Received great customer service yesterday as we shopped Zumiez in Sun Valley Mall. Walked in to a friendly greeting, and then my bf's boys and I were immediately directed to the part of the store we needed. I was shopping with them for Christmas gifts for their dad (and their mother too) so we spent the whole afternoon together which was great. Didn't have to waste much time in this store. Found exactly what we needed and we were told at the register it was buy one, get one half off, so we grabbed a second gift item for dad at half price. Love it. The girl at the register was really friendly too, and we received a warm 'thank you' as we left. Great holiday shopping experience. read more

I went in to this Zumiez a few days ago to check out what they had changed up since it's been a few years, and I was met with horrible customer service by Faith! It blew my mind considering she's a manager and should know better. I never allowed my associates or fellow shift lead/managers at my previous job talk the way she did. She was incredibly rude and it was the most aggressive a passive aggressive could get. The other workers seemed to be just as displeased with her behavior. Zumiez has always made me a bit nervous because workers are always up your rear, but to be up my rear and rude about it is insane. It's a shame you have people like her running the store. read more

Worst customer service in the WORLD! We were at this store on Monday evening. The 4 employees at the register were eating pretzels and had their hands all greasy and were touching merchandise while talking to each other. There was a line but they were busy eating the pretzels and couldn't tend to the customers. I threw all the merchandise that I was going to buy aside and walked out. I was very disappointed with this stores Online Store pick up. I ordered a backpack and had it for store pick up. The website said they had 3 in stock so I thought cool I'll pick it up tomorrow. The very next day I never got the email saying it was READY FOR PICK UP. So I drove down to the store and when I arrived they said "oh actually we don't have this backpack in stock" like what? Why would your website say it was and why didn't you guys ever let me know that they don't even have it? I had to drive to the store to find out. And the employee never even took the time to check if any other stores had one. I had to call another Zumiez store and they had it and even held the backpack for me. Out of 4 employees that I saw working there Sunday early afternoon, 2 were on their phones and couldn't be bothered, 1 was having a discussion with his gf, and the other was too busy flirting with customers in the store. The music was embarrassing to listen to, very very explicit lyrics. It was playing loudly in a public area where any child could walk into. Zumiez always has a good selection of sporty and streetwear style of clothing. A pair of Champion pants with tape side detailing I wanted was sold out on the Champion site and a few other sites, but Zumiez had them in stock online. I ordered a size small for a looser fit, but when I received them in the mail and tried it on, it was way too loose on me and the length of the pants was way too long. So I went to Zumiez to return these. I always feel bad when making returns because I used to work in retail so I know how it can affect the store for the day. I get that these are probably kids in high school or straight out of high school working here. I get it, I used to work at Sunvalley Mall in my late teens. Maybe I'm a bit old school, but the employees here now are very unprofessional. I came in to return shoes I purchased for my bf, because I found it for a lot cheaper online a few days later. The employees seemed too busy on their phones to be bothered to actually work and help me with my return. In fact they kind of hesitated and crying at the thought that my presence there meant they had to work! In the past, employees here used to greet me kindly and always ask if I needed help. It's a shame that jobs like this is supposed to teach younger generation responsibility and professionalism, but they don't care to appreciate the opportunity that comes with having a non manual labor intensive job that pays. read more

Please believe the hype... Customer service here is atrocitious!! My teen son purchased a ball cap with a logo/ phrase that I deemed unacceptable to wear, so we returned it... or at least we tried to??!! Nothing in their posted return policy (online or on the reciept) prepared me for this encounter... All tags still attached, obviously never worn, still in the original shopping bag, original receipt still in the bag, still within the acceptable 30-day return timeframe, etc. Nothing suspicious about any of it, but the girl/ mgr (named Taylor) seemed to instantly decide there was something sketchy about it. She asked farrr too many questions about the hat/ return, then demanded to PHYSICALLY HAVE my identification. I ask her why, and she only says they need "customer information." So I inform her that I would provide SOME necessary info if she would tell me why (like what they used it for). She just repeated that they need "customer information." I tell her I will not be providing my DRIVER'S LICENSE because there is sensitive, private, PERSONAL information contained therein (like my DOB, address, DL# which has already been stolen before), but I would provide my name & phone number. This silly girl LITERALLY repeated, now with an attitude, that they need "customer information" lol. I stand there wondering if I was confused one or if it was her confusion. Like can she hear me at all? Should I try sign language? Morse code on the counter top?? In this moment, I knew that our return was not going to happen today... this excuse for a manager (Taylor) was on a power-trip & determined to make this as difficult as possible. I was trying to hurry because people were behind me waiting to be helped, so I flat out tell her that what she's doing is illegal; I have the right to decline to provide CERTAIN personal information & my declination canNOT be the basis for refusing my return. PERIOD. But of course, she repeated that she needs "customer information" or she will not process our return, haha. Meanwhile, I don't even know what info I'm declining specifically, I just know that I'm not blindly handing over my DL. I bag it up & prepare to leave... but then I realize that she STILL hasn't explained what "customer information" includes!! So I step aside to allow the next person in line to start their transaction, and I proceed to ask her (now while recording on my phone) to please confirm their return policy so that when I contact corporate, I have accurate details. Betcha can't guess what she said??? Lol, yes, she says, "We need customer information, like I told you before." I attempt to get her to explain WHAT SPECIFIC info she needs, but she refuses to reply & instead tells me to LEAVE HER STORE, and omg, CALLS SECURITY, haha!! No lie, that just happened. What an abuse of mall security services; they are not intended for ignorant employees to flex their little, insecure muscles. Guess she was hoping I'd get dragged out of the store by my hair & publicly humiliated?! Haha, sad. I turn to a professional-looking male employee who had been listening nearby & ask if HE knew?? Oh, what do ya know, he calmly whittles it off like a pro: full name, address, phone number, photo ID, original receipt, & the same card used to make the purchase. Wow. Thanks, Anthony!! Thanks for nothing, Taylor!! Anthony should be the manager, gosh. Needless to say, THIS IS NOT STATED in their return policy as required by law. Corporate will be contacted & her disgustingly unprofessional behavior will be reported as well as their need to train employees on their legal responsibilities regarding personal information. In additon, my teen purchased the item *by himself* so if he had returned it *by himself*, how would be provide a PHYSICAL ID if he doesn't even have one??!! "Customer information" wasn't required to purchase, so why on a return WITH ORIGINAL RECEIPT?! I would understand if we had no receipt, but c'mon now. Extra: As usual, my first inclination that the store was run by an inexperienced, possibly incompetent, person was accurate: The line was at least 5 people/ families deep (super crowded since the store is the size of a large closet), and 4 or 5 employees visible in the store with ONE guy ringing up a customer & the mgr lady (Taylor) training him. Common sense would dictate that customers should be served BEFORE training resumes! It's not only inefficient, but also rude & tells customers that their time/ money is not valued. Someone needs to communicate with her the importance of customer service & perhaps it would help to understanding the simple, obvious concept of NOT training an employee when there's a long line. Train the employee when there is only one customer at the register & no one waiting in line. read more

I would never come to Zumiez on my own. My Son dragged me in here today so that he could buy new wheels and bearings for his skateboard. The Dude waiting on us did well by me son in terms of what he was looking for and providing a little technical support and advice. He also got a free doughnut out of the deal. I ordered a deck to be shipped from this store to my house 16 miles away. After a week of waiting for "employee delivery", which was not the delivery option I signed up for, I got in contact with customer service. They said the employee delivery was new and not working well( I can vouch lol) and offered to ship the order and give me a partial refund. Long story short, never received the order and never got the refund. Truly epic fail from a skate shop that lost the support of real skaters years ago. Received exceptional customer-service here, from start to finish. It may have been because I was their only customer at the time. But anyways I was explained whatever sale they had at the time and I was able to take advantage of a sweet deal. At checkout, the cashier wasn't cold. Everyone at this store is so helpful especially Daja! She is the sweetest human ever. Helped me find a new pair of jeans & a shirt for an event I was going to. Wasn't trying to oversell to me and I did not feel pressured by her to buy anything else. I ended up buying a few other small things she had pointed out to me anyway. Love love love her and her service! Will definitely be back! UPDATE: Went in a few days later and was helped by Joe & Kev. They were very informative on Vans shoes and sizes (switching from Converse I needed all the info I could get). Despite their high prices, this is one of my favorite stores in this mall. They have a lot of nice casual wear, footwear, and skateboarding accessories, I just recommend that you look around for deals and buy things as you see them (Things I want are usually gone the second time around). This place deserves more stars, but I can't give them to this spot, because it's hard for me to justify spending nearly $30 on a single tshirt. Awesome experience in here, was huge into skateboarding as a kid, and had the wild itch to get back into it. Went in today to look for sneakers for my daughter. They had some she liked, but had to really hunt around for the right size. Shannon was incredibly helpful and diligent. She was up and down on the ladder searching stock for us, and super friendly. I almost didn't buy the shoes because they were more than I was looking to spend. But, I have to admit, after all the time Shannon devoted to us, and her great attitude, I just went for it. I guess I just felt she earned it. Good shoes, comparable prices, and great service. I've read some of the other reviews, and I can honestly say that the negative ones were not my experience at all. This is the best Zumiez I've ever been to. I bought 3 Ripndip t-shirts here, and unlike other Zumiez stores, the employees don't follow you around, constantly asking if you need help. The lady that seemed like the manager was very kind and offered her assistance if I was looking for something specific. However, the cashier was very unprofessional. He started ringing me up and then decided he was going on his break, leaving an employee in training to finish the job. She had no idea what she was doing, but I let that slide because who leaves in the middle of ringing a customer up? I recommend this Zumiez to anyone who's tired of getting pestered at other Zumiez locations. I will definitely be coming back. read more
