Zara is my store for men's clothing . I bought all my clothes for my Italy trip and looked very European

If I could give negative stars, I would for the awful service! A lot of improvement needed and better CS training. After standing in a long line to the cashier, I asked the lady cashier for a stock check because the shirt I got had loose threads and no other size on the rack. She found one and they need to get it from the stockroom, which would take additional 5-10min. She gave me instructions to pick up the item at the front of the store, on the Collections rack. I thought I could purchase the shirt and wait for it at the front...but no she sent me away. (I didn't understand why I had to leave the cashier after waiting in a long line, pick up the item I was trying to purchase at the front door area, then go back to the cashier again to purchase the item. What a weird process! Never experienced this with other stores.) I had to reiterate, that I just lined up for 10min and I don't want to have to line up AGAIN. She said, "no, you don't line up again. Just go to the side(front of cashier), and WE'LL take you IN FRONT of the line." Ok, I thought that was fair. I left and waited another 5min-10min for the replacement shirt. Walked back to the side of the cashier, front of the line. There was a different cashier, 1 person in line for purchase, and 1 person to the right at Return/Exchange line. The Cashier didn't acknowledge me when he saw me(like "do you have any question, or I'll be right with you.."). When he finished with a customer, I approached the cashier, explained that I picked up the item from stock and I was told to come back to the front of the line. Then he told me with an attitude that,"you just got here and I need to help the person in line." I further explained that I was at the cashier earlier, but was told to leave to pick up the stock and return to the front of the line. He said, with an eye roll, "well, I didn't tell you that." So I stood in line again, and waited for the 3rd time! When he finished with the customer, he wouldn't assist me, and called the other person in line for returns, avoiding me. So I stepped closer again to the cashier, asking for assistance. He moved away from me to use the other cash register, took the other customer, and told me why he wouldn't assist me, "I don't like your attitude." I was surprised..and I answered back, "you don't need to like my attitude, but you guys should know how to follow your "OWN PROCESS AND PROCEDURES." (It's ashamed that you employ a person who can't deliver professional service, who needs more training to follow Zara's OWN process!!!) Maybe if I was instructed to go back in line after waiting for the replacement stock, I would've decided then if: 1-it was worth the wait to go back in line again 2-additional wait time for a replacement stock 3-or purchase the shirt I originally lined up for, but live with the poor quality of loose threads on the seams and collar. I would've went back in line, in peace, and not be harassed by your own employee. No wonder, you guys have 1.5stars on YELP! It's embarrassing. If more customers shopped online, you're jeopardizing the dying practice of professional customer service, and corporate could close down the store, and jobs would be on the line. I'm in customer service so I know how it is to properly treat a paying customer. read more

Embarrassing and unacceptable experience. I had a very disappointing experience at Zara on February 6th around 1:05 PM. My husband purchased a men's jacket for $140.93. He shops at Zara often, so this was a normal visit. After paying, we were given our bag and left the store--but the alarm went off. We immediately stopped and cooperated. Instead of handling it professionally, a staff member approached us in a very rude and accusatory way. We went back to the register, where the cashier confirmed we had paid and printed our receipt. Even after that, the same employee continued to raise her voice, called security, and there was even a police officer present. It was extremely embarrassing. People were staring, and we were treated like we had stolen something--even with proof of purchase. It honestly felt like we were being profiled, which made the situation even worse. To top it off, my husband was told he was banned from the store, despite being a loyal customer. I've worked in retail for over 15 years, and this is not how situations like this should be handled. There's a respectful and professional way to approach customers, and this was not it. We still have our receipt, and management should review the cameras from that time. Horrible service without a smile. Return date on shipping receipt was today. yet in store hassled us saying no return allowed X amount of days past shipping date. Used my phone number for return initially. Left store. Returned after finding emailed receipt proving return date. The cashier first claimed couldn't tell me shipping date yet couldn't accept return. Find receipt in my email showing deadline date. After all that a refund was received. cashiers still gave me shit saying oh well this and that then gave refund. $170.00 wasted cause the inefficient cashiers and store PoS machines. read more

This store has the most ridiculous line I've ever seen. There's plenty of staff walking around doing other non important things but only one cashier to ring up purchases and one doing returns. Call me crazy but I would think a retail store should invest in assisting customers with their purchases as soon as possible instead of spending time putting away and organizing clothes. Good clothing selection but customer service needs to be revamped ! My daughter came to get some work attire and by the time we were done the fitting rooms were closed ! They don't really care and it's very apparent the store is still thriving because of the brand new. Free parking and lots of other stores in this places make it worth the visit . read more

Came here at 6pm on Saturday. Spent 30 minutes finding clothes to try on. Only to find out that the fitting rooms are closed. I asked the employee and they said they close the fitting rooms an hour before close. But it was 1.5 hours before close and the fitting rooms had clearly been closed for a while. Also, the AC was off/broken and they had us sweating in there. The vibes are off at this location. A clothing store is useless to me if the fitting rooms are closed. Period. Never seen this before in my life. People are huffing and puffing trying to try things on over their clothes throughout the store. Is this the new norm? You also can't get a printed receipt they want your phone number to text the receipt or else they need manager approval for a printed receipt. This store is not for me. I'll admit, this might be the Zara I usually visit and shop the most in the US. Otherwise the usual Zara I go to is the Taipei 101 one in Taipei and the difference is night and day. Seems to be really disorganized, can't seem to get the staffing levels right, online pickup is usually a joke and employees, I get it: job kinda sucks and low minimum wage retail, but not the most helpful. I know my companions are the foreign Zara stores with more organization (although Honolulu is more organized in the United States). If Zara offered free return shipping, probably wouldn't even be visiting the store. Item selection here is ok at best. I usually just do online pickup and returns. I sometimes really don't understand why I continue to shop here. read more

I've been a very loyal Zara customer for years and recently spent $1,400 on an online order. Unfortunately, I was out of the country for my wedding, followed immediately by the holidays, and missed the return window by a short period. All items were unworn, with tags, and in original condition, yet Zara refused to grant a one-time exception, even after I explained the circumstances and requested a manager review. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! They are not flexible, even for a once in a lifetime event like a wedding they won't let you return what didn't fit and was new and never worn!! I repeat don't shop here!! Go to H&M or Mango immediately!!! I understand return policies exist, but many retailers make reasonable exceptions for loyal customers especially for large purchases and major life events. The lack of flexibility and empathy in this situation was extremely stressful and disappointing. DO NOT SHOP HERE AND SHAME ON ZARA. I purchased a garment but did not receive a receipt even though i gave the salesperson my cell phone number for her to text me the receipt. Then I tried to call the store - phone had been disconnected. In fact, all the telephone numbers for Zara in the Bay Area are disconnected. So can't contact them at all. This location is great and the staff were sweet! I love this location because it's convenient with the other stores around. However, I just don't like coming here during their sales. It's beyond messy and hard to look around. They should definitely have a couple more people to help out with organizing the store and making sure things aren't all over the floor. I know it's a busy time and it's hard to keep up but the Pleasanton Zara seems a lot easier to shop at and a little bit "cleaner". read more

Don't expect much when coming here. The womens inventory is blah compared to other locations. They do have plenty of denim jean styles and their inseam is tall girl friendly. I really like Zara's clothes and have shopped at several of their stores, however this one is terrible. Yes they have a good selection but their customer service is terrible. I went to this location to exchange some clothes that my sisters mother in law had gotten my daughter. I just wanted to size up. I told the woman at the register I just wanted to exchange the clothes. She said well these are the ones that don't fit? And I said yes. She then scans the receipt, scans the items, and tells me that the money is now back on the card they were purchased with. I was upset! I was so embarrassed that the woman would think I returned the clothes she got for my daughter. I explained the situation and the employee told me that I should have told her before hand. I said I told you i just wanted to exchange. She said well there is nothing I can do about it now. Then she took the next customer. It was so rude. Also, Zara lost out on money. Racially Profiled at This Location I was with my mother and my 10-month-old daughter, carrying a clear CAL backpack and pushing a stroller. After trying on some clothes, I decided not to purchase anything. As we left, the sensors went off. We paused, looking around for the next store to visit. A blonde woman who works at this location aggressively approached us, assuming we had stolen clothing. She made a blatantly racist comment, claiming my mom was "probably using her own personal bag as a shopping bag." Moments later, a man came from behind her and admitted that the alarm had been triggered by him -- it was an "in-house" matter and had nothing to do with us. Instead of offering an apology for the misunderstanding and the offensive assumption, the woman dismissed us and walked away. No accountability, no professionalism. This experience was humiliating and unacceptable, especially in front of my child. Based on other reviews, it's clear this is not an isolated incident. I was in this store with my 8 and 11 year old boys. We entered the kids fitting room (there were 2 curtained rooms total). I had a ton of stuff to try on mostly my 8 year old and anyone who regularly shops Zara knows the fit is different from garment to garment. So literally every item needs to be tried on. I was rushing my son from one item to the next. My 11 year old came in to the room and next thing I see is an older female sales associate with an accent grab the curtain as if she was going to open it and said "you need to try clothes on faster" "there is a line" I responded by saying we were going as fast as we can. She then said, "we should only be trying on 2-3 items. Not all items." I told her that wasn't how it worked and that if they want me to buy the clothes we needed to try them on. I couldn't believe her. I came out with a ton of stuff to buy and saw her and asked if she wanted to me to buy what I had or not?!" She said no no it's ok. You're ok" wtff I was so upset and if we didn't have a trip I would have left everything. I spent over $600 that day. Worst customer service. This was back on 5/9/26. I love this location. Their selection of toddler clothing is exceptional offering a variety of pieces in all styles and types. The price points are always reasonable and the uniqueness of pieces I love to adorn my lil one in for as long as she allows me to do so. My husband favors this location for its variety of styles, types and selection. As for myself, this is the one location I can actually browse and location a selection of pieces I leave with. The store is spacious, well organized, abundant in selection and style for the entire family and is easy to park and navigate within. This is the one location we continually return to for mostly wants and will continue to do so. As far as service from staff, they are hit and miss. We had a friendly woman assist us when we initially arrived. When we were ready to depart at checkout, a woman assisted us with attitude, a lack of professionalism and a disregard for customer service in the slightest. Her mannerism was consistent with each customer she assisted, which is gravely unfortunate. Hopefully customer service will be a higher focal point and priority at this location. I used to come to this Zara location all the time a while back. The few times I have been here recently the employees are so rude for no reason. They talk to each other nice and friendly but once it's to a customer their tone completely changes. The only exception is security at the door who has always been nice and welcoming and sometimes the fitting room person. Other than that the employees make me not like shopping at this location let alone even supporting the brand on their online store since seeing all the other reviews corporate seems like they don't care and allow rude behavior anyways. Clothes are decent. Sometimes quality isn't worth the price. Sizing is off sometimes so have to try everything on. There are a few pieces I love. I wouldn't recommend this store really but if you do see something you really like just get it online or maybe a different location is better read more

The absolute worst customer service from every employee I had interaction with including the manager working yesterday November 15 at 7 PM. A white young woman with piercings in her face, who wouldn't provide her name. I can't remember if she had a name tag on. When I tried to call the store to get the managers name, once I went back to my vehicle they never answered the phone even though they did not close for another 30+ minutes. For being a manager, I believe this young woman has no experience in customer service or she clearly hates her job. She should go somewhere else that makes her happy because her face and her attitude did not demonstrate happiness or that she cared about her customers. She's rude, so in turn her employees are rude because they are just following their leaders lead. I don't understand how this place still exists. This place deserves a BIG 0 STARS read more

If I could give this Zara zero stars I would... I have shopped at Zara for years -- they were huge in Asia way before the states and shop their sister brands pull bear etc but this store is the ruddest store ever. I had a return and threw it in a bag that had some dried flowers and it had a tiny bit of pampas grass residue on two pairs od pants -- two shakes could easily remove it (I didn't realize it was on it) and they scrutinized it as if it was worn- I literally had it for a week because I bought multiple sizes for my sons home coming dance ... they did return it after I shook the pants twice for it to come off.. but Jesus Christ you guys act like this is a Chanel boutique -- this wasn't the only incident but this was the most recent one. This is fast fashion and you're going to get a mix of clientele but to be scrutinized over 2-3 pieces of pampas grass seeds on a pair of pants is ridiculous. Please work on your attitudes and terrible customer service - it's unfortunate that I do shop here quite a bit because my daughter also models and she needs neutral clothing for filming on set but I'm th future I'll check out H&M or gap when I can read more

I haven't been here in a hot minute. ButDD wanted cargo straight leg pants and I knew they'd carry them. They did. I guess if you want trendy styles without paying the designer prices, this is the place to go. I even saw these wide leg light grey jeans that I almost bought by Mother. but for a fraction of the price. The holiday season has begun with long lines to pay and try on clothes and piles of unfolded clothes. There's Christmas music playing aloud to lift up your spirits, singing along to old tunes. Just remember to be kind and patient. The staff are all doing their best to get you in and out of there to get you out the door to finish your shopping. read more

Despite some of the reviews I read prior to coming I was actually pleased. I ordered some things off line for my son but he was too big for them so I went to exchange them. Sadly one of the items they did not carry in the store but that was okay I still exchange two out of the three things. Staff was doing their best considering how busy it was in the store. The clothing selections were nice, but the employees' attitudes were horrendous. Especially the woman who was guiding customers to the fitting room--she definitely ruined our day. Shopping has always been, and should always be, a fun experience for customers. People don't go shopping to be dictated to by store employees. This employee was somehow very hostile towards us, making requests in a very unfriendly manner. For example, she required customers to hang the clothes outside because she was too busy to do it herself, and she denied the two of us the opportunity to go into the fitting room together, not allowing us to try on the clothes that the other person brought. She even made some comments toward my friend while she was in line. My friend is a nice person, so she just apologized. I wanted to know why she had to apologize when she was merely standing in line, but my friend didn't want to escalate the situation. I felt that the employee would be upset if I wanted to go out to get different sizes or if I stayed in the fitting room longer than she deemed acceptable. I don't know if she was having a bad day or if she just didn't like us for no reason. read more

I miss southern CA because of their clothing selection. I am not sure why the Bay Area has the worst options and I could never find any of the online items for Zara. I was in Bali/Hawaii earlier this year and they had way better selection than this store or the one in Pleasanton. read more

Good to see that everything inside the store appears normal like how I used to remember it, not counting the mask & social distancing requirements and a few hand sanitizer stands. Furthermore, cannot believe such a long line outside waiting to enter due to limited numbers inside the store at one time. I'll never come back to this location. Staff clearly doesn't care about customer service. Being a past retail ASM, I'm usually biased towards those in retail automatically. Anyways, came here with my mom and infant daughter yesterday around 5pm. My mom was looking for some clothes for a trip and I wanted some pants since I haven't gone shopping since giving birth. This was BY FAR the worst shopping experience I've had. Fitting rooms were closed without any prior warning or legit reasoning. There was just a sign saying they were closed and the area was closed off. We were bummed because we just spent time gathering items we thought we'd be able to try on. When my mom tried to hand an associate in the fitting room vicinity the clothes she wanted to try on the associate told her "you can just put them back where you found it" to which my mom responded "I'm gonna give them to you since I can't try them on" I also commented that we would be doing her job if we were putting the clothes back. It was one inconvenience after the other. Despite all of this I still decided to make a purchase since I really liked some items that I found. We asked another associate why the fitting rooms were closed and she said "we have them open from 10-2 or 10-5 sometimes" which basically told us nothing. We asked the cashier why the fitting rooms were closed, she didn't know herself so she asked the other cashier and said "it was because of coverage. " when asked to speak to a manager because they're inconveniencing multiple customers at this point, they said there's multiple, we can't give any names. Finally my mom was able to get in contact with a manager before we left and she said "they're closed because of Covid" Unfortunately I had to make the trip back to Zara to try on different sizes. And just ended up doing a return altogether. Staff is not friendly and managers don't manage. They're clearly more concerned about doing go backs and standardizing and getting ready for closing instead of actually helping customers have a decent shopping experience. read more

Worst customer service at store (666, 5th Av), the manager made me wait 15minutes, before helping me and bypassed me to help someone else. Customer service on the phone was the worst. They gave incorrect information and didn't really understand English. Their Chatbot was useless this is the message I got "You are contacting Zara Customer Service. It seems that your query is not related to our service. Is there anything else I can assist you with?" All the online assistance came up with same message even though I provided the order#. Their exchange policy is definitely not the way American stores handle exchanges - I wanted my Black Friday Sale item price honored for an exchange for a larger size, they said they couldn't do that and that I need to pay the full price of the item if I were to exchange. Doesn't seem fair at all. I know it's a Spanish based store but they are doing business in America, not Spain/Europe. read more

Outlandish customer service behavior with no response from corporate: Threatened to call the police on me when I asked to see a manager after an employee (I kid you not) tried to yank jeans out of my hands when we were disagreeing on what line I should wait in and for how long. I would be happy for people to review the footage. Despite this all being on camera, Zara corporate never got back to me. Not only that, but both the employee (who lied about the incident) and his next in command (who actually walked in on it happening) denied this taking place, despite everything being on camera that would show otherwise, but to top it all off they then denied that their manager was available to discuss (she was upstairs). Lies upon lies upon lies here. You would think that if your employee was being accused of this someone would want to follow up when it happened or after...but no, this was a failure on 3 levels of hierarchy at Zara (only the lady manager, whom I was finally able to talk to showed any morality and reason). read more

I had a horrible experience on 11/03/24! As I entered the store another person was leaving and the alarm went off. I didn't see anything I wanted and upon leaving the store the alarm went off. The security person at the door accused me of stealing a small bag if some sort. I didn't have any bags so he then asked to look inside my purse which is small. I declined because that was a violation of my privacy! To prove him wrong I allowed him to look in my purse and of course I didn't have what he was accusing me of having. No apology no nothing!! I am loyal Zara shopper; however, the Walnut Creek location seems like more of a clearance store as opposed to SF where they have the newest styles. The service is like that as well. I wanted to get a different size and had the craziest encounter with a cashier. He told me I'd have to look it as he was unable to help or call anyone for a stock check. Without going into a loot of details, he said, there was no district manager, he could not tell me his name and there was not a person in the store to help me.
