Started with chowder. Delicious and they split it for us. Fiddle fish pot and fettuccine were both excellent. Waitress was great also.

Fabulous food and fabulous service. We had an amazing dinner at Fiddle River ... will definitely be back. The menu has lots to choose from. The fish chowder was great with a nice variety of seafood. We would also recommend the cod cakes. The wedge salad is delicious but too big for one person - will order next time to share. read more

Great little place Cod cakes were amazing Shrimp was amazing However, I was extremely disappointed in the lobster. It was coated in slices and seasoning, I'm an east coaster and I like my lobster to taste like lobster Good service over all, i wouldn't order the lobster again though read more

We come here for the crab cakes and Fish soup. Both have the most amazing flavours. everything was piping hot. This meal never disappoints. Service is super as well. It was pricey but worth it for our anniversary dinner. See you next year! read more

I know Jasper is land-locked, and I can certainly get quality seafood where I live near the coast, but the sign promising Alaskan King crab legs was too much for me to pass by. They didn't disappoint. My husband had a tough time deciding between the venison shank and elk strip loin (because elk is something you never see on a menu in the DC area) and went with the venison shank. It was quite tender and tasty. Both meals came with the same vegetable sides which is a bit uninspired, but I have to remember this is a small mountain town not a food mecca. The veggies were well done though. There is a beautiful view of the mountains through the picture window. The atmosphere is surprisingly casual and lodge-style considering the prices which are a bit high, but I found that throughout Jasper. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience. read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local shop owner, and boy am I glad that we took his advice! This adorable restaurant can be found by climbing up a few sets of stairs. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious! A few large blackboards had all of the daily specials written on it and were brought to your table to look at while you ordered. Much better then having the waitress rant off all the daily specials and then having to ask him/her to repeat them. The portions were the perfect size. I got the salmon with a wasabi crust on a bed of kale: it was perfectly cooked! Some of the others at our tabel got the cobb salad, the french onion soup (with fiddle flair...delicious!). TIPS: +Make sure they bring out some fresh/warm bread because it was sooo good! +Order a shrimp skewer with any salad that you get to add that perfect amount of flare! read more

I booked this restaurant for my partners 60th. We were visiting Jasper for three nights and this was our best evening meal. Jeanie and Jenny made our celebrations so special. We had gin and tonics on the sunny patio then moved to our window table. The food was excellent and I wished we had discovered this restaurant on our first read more

Well, Jasper town is probably never renowned for its food. This restaurant is an exception. I was skeptical when I saw all the yelpers' prior 5 star reviews on Fiddle River. Sounds too good to be true. But I decided to give it a try, at last minute. It was my best decision today! A photo is better than 1000 words, so check out my photos! Keywords are: snow mountain view, in door and outdoor, fresh delicious and creative foods! Add 2 more photos since I came back the other day! read more

Dined here for the first time on New Years Eve and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience. The food was delicious and the service was fabulous! I had the seafood pot and my boyfriend had the elk/bison meatloaf. Both tasted delicious! Had a bite of my boyfriend's creme brule but wasn't too impressed with it. Had way too much sugar topping on it. Was like taking a bite of pure sugar. Fantastic otherwise & look forward to going there again when we visit Jasper again. read more

Tasty and very good service. I tried the Fettucine and it's really really good. My parents did try the shrimp and lobster and they're totally love it! The desserts are also yumm but we were too full to finish everything :) read more

This restaurant excelled in food, location and service. We enjoyed the patio on the second floor with a great view of the Rockies. The mushroom bruschetta appetizer was delicious! I had the arctic char baked in a phyllo pastry stuffed with goat cheese and spinach as my entree. It was outstanding! My husband ordered the vegetarian pasta special. He was equally impressed with his choice, both with its flavor and the quantity. The service was also first rate! Thank you Fiddle River Restaurant for a great evening! read more

We will never go back. Our little three year old had better food than the entrée dishes we had. If you want decent french fries and okayish chicken fingers this is definitely the place to go. read more

Nice view, schnitzel was tasty after adding a squeeze of lemon and a touch of salt. Steak was cooked correctly but it was not a good cut, and lobster was not cleaned correctly. Lemon drop martini was over sweet, no nice sour bite to it at all. Our server Joanne was wonderful! All that being said I would skip this restaurant if i had a do over. read more

Everything we ate here was excellent and appeared to be made to order... everything was fresh/tasty and all of the desserts are home made too. Good selection of meat, fish and veggie options... Ask for a window table - great view of the mountains :-) Definitely a good place to try if you are in Jasper for a few days... read more

Mu husband and I spent a couple of days in Jasper, we looked on Yelp for a restaurant to try and we decided for Fiddle River. We were very satisfied with the choice. The restaurant is not the cheapest, but the quality of the food is great. We tried the cod cake as appetizer, my husband tried the Elk and I had the fish pot. All excellent. Good selection for wine and beer. read more

Came from 5 days in Vancouver to Jasper. What great dining in Vancouver. Jasper is a cool western town and hoped to find a good restaurant here. Total disappointment in Fiddle River. Watched two other tables send back something. We sent back a drink. Our appetizer was disappointing. Fresh fish for main course was fine, but the exact same rice and veggies on two plates showed a diner style. Waitress was harried with all her tables. I have never written a bad review until now. Sorry Fiddle River, you have a great location, but food and drink need work. read more

The food, the braised Elk stroganoff was amazing, the rest was good. A little overpriced for what your getting. If you have never had elk before I'd recommend you go to try it. As for the seating only 1/3 has a view of the city, the rest have a view of stairs of the inside mall. Which takes away from the romantic ambiance. read more

Fantastic food, great service but very expensive. Lots of food combinations I would never have considered but they were delicious. Be prepared for a hefty tab, but once in a while, it's worth it. Easily the best rack of lamb I've ever had. read more

WOW! We slid in here for supper after a long drive last night, having heard it was good. Understatement, and we did not even get the view which must be excellent. Service was just perfect and we loved the interesting food. The elk stroganoff was BIG on flavour and plenty to eat, and the wild game meatloaf was fantastic as well. The appetizer of the night was also plenty good. Presentations were wonderful. Prices were fair value, and given the unusual food quality and great service, we'll be back! read more

This literally a hidden treasure. Up the stairs of an older building. Cozy, amazing food. Will definitely be back.

Food is great as usual. Been going there for few years now. Menu keep on changing and the chef is keeping a great pride in its menu. No bad experiences here read more

So happy that we were referred here from another local restaurant that was done serving for the evening. The food was delicious, portions were generous, prices affordable, ambiance was wonderful, (2nd floor dining up away from the street with great views) and service was perfect and classy. There were 4 in our group, and we each ordered a different entree. All 4 meals were amazing, so can't go wrong with whatever you order. Don't miss this place if you're in jasper read more

Everything was delicious!!! The seafood soup had everything you could imagine in it all in a delicious creamy broth. Salmon was cooked perfectly and the meatloaf was superb! So glad we tired this place!! read more

I'll get to the point. The bottom box has what was supposed to be a lobster tail and shrimp skewer meal; the top box has what was sent to replace it. When the initial order arrived the restaurant failed to remember to give us a tail with any meat in it (circled in red is the remaining meat we were able to scrape out of the shell), and the food was cold in comparison to the second dish we had ordered. To make this up, the restaurant brought us a "new meal", but then failed to remember to add any shrimp skewers. When we told the delivery personnel (whom i suspect is the owner of the restaurant) that we also expect new skewers the man continued to argue with us telling us, and i quote, that if this were in the restaurant and the food came to our table cold that he would "just heat it up again". Im not sure about anyone else on here but i personally would not be impressed if i paid $39.00 for rubber shrimp and a literal quarter of lobster tail. Never mind not having ordered the side of bullshit at our door after the man *attempted* to right things by arguing AT us to the point of us having to raise our voices just to be heard. Honestly i would recommend McDonalds over this place. p.s. the food was also flavourless read more

Love this place. Not quite the same as dining in person but nonetheless the food was still amazing.

Don't go if u can find another restaurant around. The food is not bad. But my good mood from tourism is ruined by harsh host and waitress with poke face! read more

You can tell they have a inter-course silverware replacement system in place, very pleased. The scallop and shrimp pasta dish was overly salty though, and I'm someone who likes food on the salty side. read more

Loved the elk stroganoff! Very catering to GF, cow dairy free diet!

Fantastic meal. Chowder had huge portions of fish and was delish. The seafood pot was phenomenal. So much flavor and an abundance of seafood. Highly recommend white visiting Jasper. read more

Went to this restaurant with my wife for her birthday. Worst meal in a restaurant in a long time. It started out good appetizers came out hot and were good should have stopped there. Meal went down hill very fast from there we both ordered the Alaskan King Crab, both came out Luke warm at best we sent both back and came out the second time just slightly warmer. Server did not seem to care about the state of our cold meals. read more

I never rate restaurants, but the seafood here was perfectly cooked. The lobster and crab was worth every cent.

This was our best meal in jasper and area ( we where there 5 nights). The seafood was fresh, delicious and we loved it. We highly recommend! read more

Very nice dinner and sever as well! From the Brie appetizer, to dinner, to the chocolate dessert - tasty and a very nice dinner!

We stayed in Jasper for one night and were looking for fine seafood. The high recommendation given by the Frommer's guide to Fiddle River Seafood convinced us to choose this restaurant for our dinner. We ordered three different main dishes (salmon, catfish, and trout). The food was well-presented on hot plates and our waitress was very nice with an excellent sense of humor. All entrees were delicious and portions were reasonable. Convinced by the quality of the dishes, we decided to finish the dinner with a creme brulee and a chocolate sundae. Although the creme brulee was way too sweet, the chocolate sundae was a delight with the right balance of taste and sweetness. We noticed that the creme brulee had been taken off the bill after our comments on its sweetness. Overall, a great restaurant I would highly recommend. You won't be disappointed! read more

Beautiful view, polite staff, meh food. My boyfriend and I ate here after several recommendations; we were told it's the best restaurant in town (really?). The food was ok. Not the best I've had, but not the worst either. We had the coconut prawns and schnitzel. The coconut prawns lacked coconut flavor. The potato salad that came with the schnitzel was tasty, and my boyfriend thought the schnitzel itself was alright. Skipped dessert. I wouldn't be willing to spend over $70 on a meal here again. read more

The Elk Stroganoff was PERFECT! That was the tastiest game entree I have ever been served or prepared myself. I was also very pleased with the fine dinner salad. Great service and a wonderful menu. This second floor dining room features very lovely mountain views from the window tables and in the foreground several stately elk were grazing in the fields across the highway. Although the stroganoff was spectacularly delicious and ever so tender, I refrained from making further inquiries about the freshness of the featured ingredient. read more
