The girl that helped me (I think her name was Mariah) was so sweet, and made my grumpy baby crack a smile! Happy to have this new location.

Damn, I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews but I actually REGRET not chewing out the staff that…read morewas in today. Mind you, this store only has one of each size out on the floor so you HAVE to rely on staff in order to ****ing buy anything. My partner and I came in to buy 4 shirts, shoes, shorts, a tie, and potentially even a suit. We asked to see the shirts to which the employee gave us a HUGE attitude and refused to go in the back or even use the store device to check for other sizes?? He handed us a shirt in the wrong color & size from off the floor instead, saying "well, they all have the same fit so..." which I don't understand because the store is only about 400 sq feet, we were the only customers there, and there's only sample sizes so it's not like he has to standardize anything??? Not to mention, we were in about four hours before closing, so I can't think of any reason for this unwillingness to help. Any time we asked to try on something, we were met with some excuse to not have it. I can only assume that the staff here doesn't work on commission because we even asked to order stuff that wasn't available in-store to which we were told to just "do it [ourselves]" on the phone. I worked in retail for seven years, and am always cautious to treat other staff members with utmost respect, but the way this particular employee behaved towards my partner was completely unprofessional and outright ugly. Completely disappointed. Despite loving the clothing here, we certainly won't be back -- and seeing how many other one star reviews there are for the terrible service... I definitely think management should look into improving their hiring practices.

The clothing is hip and cool, and the fabrics and high quality. The jeans are lux and the tops are cozy and feel good to the touch. It's a larger space than the Atlas location in Walnut Creek, so they're able to carry a lot of styles for both men and women! Speaking of styles, their displays are set up by trend and not by vendor, so you can quickly put together a casual, trendy, or sophisticated outfit. They are the *only* place that carries the G-Star brand for BOTH men AND women outside of G-Star retail locations. Other vendors in their collection include the Canadian labels Dex and Tulle. In addition, they carry the Groceries label, created by a local from Pleasant Hill : ) Their target market is from 25 y.o. - 50 y.o., but the owner said that he hopes that younger and older clients will find their clothing accessible as well. *Note: The clock tower will be getting a makeover, as well as the doors to the store, and ultimately the entire plaza to make it more of a shopping destination, so watch for changes to come! *Tip: You can find out about their in-store wine tasting events with Do-Good Wines on their Facebook page : )

It's beyond messy and hard to look around. They should definitely have a couple more people to help out with organizing the store and making sure things aren't all over the floor. I know it's a busy time and it's hard to keep up but the Pleasanton Zara seems a lot easier to shop at and a little bit "cleaner".

After standing in a long line to the cashier, I asked the lady cashier for a stock check because the shirt I got had loose threads and no other size on the rack. She found one and they need to get it from the stockroom, which would take additional 5-10min. She gave me instructions to pick up the item at the front of the store, on the Collections rack. I thought I could purchase the shirt and wait for it at the front...but no she sent me away. (I didn't understand why I had to leave the cashier after waiting in a long line, pick up the item I was trying to purchase at the front door area, then go back to the cashier again to purchase the item. What a weird process! Never experienced this with other stores.) I had to reiterate, that I just lined up for 10min and I don't want to have to line up AGAIN. She said, "no, you don't line up again. Just go to the side(front of cashier), and WE'LL take you IN FRONT of the line." Ok, I thought that was fair. I left and waited another 5min-10min for the replacement shirt. Walked back to the side of the cashier, front of the line. There was a different cashier, 1 person in line for purchase, and 1 person to the right at Return/Exchange line. The Cashier didn't acknowledge me when he saw me(like "do you have any question, or I'll be right with you.."). When he finished with a customer, I approached the cashier, explained that I picked up the item from stock and I was told to come back to the front of the line. Then he told me with an attitude that,"you just got here and I need to help the person in line." I further explained that I was at the cashier earlier, but was told to leave to pick up the stock and return to the front of the line. He said, with an eye roll, "well, I didn't tell you that." So I stood in line again, and waited for the 3rd time! When he finished with the customer, he wouldn't assist me, and called the other person in line for returns, avoiding me. So I stepped closer again to the cashier, asking for assistance. He moved away from me to use the other cash register, took the other customer, and told me why he wouldn't assist me, "I don't like your attitude." I was surprised..and I answered back, "you don't need to like my attitude, but you guys should know how to follow your "OWN PROCESS AND PROCEDURES." (It's ashamed that you employ a person who can't deliver professional service, who needs more training to follow Zara's OWN process!!!) Maybe if I was instructed to go back in line after waiting for the replacement stock, I would've decided then if: 1-it was worth the wait to go back in line again 2-additional wait time for a replacement stock 3-or purchase the shirt I originally lined up for, but live with the poor quality of loose threads on the seams and collar. I would've went back in line, in peace, and not be harassed by your own employee. No wonder, you guys have 1.5stars on YELP! It's embarrassing. If more customers shopped online, you're jeopardizing the dying practice of professional customer service, and corporate could close down the store, and jobs would be on the line. I'm in customer service so I know how it is to properly treat a paying customer.

This is the closest Alo location to me, and I've visited many times. Out of all my visits, I've only had one truly great experience - and that was back in October 2025. Most of the time, no one greets me or asks if I need assistance, which is why I end up doing about 90% of my shopping online and only come in-store for returns or exchanges. During this visit, I was quickly browsing and trying things on when a tag must have come off one of the items. I was in a bit of a rush, but I'm always intentional about what I select. The associate working the fitting room never introduced herself and made me feel uncomfortable, as if I was being treated with suspicion rather than as a customer. I'm not sure if the reaction was due to my race, the tag, or something else, but the interaction felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. As someone who shops the brand regularly and is part of their "All Access" rewards program - and even gets invited in for personal shopping - this experience was disappointing. I'll likely stick to online shopping moving forward. Alo, there's definitely an opportunity here to better train staff on customer service and how to treat loyal customers.

How much does a tissue paper cost?…read more Today I took my 83 year old mother out shopping to buy a baby shower stuffed animal. Her total purchase was $31. (2 stuffed animals purchased separately) I also purchased 3 baby books totaling $31. My mother asked for one of the stuffed animals to be wrapped in tissue paper to stay clean, and the woman who assisted her was very friendly and very accommodating to her disabled condition. However, the manager, D.Green, who checked us out at the register was reluctant to give us one more piece of tissue paper for the second stuffed animal when my mother asked for it - because it did not make the $20 minimum purchase gift wrap requirement. My mother did not ask for it to be gift wrapped. She asked for a piece of tissue paper, just so the fuzzy animal stayed clean. When the manager told my mother the purchase did not qualify for a piece of tissue paper, I spoke up and said I just bought $31 of books, does that qualify? She replied, 'no, that's on a different receipt' We left without the piece of tissue paper. I called the Store, and coincidently the Manager is who checked us out. I spoke to her because my mother was very upset and is a local resident. I do not live in the area. The manager stated she was following the policy. McCaulou's on Clayton Road just lost a local customer over a 5 cent piece of tissue paper! As a Manager myself I would never argue with a customer over a piece of tissue paper. The woman who wrapped the first gift was great, the Manager, however, needs customer service training as we were not rude or inconsiderate at any time towards her or any staff members.
