Costco does not care about you. If you are disabled, sick, old, or fear that you may ,at any point, be unable to pick up your own groceries Costco is not the place for you. Tried to pick up groceries for my elderly sick mother and Costco employees told me she would have to be there herself. No guest pass no way of purchasing groceries and then having a named person pick them up for her. Just pay or leave. Very disappointing customer service experience today. The employee who checked me out, Laz B., never greeted me, made no eye contact, and did not ask if I needed anything else or if I would like anything from the food court. Throughout the transaction, he appeared more focused on talking with another employee who was assisting him than on helping the customer in front of him. There was no "thank you" or acknowledgment at the end of the transaction. I expect basic courtesy and professionalism when shopping, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short. I've been coming here a lot more and more than what I said to the lady when I first applied for membership years ago. I really love that there is a Costco close to me. This Costco has great selection of items and I always get what I need. The one con about going to Costco is everything is big. What I mean is if I need just a carton of milk it comes in a pack of three. But the price is right. Costco always has great holiday items. Costumer service is ok. I rarely need to ask for help. I had an appt. on 1/14/26 in the Tire dept. to have my tires rotated at no cost on my Toyota. Shortly after I received a call and told I had two stripped lug nuts and my car was unsafe to drive and recommended I have my truck towed to a mechanic. He also put white chock on my seized studs identifying them. Then drove to Les Schwab in Oakley they quoted $166 and $31 for my Costco tires to be rotated. At the end they only charged me $31 the lug nuts were fine they had no issues. Thank god Les Schwab knows what they are doing and didn't fix and charge me. I booked an appointment to have my tires replaced. When arrival, just park on the tire space for customers. The staff got my information and provided an estimate of 1 hour and 15 mins. My wife and I shopped around to kill time for a bit. When we were at the register, the lady scanned my membership and told us we are eligible for a 2% discount since we moved to Oakley. We just need to update our address at the membership counter. I was really surprised and didn't knew at all. After everything was done in about an hour, we waiting at the tire shop. One of the staff came and said the car was ready which was pretty quick than the estimated time. What I liked was how the staff done an amazing job explaining everything in detail. read more

Came here to return a single item. The lady at the desk helped someone who cut in line first and then left for 15 minutes while there was a lady who had her back turned and was sorting the returns and ignoring everyone in line. She ended up calling for people on the walkie to come to the desk but that was after all the people in line were literally ignored for 15 minutes... I am a fan of convenience and efficiency, and this reallllyyyyyy irritated me. Why are there not multiple people at the desk especially when a line is building up? Everyone in line looked really irritated and it was pretty unnecessary to wait that long especially when it was not that busy. read more

So as friends, family and Co-Workers (Yeah I am talking about you) will attest we have a obsession with Costco. So much so we have a set of Costco Rules we live by (after the review). This is your typical Costco and it flows in a clockwise direction from the entrance. You have your typical array of electronics and season items int he front and center and work you way back to the meat and freezer sections As I stated in my review of the the Mountain View location, we do have some rules to help keep our obsession under control: 1) NEVER EVER go in hungry. That 25 gallons of dill pickle chips is much easier to resist on a full stomach.... true story there. 2) Avoid the free samples. People seem to lose their minds with this stuff. They abandon carts with crying babies, block isles, etc all to get that tiny portion of hummus. I have been shoved aside by someone desperate to get a free piece of cheese. Honestly I have seen more dignity from actual starving people in a disaster zone but I digress. 3) Avoid the weekends like the plague. 4) See #1 5) Go often. Costco uses alot of psychology and the fear of missing out is one of them. Odd items you must have pop up then go never to return. I CAN'T MISS OUT AGGGGGGG 6) Know your codes: At costco any price ending in 0.97 means it has been marked down. Any price that is not a 0.99 or .97 such as say 0.49 means it has a manufacturers discount. and price with an * aka "The Death Star" on it means its done and will not be reordered so stock up. If it ends in a .00 or a 0.88 a manager has reduced the price at that location to clear it out. 7) When in an unfamiliar city head to the Costco. They always stock local items you can't find at yours (like two pounds of single origin Kona coffee for 30.00 at the Kilaua / Kona store etc.) and have cheap gas. (Same on Kauai) read more

It's Costco, what do people expect? When I had signed up, it was quick and easy! I guess only negative was the service on my phone so I had to get on their WiFi lol. Shopping there? The selection is crazy. Huge variety, bang for your buck if you're shopping for a family. Samples? Sheesh, I'll be back for thirds. Yes, there are insanely long lines at times, depending on when you go, but that is expected! The staff? They are all very helpful and they are everywhere, you can't not find one if you need assistance. Prices are good, lines up with today's value on things, but definitely a bit cheaper if you think about it. Clothes? SUPER cheap in price, but pretty good quality. Hungry after all that shopping and walking around? The food court is cheap too! $2 for a huge slice of pizza, or a few bucks for a chicken bake, or even $10 for a whole XL pizza; that's AMAZING. You can not beat that anywhere. Not only is it cheap, but the flavor is great, too! I really only come to COSTCO for the food. If you are short on money, or trying to get a quick bite, this is the spot. You don't need their membership in order to eat at their food court. COSTCO is well known for that hot dog value: $1.50 for a hot dog AND a drink! You could never beat that. Pizza is $1.99, and the slice is generous and delicious. I do have a membership I had been given, but I don't shop here because it's not worth it for me. In my opinion, COSTCO is great to buy in bundles. Perfect for families and numerous people for a long time. Since I live alone, I don't need to purchase these bundles, that are naturally more expensive But COSTCO is a winner, and it always stay busy. Another five star review! There's a reason people love Costco! We had a great experience today, from the door checkers, to the sample servers, to the cashier, to the food court server! The store was clean, the air was cool, and the variety of products is always second to none! I was provided a chip sample from a bubbly lady who was excitedly offering the samples and calling "Step up to my booth and have some chips today!" She was so cute, I had to try some! And they were delicious! Lauren was my food court server today, and she was lovely! A real people person! Despite being very busy, she took the time to provide full service, including offering onions for the hotdogs, offering a lid for the ice cream, and asking how my day was going! I have been an Executive Business member since Costco's inception and even when it first started over in Martinez over in CC county. Sooo a long time! Lately, I have been disappointed in Costco and trying to think of I can justify the 180.00 ( 120. Executive and 60. adding employees) which I just paid for membership renewal. The new bag of rice was filled with little white worms- eeeewww! And they accepted the return as I went right back, and they knew the rice as they had others return it too! So it was a problem they obviously knew about! I also saw one bag that had a corner gnawed on and open and when I looked to the side I see a bunch of mouse traps that were set off already!!!! Ewwwww! Now Costco is know for their good beef and the only one this Dr was saying that checks for Jakob Crutzfeld ( form of mad cow disease). I overheard 2 doctors talking about it- idk if it is really true but I only bought beef from Costco after that lol! I never had a problem until today and I like Costco's usually fresh meat. The ground beef they told us was freshly ground and just put out as we were waiting for it to come out. Date stated packed 11/16/23 but sell by date was 11/17/23 I noticed afterwards( one day after?). Every single package was red meat in the outside but the ground beef inside was a sickly brown! It looked like the old butcher truck of mixing the old meat with the fresh meat covering it in a very thin layer! I spent 120.00 plus in ground beef to pack away for the winter( I package it into smaller freezer bags for a big family). I took pictures for proof and called the Costco manager. First, I was told by the first person it is perfectly normal to be brown on the inside! I told her it browns due to oxygen gets to it and oxidizes which turns it brown. So if fresh why didn't the oxygen get to the outer layer and it was red but how did it get to the inner layer only? She was quiet and handed the call to the manager which said it was impossible because it is grounded and they are known for fresh meat! I said I thought so too since I was waiting for the packages that came out in front of me! Anyway, I have to take the 35 packages I formed out of 4 big back packs at 30.00 approx each ( just in case they did not return my money- not wasting it then) today and hours worth of work all back despite having pictures to show each package! Waste of my time on so many fronts and my money. And each of my grocery bills run from 300-500. each and I go 2-3 times a month( big family and main grocery store I go to)- so I am disappointed. And I'm disappointed by the manager like didn't believe it could happen like basically inferring I must be lying! And they could check my account I never returned any meat before and bought plenty! I did return the rice bag though with worms! So this is a warning for ALL Costco members to check their foods! I forgot to mention their corn also spoiled sometimes with mold on the ends of the cob which you can't see til you open it!!! And for some reason their milk seems to spoil quickly these days! COSTCO you have to do BETTER!!! Just lately noticing these problems-never before! Updated to add: Costco did refund my money at least. So good about that. I am a pretty big fan of Costco or well I thought I was. We have been looking into the Traeger's, a friend informed me that I should look into the Costco Events and buy at the Costco location that is holding the event because the Traeger 620 was $799. The event was at the Antioch Warehouse. I live in Vallejo; I work in Walnut Creek. I passed on two Costco locations (Concord and Vallejo) to visit this "event". I get there and the sign on the Traeger 620 now says $899. I end up paying $978.74 after tax. I return to my work in Walnut Creek and tell my friend Martin whom had made the recommendation to not only buy the Traeger but to also go to the sales event as the price was better. We happened to be ordering lunch for the Dealership I work for at Costco in Concord. Martin went to pick up our food. I had told him about the $100 price increase and he was a little shocked so he took the time to go look for them at the Concord location. What do you know, they are there for $799. These sort of price inconsistencies are unprofessional and cause your members to LOSE TRUST. I never thought I had to price shop Costco, let alone one Costco to the next. Shame on you!!! I cancelled my first order and had to go pick up the other one in Concord a complete waste of my morning. HIGHLY DISAPOINTED! TRANSPERANCY IN BUSINESS MAINTAINS YOUR CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND FOLLOWING. so I love our Costco in Antioch. It's only a few miles from my home. Totally convenient. Of course it's crazy busy all the time and all that but I usually shop there once a week. So I have three little doggies Chihuahuas that I feed like humans. I buy them the rotisserie chicken that they have there and they are a great bargain and they are very good. My only issue and this is why they lost a star for the whole store is the chickens are never cooked all the way. I can't debone the chicken all the way because sometimes it's pink and it scares me to feed that to my animals. Please cook your chickens longer.
