The food is good, the tea is awful. I received a small pot without a cover and water warm enough to put my finger in to test. The tea, naturally, did not steep well, nor did it retain what warmth it had since the pot was uncovered. I admit to being on a campaign for tea as good as the coffee other folks receive. So often we get barely hot water with a tea bag, and no one ever comes around and offers us a second cup, or bottomless cups, like the coffee drinkers get. Maybe we get more water, but never another (free) tea bag and the weak tea that comes from re-using a teabag is deplorable. Not fair, especially since tea is far cheaper to buy and make when compared to coffee. read more

My only complaint is that the restaurant is tiny and there is often a wait to sit. When you do get a seat you are often bumping elbows with people next to you. However, the food is excellent and I recommend the corned beef hash. read more

Went in by the reviews thinking this was a good place. Took my friends here, what an embarrassment! Ordered the apple crisp French toast which still had uncooked batter in the toast which we told the waitress about, she took it without telling us whether she was bringing some back or not. We were just left wondering. Our friends ordered the salmon baguette. The eggs were runny and uncooked but the manager still argued that the eggs were fine. She still had us pay for the uneaten salmon! It's to my understanding customer satisfaction is key in the restaurant business and we left completely satisfied. I feel terrible for not leaving a tip, I've never done that before, but te waitresses not once stopped over to see if everything was okay. Because of that our friend had to use a spoon to eat his eggs and French toast. We were left thirsty. No one came to fill our waters, or ask if we wanted more coffee. It seemed like they were avoiding us but we weren't being difficult. I wil never recommend this place and never stepping foot in it ever again. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. read more

First I should start by saying my daughter and I have eaten here several times under the new ownership. My daughter has a peanut allergy and we are diligent in telling servers everywhere we eat. We have told each server at the mills each time we eat there. They acknowledge the allergy and my daughters usually gets a waffle or an egg dish. This time however was quite different. After ordering, the server came back and said we cannot guarantee anything is peanut-free and asked us if it's a real allergy. Trust me no one fakes a peanut allergy. I informed the server that we just ate here two weeks ago and have been here many times over the last year and this is the first time anyone has approached us and told us they couldn't guarantee my daughters safety. She then went and brought the chef/owner over. This is where it went south very quickly. He was rude and condescending and brought my daughter to tears. He said listen sweetheart I don't want you to die or have to use your EpiPen here. I use peanuts all over my kitchen. I let him know that we just ate hear and he said no one would serve us under his watch which is completely untrue as we've eaten here no less than six times since he's owned the restaurant. I have no issue with a restaurant telling me that there may be an issue however his over-the-top you may die comments and I don't want to see you use the EpiPen in my restaurant in front of all of the customers brought my daughter to tears. And in 16 years with this allergy we have never once had to leave a restaurant due to someone telling us they could not manage her peanut allergy. In this day and age where people have allergies to have a chef/owner talk to a customer this way is completely unacceptable and over-the-top. We left and went down the street to Percy's where they have no issue serving my daughter. We will never go back to the mills because I've never been talked to that way by anyone. Tried the Mills for the first time today and will DEFINITELY be returning! The inside of the restaurant was cute, bright, and cozy, and the staff were all very friendly. It's a very small place, so be prepared to wait if you visit during a busy time - but it's worth it! My husband had The Whole Farm, which is kind of a breakfast sampler with eggs, pancakes, etc., and he enjoyed it. But MY breakfast was the clear winner of the meal. I'm from the South so I had to try the Southern Jumbo Biscuit and Sausage Gravy from the specials menu. Holy crap, y'all, this was LEGIT. A huge, fluffy yet dense, perfect biscuit with the sausage gravy I never knew my life was missing. We're talking, like, 90% sausage, 10% gravy. I cannot possibly overstate the amazing deliciousness of this dish. I literally cannot wait to go back and order the exact same dish for as long as it's on the menu. I have no idea what their lunch food is like but if this biscuit is any indication, then it's probably effing delightful. read more

1.) coffee was very good (so many breakfast places really fail in this category) 2.) huge menu, all the basics, and tons of really creative choices too. for example, had to decide between the special of lemon ricotta pancakes and something called the "Cotuit Croissant." chose the latter and was delighted. 3.) EXCELLENT service. I was there on a weekday, so it wasn't busy, but the staff was attentive and went above and beyond in a huge way while I juggled hyper toddler twins as a solo parent. 4.) inside is super cute, modern, fresh and clean. This is a cute and cozy restaurant with a local feel. We went on a summer weekend and waited about 1/2 hour for a table. The food all seemed freshly prepared and came out pretty fast. Our waitress was also really sweet. Coffee was pretty good and this was one if the most reasonable meals we had while on the cape! Although this place was nice I wouldn't recommend going on a weekend. It's small and it was really loud. Also, because it was so busy it felt like we were all sitting on top of each other. "The Mills is a Must!" Always busy and we can see why. Had the Cape Eggs Benedict with homemade fish cakes that were light and tasty, two perfectly poached fresh eggs, lemony Hollandaise Sauce, homemade brown bread and home fries. Yum! My husband had the Traditional Eggs Benedict cooked just the way he likes them and our friends said the homemade hash with poached eggs were the best they've had anywhere this summer.
