This time, I was just tagging along and didn't have anything on my shopping list, but my wife did. While she was looking for the shoes she wanted, or thought she wanted, I started browsing the men's section. I was impressed by the size of their selection. It's larger than at a couple of other DSW locations I've visited, with a good variety of dress and athletic shoes. Although tempted, I had already spent enough on shoes this month, so I passed! My wife found a nice-looking pair of brownish summer shoes that she loved, so that was it. So I did. So glad I did! She again, took the time to call each of the stores that had the last pairs (2 pairs) to make sure they were available. Imputed me in the system. Gave me "free" shipping. And was so professional, kind, and curious, I was very impressed. This was on one of the busiest days (Mother's Day) and store was full of customers. I looked around and loved their selection of shoes. I'll definitely be back to shop there next time I'm in the market for some new shoes. Thank you Bri. And thank you Footwear etc.

The right shoes--and the right guidance--can make all the difference…read more I returned to Road Runner Sports after my Nike Pegasus 42s started feeling unstable, almost like my ankle was rolling and the cushioning was off. Thanks to the VIP program, I was able to exchange them within the 90-day return window and work with Travis again. Travis is knowledgeable, patient, and great at explaining how each shoe moves and supports your foot. Based on his demonstration, I switched to the Brooks Glycerin Flex, and I'm glad I did. During a run, I stepped into a hole in the pavement, and I truly believe the stability of the shoe helped keep the injury from being much worse. Road Runner Sports is an excellent resource for runners and athletes because the staff considers your stride, foot strike, comfort, and activity level--not just the shoe's appearance. The prices are comparable to other retailers, but here you also receive expert guidance and the added protection of the VIP return policy. Congratulations to Travis and his future bride on their upcoming Halloween wedding! I definitely recommend this location.

Important: This review is specifically about Road Runner Sports' online sales and customer service…read moreexperience, not their retail stores. I'm a VIP member of Road Runner Sports, so this experience was particularly disappointing. I placed an online order in early August for a pair of shoes that were on backorder, with an expected shipping date around mid-August. From then on, the expected shipping date kept getting pushed back week after week. Each time I followed up, I was reassured that the next expected date would be honored and that my order would be prioritized once the shoes became available. Based on those assurances, I decided not to purchase the shoes elsewhere. Unfortunately, these shoes are in high demand, and by the time I found out Road Runner Sports could not fulfill my order, they were no longer available elsewhere either. Today was the latest date I had been told to expect the shoes. When they didn't arrive, I contacted customer service, only to be told that the shoes were out of stock and that my order would simply be cancelled. To be clear, my frustration is not about the cancellation itself. I understand that inventory issues happen. My frustration is with the repeated delays and assurances that led me to believe my order would eventually be fulfilled. Had I been given accurate information earlier, I could have made other arrangements and purchased the shoes elsewhere. What made the situation even more frustrating was that customer service was of very little help, and despite specifically asking to speak with a customer service manager, I was not given the opportunity to speak with one. As a VIP member and loyal customer, I expected better communication and ownership of the issue. I would have much rather been told upfront that the order could not be fulfilled than be given repeated expected dates and assurances, only to end up with a cancelled order and no shoes after waiting for more than a month. I hope Road Runner Sports takes a closer look at how it handles backordered online purchases and customer-service escalations. This experience has left me very disappointed with the online sales operation, even though this review is not a reflection of their retail stores or in-store staff.

About 10 minutes later she came out of the back with a Nike in her hand and she saw me and said she'd go back and get the shoe. Okay, but why. I got the shoes. I went to the register and had already realized the $10 price difference in the shoes online retailer Uggs.com, and Macy's which were $10 less then Footlocker. Since it's the Holiday season and I was in a hurry I didn't want to walk all the way through the mall to Macy's. I figured Footlocker would be competitively priced, nope. Also, at the register I asked if they price matched and the person checking me out was polite and said they'd have to get a manager to find out. I didn't want to cause a scene as being a troubling customer so I told them to disregard that. I believe it could have been possibe for this Footlocker to get five stars. She asked her manager about the return, but unfortunately, the manager was very blunt and came across as rude when explaining that because it was Labor Day weekend, they were not accepting returns for red tags. I understand that stores have policies, but not allowing a return or even an exchange on an item purchased just two days earlier because of a holiday-weekend policy doesn't make much sense to me. I used to love this store until finding out that their assistant manager at Sunvalley mall has been trying to get people fired. She found out employees called HR on her and now she's lying to upper management so she can fire the people who called on her. I thought HR is suppose to HELP workers and STOP workers who are bullies! Not this HR. They can easily check cameras and call this manager out but they won't! Now wonderful employees are being set up and they may possibly lose their jobs! Shame on you Vans for allowing your managers to bully and for making the environment toxic! Mel does not belong! I was immediately drawn to the beautiful displays of stationary and gifts right when we walked into the store. I loved that store and this place brought back many good memories of shopping there. Everything was so orderly and displayed so beautifully. The staff were exceptionally personable and friendly. How much does a tissue paper cost?…read more Today I took my 83 year old mother out shopping to buy a baby shower stuffed animal. Her total purchase was $31. (2 stuffed animals purchased separately) I also purchased 3 baby books totaling $31. My mother asked for one of the stuffed animals to be wrapped in tissue paper to stay clean, and the woman who assisted her was very friendly and very accommodating to her disabled condition. However, the manager, D.Green, who checked us out at the register was reluctant to give us one more piece of tissue paper for the second stuffed animal when my mother asked for it - because it did not make the $20 minimum purchase gift wrap requirement. My mother did not ask for it to be gift wrapped. She asked for a piece of tissue paper, just so the fuzzy animal stayed clean. When the manager told my mother the purchase did not qualify for a piece of tissue paper, I spoke up and said I just bought $31 of books, does that qualify? She replied, 'no, that's on a different receipt' We left without the piece of tissue paper. I called the Store, and coincidently the Manager is who checked us out. I spoke to her because my mother was very upset and is a local resident. I do not live in the area. The manager stated she was following the policy. McCaulou's on Clayton Road just lost a local customer over a 5 cent piece of tissue paper! As a Manager myself I would never argue with a customer over a piece of tissue paper. The woman who wrapped the first gift was great, the Manager, however, needs customer service training as we were not rude or inconsiderate at any time towards her or any staff members.

During a recent visit with my sister and boyfriend, we were browsing the store when a young female employee approached us to ask if we needed assistance. We declined, letting her know we were just browsing. She then proceeded to ask if we were shopping for bags for ourselves. Again, we said no, at which point I replied, "It doesn't matter, we're just browsing." My boyfriend then asked her where the nearest restroom was, and she did assist him. However, as he walked away, she muttered to my sister and me, "Good luck, you're going to need it." We were completely caught off guard by this inappropriate and confusing comment. Her tone and attitude throughout the interaction were standoffish and rude. I take accountability that we too started to act frustrated, we understand her job is to sell us things but as customers if we decline help, employees should definitely take a step back and just let us browse the store. Already frustrated by her persistence after we had declined help, her unnecessary remark escalated the situation. We asked her to clarify what she meant and questioned her behavior, but she began avoiding us. When we told her we felt her customer service was unacceptable, she replied sarcastically with, "Yours too," which only added to our confusion and concern. Shockingly, she then called mall security on us, claiming we were being disruptive. This accusation was completely unfounded -- we were not loud, or aggressive. There were other customers nearby who could attest to this. When we asked to speak to a supervisor, she stated that she herself was the manager. If that is indeed true, her conduct is especially concerning. A manager should be held to a higher standard, and her behavior was anything but professional. She also refused to provide her name when asked, so I informed her I would be taking a photo of her in order to submit a formal complaint. She objected, claiming she was afraid of being posted online -- despite already appearing on the official sun valley BoxLunch Instagram account. So out of respect I won't upload the photo I took of her, but I did find her on the main page and her name is Hailey. This contradiction only added to the lack of accountability she displayed throughout the encounter. On top of that we were asking her to provide us with a phone number to higher management to call in a complaint and she gave us 2 non working numbers and at the end just gave us the general customer service number. I've always enjoyed shopping at BoxLunch, but this experience has completely changed my view. It is extremely disappointing to see someone in a managerial role act so unprofessionally and disrespectfully toward customers. I hope this matter is taken seriously and properly addressed by upper management.
