    raven salad

After a long morning of bus touring, we decided that we needed a light lunch. It was past the noon rush, so the place was mostly empty. We grabbed a table for 5 near the front windows, which gave us plenty of natural light. Our server got to us right away, with waters and menus. The lunch menu had lots of variety, with Bison, Tuna Poke, Burgers, and salads. We settled on the Raven Salad which had a nice combination of greens, seeds and chickpeas. It was a good size portion that they were able to split for us. Had a terrific discussion with the resident/server who gave us a personal account of last years fire and the resulting damage. Lots of courageous people who are committed to the town, and appreciate all the tourist who are still coming to this area. Definitely a place that we would return to.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Raven Bistro, and it was truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a unique charm that set the tone for a memorable evening. A unique cocktail menu was too inviting. I'm huge fan of Negronis so when I saw "Spicy Negroni" it was must try. It was very nice and a great twist to a Negroni, I must admit I'm a purist and will go back to my traditional Negronis in the future. The Mussels were steamed in white wine, cream, shallots, mushrooms and fresh herbs and served warm pita. They were fresh and flavorful, perfectly seasoned and served in a rich broth that begged to be soaked up with pita bread. Entree selected as the Lemon Sesame Schnitzel, it was a pork loin breaded with lemon zest, sesame seeds and ground crispy rice then fried. This was served with potato salad made with new potato chunks mixed with chorizo and green onion aioli, this was atop some arugula (could have left off the arugula). Black sesame seeds were a great ingredient to the breading giving in unique flavor. The schnitzel was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, every bite was a delight! Service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend The Raven for anyone looking for top-notch food and a cozy, welcoming vibe.

Tried the pulled elk tagliatelle and bison short ribs. Both were good but the short ribs really stood out. They were very tender and fell right off the bone. Service was good too

Quaint restaurant in Jasper Alberta. Definitely make a reservation a few days in advance if you want to dine here. It's quite popular and when we walked up for our 6pm rez.... We overheard the host say the next available seating for the evening was 8:45pm. So, don't expect to be a walk in at "dinner time". We started with the red pepper dip which was sweet, savory and had a little kick. It's served with naan or tortilla chips or half and half. I prefer the naan, myself. For dinner I had the seafood hot pot which is similar to a cioppino but with more "umph" in the broth. I was cold and this warmed me up nicely while satisfying my need for protein and seafood! Lots of chunks of fish, some mussels and shrimp. Served with rice. I recommend getting a side of bread to dip into the sauce/broth. The husband had the bison short ribs which were very meaty and tender...fall of the bone. I'd recommend either depending on what you felt like eating. All were delicious! They also have a nice cocktail and wine list so you should be able to find a great pairing! Service was great. Our server was kind and attentive.

This amazing restaurant, just right behind Jasper's visitor center, should be a must for all out-of-towner visitors of this community. They offer a well-curated menu that offers enough variety and certainly not overwhelming. I chose the bison ribs for an early dinner and it's definitely 10 out of 10! The ribs aren't just so well-prepared and presented, but the flavors came through and through each bone, as well. It paired very well with the mash and veggies that soaked all the juices and sauce from the ribs. Capped the evening with their lemon cheesecake to-go, which rounded up this meal pretty good. It's always recommended to make a reservation for this restaurant but I didn't run into any issues as a walk-in. The service was amazing, my server was really nice and accommodating. Although there's nothing extra special I noticed, the fact that I didn't have to wait for a table is enough.

Vegan phyllo pastry entree - the flavour was outstanding!

My husband and I are vegan and the options here are phenomenal! Despite being from southern California, it took travelling to Jasper, AB to have our first vegan meal made with phyllo pastry. It was outstanding. It inspired me to make something similar at home. Our server was knowledgeable about vegan food and was very welcoming and friendly. The ambiance was lovely - cozy and quiet. The wine was very nice and there was even a vegan dessert option. A huge win and a hidden gem in Jasper. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Food was a nice interesting mix of flavors with the Mediterranean flair. Dishes were all notably delicious. We had the Elk tagliatelle the salmon and the bison "old fashion" short ribs. Appetizer was flatbread and artichoke puffs. Service was great and attentive overall. The atmosphere is intimate since the number of tables is so small. Definitely worth reserving a table if you can.

Everything about this place screams perfection. The uniquely designed raven decor, the spotlessly clean restaurant and bathroom, the extremely hospitable staff, and the masterful Mediterranean fusion dishes this place screams quality and perfection. We made reservations after seeing how popular they were and lucky we did because everyone in front of when we arrived was turned away. Their drink menu is amazing which has an amazing selection of quality wines. I went with their rose from chile. For dinner I had the pulled elk pasta. It was absolutely delicious. The pasta was cooked perfect, the spinach and tomatoes were a great touch and paired well with the cheese. Was the perfect quantity of meat to pasta. Overall, this place was everything they said it was. If you're in the area and you want to have a great evening with a great meal then make sure to make a reservation.

For a party of two we were seated immediately. We were here just for starters and desserts. Ordered two vegetarian starters, falafel and cauliflower croquettes. Falafel was a little under cooked and croquettes were average. For dessert we had some kind of raspberry chocolate creme brûlée and this was AMAZING. Ambiance was nice and even though the place was quite crowded, the service was quite fast.

Street parking available if you can find some. Place was 10% full Friday at 11:30AM. Waitress was good. Place feels nice, a little fancier. Schnitzel was best I've had in a Long time. 10/10. Rubarb chutney was a lovely addition. Charred lemon was also a cool bonus. Vegetable black bean soup was tomato based so not my thing but boyfriend loved it. Boyfriend got the chicken schwarma. Loved it. So much on this plate, so many good flavors. Naan was soft, chicken was moist and flavorful. 9/10. Overall 100% would come back. Next time - chickpea burger looked sounds amazing.

We decided on The Raven for a fancier option for dinner. The Raven definitely has an elevated, upscale feel. Great spot for a date night. I was able to get a reservation earlier in the day for the evening ahead. I highly recommend a reservation as it filled up quickly. I thought the service was excellent. Our server was super friendly and chatted with us a bit knowing we were visitors/ from out of town. I ordered the saffron seafood pot. It was excellent! Extremely flavorful and all the variety of seafood tasted fresh. Dessert is also a must. The crème brûlée was unlike any I'd ever had. Great experience at The Raven. Definitely would return next time I make it back to Jasper!

Can't rave enough about The Raven Bistro! It may be tucked away in the small, charming town of Jasper, but this little restaurant packs a powerful punch! While visiting Banff and Jasper National Parks several weeks ago (June 2023), my hubby & I stayed 2 nights in Jasper and ended up ordering take out here the first night, then eating in their outdoor patio the 2nd night because we loved it so much! The food here is as creative as it is delicious! What attracted us even more were their fantastic plant-based/vegan options. Take-out the first night we ordered: * La Pastille - innovative & flavorful combo of ingredients wrapped in phyllo pastry and baked (vegan) * Cauliflower Croquettes - crispy cauliflower & quinoa cakes (vegan & GF) Dining at their outdoor patio the 2nd night (and for my husband's B-day): * Zusketti Verde - zucchini spaghettoni simmered in a pumpkin seed pesto (vegan & GF) * Halloumi Buddha Bowl (vegan style without the Halloumi cheese) - quinoa, roasted sweet potato, greens, and more (also GF) The cocktails here are also great, and their Maple Old Fashioned was such a great take on an Old Fashioned with that touch of Canadian maple syrup! Friendly, warm and attentive service (even over the phone when we called to order take-out the first night). We just wish a place like this existed near us in the Bay Area! We'll definitely be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know who plans a trip to Banff/Jasper and return the next time we're in town too!

    Seafood pot

We were excited to try The Raven's Bistro after hearing great reviews from our Airbnb host and previous guests who raved about this restaurant. We wanted to have a nicer dinner while exploring Jasper National Park and made a reservation a couple of days in advance. It was definitely quite busy on a Saturday night so we were glad we made a res. To start we shared the bison and bacon flatbread. The flavors were great and I loved the goat cheese but it came out a bit cold and the flatbread was too soft and doughy for my liking. For entrees we got the three pharaohs (beef tenderloin, shawarma chicken, and braised elk brisket) and saffron seafood pot. The three pharaohs was good and we loved trying the different meats, the chicken was surprisingly super tender and flavorful. The braised elk was a bit tough though and we didn't end up eating all of it. The seafood pot was good with strong tomato flavor but the seafood in the broth didn't seem very fresh and I wish the broth had more seafood flavor similar to a cioppino. It had more of a tomato soup consistency. Overall the experience was great and I would recommend this spot in downtown Jasper but it didn't quite live up to the hype.

Do not come here looking for the delicious Olympia Greek restaurant. This has become a Pizza…read morePalace. Stayed to try it out and saw they had a Chicken Souvlaki as the 'Palace Special'. Definitely not the special I was looking forward to. The salad was delicious and the waitress was very sweet - 1 star. The rest - not sure where the chicken came from but it wasn't fresh, french fries, white steamed rice with some kinda herbs just shaken on top, and sour cream with maybe cucumber (but barely) - they called it tzatziki but none like I've ever had.

So actually this gets a 3.5 stars if I could rate it so. Based in a strip mall, entering it I was…read moreconfused by its odd décor. On one hand it hand Greek paintings on one half of the place which are actually quite unique and nice. On the other half there are four tv screens all playing different channels and odd bar with hockey and sports memorabilia in it. I hate this type of place. A place that isn't confident in itself and is trying to cater to too many people. I would of stuck with the Greek. As far as I know this is the only Greek restaurant while there are other places where you can check out a sports game. I probably would have left then, but it was already close to 8 PM and on a Sunday most places close at 9 in Hinton (the independent ones anyway). Our server was pleasant enough. Menu was diverse in terms of Greek food, I saw many dishes that I haven't seen in Greek restaurants in Edmonton, plus some pastas and other non Greek dishes. They also have a really good wine selection with some Greek wines which I appreciated. I decided being hungry after all day hiking, the shrimp Slovakia platter, while my husband tried the lasagna. Both dishes came out in a reasonable time. The flavours though were hit and miss. My platter, in general, was good. The shrimp actually was excellent. Perfectly cooked and lovely flavoured, I would order it again. The lemon half potato was cooked perfectly as well with the right lemon to olive oil ratio. The rice, was fine but bland, however often the rice is. It is meant just to be a carb to fill you with the meat. The salad was okay, but only one olive in the whole thing (?) and the dressing could use some tweaking. Also there was a tonne of salad and half of potato with a small amount of rice. I wished there was more of a balance on the plate. The real issue I had was the pita and tzatziki. No way was that tzatziki that I had. It was definitely Caesar salad dressing. It did not in any way, shape or form resemble tzatziki. I ate the pita without it. My husband said the lasagna was decent, however not awesome. It came out ridiculously hot which made it hard to eat. My husband was pleased with the amount of meat, but didn't like the sauce at all. Too sweet without any of the usual rosemary/basil/oregano flavours you would expect. I think their bare bones are good, but they need to up the game in terms of sauces. This wouldn't be the first place I would go to, but I would also give it another try...especially on a Sunday night where the chains are busy and obnoxious and the independents are few.
