The jewelry department sucks... I have been there twice now and was rudely treated by the male manager "M". First time I was there to buy a wedding band for my husband, he asked if I needed help... I said yes... I had to wait for a sales rep to finally come and help me. Today, I took my husband to actually look at the bands...after standing there yet again for awhile... "M" asks if we have been helped... we said no and have been waiting for awhile. He found the proper key to the case and then said he usually has the "women" to help. I didn't like my experience the first time, and today was the second time and husband and I both were disgusted from his attitude... he was not rude, but not wanting to really help. Other sales people came to him about price questions and we were not valued as customers. We will buy the replacement band elsewhere. read more

You would never guess Macy's is one of the best furniture stores in the area but surprisingly they are. We have been looking for a good recliner and went all over, I mean all over the bay area (you can see some of my other reviews). Came here - the selection was one of the best and it was hard to pick between the two I really liked. We did end up getting it here, the thing is super comfortable, it was a surprisingly great price - the whole ordeal was actually not bad. Now you do get the salesmen who follow you all over - I can't stand that and that's why I don't give 5 stars. If they'd just let you be, this would be the best. But yeah, we got a great chair, they delivered and set it up (delivery was not on time to no one's surprise, do deliver people ever arrive on time?). I remember I had some kind of unpleasant qualms years ago about Sun Valley Mall but decided to give Macy's a try even though it's been garbage as well for many years now. I can accept a little bit of disorganization during the holiday season, but this store is a train wreck. I walked up to a completely empty fragrance counter and asked if they could ring up a simple belt. The woman said go get in line on the other side of this partition. Then she went back to doing absolutely nothing. I watched another poor customer go to three different check stands to try to return something, only to be directed to the check stand in the men's suits department. She waited in line for 15 minutes while I shopped. When she got to the front of the line, they told her she had to go downstairs to another department to return her item. Clearly she was frustrated, so she left this check stand and walked across to the other clerk at the fragrance counter and returned her item. Clearly employees are poorly trained Shopping for men's suit jackets one finds all of the hangers mismatched with the proper sizes. Merchandise is lying on the floor in piles. The store was not especially crowded. They're getting two stars not one because once I finally got to the front of a checkout line, the woman was reasonably friendly. Had a fabulous experience yesterday with Richard in the Macy's concord Men's suits. He was extremely helpful, funny, attentive and professional. I stopped shopping at Macy's because service is not there anymore, but he was great. He took his time to fit my son, helped him select everything from suit, shirt, belt and shoes. Bagged our entire purchase and walked over to us to hand everything to us. I would recommend Richard anytime to anyone. Great job Richard. Can't wait to come back again. read more

She was excellent! I had to have her order 3 items as my size was sold out besides (due to Black Friday sales) buying what I bought today. She was very thorough, patient and excellent. Incompetent workers and a rude manager named Maria(h?). 7 days ago I bought a blazer and pants. The blazer ended up being too big and so I went to return it. During the return we noticed the way it was tagged definitely looked off. I understood their concerns and was surprised myself. I bought it exactly like that, it was left in my room the past week while I was out of town, and I went to return it in the same exact condition. Understand my frustration knowing that I didn't do anything with the blazer, didn't wear it at all, and they're telling me they're unable to return it. It's $110 that I feel scammed out of. There is a camera directly facing the counter. I know that if footage of when I bought it 7 days ago was pulled up they would find that it was sold to me in the same condition. You would see the tags being tagged exactly the same way. Cue the incompetent worker who should have caught that before selling it to me because they had no problem catching it during a return. Now comes in the rude manager, Maria(h?), she was saying she 1. didnt have access to the cameras and 2. she just wasn't gonna do it. Okay what is the point of having the cameras lol? And you're not going to believe me but refuse to check something that would prove me right? It feels like I've been scammed and am suffering the consequences of dumb workers. Just fire everyone there lol. To sum it all up, they were definitely accusing me of messing with the blazer then trying to return it, I knew that the cameras would prove I did nothing to it, and of course they're not going to go through the trouble of checking because it doesn't benefit them and they're not the ones losing money. My bad, I should have known. My wife and I purchased a $3000.00 rug from this store on 1Feb of 2025. Nice rug, however, my dog was ate some grass in the back yard and got sick. Not good. I followed the cleaning instructions provided on the back on this NEW rug, hit water only. The stain when from transparent to a dark brown stain around the edge. Spoke with the Macy's staff - there is anything they can do for us. I needed to purchase the warranty from Macy's. Today, I accompanied my wife to the Makeup Department at Macy's in Sun Valley and was surprised by how much there is to learn about makeup. My wife was specifically searching for products without aluminum, as aluminum is a heavy metal that can be detrimental to health. The body struggles to eliminate it, which can lead to significant health issues over time (feel free to look it up!). We received assistance from a young lady named Humaiya, who was very knowledgeable. My wife had many questions, and Humaiya patiently answered each one thoroughly. Macy's in Sunvalley Shopping Center has two sections. The Macy's regular store and the Macy's Backstage store. The regular Macy's store looks very up-to-date. The front entrance looks luxurious. The decorations inside the store give me an elegant feeling as well. However, they seem doesn't seem to have enough employees covering the store. I guess it is because of the labor shortage problem! On the other hand. The Macy's Backstage store. Where you are supposed to find the bargains, most items are not profoundly marked down. They have very few things that are marked down a lot. But most are useless stuff! The Macy's Backstage store layout is similar to Ross or TJ Maxx. The cashier check-out counter is at the store's exit with a line in front of the counter. I saw 18" - 7-8mm cultured pearls online for a ridiculous price. My BFF would love them! I figured it would order them and if I didn't like them, I could return it on the spot. Started at the customer service desk and Samaria was very nice and helpful. After scanning the QR, she said I needed to pick it up in fine jewelry. Two lovely women took my receipt and we're off the look for the necklace. Meanwhile, I asked a fine gentleman to fit me with my watch band. I laughingly said it was my Rolex knock-off. He smiled and corrected me that my Tissot was a fine timepiece. The ladies returned with my purchase and gave it the the timepiece associate. With ID and signature, it was mine. He helped open the box and I inspected the petals Wow! The pearls have great luster and color! The size was evenly matched throughout the strand. AAA quality. The necklace is well strung. I was trying to return an item at the Sun Valley Macy's women's store and had a terrible experience. The girl who works there should really not be in customer service. I think her name is Kaitlyn and she wouldn't return an item although the tag was attached and it was in perfect condition after less than a week in my closet. I had to wait for a manager to come and reprimand her and tell to process the return. After all this, she tried to short change me so we had to call the manager again because she refused to give me the full amount. Customers should be treated better than this and not have their time wasted. Macy's should really look into their hiring policy and not hire mentally ill people especially for customer service jobs. read more

In for the Father's Day sale today and I hit a cologne blockade at the entry. It was vile! Like they took every cologne and sprayed it at one time, gag a maggot! I could hardly breathe until I got away from it. When I left I could still smell it, I realized it was on me and my clothes. I got home and took two showers trying to get it off me, can still smell it!!! It smells in my car as well. This is the worst of the worst. I can't believe this is even allowed in public. Bought some $100 boots from Macy's wore them couple times only and the seem from the boots ripped. Went to the store and turns out they couldn't do anything said I wasted my money because they couldn't return them or get a refund, didn't even try to compromise. Their reason being that I "bought" them from a "third party" and they aren't responsible for product defects even though I purchased them through their app with a Macy's card. Service needs improvement! We waited 10 minutes for service to try on shoes. The employee brought shoes to try on then disappeared. We went to a different department to find someone to retrieve a different size. Again another 10. Much longer than we anticipated. We were the only customers in the mens shoe department. This review is for the Macy's men's Store. If you are looking for meme clothes, shoes, coats or furniture... This is the store to go to Today, the excursion was to look at the furniture section. Store is well stocked, nicely displayed, couches, bedroom sets, outdoor furniture mattresses & large display of 75% off rugs. We had the pleasure of being assisted by Allen in the furniture department. He was excellent! Inviting, warm, knowledgeable, close enough to help when random questions popped up. He did this without being obtrusive. Excellent customer service, well dressed & extremely accommodating. Thank you Allen... We really appreciated working with you. Only comment for the store... They have a good ratio of staff to customers in ever area... Except the rugs. Most of the rugs are in piles on the ground. While displays are neat and orderly.. The process to see (in order to buy) a rugs is extremely labor intensive. The store should have 2 young men pulling back and displaying the rugs. The store is definately losing money in an area they are actually well stocked with a nice diversify of style and cost. Macy's is my store of choice... for everything except women's clothing. This review is from yesterday, Saturday, August 5. I was in the women's bag section and there were 4 people ahead of me in the cashier line. Only one cashier ringing up purchases. Just a few feet away, 5 employees all with Macy's name badges were congregating. Badge names said Joey, Margie, and those were the ones I was able to read. They were discussing what to eat, etc. it was a full 5-6 minutes before they disbanded. One of the women finally came up to me while in line and asked, "what do you need?" Those were her exact words!! I thought about it, and was thinking, well I don't need anything really, so I said no thanks. Left the bag I wanted on a shelf and left. This review is for Barbara in the furniture department - Concord Macys. I purchased a bed frame and the delivery experience was great, set up was perfect but a few days later I realized one of the bed drawers was not closing properly due to poor installation. Barbara called to check on my delivery experience and I let her know about the drawer. She took care of it by placing an order to replace/repair it. After multiple failed attempts to order and replace the part (not her fault) it was finally fixed. She was available each time I called. She ensured they took action and fixed it. She is the definition of great customer service. The bed frame alone was a big purchase and to know that she recognized it and cared enough to get it taken care of felt worth the buy! This review is for the Online Pick-Up section on the 2nd floor in the Men's side of Macy's at Sunvalley Mall. There is never any parking on that side of the mall so I had to drive all the way to the JcPenny's side which is completely opposite from the Men's Macy's to find a parking spot. A lot of the mall entrances were blocked off so I had no choice. The Online Pick-Up section is located on the 2nd floor towards the back of Macy's. When I arrived, there was no one at the register. A Macy's employee had to find someone to help us. A few minutes later, a woman walked out. I patiently waited and stared at Godiva chocolate for almost 20 long minutes while she helped the customer before me. As soon as it was my turn, that same customer decided to interrupt the cashier while she was looking up my order. Then of course, the cashier decided to help her again. So there I was once again waiting another 10 minutes. As soon as the cashier finished up with that customer, she went to grab my online order. When she returned, she slammed my order on the counter. Which caught me by surprise because she could've damaged something inside. I kindly asked her for a bag and as she was bagging up my package, she slammed it on the counter again! At that point I was irritated. She clearly did not handle my package with care and clearly didn't care if she broke it in the process. For those reasons, I'm giving Macy's two big shining stars. read more

Two female Macy's store associates (appeared to be Latin around 5'0 - 5'4 and slender) followed me around several stores in the mall outside of the Macy's. I only knew that after they stopped me to talk to me, and they told me they noticed me several stores ago. I told them that I thought it was inappropriate for them to be following me and after a few exchanges the conversation ended with a few threats from them. She seemed angry that I called her out for it. I was leaving the mall at that time so I filed complaint with corporate. Took several months to get a reply from corporate and when I responded to the person it said he was out of office. I tried again and no word ever since and it's been several more months. read more

This is based on my most recent experience buying a purse in Macy's. I had tried about 8-10 purses and they had security locks on these so the salesperson had to keep unlocking and locking the ones I did not want back. Unfortunately, stores now have to resort to this bc of unscrupulous criminals so I do not fault Macy's-it has to do what it has to do to protect their bottom line. However, I do appreciate Dawn's patience and service with a smile at all times. She was very helpful and guided us perfectly! One other customer was waiting just for her assistance and said she will only go to Dawn! Wow- that is impressive! Ryan, the manager of the department, was very knowledgeable about the purses as well! He was also helpful! I liked his selection the best actually in terms of style, but it was a bit too cumbersome. I still am contemplating if I should go and also get that particular purse bc I liked the design. I was very happy about the excellent service I received from Macy's. Oh, and I got Zendaya's new perfume called Idôle as I kept passing by their huge display and spritzing the tester which smelled really light and fresh. The salesperson at the Lancôme counter was also very helpful. You have to try that new perfume- we were all gushing about the scent! I love Macy's and Concord and the Westfield Mall in San Jose has the ones I like to shop at...Macy's is one of my favorite stores! read more

I don't even know where to begin! Customer service/staff members in the men's & woman's section is extremely incompetent. I called one day to see if they had any maternity clothes and they kept transferring me to a different representative finally I got a hold of somebody and they said yes they do have a maternity section. And since there are no stores nearby dedicated to maternity I was excited to know they "had" one. I called prior to going because I have two toddlers and I am eight months pregnant and wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time. I usually do not go to malls alone without my husband because it's a lot handling two toddlers with no stroller (no I don't own one). When I got there I found out they didn't have any maternity clothes and were dismissive when I tried to complain to them about wasting my time! Another time it was impossible getting a hold of anyone in the men's department. They never answered my husbands calls within the 30 min we took to consistently call them on our way.
