First time in Jasper. Service was awesome, food was disappointing. Alberta New York steak was very tough. My friend ordered Schnitzel...suppose to have been served with warn German potato salad, instead we got cold potato salad loaded with so much mayo we couldn't see any potatoes. read more

My family ate here a few times and we were very pleased with the food and service. It is probably one of the ideal spots in town for a medium size group to hold a private function and not be disturbed. read more

Nice restaurant on the upper floor with a view. Very friendly staff and very creative meal ideas. The menu brought us in very excited. However, execution needs to be improved. One fish dish was dry, and the other lacked a bit of flavor. Although the accompanying food was good. the pasta sauce had the right ingredients but needed a fuller flavor. The service was great: attentive and quick staff made this a good experience, and this review could have easily been a 4 or 5 star if the food were better. Perhaps the other menu items are the ones to try... read more

The menu, ambiance and service was so wonderful, I cancelled my reservation at another restaurant to come here a second night. Fresh, delicious food in generous portions and attentive friendly service make this a top notch dining spot in Jasper. Sitting out by the window on the patio gave a stunning view of the mountains, people watching and views of the busy rail yard. read more

This is a top choice for delicious food, attentive service and a wide view of the railroad and mountains. We ordered the almond crusted trout and the fish pot. For both dishes they were most attentive to our requests for vegan variations on preparing meals. The prices might be a bit higher than other places, but the quality and portions were worthwhile. Definately a place return to! read more

Awesome service and a great view of the mountains. Had the elk stroganoff the first night in Jasper and it was so good we had to go again a couple nights later. Had the lobster and shrimp, and the fish and chips the second time around and it was just as great. I recommend getting one of the 3 course meals for the biggest bang for your buck. read more

Had dinner here last Friday. The staff was friendly and accommodating, reseating is next to the window when it freed up. I had the Fiddle Fish Pot which is hands down one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. Lots do seafood and the fish was cooked perfectly. The curry sauce was silky smooth and full of flavour. My wife had the pumpkin seed encrusted halibut. Unfortunately it was a tad overdone but not too bad. The flavour and the pumpkin seed crust was very good. The wine list is a bit small but we found a bottle that we liked and it was very reasonable prices. Highly recommended. read more

The service was exceptional. The food was beyond excellent. We made a reservation and came early because we had time and we were accommodated. If you get the chance, definitely come and eat here. read more

Remarkable flavour and exquisite ambiance. We'll be back here again.

We passed by this restaurant when shopping in Jasper and decided to give it a try after reading some other reviews. The braised elk goulash was outstanding as was the elk striploin. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Greedy O'Grady ice cream cake with an Oreo crust with chocolate sauce that was recommend by our waitress was delicious. read more

Fiddle River Restaurant - Elk Goulash with four vegetables. - Seafood Near Me - Jasper, Alberta

the only reason this is getting a 4 instead of a 5 is because my fiancé didn't "LOVE" the appetizer. When we got inside it seemed pretty casual so our expectations might have been lowered a bit. But everything after that was amazing. Food had great portions and excellently prepared. The meal was definitely worth the price. read more

Excellent restaurant. Everything we ordered was tasty. Our favorites were lamb rack, butter chicken and Kennebec fries.

After hiking and seeing just a few of the sights in Jasper we needed to relax & unwind... martinis, oysters, a great red wine special (Baco Noir?!), oysters, halibut, & bison... a great end to a great day! read more

The mussels appetizer was a meal in itself. I had the pork schnitzel. When people say it is huge, it's huge. If you want it you'll definitely have left-overs! Great service, as well. read more

The restaurant smelled of cat food (something like bad fish) out of 3 aps 1 was good, out of 4 main course the only thing thing that was yummy was the steak which there was only one. We spent $80 on two Lobster & Prawn dinners and they both were over cooked, they both stunk, like they were not fresh at all. The 3 aps were 'fresh clams' which all didnt smell or taste fresh it made me wanna vomit. The baby prawns api were ok but no blue ribbon, the ceaser salad with there homemade dressing was dry and tasted like it was sitting on the counteg under a heat lamp for a couple minutes way to long. The only good things were there drinks which we could of gotten at any place with a better bar read more

Fiddle River is conveniently located in downtown Jasper in a second floor space with nice views of town and easy access to parking and other shopping, restaurants, bars amenities. The service was top notch and the food is prepared by people who care about the food and their customers. Everything was delicious. The Smoked Seafood Chowder, Phyllo Arctic Char and the Ceasar Salad were great. We'll be back! read more

What a fantastic dining experience. We made our reservation on line, requesting a window seat and got exactly what we wanted which was the first surprise. Our waiter Line was attentive, friendly and efficient without intruding on our evening. The food was absolutely fantastic. Cooked to perfection, exceptional presentation and very reasonable. I strongly recommend making this restaurant a part of your Jasper experience. read more

Seated quickly but had to ask for window table. My wife had the Red Snapper and declared it delicious and she's a stickler for good fish dishes. I had the New York Steak and also very good. I requested medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were real and done right. The seasonal vegetables were correctly cooked and very good, too. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. Given that all the tables in our area were full, she was exceptional in managing all of this. All in all an excellent meal at a quality restaurant. read more

Awesome food. Wonderful atmosphere. Delightful server. Couldn't ask for more. My salmon was amazing. And my husband's Vienna schnitzel was huge and (he said) delicious. Highly recommend. read more

To be fair, Jasper is not about fine dining. The places we ate were all just okay. Everything about this place was okay, as well - the atmosphere, the service, and the food. Nothing was great, and nothing was terrible. read more

Very good food. My wife had coconut shrimp and a salad and said it was great. I had salmon with coconut rice and was great. Gave them 4 stars as they were out of red fish which is the main reason I picked this restaurant. read more

we really enjoyed this place. It has a cozy "mountain" atmosphere, and nice views out to the mountains. we loved our appetizer called "eat your vegetables" - delicious dish of sauteed veges. our main course (elk meatloaf and elk stew) was good but not amazing. still really enjoyed the warm atmosphere, friendly service, and generally good food. read more

Made a reservation for 4 of us. All had great meals. Snapper, Elk stroganoff, pasta, and schnitzel (only one not fond of the side dish). Wine was nice and service friendly. Only thing is that the town is crazy busy and maybe when the rush is over, they could take a little more time to clean the tables, chairs and restrooms. Would still highly recommend read more

This is a very nice place. We had the salmon and arctic Chad. Both were delicious and the vegetables were great. We recommend it. Joanne, our server was a delight. read more

For the price there are better places to go. Wish we went back to The Raven Bistro which we had eaten at the night before.

One of my favorite restaurants! Had the new York peppercorn steak there and it was delicious! The wifey had salmon and it was cooked just perfect! Loved their pale ale and there almond cheesecake was to die for! only thing was the portion was too small for the price! read more

Came into jasper get gas and wanted some nice food. Had a Cesar salad and then the server left us to dry for almost an hour, my other half could not finish the whole plate so waitress's reasoning was that entres were served when the salad is finished, I suppose it was too difficult to ask. Anyways I had elk meat, it was actually decent with red wine sauce, tender and juicy and it was first time so the texture was interesting in a good way. Other half had red snapper which was served with creamy sauce, it was somehow bitter. When the waitress came to collect the plates she did not bother to ask about the untouched snapper, so talk about service. 39 dollars for elk and 29 for the snapper, with half success dish and cold service, I believe better food can be found in Jasper in both value and taste. read more

Terrific meal to end our getaway weekend! Enjoyed the view by the window and the atmosphere was nice and comfortable. Excellent service! We shared a caesar salad and it was delicious! I had the elk stroganoff and my husband had the NY strip steak and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Having had the salad and bread prior to the entrees we unfortunately had no room left for dessert. Maybe next time as we will definitely go back again on our next visit to Jasper! read more

The first time I went to FR I had the game meatloaf and absolutely loved it. Yesterday I was passing through and stopped in to have it again. When the plate was delivered the meatloaf was unjuicy and uninteresting, making me suspect that it was a re-warm and not freshly made. Sadly the blueberry cornbread was also obviously not fresh -- another suspected re-warm. When I asked the server, she said they only make their meatloaf once every three days due to it being a long, complicated procedure (gee, it's meatloaf, but even if that's true, they could make smaller amounts every day so the food is freshly made -- as you would expect from a restaurant of this class). The server did not offer to get me another entree, nor did she take the meal off the bill. That actually bothered me more than the poor food. Of course, I could have asked for the manger. etc, but this time I elected to never return and spread the word. My recommendation is to by all means have the meatloaf IF AND ONLY IF it was baked that day. read more

Second time there. The service was terrific, food was delicious and the price was just right. We will be back and will tell others.

What a disappointment! I read the reviews before going, but that was not my experience. The service was exceptionally slow and the food was meh....The best thing was the view - luckily I had a window seat. read more

Very nice personal, excellent fish dishes and comfortable seating! We spend a relaxed evening.
