Of all of the clothing shops my daughter goes to, Brandy Melville's always at the top of the list. There's bad press about this brand (just watch the documentary), but I think more people visit now, young and old! Now, there's a security guard who won't let you bring any food inside (place drinks on the stool outside of the door), and he minds the line that can go half a block long. Prices are affordable but not cheap - can't say that all materials are quality though! You could return the clothes with tags on within 30 days with receipt for store credit/ no refunds. All items are ONE SIZE and they are not consistent, so be forewarned! read more

This is one of the larger sized locations I've been to which I appreciate shopping in because who wants to shop in crowded spaces? I always wondered why people like to use the fitting rooms here, b/c I thought most of these products were so basic and simple that the fit should be fine. It's actually nice to try items on as each piece could be made slightly different. I ended up not liking a tank I had grabbed in multiple colors because it looked too small for me. Randomly grabbed a pair of earrings I had seen near the register as my final item to purchase along with a pair of nice shorts, and a couple of other basic tanks. I wasn't sure about the earrings, but I received so many compliments the times I've worn them that I am so happy with my purchase. The price of the items here is also decent. They don't let you try on clothes, and if what you buy doesn't end up fitting they only give you store credit. Worse, we bought a gift for a friend and cut the price portion off of the tag (as you do with gifts) and included a gift receipt. It doesn't fit, and now the store won't even give store credit because the tag was cut - even with the gift receipt and actual receipt as evidence of purchase. Just ridiculous. read more

Terrible customer service, they are so unprofessional I don't know why it's so hard for teenagers to have human decency. Some girl with piercings was rude asf. And no fitting rooms? This brandy melville is on the bigger side compared to the other locations. It is mostly neat with easy to find items. I came here with a goal of finding their cable knit cardigans and I found so many colors. I ended up walking out with two. The cropped versions are $32. The longer versions are $38. The employees were also very helpful as I was looking for a cardigan that was on the mannequin. They couldn't find any either and helped take it off the mannequin for me. First off, no fitting rooms and not even a mirror?? The cashier who checked me out had a snarky attitude the whole time and barely communicated with me. She gave me insincere and fake ass smiles then looked hella annoyed right afterward. She never once mentioned that the return policy changed to store credit only. Since I couldn't even try anything on, I took everything home and came back a couple hours later to return what didn't fit. That's when I found out it's store credit only. I told them nobody mentioned it when I checked out, and they said it was on the bottom of the receipt. A policy like that should be told to customers BEFORE they pay, especially when there are no fitting rooms or mirrors. The girls helping me with the return were just doing their job, but the cashier should've communicated the policy at checkout. Overall, really frustrating experience. read more

Avoid the Walnut Creek location. They have permanently closed their fitting rooms and removed all mirrors, making it impossible to see how clothes look. This is a massive trap because they have a rigid 14-day, exchange-only policy with no refunds. You get stuck in a frustrating loop of buying, trying on at home, and being forced to exchange for things you don't even want.To top it off, the customer service is awful. The employees openly exchanged judgmental looks when my daughter tried a shirt on over her clothes, and they gave me attitude over making exact change for a cash payment. Unprofessional staff, terrible policies--save your time and money and shop somewhere else. read more

This location is off the mall but still close to the Walnut Creek shopping center. It was packed when we went a week ago. The line for the coed dressing room was at least 20 people long, maybe more. The cashier's line took like 10 min. But yeah, none of us tried on anything. Quality is poor not sure why this place is so hyped. Super outwardly racist and unprofessional service. Had the most baffling experience at this store. I was at the counter and the worker ringing me up was talking to another coworker. How I hate this store. I hate that it's fast fashion. I hate that it's only one size. I hate that it's so expensive for what it is. However, my kid loves it. One of my best friends calls it the "white girl summering in Nantucket" store. If you are a teen girl, you will love it. The selection is mostly shorts and T-shirts and little dresses. There is seating outside for bored adults waiting for their children but it's not shaded. I would like the store better if they provided a little bench where adults could sit and wait for their children. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of seating in the store, it's just covered by clothes because of their cool aesthetic. The free stickers are cute. This location is down the street from an outdoor mall. Parking is a bit challenging because it's a main shopping area in Walnut Creek filled with brand named stores and 3-5 star restaurants. The merchandise is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality of the clothes seems okay. I honestly think customers just love the Brandy Melville brand. While we shopped, I noticed a lot of cropped t-shirts with "New York" printed on them and expensive boy shorts ($18?) Found some sweaters but they were over $30. Everything I found were in earthy colors. I'm a mom of a teenage girl and she loves this store. She wears a size 0 to 1 so she always finds something to buy. As for me, I usually stick to the accessories and cute tote bags. One thing about the tote bags, they're super thin yet very fashionable. I bought a cute beanie today for $15. Cute store for teens, not so much for the anyone who wears anything over a size 7 in jeans. The only con: We waited in line for about 20 minutes. The pros: The cashiers were friendly and I love the the aesthetics inside, especially the led lights on the ceiling. read more

We went on our annual girls shopping trip. My girls normally all love the store. First off they don't allow any drinks in their so even though there is a Starbucks directly across the street. All of us had to throw our brand new drinks away. So that was an annoying way to start. Then they make you wait in line sometimes for quite a long time before you can go in and they only allow a few people at a time. We got lucky on our day that we were there. We only had to wait about 10 minutes. Still annoying, but some people had to wait over an hour. Then went inside. We were informed that the dressing room rooms are closed and that they only give you Store credit on returns. This is crazy! They need to let you try on clothes. Also you should be able to return something and get money back in the same form of payment that you paid. If they wanna put a certain number of days like 7 days or 10 days or even 30 days that's fine but at least give people an opportunity to try on the clothes and then get your money back if it doesn't fit. I feel like they give you all these impossible situations. I now have a several hundred dollar credit to Brandee Melville and we're only up there once a year. This is horrible customer service. Additionally, not sure how they're treating their employees at this location but one little girl quit on cashier in the middle of her shift while she was ringing people up. She said that she had been left there for four hours. Meanwhile, there were several other employees were standing around talking and not doing anything productive. Maybe one of them or all three of them that were talking in the back could've been in charge of the dressing room that was closed. That would've been nice. So not sure what's going on there, but it doesn't look like they're taking care of these girls. This was a really unpleasant shopping experience and a terrible customer service experience. This is the worst Brandy Melville EVER. I was shopping and saw something off of a mannequin which was the exact thing I wanted in the exact color. I asked a lady who was at the cashier she wasn't doing anything just standing there so I thought I'd ask her. She said no she can't get it down for me. Which was weird because at the same brandy another girl offered to get something off of a mannequin for me. Also if your restocking everyday, getting new shipments everyday, re-dressing your mannequins everyday, and having many of the items I wanted in the back couldn't you just give that one on the mannequin for me?! This is crazy and now I'll have to buy an $18 dollar top which is now $30 because of the shipping. So I wasted my time, gas, MONEY, on an expensive top I could've gotten for cheaper if they just took it down from the mannequin. Oh, did I also mention that there's nothing stated in the policy that they can't take down anything off the mannequin? That's weird oh ok. Literally don't go to this one. It is so bad. read more

I was in WC for the weekend and my 16 year old shops online for BM clothing. I did a FaceTime so she could virtually shop with me. I will say a few things she saw online weren't in the store so we scratched that idea and just found things in the store. As a parent, I had no idea it was one size fits almost all (teens). Keep that in mind when shopping there. I also bought what I thought was a heart necklace which turned out to be a bracelet, but it's because the jewelry is near the checkout counter and everyone is looking at it while also trying to check out. The store was a little hard for me to navigate through, being petite in height so I was happy the staff could help. It does look like they could use a few more hands as there's so much inventory there and it's just not manageable with the few hands on deck. I wish we had this store near us in the Frederick, MD area. We could use it for sure and the kids would be so excited! read more

I love coming to this store--it's usually clean, well-organized, and easy to shop in. However, I'm giving 3 stars due to issues with the fitting room. This is the second time I've had to wait an extended period (around 15 minutes) for the family fitting room while having my 5-month-old in a stroller, only to find it occupied by a single individual not using it for family or accessibility needs. Unless the store has a policy allowing it in certain cases--perhaps to move the line along faster--I'd really encourage staff to be mindful and considerate of those shopping with children or in need of accessible spaces. Most clothing stores reserve those rooms for families or ADA use, and I hope Brandy Melville will consider doing the same, if it isn't already standard practice. read more

As a frequent brandy buyer, I was in here sometime in June and I love all brandy's clothing but my only issue is the workers. Somehow brandy melville makes it their mission to hire rude unprofessional teenage girls. I went to go try on some clothing and the about 14 year old girls managing the fitting rooms looks me and up and down and was so unbelievably rude. I was being very polite with her as someone who works in customer service as well, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and just carried on to try on my stuff. I left the fitting room and shopped around some more, then came back to try on more items. The same young girl seemed bothered, almost like I was interrupting her when I simply wanted to try on some more clothes. It was two girls and they were being extremely unprofessional, as im standing there waiting them to acknowledge my existence they are gossiping about how their mom had to drop them off because they don't yet have their license. I think I might've come back one third and final time to try on some more tops I found and the girl was very annoyed with me. Mind you, there wasn't even a line so it's not like i'm over here wasting time and not letting others use the fitting rooms. When I walk out the girl asks me for the number they hand you when you get a fitting room that shows the number of clothing items you have. In the moment I did hear her but I had no clue she was talking to me so I walked out of the fitting room area. I then hear her and her young co worker make a comment along the line of "what the heck" or "howthen begin laughing at me. I turned around, no clue they had been talking to me and I just told them I hadnt heard them, I didn't know they were talking to me, I mean NOW you want to do your job as i'm walking out, not when I came in the fitting room those 3 times! Then i told them she had never given me a number as I had like 1 or 2 items and she made a rude face and started snickering again as I walked away. As someone who has spent probably close to thousands on Brandy Melville clothing, online as well as in store at multiple locations, I find a common theme of being disappointed every time I set foot in the Walnut Creek Brandy location. Sometimes, very rarely a girl at the checkout will be sweet but most often the workers are judgmental and rude. I would say I am basically Brandy's demographic, being a younger girl myself and skinny (brandy's target audience) I somehow STILL manage to feel out of place every time I set foot in there. Brandy please stop hiring little 14 year old girls who don't want to do their job. As a customer for the past 8 years, I will be sticking to ordering online from now on. read more

The worker with the ruffled layered outfit with the pig tails and the bow was super rude to me and my friends. She was also slow with the checking out process. This is not a good environment for people with dust allergies. It's been quite some time since I've last visited this location, but I decided to stop by for some comfy basics. It was a little bit busier this Sunday because of Valentine's Day, but not too bad. They have hand sanitizer for consumers at the door, but no max store capacity, so it was pretty packed when I walked in. But most consumers were already in line to check out, so by the time I paid for my stuff, the store was at half the capacity that it was. I used to hate coming here because most sales associates would not greet you, there was basically no interaction, and if there was, it wasn't warm or friendly. During this visit, one associate helped grab a t-shirt that was displayed up high, and the other associate who rang me up was polite and did her job. Like I said, it was a busy Sunday so there wasn't much opportunity for great customer service. Ultimately, it was a much improved shopping experience in comparison to the sour taste the other visits have left me in the past. Other than that, I love the items I purchased and will probably be back in the future when I need more basics. read more

With my efforts to always boost and support businesses, I also have to give my honest review. I had a bad experience here. But they deserve some stars for the cleanliness of the stores, and for the young girls who were apologetic. This review is more for the corporate management. There are MAJOR issues that need improvement because it seems like they're behind in terms of system, service, or training, if they want to survive these challenging times, Covid or post-Covid. It was my 1st time purchasing this brand for my 12yo daughter. I knew she couldn't try on the jeans, so I hesitated buying it at Emeryville. But the salesperson encouraged us that if it didn't fit, we could return it to the WC store near us, within 14 days. I thought that was nice sales talk. So after 10days, my daughter decided that she didn't like the baggy jeans look. To our surprise, Brandy Melville in Walnut Creek, told us they don't give refunds!?!? They blamed the Emeryville store and said that "she was new." That girl was the ONLY ONE in that store, so I don't think they would've left a new employee with "training" knowledge, all by herself. Then they INSISTED for my email address, after I already said "No." They said it was to process my credit(so no choice there!). Then I received a "paper receipt" for $43! They couldn't afford a plastic card or card stock? I thought, "this will get thrown away by accident, get wet, torn, or eaten by a dog! Were we in the 90s?" Then the power went out, so they started doing purchases via handheld device using Square. So I insisted for my daughter to look for something to exchange, and I don't need to hold on to the paper credit. Success..she wanted overpriced sweatpants and we get to use her credit! Again, they refused us because they said there was no power. I pointed to the device where people, lined up before us, purchased items. She said not for credits??? I was lost with their policies! I wanted to complain but it wouldn't have changed anything. So here I am with my novel. The End. read more

I'm not sure if I even remember the last time I posted a 1-star review but this Brandy Melville location definitely deserves 1 star. The clothes are cute, some things are cheap, others are a little overpriced. I piece a lot of their basics with clothing from other brands so it's nice to get a bundle of basic tops to mix and match with everything else. The layout of the store and cleanliness are fine, no complaints. Sometimes the fitting room situation can be confusing because there won't be anyone there to help so there have been times I just walk in and grab a room. But now, onto what REALLY gets me... the customer service at this location isn't great. Maybe once or twice I've had a good experience with one or two friendly girls who rung me up (thank you to those nice and rare girls) but other than that, come here at your own risk if you don't want to deal with rude teenagers with an attitude who probably have everything handed to them and work here as their first or second job. Sucks because when this location first opened the employees were incredibly nice and helpful and welcoming. Hours posted on their yelp page for 10-9pm for a Thursday - I walked in with my friend around 8:12pm and as soon as we open the door an employee folding a shirt looks at us and said "sorry we're closed." That's it. We barely stepped a foot inside. I would understand if maybe they actually close at 9 but need that last extra hour to themselves to tidy up the store to leave on time, but change your posted hours so people don't waste their time. Also, if you're closed, you can lock the door or post a sign. I've come here around that same time before and was allowed in, so I'm not sure what changed this time. Anyway, before I posted this review I actually sent an email to their customer service explaining the situation, asked them to speak to their supervisors, and requested a change in store hours or some sort of explanation. They said they'd get back to me TWICE, and never did. Pictures included of their responses. Don't expect great customer service, or any type of customer service from Brandy Melville. Cute clothes, but that's all they're good for. I get it, they're a large corporation so they don't have to care about their customers that much. Whatever I guess. read more
