This review is for Rose, the cashier that helped me right now. She deserves all the 5 stars! I had this beautiful wall decor (which is 50% off right now) but the prices were different for the same exact items. One was marked $29.99 and the other was $34.99 granted the colors was slightly off, but it had the SAME item number and looked identical. (Just like a TikTok video I seen how this girl showed different prices were hidden behind the front ones which was more expensive). Anyways, I asked her if I could get the darker color for the same price as the lighter one which was $29.99 and Rose looked at the item number and called a manager, Tamara came over and she didnt even bother to check on the tablet for the current price of the item. She just said no. Then I pulled up the item on hobby lobby website and there it is, $29.99 half off is $14 so I went back to Rose and showed her. She called Tamara over again and explained to her. Then Tamara came over and told me she would do it for me this time because online prices are cheaper since it costs shipping and handling? I guess? But regardless it's 50% off right now and the online price matched the store price. It just seemed like Tamara didnt want to deal with me from the beginning. I went in to purchase a $100 gift card and wanted to pay with a $100 bill I literally just got from my Chase ATM. Three people could not use their method to verify it. First the cashier, then a Code 1 manager and finally a second manager. I left the card and went back to Chase and exchanged it for 5 20's. The reason for this review is feeling both embarrassed, but also like I was guilty of trying to use a fake bill, especially by the blond second manager. I went back and told them my money was fine and they should check their verification system. I did reluctantly purchase the card since it was on my wife's Christmas list. Absolutely despicable behavior from their main manager Roberto and his associate Liz. As someone who makes crafts I spend lots of time scrutinizing small details, which is what I was doing at the lone tree location today while looking over their clay options. Apparently a "normal person doesn't look at clay that long" and that's grounds for following a previous paying customer of their store around aisle to isle and then demanding said customer to empty their pockets when confronted for following customers around the store on suspicion of theft. I will never give this company another penny and will highly encourage anyone I encounter to do the same. Michaels may not have everything you want but they'll price match this vile store, give them a visit next time instead of hobby lobby. TLDR: Good selection, inefficient and slow service Like any Hobby Lobby, this location is clean, well-stocked, and well-organized. I like that I never need help finding anything. The layout is very intuitive and easy to navigate. I've gone to this particular location for a variety of items (apparel craft, paint, gifts) and they are always available for a competitive price. My problem is with their check-out process. Without exaggeration, I've never spent less than 15-20 minutes waiting to be checked out. There is ALWAYS a problem. Someone is making a lengthy return that requires a manager, a cashier makes a mistake that, again, requires a manager to fix, or the cashiers are just plain slow. It makes me wonder, why don't they train their cashiers to fix their own mistakes and handle returns? Why isn't the manager checking people out when the line gets long? It certainly makes me ask: Why, God, why am I always waiting way too long to check out of this Hobby Lobby? I read other reviews about this location and it seems other people have taken issue with their slow service. Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed it. read more

I love hobby lobby BUT I hate their system and the layout of their store. Lines are alwaaaays long here and sometimes they'll have one or two registers open with 10 people in line. It just doesn't make sense. It's also weird how they have registers on both sides but only one side will be open. Its also frustrating how the cashiers have to input every price of an item. And then they also have to check or know when there's a sale on the items... it's just weird and very old school. They have a scanner to scan the coupons but not to scan the item? I will say that they do have a ton of items but it can be very hard to find something since the store is SO big. It's also hard to spot an employee for help. Just be prepared to be in there for awhile! read more

My daughter and I were shopping in the store snd turned a corner and it was we near closing and one of the male Employees stared me down with the rudest look on his face and I wondered why then with no announcement the lights shut off so I felt bad like oh we are in here past closing but then an announcement cwm on there closing in 3 mins and I was shocked they would shut off the lights on customers before closing. Overall, I do like Hobby Lobby. It is a nice place and has good products. However, the thing that bothers me is the fact they do not accept Apple Pay. I do not understand it at all. When I searched it up online it stated they do not use payment methods used by large retailers, however, I have been to many small businesses who take Apple Pay, so I still do not get why they can't do this. Additionally, when I was asking to use Apple Pay at the counter, the cashier rudely says: "You don't have any other money?" Excuse me? What kind of question is that? I normally use Apple Pay wherever I go and never bring my wallet anywhere, so I was lucky when I just happened to have my wallet with me that day. But still, I do like and appreciate the company, I just hope they include this payment feature at some point in the near future. read more

This place is fantastic! I can't believe how huge this location is and how clean they keep it organized. There is everything here as far as the cargoes for houses cabins vacation rentals etc. you could really spend a lot of time and get some really cool Decour for your house at this location. Besides all of the obvious great things about this place... They have a semi-hidden gem in the back where they do custom frame work. I decided to bring in a Disney print that I had signed and had bought with no framing. It is a drawing of a monorail and signed by the inventor. I decided to see how good they were and have them custom frame it for me. The people there are super nice and their workstation is incredibly clean and professional. It's all carpeted so when you lay stuff down it's a nice carpeted area as to not scratch or ruin any of your prints, posters or personal work you want done. I found that incredibly cool and unique. I was treated very professionally and they nice lady listened and also suggested ideas. Another awesome feature is that they are able to show you what your work will look like when completed by this cool computer software they have and are able to show you on the screen right there. Really impressive and amazing. What was also great, were the prices. For the great work I had done, I wanted top of the line framing so paid more than normal for upgraded glass, etc. They give you a lot of more price conscious options as well so I was, yet again very impressed. My framing was done in a bout a week and when I picked it up, I was more than happy with the results! Amazing work! The cleanest store I've ever been in! OCD on steroids! Down every row on every display there's perfection! Nothing is out of place! Every flower, frame or craft item is neatly displayed. Not one item was crocked or out of place! This is the place OCD peeps dream about! They have a large selection of just about everything you need for the holidays. There's lamps, frames, decorative items and unique pieces of furniture. I was on the hunt for peacock feathers for our elite party on Saturday. They have so many different styles, shapes and colors to chose from. I think my derby hat turned out pretty good (see pic) attached. My only compliant is waiting in line. Hobby Lobby is a store you can stroll through and get inspired. Love the fact I can pretty much get any craft, sewing, framing, or decorating option here for a great price! And if it's not on sale, go online with your phone and there's always a 40%off one item coupon up that you can use at the register, they'll just scan your phone! The staff here have always been friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to show me something across the store! The only thing I don't like is there antiquated sales system which is all hand entered. It just takes forever. Other than that you can find some cool things here. read more

I've shopped in this store since they opened and I've LOVED every visit and drive past Michael's to get there. Joanne fabric and craft is 5 minutes from my house but i drive 15 minutes to get to Hobby Lobby. Until today. The previous store manager was such a delight and the staff all clearly liked her. She was always so sweet, kind, happy and helpful. The current one not so much. The employees almost cower when they have to ask her anything and so do I. Her wretched rude attitude is unacceptable. I'm floored she's still employed. I'll never go back. She didn't like my face covering today. Mine was a simple classic one but not good enough for her so she yelled at me from about 2 car lengths away with her hands up like i was coming at her with a loaded gun. A face covering is a face covering and she has NO right to shame anyone because she doesn't like their mask. I didn't shame her for publicly yelling and shaking her fingers at me like she did. It's the same mask I've worn since they became a requirement (actually I have 10 of them so they don't get gross). I've been in 7 airports in the last week in 4 states and had not one problem. I stopped in Hobby Lobby today. While I was there I found some yarn I liked so I put that in my cart. I noticed one of the yarns had a clearance sticker on it. Which was strange because the other 5 yarns didn't have a clearance sticker on it and it was the exact same color, same name and brand. So at the register I asked the cashier why should I have to pay full price for 5 yarns and one on clearance when they are exactly the same. They should have all been clearance out. It didn't make any sense. So I decided not to get that yarn. The girl in the yarn dept was rude. I don't think she even knew really how to answer the question. Sometimes they have what I'm looking for, sometimes they don't. It's really hit or miss. In the home decorating department, they have just about every kitschy thing you could ever hope for. They have a medium sized sewing department. A lot of thread & accent items, a very basic selection of fabric. I'm usually here looking for painting or crafting supplies. Their paint section is pretty extensive. I have always located what I needed, whether it be acrylics, brushes, tools, sponges, canvases or mediums. The scrapbooking department is plentiful in the basic areas: paper, stickers, pens, etc. They do not carry any of the smaller, more unique lines. My biggest complaint with this place is their check out process. The lines are chaotic & confusing. The cashiers have to type in the price of each item & memorize all of the sales. I didn't know this until my 3rd or 4th visit and I know I was charged full price for sale items in the past. Keep your eyes open for sales and make sure the cashier applies them. They have a chart at their register, if they question you. I'm not sure why they are using this kind of a system in 2013? read more

Why hello you magnificent store! This place is huge! Go when you have a few hours to browse and without kids (if you have them). Not because it's not a store for them, but because you will be there for hours and they will want room in the cart for your purchase. hehe My first visit was with my hubby and son. Hubby thought the store was going to be more model trains and stuff.... haha silly man. I came back by myself a week or two later. Walked around for over an hour and picked up a bunch of stuff. Found a really cute frame for my business. Lots of items are 30% their every day price. Now the 40% discount isn't added to that. They take 40% off the regular price. I am...no I WAS a faithful Hobby Lobby customer. I've found a lot of my home and work projects there, but today was my last day stepping foot in this store. My family moved into our home in January. I bought things to go on the wall, and literally just got the time to actually put them up, due to my busy schedule. I went to pull out my spoon and fork for the kitchen, and the spoon was broken. Had I known it would easily break without being messed with or roughed, I would've left it on the shelf. Of course, I was upset because I was excited to use it. I looked at the receipt to see the return policy. There was nothing there stating damaged items can't be returned, and I had 90 days to return items, therefore I decided to take them both back, knowing that I wouldn't be able to use them. When I took it back today I was told that I couldn't return broken items. After asking why not (since there's nothing that states that), there was no direct answer from the manager (Angel G), only "The manager can decide to take it back or not." She then asked more than one time, if I bought it that way (that was when I felt like she was trying to be funny). I asked her who would buy a broken item, and had it been broken I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. She said that I could return the fork, but she wouldn't take the spoon, then walked off. I proceeded to ask for a number to call to get an understanding of the policy stated to me, as well as the name of the manager who "helped" me. The cashier gave me a first name and last name initial so I asked for the full last name. She said she didn't know it so I asked her to call the lady and ask her her full name. Angel G. wouldn't give it to her and told her to tell me to call back the next day. That response was very childish and uncalled for because any manager who knowingly did their best to help a customer wouldn't care about giving out their full name. Angel was snobby and really unprofessional when she wouldn't give the cashier her last name for me. It showed that she was really childish, and the cashier seemed embarrassed due to her actions. I expect to be treated with dignity, no matter where I go, not some little kid who doesn't understand anything. Luckily, I felt some kind of kindness from the cashier and the other lady helping her, or else I would've went off. I say all of this to simply say, customer service is something that drives a business, and clearly for this store, you should choose your managers more carefully. Thank you to my cashier, Danielle, for being patient even though she knew I was frustrated. She's the reason you received a star. I visited the location at 5849 Lone Tree Way, Antioch CA (#542) & was disappointed with my interaction with Jay. I was purchasing a picture frame that was in discounted ($9.59) area along with a few more of the exact ones. The cashier didn't scan item, instead punched in the price of $35. I told her they were on sale & she said she knew & was putting the discount in for a total of $20+. I told her they were on a clearance area & she called for help. Jay came to help & said he would go check the price. I told him where they were & offered to show him but he took off with no answer to me. I found him in the wrong area. I asked him to follow me so I could show him. He looked at them & said "These are in the wrong area & not on clearance ". He looked at me as if he was questioning my integrity & left without saying anything else. I felt as if he was saying I lied. I purchased another frame & left. I found his behavior disrespectful and demeaning. I asked cashier for his name and she said he was the store manager. As someone who has managed many branches, I did not understand his behavior.
