I went here for a birthday lunch in the afternoon of a Friday. The restaurant just opened for the day and my friend and I were the first people to be seated. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the themed safari outfits to match the scenery. I ordered the Grilled Lamp Chops, Beef Dumplings, and the Birthday Cake dessert. The lamp chops were small, and a bit cold. We did have a bit of a wait, which is odd since they just opened, but the meat was not hot; room temperature at most. The beef dumplings and dessert were really good on the other hand. I say altogether the total was just under $100 for two people. Not everything we got is pictured and I unfortunately do not remember the name of the drink, but the drink was alright. It didn't stand out. I personally would only come for the fun atmosphere and photo ops!

Filthy Animal in Tempe had been on our list for a long time, and we finally made it in last week. The space is gorgeous, with distinctive decor and a great atmosphere. The food, unfortunately, didn't match. We got the Hand Cut Dry Age New York Strip, Fire-Roasted Bone Marrow, Milk Bread, Smoked Greens, and Miso Cheesecake, and most of it was bland and pretty forgettable. The Pibil Dumplings were the exception: genuinely flavorful and done really well. Service was just alright, not great but also not terrible. They seem more focused on having "Instagrameable" food than actual flavorful food. With so many excellent options in the Valley, this subpar experience wasn't enough to bring us back anytime soon.

Customer service 10/10 Really enjoyed this place. The interior was so cute. A perfect date night/celebration restaurant. I went to the lounge in the back while waiting for my table and was shocked they had this cute lounge hiding in the back. So much fun

Probably not my favorite new spot, but not a bad place to try if you're looking for "vibes" and a good steak. Starting with the positive: our waitress was great, friendly, and ready to go with recommendations. The steak was the standout - wow. If you order one thing, you NEED to try the steak. Their wood fired grill cooks it perfectly. The sea bass was also delicious, with crispy skin and yummy couscous. The sweet potatoes as a side were great as well. Would skip the regular potatoes and the dumplings. The potatoes just weren't cooked and the sauce wasn't good so it couldn't make up for anything. The dumplings were fine, but so expensive for the few you get. The bad: not sure if this is a regular occurrence, but there was a large table of "influencers" taking flash photos and videos constantly. There were a few other tables besides this standout that were doing similar things. I support influencers getting content (I myself take photos for my yelp reviews), however this was incessant and completely ruined our date night vibe. It was disruptive and we were surprised the staff let this happen in such a nice restaurant. Overall, probably good for college students and a younger crowd not worried about a space overrun with influencers. Otherwise, I would skip this spot and try out another of Phoenix's great steakhouses instead!

I'll make this short only because it's late . 9.6/10 . Would have been a 10/10 but my rice was cold . This place was all gas no breaks

We had brunch here, it was okay. Aesthetically displaced is lovely, but it is right in the heart of campus. It was not busy and we had great service and an excellent seat.

This was the only steakhouse I visited in Phoenix, so I might be a little biased, but I can confidently say this was my favorite meal of the entire weekend! From the moment we arrived, the restaurant had such great vibes. There was also a subtle, almost secretive animal theme throughout the space that added a really cool touch. The hostess and waitstaff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The drinks were good, but the food was definitely the star. The milk bread was absolutely delicious, and the pibil dumplings were also really good. My only complaint is that they only came with three pieces, which felt a little expensive for the portion. The beef tartare was another standout. It was delicious on its own and paired really well with the banana chip, which added a nice contrast in texture and flavor. I would probably skip the white oak grilled skewers, though. They were pretty burnt, and unfortunately, they didn't really stand out to me compared to the other dishes. The ribeye was cooked to absolute perfection. We asked if they could prepare the two halves of the ribeye at different temperatures since my wife prefers her steak closer to medium, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. They even comped our milk bread because it took a little longer than expected to come out, which was a really nice gesture. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and some really memorable dishes. Definitely recommend checking this steakhouse out if you're in the Phoenix area!

Came to celebrate my birthday and I loved it! Got the tropical mocktail and it was not that great. We got the Brie for appetizer and it was good. For the meal I got the filet and omg! So good! It had a little kick to it but I love the wood fire taste to it. Also I love the open kitchen concept! The ambiance is a vibe! Also was able to get a complementary burger cake. It was good. It was ice cream. The server was nice.

My friend and I came in for Taste in Tempe, where they do a prix-fixe menu and had a delicious dinner! We shared the pibil dumplings and the cheddar & kimchi croquettes for the appetizer. Both were really good but had a bit of a kick. For my entree I got the steak and it was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce was so good. Lastly, I got the miso cheesecake for dessert and the flavors were incredible! I love the animal and jungle themed decor in this upscale restaurant. We were seated right next to the big stuffed leopard which was fun. Our waitress was super personable but there were a few service mistakes. My entree was missing the potatoes it was supposed to come with. And when they boxed my meal, they didn't include everything like the salad and chimichurri sauce. Luckily I checked and was able to get everything added, but staff shouldn't be neglecting or throwing away part of my meal. I would definitely come back here though as the ambience and food were top notch!

Grilled oysters. Yummy... but just the 3

Loved this place! First, we had to change our reservation, and the host could not have been nicer. On a busy Saturday night, he graciously allowed us to push it back by an hour, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed. The jungle theme, leopard prints, intimate booths, and dramatic overhead lighting created a fun, unique atmosphere. The service was excellent, the cocktails were delicious, and every dish we ordered was a hit. My son said it may have been the best steak tartare he's ever had (although neither of us was a fan of the plantain chips). It was certainly the best tartare I've had in a very long time, with generous chunks of high-quality steak instead of being overly minced. The baked brie dip was outstanding, the grilled oysters were excellent, and my New York strip was cooked perfectly. My only small criticism is that the oyster appetizer came with just three oysters. For a $19 appetizer, I'd love to see at least four. An even number also makes sharing much easier, although my son generously let me have the extra one! Overall, this is a fantastic concept with great food, great service, and a memorable atmosphere. We can't wait to come back.

Went back for a girls night. Wow this place is still amazing. Ordered the whole lobster Mac and cheese and it was so good! One of my favorite places in the Valley!

this place is super popular but I'm not completely sold on it after my experience. We sat at the bar waiting for an inside reservation. The bartender wasn't the friendliest or most kind guy on earth. I enjoyed their unique spin on an espresso martini, it had some kind of pineapple flavor in it. We shared the brie with bread and the bread came out pretty charred. We were seated and we ended up ordering the short rib and chicken. The short rib was very tender, the sauce was unique and it seemed tomato based. The chicken was good and was paired with potatoes. Overall the food was just okay, as were the drinks. They had a small private bar in the back that you had to make special reservations for - I think it's called drop dead. They had a unique cocktail menu that I'd be interested in experiencing

Pork Belly Skewers

I came here for dinner with friends, it was busy & we sat on the outside patio. The Pork Belly Skewers were delicious and juicy & a dish I would order again. The Milk bread is light, fluffy, & a great starter to share. The Pibil Dumplings with the grilled pineapple was a sweet flavor touch. The Shishito Caesar can be individual or shared, I feel like it's a comfort salad because you know what you're getting. The Roasted Bone Marrow is another dish I would order again. The Tuna Pineapple Ceviche comes with lots of tuna, great flavor, and plantain chips. The Elote Asado is a great small plate if you like elote. The Lamb Chop is tender, juicy and a great main. The Mashed Potatoes are whipped so smooth. Service was friendly and attentive.

Is there a dress code?

From smart/business casual to the nines. You'll see a random underdressed individual. It's not strictly enforced.

Are kids allowed? I have an 8 and 10 -year-old. My kids are not your average eight and 10-year-old as they have very sophisticated pallets and extremely well behaved, mature young ladies.

Yes they will be fine.

Do you need a reservation?

I would recommend a reservation.

Is there a dress code?

Business casual

Is it 21+?

No. Just don't go to their drop dead gorgeous speakeasy if you are not 21

Is it kid friendly?

It was packed with adults, so our visit didn't give the kid friendly atmosphere. We didn't see any kids, nor a kids menu.…

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.

The summer crowd was nice, and despite it being the off-season you still had brands doing promos and showing off new products. What I like: A small window in the back to order bar food. You won't regret the sliders! What needs work: It was early and not a particularly crowded day, but somehow the kitchen was out of quite a few items. When you step up to the bar, prepare to WAIT. It's located inside a hotel so you have to come up the elevator and when you turn the corner and walk into the vestibule you are immediately thrown into the Halloween experience. There's a seating area and some shelves and now there's a phantom there, as well as mood lighting and some spooky little touches like skulls and scary doll heads. When you walk through to the actual bar, there is a giant skeleton in the red Moody lighting. There are spider webs everywhere but my favorite thing in the entire bar was on a credenza that held spooky dolls - - and a very creepy clown doll with a broken leg. I really want that clown doll! There is a circle of ghost children dancing and a coffin in the corner. They do have a haunted Halloween cocktail menu, and while you can still order from the regular menu, they've actually temporarily removed some of the regular cocktails to make room for the Halloween cocktails. We ordered the Clown Pear-anoia, okay mezcal cocktail served in a spooky clown mug, and the Widows Whisper, a Halloween tiki drink. As always at Little Rituals, the cocktails were delish. Little rituals has received many awards, including a James Beard semifinalist for outstanding bar, and the 2025 Best U.S. Hotel Bar. If you like cocktail bars, you have to go to little rituals. But, if you're looking for a really cool bar, KWSC is for you. I stopped by on a week day evening around 8:30 p.m. Located in Roosevelt Row, while there isn't parking, I found free parking on the street a few minutes away on foot. Ambiance (4.5/5): My type of spot. Dimly lit with a speakeasy vibe. There are eight or so seats at the bar, and the rest of your seating options consist of comfortable chairs and sofas. You'll see a lot of photos of people's bums on the walls lol. This is indeed part of the appeal. For free, if you would like, they will take a polaroid of your butt and memorialize you eternally on the walls. While I didn't do that, if that's up your alley, go for it. Service (2/5): This is the main area of improvement. After being seated, I was greeted promptly and got my first cocktail promptly. From there, things fell apart. I had to grab the bartender's attention to order my second drink and to close out. It was a week day and they weren't busy. And there were two bartenders. A lack of attentiveness. When I closed out, I noticed that the cocktails were both $2 more expensive than what was listed on the menu. When I inquired, I was told that the menus were outdated... umm what? If you're not going to re-print your menus, give people a heads-up when they arrive. I understand that most people won't notice, but this is deception. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet. If you're trying to eat here, all they have is snacks. The menu doesn't specify but I'm thinking it's probably chips or somethign like that. Drinks (4/5): A lengthy, and interesting, cocktail list. Similar to a speakeasy, you're going to see creativity and an interesting blend of flavors here. The most popular drink is Fuck Nazis. We're seeing a theme here. KWSC is an interesting spot. For various dollar amounts, you can get funny things outside of the polaroids of your bum. My first cocktail was great. My second one, a tiki drink, not so much. The menu said that there would be some flame action happening. It didn't. Just another example of the service falling short. If the service were better, Killer Whale Sex Club would easily be a five-star experience.
