I've been wanting to try this place out quite some time now and decided to come for my birthday this last weekend. Loved the ambience and the decor of this place! The server was very friendly and checked on us often. Drinks took a little long to come out though. Cocktails were good. Not too sweet and well balanced for everyone ! Appetizers: Oysters : they were good but I didn't care for the green sauce that was on them. It didn't have much flavor to it Grilled oysters : good but only tasted all the cheese on it Tiradito: this was good. Tasted fresh Milk bread : it was ok. The butter was a little bland. Barely tasted the tomato Entrees: Lamb chops : I was really excited to try this, unfortunately was disappointed. The cut was thin and it had too much fat on it and barely any meat. I think the server's name was Cloe, and she was gorgeous, informed, and full of advice. Fine conversationalist. I've always had an interest in trying bone marrow, but they weren't selling it during Happy Hour. They whipped me up some anyway, which I wholly appreciated. I didn't like it much, but I'm glad to have tried it. The rib meat dumplings were good. Cheesecake for dessert. It wasn't bad. Reservations are recommended and parking is available in the Chase parking garage (which is validated for 2 hours) or valet in front of AMC. Kenny was SUPER attentive and took awesome care of us, recommending the best drinks and bites. For food we tried the Cheddar Kimchi Croquette which was phenomenal, and the Cast Iron Brie which was delicious, but the bread they brought out the first time was a bit burnt. Kenny was great though, and brought us out fresh slices. My friend from out of town visited back in April and wanted to try a trendy restaurant. I had recently heard about a hot & new restaurant called Filthy Animal, and it seemed perfect for the occasion! It's one of local hospitality group, Pretty Decent Concepts's newest projects, the same group behind Wren & Wolf and many others. The staff greeted and seated us promptly, followed by our server who came by shortly after. The space is absolutely stunning, definitely sexy and vibrant, perfect for date nights, girls' nights out, and other special celebrations. It has 1970s-era influences with a focus on live-fire cooking inspired by the jungles of South America. I would never have expected a place like this tucked inside in a restaurant off Mill Ave. Since it was still early, we weren't super hungry yet. We started with cocktails then shared the following apps, sides, and dessert: Tiradito $22 Shishito Caesar $15 Sweet potato $14 Ice cream cake My cocktail was the Have You Heard of Mezcal? which had mezcal, reposado tequila, amaro, pineapple aji amarillo, lemon, and turmeric. Nice and balanced. The tiradito has yellow tail, wood grilled peach, avocado crema, crispy quinoa and habanero passion fruit aguachile. It was delicious and refreshing. The shishito caesar was also phenomenal. I love shisito peppers and caesar salad, so to combine both was genius and flavorful. It had bonito, charred shishito peppers, ricotta salata, tapioca, chicharron, and togarashi. The sweet potato had herb labneh, yuzu marmalade, fried seaweed, fresnos, and chili oil. We got the tuna pineapple ceviche, bomba rice, and grilled asparagus. The best dish was the tuna ceviche. It has a light tart, and sweet flavor profile along w/ very fresh sushi grade tuna! The bomba rice was very bland with only 2 shrimps. The grilled asparagus had a lot more flavor than the bomba rice and was actually pretty good for being a simple vegetable! On the other hand, the cheesecake smooth like butter, and really good, but a little on the sweet side. Sometimes you just want to dress up and enjoy a night out with your girlfriends--and Filthy Animal was the perfect spot for it. Luke was our server and he was fantastic. Despite how busy it was, he took the time to offer thoughtful recommendations and was kind enough to snap a photo of us, which we really appreciated. We shared a variety of dishes, including the vegan ceviche, cast iron brie, Pibil dumplings, shishito Caesar salad, and the campfire Branzino. One of our friends is vegetarian, so it was great to see options for everyone. Most of the food was outstanding--cooked over an open fire with bold, delicious flavors. The only disappointment for me was the dumplings. The sauce reminded me of ketchup, and as someone who's Russian and has eaten a lot of dumplings in my life, they just didn't hit the mark. I wouldn't order them again. Towards the end of the evening, we did feel a bit rushed. It seemed like the managers were nudging our server about turning the table, even though we were still finishing our food. Finally decided to give Filthy Animal another try, and they have improved since my last visit. We dined here for my husband's birthday and had a lovely experience. For starters, the afro beats music was on point. The atmosphere was sultry and sexy, just as I remember. Previously, the cocktails I had were not the best. Last night was my first experience. I found this restaurant on Instagram. After looking at all the amazing videos of a fresh food, ambience, and action I definitely wanted try. Ideal date, night venue. Recommendation by the bartender is what I ordered. The New York strip. Came quick, was cold and not prepared the way that I requested. I asked for a medium well and it came out more pink than normal. I'll have to remember that in the future. Not sure why it was cold as I got the true experience of visiting the grill watching the chef's prepare each order. The manager was present and gave me a full overview and rundown of how the food is prepped. Very interesting concept. I will be back again as I realize this venue just opened up and are doing some amazing things. Witnessing the other plates that came out I'm intrigued by how the presentation looked. Everything looks so appetizing. A few things to know if there is out outdoor dining. They also offer valet services at AMC theater, which is very close to walk over. Valet is complementary. We were seated at a small two person table right next to the bar and there was another two person party sitting next to us. The tables were super close to each other so at times it felt like we were having dinner with them.. Good thing they were nice! The hostess then dropped of menus and gave us waters. First the good, the food was absolutely excellent with the exception of the Bing bread with pork belly which was on the tougher side. We went for brunch and had the filthy Bing bread, chai pancake, burger and 2 espresso martinis. The Bing bread filthy style was unfortunately a disappointment. This was quickly left to the side in favor of our entrees and was sadly a waste of food and money. The real star of the show, for me at least, was the burger. I don't think I've ever had a better burger, and I don't say that lightly. Incredibly juicy, full of flavor, just amazing. I will be back for this again. The atmosphere is fantastic. We enjoyed the theme, and the noise level was very reasonable thanks to the cork ceiling. It was a full house when we went for brunch and we could still talk at a reasonable level and enjoy ourselves. Now for the not so amazing parts... The service was incredibly slow and disorganized. We ordered as soon as our waitress arrived the first go around, and didn't see our drinks (except water) or any food until about 25 minutes later. This also happened to be when every single thing we ordered showed up at once. I was annoyed by this but decided to continue on without saying anything. I was also surprised that the rather small martini glasses were only half full. I have seen this at other restaurants so I figured it was just a way of selling another round and ignored it. That was until the table next to us ordered an espresso martini and I saw it was filled to the brim. It was pretty clear to us that the bartender tried to make a double batch to save time and failed but didn't bother to fix it. My drink was also missing the beans, a small thing but a thing nonetheless on a rather expensive drink. Our glasses also went empty for quite some time, only being refilled right before we paid. I really wavered on 2 vs 3 stars for this, but I think the response from the manager is what sealed it at a 2 for me. When she came around to our table (unprompted by us) we did tell her of the issues we experienced and she just shrugged it off and kept going. We got to experience the vibe that is Filthy Animal and it did not disappoint. The ambience and decor are lovely. We were helped by Amber H., Delinda and Kenny and they all were knowledgeable, fun and extremely attentive. When we had a slight issue with the temp issue on our lamb, Nicholas went above and beyond to compensate for it. We spent a little time talking with him and really enjoyed him. The only reason this review is not five stars is because we thought the two desserts were awful. The cake with ice cream was quite strange in flavor. Our waiter was wonderful, very attentive and suggested some great options the Cast Iron Brie for example, yummy. I was excited to try the Fire Roasted Bone Marrow appetizer and it was so just ok, all you really taste is the Jalapeño jam. This brand new place, just open 9 days, is from the same group as Wren & Wolf. You can definitely see that they have the same influence. Love that the girls' uniforms are super cute dresses and scarves. It's a great decor, with animal print chairs, long leather banquettes, great lighting, lots of plants, and, of course, taxidermied tigers. There's some pretty cool wild animal artwork, and dramatic drapery over the bar and behind the hostess station. You can see right into the kitchen, which is a feature I love. There were a ton of servers, but I think they were doing some training. The service were very attentive and the food was out quickly. I have been fraining from cocktails while my husband, healing from surgery, cannot have alcohol; however, when I saw that they had a delicious sounding mezcal cocktail, I couldn't resist. From the confusing outfits the staff wear that are Handmaid's Tale meets 70's airline hybrid to the very practiced and likely AI-generated description of the concept and the food from our server, I was entertained and not in a good way. (My server was wearing a fanny pack that was visibly dirty and that was quite off-putting.) I am happy to give credit where credit is due - our cocktails were pretty fantastic. The food though... We got the brie appetizer and while it was tasty, it was nothing special. The price point on my tomato and peanut salad was laughable given what the salad was and the shrimp skewers we added on were tough and inedible. We sent them back. My friend got a chicken skewer replacement and it was undercooked. Amazing!! Right from the start you feel the vibe, genuinely friendly staff. Taylor was our wait person and I have to say, he is probably one of the best wait persons I have ever had. He was so friendly, answered any questions and made great recommendations. And on top of that , his personality was just spectacular!! I had the branzino which had a chorizo broth and bits of crunchy chorizo in the couscous which gave it a wonderful crunch. My husband and the 8oz filet which was seared to perfection and a perfect medium rare inside. Everything has a unique Smokey taste...in a good way. We also enjoyed the side of asparagus and the Smokey edamame....those were killer good!! Then it was time for dessert and Taylor said the Miso cheesecake was the best thing on the menu. There was also a decadent blackberry and chocolate mousse dessert listed...I'm a chocoholic so we were torn. Ultimately we got both and let me tell you, the miso cheesecake with the pecan crunch was hands down better. Taylor once again was spot on with his recommendation. I could go on and on about this restaurant. All I can say is GO!!! Everything is fresh and made in house. And ask for Taylor if you can. He is amazing!!! read more

Service was very good and polite, food was very tasty. The ambiance of the place in general feels great, can be very romantic. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because where we got sat was right in front of the jaguar and so many ppl came up and would take pictures for a while and the flash then bothered us. Very memorable establishment with very particular decor. Great place for get togethers or celebrations! Our waiter was awesome and suggested a lot of food that we end up ordering and liking. The highlights: the milk bread is soft and delicious, definitely a winner. The cast iron brie was awesome and the pibil dumplings were one of my favorite items of the night. The ceviche was good although a tad salty for me but loved the plantain chips. The short rib was very good but parts of it were overcooked (charred, couldn't eat it). Ok first of all - the vibe and decor in this place is just stunning! I loved all of the intricate details and thought put into the decor. Had an out of town friend that wanted to go to dinner somewhere "with a good vibe and music." Stumbled on Filthy Animal from IG and Yelp and made a reservation. My reservation was at 7:45 but we got there about 30 mins early cause we wanted to grab some drinks at the bar or look for DDG. They were super accommodating and seated us early! Service and food: 5/5 Our server was awesome! I wish I could remember his name but he is asian and 25 yrs old. He was so friendly and knew a lot about each dish. For our food we shared the milk bread - YUM. It is this soft, pillowy, Korean milk bread with a tomato, miso butter. The chef sent out a complimentary small bite - the fanciest mozzarella stick I have ever had and it was divine! For entrees, I got the center cut filet and my friend got the sweet potato. My filet was cooked to perfection and I really enjoyed the side salad with whatever dressing was on there. My friend didn't "love" the sweet potato because of the amount of marmalade on top. Maybe if it were on the side so you could control the amount? I'd definitely come back here. Everyone was so friendly, food was great and loved the vibe!
