I have been a loyal customer to this particular Hobby Lobby since they opened and let me tell you, it is NOT as it used to be. I would always enjoy shopping until these past two weeks. I returned some items and was looking to do a price adjustment and some things and the customer service manager Sarah (or Sara, can't remember the spelling; but you guys get the picture) let me know that we cannot do price adjustments without the items in hands and can only do it within 7 days. Everything was cool, although the employee Stefany C looked a lil scared next to her (Weird!). I went back to hobby lobby today, bought more stuff AND I still had my stuff from Thursday in my car so I took it to get it adjusted because I saw the items went down to 90%. I was waiting in the return line and the same cashier that helped me last time Stefany C. asked if I had a purchase or return I told her "I have an adjustment and a return plus a purchase" Stefany C. said "Ugggh okay" as she was walking away. What a way to give customer service right? So I get to the register and the lovely cashier calls a manager to help with the adjustment, she was helping me but SARAH decides to butt in and say they do not price adjust on holiday, seasonal items or red tags. And she said it so rudely I was like okay and the other manager just looked at her and walked away. My issue is that online I see price adjustment and return policy's but no where on the receipt or store. Soo who is telling the truth?! Sarah needs to get it together because it is not the first time customers have an issue with her. I would rather drive to Concord. read more

I'm an avid model builder. I'm an admin on.a FB model building group. That being said. 1800 people heard about the "manager" who degrades her customers. I lost my ATM card so I wrote a check. This woman scrutinized me through and through. Looking me up and down. I felt like I was on trial. I let it go. Fast forward 1 week later. Same manager decided to take interest in a return. (Model is wrong) same demeanor.. the person at the register had processed the return and was about to pay out my money. Super management Wonder Woman decided to do it again. Nope! I stood up to her onslaught. Yelling at me in front of customers?! Really? So I went back 2 days later and got my money. Point is, I've been spending thousands of dollars over several years at this store, and for what? Just to keep a hobby store near me. Hobby stores are dying. They should value their customers instead of castigating them in front of other shoppers. She was so bad, I'm calling corporate, the BBB and department of consumer affairs. Nobody treats me that way. Especially a power happy little girl. I'm 48 years old and I just don't have the time or care about your identity crisis. Manager of hobby lobby is like being manager at McDonald's. How this place does not have a better yelp rating is beyond me. It has everything. Wait it's August and they have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and I even saw July 4th old decorations up already and still. Aisle after aisle of anything you can imagine to decorate your house or make your own decorations for your house. Most items I saw were on sale. How can you ever say your board with an entire store called Hobby?! Make your own blanket, pillow or window coverings. Have an old dress or baseball you love form child hood or a sports star frame it they have all kinds of assorted frames for that. Models to build, molding clay, dolls to paint and dress up, sticker heaven seriously what don't they have. The best part was I've never been into a retail store that was that clean I mean the floors shining, every shelf had items that were full and pulled to the end of the shelf. If you take an item off the shelf you are compelled to put it back because it's like a functional museum. Going back we were greeted when we walked in and the staff was friendly and helpful. I'm torn on this but there was no music that I can remember and well ok you know what I'm ok with that so I liked it. Clean, tidy, and the employees are friendly, too! Really a fantastic store with arts and crafts, decorations (their seasonal selections are huge), and even some furniture. A lot of the stores decorum and furniture is budget quality and you should make sure its sturdy enough for your use case. read more

This is a very fun place to shop. I never went to hobby lobby in the past because I thought it was just like Joann. This is much more than that its easy to waste to much time in there because of so many cute things. This place is similar to a lower price point Michael's. They have lots of discounts but their store layout can be confusing and their stuff can be hard to find. For example, they have some picture and picture frames towards the front of the store, but if you want the bigger size, it's towards the back. One suggestion is their staff should smile more and when they ask "can I help you" it can be a bit intimating because I felt as if they were saying that to a potential thief.. read more

I've been in this store two times.. both times the costumer service was awful! The first time I went in, the cashier was not friendly at all and she charged me $49.95 for 5 bandanas that were clearly marked .99 cents. The second time I went in and asked the cashier to please make sure I was charged correctly. I got a very dirty look and an attitude. I was, " if you were charged incorrectly, then your total would be a lot more!" The store is clean, well organized, but customer service is NOT a priority. Won't be back. This place has to be one of the most unfriendly rude places I've ever shopped at. The prices aren't that great...it may say 50% off but 50% to this business is normal prices for similar items at other businesses. I shop there frequently because of the need for items, believe me if there was another place closer by to shop & get the same items I would. I went in there the other day & was looking for a few specific items in the fabric department. There were 3 associates in that department. One was at the cutting counter the other 2 were cleaning up the department & whatnot. I wandered around that department for at least 15 minutes without any of the 3 of them even bothering to look up or ask me if they could help me. When it finally asked I felt as if I was bothering her at her job. Then when I asked about return policy she rudely told me to ask the people at the front. I'm sorry but I feel like you should know the return policy at your own place of business. I stopped asking where items were because no matter what the item was or who I asked the answer is always, "oh that's in the craft department"...,umm excuse me I'm sorry isn't this a craft store?!?!! Isn't the entire store a craft department?!?!!!!! God forbid they take you to where the actual item is or help you find what you're looking for. Every single person in there that I have ever come in contact with is rude & condescending & act like they are better than you. I've worked in retail for over 10 years & this is by far the WORST customer service I have ever experienced & they are consistent with it. Not to mention the checkout process is slower than ever!!! They input each item one by one by one. We have computers & technology for a reason & it is not utilized by this place of business. It's so frustrating sitting there while they input each price & item by hand. When I shop I expect a friendly, quick, painless experience, I do not get that from this place of business & if I could go somewhere else to get the items I need I would. I'n comparison to Michaels hands down Hobby Lobby has a huge variety of house hold items, household decor, arts and crafts, flowers, baskets, picture frames etc to choose from. My last visit to Hobby Lobby was a pleasant one, customer service was excellent and finding a staff member to assist me if I had a question was not hard. However I can't help but feel like I'm crossing enemy lines when I shop there as the owner of Hobby Lobby has made it clear than he is anti-abortion and I am pro choice. It sucks that they are closed on Sundays too don't get me wrong I attend Church on Sunday as well maybe compromise an open half day at 1 or something lol It's also more expensive than Michaels in my opinion BUT you do get what you pay for and again I stand by my previous thought which is that Hobby Lobby's inventory far exceeds Michaels. This review is based solely on all of their home decor items. So, if anyone knows me, they know that I am an absolute home decor fanatic and may even be considered a bit a snob when it comes to such things. Just like some girl has an obsession with shoes, I have an obsession with home decor good's. That is, quality, nice, home decor goods...something this store is certainly lacking. After hearing several of my friends and family RAVE about this place, I figured it was worth checking out. Hobby Lobby has since taken over what used to be the now ancient " Mervyns" . Which means, the store is HUGE! Supplying enough space to cramp it with tons of junk. Which seems to be most of what is filling up the current space. Now apparently its a great place if your really into crafts and things. Like actually making stuff on your own : ) However, my review is based solely on the large section of home decor items they have for sale presented within the mid section of the store. As well as a majority of their Halloween decor. Most of the home decor items appear to be extremely cheaply made at pretty reasonable prices, however, they are those items that probably wont last very long. Some of the candle holders and mirrors to be hung on walls, seemed to have been made of a Styrofoam type material, very unstable and flimsy. Now, it may be great if you have a "Craft Hobby" but if your looking for decent, quality, home decor items, you will probably be better off at Kirklands a few doors down with comparable prices. Overall, place is huge! Has just about everything your looking for that pertains to crafts, decor and holiday goods, however, seems to be lacking in quality. Hobby Lobby is seriously my favorite store ever! I am from the midwest and Hobby Lobby is huge out there. I was so sad when I moved to Brentwood because the closest Hobby Lobby was out in Stockton! I can't even describe how excited I am that this just opened up 5 minutes down the street from where I live! I would recommend this store to EVERYONE! The prices, in my opinion, are VERY reasonable. Most of the time they have a lot of their stuff 40-50% off already decent prices. If you happen to come by an item that is full priced you can always use a 40% off coupon. They are always online, but they also have a Hobby Lobby app for your phone that has a coupons section. Will be going back (probably more then I should lol)! read more

I visited Hobby Lobby for the very first time yesterday. OMG! Amazing!!! 1. Very well organized! My 11 year old son described it as "a clean version of Home Goods/Michaels/Joann Fabrics combined" 2. Home Decor!!! Several aisles of cute (not tacky) home decor! 3. Christmas! They were already stocked with Thanksgiving and Christmas items 4. Crafters Dream! They have so many options compared to other crafting stores. Even my kids found something they liked! 5. Fabric galore! Lots more different styles than Joanns! Cons: 1. Prices. Well the prices are a bit more expensive than Michaels, but a lot of items are on sale, and you can find a weekly 40% off coupon online for regular priced items. Plus-- you will find more variety here compared to Michaels. 2. Closed on Sundays. So far- the pros outweigh the cons, so I will definitely be coming back! read more

Tonight I asked a lady who was putting the returns away if I could grab one of the blue handheld shopping baskets because I was carrying more than I had expected.....well, she never looked at me, took the 2 items out of the basket and walked the other way...really? Not a word was said to me, no hi...NOTHING When I got to the checkout I was fuming and mentioned what had happened to the manager on duty...all he said was, oh, I'm sorry about that. The store is clean and for the most part easy to find merchandise. All most everything they have is made in China and as a general rule I can find better quality items elsewhere. I have a very busy schedule but try to leave Sunday afternoons to do those things I don't normally have time for. Since Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays, that limits when I can go to thier stores, Strike 1. Politically I don't agree with the owner, so strike two, strike 3 the one time I went there, the lines were long, the employees looked frazzled and I just could see why they did not have more employees to work the registers. Again I got suckered into hype and went somewhere because " I had too".. lol I am not a crafty person so when people kept trying to get me to go in I was like " NO"... I was wrong about this store it is not just a glorified " Michaels". When you first walk in though I am not too impressed. I almost got the "dollar tree" vibe.Not sure if is the way they promote certain items when you first walk in or what but I think they need to display some nicer items in their entry area. I noticed another Yelper here mentioned that they love home decor and was not impressed. I have to agree. I kind of felt like a snob when I first thought it but glad someone else noticed it. They have A LOT of interesting items for the home. You can certainly find something for your home or a gift BUT many of these items are over priced for how they are made. If I want a wood looking item and can't afford wood then the knock of version should be cheaper. They seem to charge prices that would match if the item were made better. I think people in college, their first home etc would love some of these items but they do need to lower the prices if the quality isn't there. One reason I rated them higher is I like their standards. Things like being closed on Sunday etc. I think society needs to get back to such simple things. I also like all the Christian related items they have in their store. I agree with others, this is a store you go into when you have time and no little ones with you ( unless you know exactly what you want) it is overwhelming for the first time shopper! read more

Came here the other day looking for Bandanas lol I was panicking because I had a concert the same night to go to so I called this place last minute to see if they had Bandanas...and low and behold they did! I don't find that the staff here at this hobby lobby are very helpful.. sadly! They're extremely strict with returns and exchanges. And when I was purchasing an item for 119.00 regular price, the gal at the register was already ringing it up full price and telling me my total without giving me a chance to pull out my 40 percent off coupon. Negative stars If I can, Last hobby lobby I would ever go to, the gm there is an absolute joke, rude, weird, and unprofessional. My family and I go there twice a week + around 12-1 and waste a lot of money there. The employees are great, the assistant manager is great, but the general manager is weird. She followed my brother through out the store thinking he was gonna steal something, she made him feel unsafe, then we go to the register to return and pay for their items and she goes to my brother and says to show her the charms he got. My mom said "why" and she says "because I saw her grab something, and If you're not gonna buy it, then im going to put it back" we're at the register for a damn reason! i'm not sure if it's because of her age maybe she's blind but she couldn't see that the charms were in the cart and nothing was being stolen. We thought she was an employee but no she was the gm. Honestly, I'm not mad, just weirded out that she was so quick to think my brother stole something, anyone would look at the cart first to see if that charms were there. Jorel in the framing department was the best when helping me figure out what to do with my incredibly colorful paintings! I came in without a clue in the world about what I wanted, and walked out over the moon with the knowledge that one of my paintings will be very well-taken care of here. He knew what he was talking about, and I learned so much more about the framing process because of his patience with explaining everything. I really appreciate how genuine and down-to-earth he was. He spared no expense at pulling out choices to test them through the computer, devoting time to each one to study it from afar, and then gave sound reasoning for what made certain frames work better than others. The humility and gentleness in his opinions (which I had asked him for) really helped make my tough decisions that much easier. It was a breath of fresh air to be helped by such a pleasant person. From my vantage point, he seemed to be the friendliest employee there. Thank you so much, Jorel! The store also seemed very clean and organized both days I found myself here, which was unusually impressive to encounter. When it first opened, it was wonderful. Very well stocked and homey - and super close to home. They carried better quality items than Michael's and I shopped here often. After spending obscene amounts of money here religiously, I took a break. Fast forward about four years - do not shop at this location if you are not white. They harass you by following you around the store and treat you like a thief because you're not the right color. Extremely rude middle management. Based on my last encounter I will not be shopping at this location nor any other hobby location in the future. Bought an item that was damaged, but didn't notice until I got it home. Upon trying to return, the manager accused me of damaging the item and ordered a full inspection of the item by the dept in which it was purchased. I was in Hobby Lobby this morning and I have to say they have the nastiest cashiers and floor managers. Cashier did not greet you or smile. I stated that the employees do not look happy. Cashier on the other side was giving a customer a hard time who was returning merchandise with a RECEIPT. Hobby Lobby prides themselves on being a Christian based organization how're their employees don't display Christian behavior. There aren't many Hobby Lobby stores around but there are Michael's stores in most cities. I was at Michael's shopping for T-shirts as I like the plain ones. Well so Michael's had orange T-shirts in slightly the wrong color, instead of a wearable orange it was a color called "Safety Orange" which looked silly. For green, Michael's had a "lime green", which looked silly and the nice-looking green, called "Irish Green", Michael's only had in a women's shirt which had a weird shape that men couldn't wear. The names of the colors are standard and Hobby Lobby also had the same colors in the same names. Okay so I then checked the Michael's website and Michael's didn't have anything different. I checked various stores websites and online shopping places and didn't see it. Then I searched Hobby Lobby for "Irish green" and they had it. And strangely they said in stock in the store. So the next time I was in Antioch (I drive by there sometimes but don't live there), I stopped at the Hobby Lobby (after forgetting else being too busy several times) and the store had everything I wanted in stock. Then I went to check out and everything was discounted for some reason to $2 instead of $3 as marked. The store is very fancy, very clean, and many times larger than a Michael's. Hobby Lobby also has huge aisles so everything is a lot more spread out. It's sort of a cross between Michael's and the "Cost Plus World Market". At checkout I like that they say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays. The store plays music and I am generally annoyed by music in stores. It's usually really bad music. The music this store plays is some kind of instrumental stuff which is a lot less annoying than the typical pop music stores blare. The store also has a bunch of employees all around doing things so it's easy to find them for asking them things. Usually most stores of all type keep themselves very understaffed. read more

On 06/26/2022 I visited the Hobby Lobby located in Antioch. I never been to a Hobby Lobby before but a friend strongly recommended Hobby Lobby. Upon arrival the store looked nice and clean. I immediately noticed to my left several employees congregating near a cash register. No one acknowledged or greeted me or the multiple customers that were entering or exiting the store at the time. As I was heading down the store to locate the jewelry crafting aisle, I came across some cool foldable metal indoor/outdoor tier stands. I was in the aisle for about 5 minutes before I was able to flag down an employee. She was kind but didn't know much about the product and it didn't help that the product was brandless (simply referred to as furniture) with no further details offered by Hobby Lobby or the manufacture. I ultimately spent another 15 minutes shifting through the stands trying to pick the least damaged before settling on two. As I was doing a final review, I noticed a tall approx. 5'7 slender middle-aged, brunette, woman of no color in my right peripheral speed walking down the aisle. I immediately turned to my left to see what was it that she was rushing to and then a short approx. 5'4 average build brunette, mid-20s to early-30s woman was standing at the end of the aisle as if to block the pathway. I was totally confused and thrown off. When I turned back the tall women of no color was about 3 feet away neither woman was wearing a mask but was less than six feet from me on both my right and left. The tall woman in an abrasive tone asked, Can I help you with anything? But her body language and tone were indicative that her inquiry was not genuine but rather inferring I was doing something wrong. Overall, the aggressive, prejudicial behavior of the women coupled by the lack of customer service is sufficient to make this the first and last time I patronize Hobby Lobby. read more

This store has a very strong chemical smell. I would venture to guess from the chemicals that all the items they have emit. The smell is certainly headache inducing. This was my second visit, I didn't comment the first time because the store had just opened and I thought things would improve. I gave them one star for the amount of stuff, although all seems overpriced and they only carry their own brand of yarn which is also way overpriced for the skein size. Absolutely so excited to be able to go to a Hobby Lobby for the first time ever. I have received such amazing gifts in the past from friends who have a store near them and finally today I was able to go myself. It definitely ROCKS!!! Amazing supply of pretty much everything. Was able to buy a black chandelier for my kids room that is being done in the Eiffel Tower theme and also some other great decorations for their room! They also have some great stuff for weddings... Will definitely be back again. And again... and again... and again.... did I say again? :) read more
