also a missing slat, of which the Futon shop is meaning to follow-up, but the store staff now keep deferring me to the delivery drivers, which I feel is irresponsible as it removes them from the equation. Overall I dont think I recommend this place as they don't seem to care about their customers once the sale is done.
