The double hung windows I purchased in 2009, began not properly redirecting the water and instead it was coming down in sheets towards my windows sills. This is August of 2018, nine years later, still under lifetime warranty. Yet when I called the service department at Feldco, they inform me before even allowing me to make an appointment or even telling me that the windows would be replaced that I had to pay either 199 on the day of for a service call or could save $20 and pay on the phone. This was even before telling me what they would be doing for windows that are supposed to be guaranteed for Lifetime. read more

I'm looking for new windows, and one of my neighbors has a Feldco sign in his yard. I saw window installation last week and Feldco trucks in their driveway. I'm so glad I read these reviews prior to having them come to my house for estimate. While it might not seem fair to review them having not used their services, I am basing my review based on the generic responses from the general manager. There doesn't seem to be any genuine concern or sincere apologies for all of the complaints. I mean it's not just a few random bad reviews. Sounds like a consistent pattern, and clearly some poor management running the operation. Someone over there needs to make some changes soon or they will find themselves out of business. read more

Buyer beware. Sales guy was nice and said all the right things but the company didn't back the sales pitch. I needed an exterior door smaller than a standard door and was assured Feldco would customize the door to look symmetrical unlike what I would get at a big box store. I was shown pictures in a catalog to select the door and was told the "customized" door would look exactly like the picture. I bought the door with that expectation but I received a the door with a standard sized window making it too large for my smaller "customized" door. When I contacted Feldco I was informed that "The rendering of the door that we designed in our software program is only approximately how the finished door will look". What?!?! The sales pitch I was given was that being part of the "Feldco family" assures a hassle free experience because they stand behind their products...not so much. When I explained that the window should have been scaled down to the door's customized length and width the customer service solutions I was presented with were to either keep the door or purchase another door. Again...what?!?! When I requested an escalation to management I then received this response, "I received word back from management that we will not absorb the cost of ordering a new door slab". The willingness to create a dissatisfied customer, losing future referrals, and getting this bad review over a reasonable solution request says a lot about the company. Wow! Nothing from this experience distinguishes Feldco from any other door retailer and they are very expensive so I recommend that you get multiple quotes. I think you'll find a better deal. read more

Now that the weather warmed up enough to clean these windows, I found there is a nasty film that you simply can not remove. I've tried everything I've read about cleaning windows to get that off. I noticed in one of my windows, there's a nasty hand print inside the double pane that you can't wash out. I've also discovered rust inside the patio door frame. This winter was a mild winter. I bought these windows to reduce the draft. Guess what, they were just as drafty as the old ones. I really think they should lose their "energy star" rating because of the drafts. Now that the sun is shining again, I get just as much thermal warming as I did before. That was supposed to be reduced as well. I wouldn't buy this crap ever again. I learned my lesson. They may have good prices but you get what you pay for. In this case, it was garbage from the beginning when they missed all of the promise dates, came unprepared to install and pushed everything back until almost winter. If I had any idea they were so terrible, I wouldn't have bought them. I really hope people see this review and walk away from them. read more

Terrible. Signed up for new garage door and garage siding. Installer knocked out an electrical line in garage.Said that he would report and I would get a call. Salesman said he would try to have siding installed at same time. Didn't happen. I started getting weekly phone calls postponing siding installation. Guy said it was due to bad weather even though it was 50 degrees in early December. Finally got a hold of salesman and he said he would get us a price reduction for the inconvenience of waiting. He NEVER called back. After posting negative reviews on their website they sent a guy out to take pictures of my electrical problem in garage. The guy took pics of outlets and never flipped a switch . After waiting 2 months I finally got a call. The rep said "I'm not an electrician but I can tell from the pictures it's not our responsibility" HE must be a genius !!! He can tell from a picture if electric is working or not. Just another case of a company trying to scam a senior citizen. Shame on them. read more

They just lost my business because they have the completely ridiculous and sexist policy that they won't come out to give me an estimate unless my husband is present, and won't make exceptions to that policy. My husband works very long hours and travels often so I'm the one doing all the work for our move into our new home. Why is that a problem? (Later, after I wrote this, I did receive a call from a manager telling me they may be willing to make an exception (as if they were doing me a big favor). By that point, I had contacted two other window companies to get estimates and both of them realized that a woman can make decisions about the home without her husband, so I'll be using one of them) read more

I don't know how anyone gives these people business. I had them come out to quote my windows. Quote was $21,000 with there super free installation deal. I asked salesman to email me the quote. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had with anyone coming to my home. I called Feldco because I needed a new door for the inside of my garage (not the big door). The guy who showed up took a look at the broken door and said that I really needed a new one and it was a good thing that I called when I did because it was 30% off day. He started to look through a giant book to get me a price and began making chit chat. He told me that my 3 year old son doesn't look like me and implied that my son's actions were not to his liking. He asked me direct questions about my heritage and my husband's heritage. He asked me what my husband does for a living and asked me exactly where he works. He told me how easy it was to break into my house and gave a play by play of exactly how he would do it, and said I need to buy this feldco door for "safety and security." He then said that the door I have on is illegal and I shouldn't have been able to buy the house with it and I won't be able to sell the house with it. So Literally about 2 hours later, he came to a price of $3,400.00 and gave me a 20% discount, apparently he forgot that it was "30% discount day." I was fuming at this point, but I didn't want to be rude and I told him that I had to talk to my husband. He got irritated with me, as if I was the one who wasting HIS time and asked very rudely why he wasn't even there. Then he sat there. I got up and he didn't take my lead, I stared at him for a minute (like what are you doing) and he just sat there. I literally had to tell the guy to get out of my house, This Feldco experience was the absolute worst. read more

A lifetime warranty shouldn't require paying $179 for someone to come out and 'assess' broken parts. Yet that's what Feldco insists on. The u-shaped holders that my Feldco windows ride on in the window frames have been breaking. No surprise, because they're made of cheaply cast 'pot metal' instead of solid metal. When I called to ask for replacement inserts, they insisted that a technician needed to come out to 'assess the situation' and make any repairs. Of course they want $179 payment over the phone, or $199 in person for someone to come out and see that, yes, the parts are broken, and pop in new inserts. I suppose they've never heard of digital pictures. Very, very, disappointed, but I guess they've got to pay for all those TV commercials somehow. read more

I am not sure which Feldo our sales rep is out of: *sigh* We ordered a garden window for our kitchen and paid the deposit 08/04/15. We finally had an install date, so we broke down our kitchen. Feldco came by 10/12/15 to install it. They did not show me the window, so I didn't know what it looked like until it was installed. When we went outside to see the window, it was the wrong color! Told the installers it was supposed to be bronze & showed them my contract stating it was supposed to be bronze. The installer showed me the work order stating the outside was white. We told him that that was incorrect & we ordered bronze. I still had to pay the balance due, which we did, but I stated on the paperwork we received the wrong window . We also noticed the header piece on the garden window was already coming down when the installers left (pic taken) We contacted our sales rep & he confirmed that the wrong window was indeed installed. So, now they will have to come back to install the proper window. We finally were scheduled for the new window to be installed 11/20/15. So broke down my kitchen AGAIN. Feldco was off to a bad start as they gouged my stamped & stained driveway while trying to back up my driveway (pic taken), told them this was a problem. Now they unpacked the new window for me to see, and the color was correct this time, The installer wanted me to see the window, and guess what- there are scratches all over it! We refused this window. So now we will have to put our kitchen back together & wait for window #3!!!!!! A window that we have paid in full for, and were expecting to have done by the holidays- that is obviously not going to happen! We have a message into our sales rep as I write this review. As for the driveway- not sure how that is going to be fixed 1) because snow is due to fall tonight, 2) the driveway is stamped & stained, so I have no idea how that can be fixed! We are NOT happy right now!!!!!!!!! read more

The worst experience ever starting from the rude customer service agent over the phone then ending with product specialist named Gary Kos. It started by telling him that I am getting quotes from him and from another small business and I was asking why his company got bad reviews. Guess what was his response! It was "What am I doing here?" I responded that I would go with a bigger company even if the price is little higher for the warranty and the services. Later, he started asking about how I bought the house then he decided to tell me that I am not the owner of the house which means that I am lying to him. I explained to him that I don't have to proof that I am not lying yet, I showed him a deed which he cared less looking at. Then he offered me the catalog but at that point I knew as well as he did that it was already over and that we won't do business together. He handed the catalog and left. I have a zero tolerance for disrespect even if they were going to install the windows for free I wouldn't have accepted that. Horrible product specialist. read more

They installed 24 windows at my house. The price was right. The installers did a good job. There were some window trims that needed to be readjusted and it was done within 2 weeks or so. I am satisfied with the work it's impossible to find a company that will be perfect but overall I'm happy and satisfied with the work that's was done. Its been over 1 year since they installed and everything works good. The windows made it through the cold winter season we had in Chicago with no problem. read more

Poor service, lying salesman and supervisors who support their staff- they do not stand behind their customers. National Advertising helps them survive, not customer service. Do yourself a favor and find a local window and door company who takes pride in good service and a quality product, you will not get it with these guys. Certainly, one poor review can be due to one bad experience, but are all these reviews wrong? This is an example of how not to run a business. read more

I am frustrated for the same reason as another reviewer. I can't even get an appointment unless my husband is there also. What, I can't make house decisions by myself? I make money too. I asked to speak to the manager who 'is in a meeting'...sure...and was supposed to call me back. Sorry to say, no change in policy - no exceptions. However, I can take the window measurements myself, drive to the showroom with those measurements and order the window there. What happened to customer service?? Needless to say, I won't even be getting an estimate from Feldco. But by the looks of most of the reviews, I may be better off. read more

Bought 2 small front windows and a huge sliding door for our condo due to a heavy draft coming from the original/external (1998) doors in our bedroom. The salesman gave us the 45 minute presentation about how great the windows/doors are, etc. Fine. I get it. He finished his presentation, asked for 5 minutes to work up a quote, and wrote down a price on a piece of paper. Too high. Negotiate for a cheaper price. I didn't go low enough. Paid $5K. Why did I pay too much? Because the sliding door we had installed in our bedroom is as if there's NO DOOR THERE AT ALL. We had a thermal inspection done of our home to find out why our bedroom is so cold and the inspector showed me the thermal imaging. The culprit? The Feldco sliding door. It was 36 degrees outside and the thermal camera showed a 36 degree reading inside the door - NOT where there should be caulk around the window or around the door frame, but the readout came from just above the bottom of the door frame inside the window. Point being - these windows are NOT going to give you any level of heat/AC protection. It won't keep the heat in and it won't keep the cold out. Shop elsewhere. We'll need to replace this Feldco door ASAP, as we cannot continue to use a space heater for 10 hours a night because this window isn't worth the vinyl it's made from. read more

The window installation itself was aright, no issues with the quality of Windows we purchased but an issue lies in their cleanup. To begin with, the installers had dropped a window pane in our backyard that shattered in the grass. We have three dogs and not a very large yard, this was a huge issue for us. The installers did attempt to clean it up, but we still had to go out there ourselves with a shop vacuum because we were able to find glass after their "cleanup". The next problem was with our driveway. The installers attempted to sweep the driveway as well, but the driveway was not an area we double checked to make sure it was entirely cleared. The very next morning, I had a flat tire. I pulled the nail out of the tire and compared it to the other ones I found on my driveway, and sure enough the nail came from my windows. We had spoke with many people to get compensated for it but apparently, it's just a coincidence that this happened after their terrible cleanup. They refused to compensate us for it. Will not use feldco for their services again. *update* Spoke with a multitude of feldco employee's and their solution for a $300 mistake of theirs was to offer us a $200 credit for a future project after telling us to "read the fine print". read more

Feldco is very expensive but the quality and work is top notch. We were told a crew would come out to install our screen doors and it would take a few hours to do the job. One guy installed both doors and took almost 8 hours to do so. It wasn't his fault, he should have had help. read more

I've been meaning to write a review of Feldco since we had our second round of windows installed by them in October, but this cold snap made me truly appreciate the quality of their product, and pushed me to finally get down to it. There is a reason this is our second round of window replacement with Feldco- their product is clearly outstanding, but the service that comes with it matches. Our salesguy Kyle was knowledgeable, friendly, and able to work with us on our budget. No, windows are not cheap, but since there's no middleman here, Feldco is definitely reasonably priced and worth the investment. The process was even quicker this time around, with our custom-fitted windows ready to be installed within a couple weeks of our signing the purchase agreement. The installers were professional and did a fantastic job making sure everything was in correctly, and we are now reaping the benefits of having excellent windows keeping out the elements. When we are ready to do the next round of replacements, Feldco will be the only company we call- again. read more

We've used Feldco a couple of times and liked their sales people and their windows. However, a latch on a window broke (totally our fault). It's a simple part to replace, just two screws to take it out. We called to get a replacement part on August 28th. They said they would call back. We called again last week, again were told they would call back. It's the 16th of September and we still haven't been called back so I called again today. They have record of our calls, but I'm being told that the part has to be ordered. Also, there was no one that was able to talk to me today about it. I have no idea why it wasn't ordered the first two times and why they have no one on staff that can talk to customers about parts (this was the case the other 2 times that we called as well). Good windows, just hope that you don't need parts for them. read more

I did a lot of researching when replacing my front entry door. From searching big box stores to companies, I want the best quality for my money. I decided to go with Feldco, BIG MISTAKE! I've had nothing but trouble with my doors from day 1. I had the entry door replaced and also purchased a storm door. My doors are beautiful, but that's as far as it goes! My first instance was when the installer finished the work. The entry door was hard to close and lock was hard to turn, which he insisted was supposed to be that was because the door was "air tight". Fast forward 2 weeks, I was out of town and my granddaughter couldn't get in the house after school because the lock was stuck! I had to call feldco several times and get enraged in order for them send someone out to my house immediately. They initially told me.someone will be out DAYS later! I had to constantly repeat the exact words the rep was telling me in order for them to hear and understand how foolish they sound by saying it's OK for anyone to locked out of their home for any amount of time! Either that, or they knew mybissue was going to be escalated even higher than the manager I spoke with. Since then, I have problems with my screen door slamming when closing, or the reverse, flying back when opened. My entry door knob is loose. The lock on the storm door sticks. The supposedly air tight/air sealed storm door has visible gaps in it. This is the biggest and most expensive mistake. Going with a company that's been around for a long time doesn't necessarily mean they produce quality. Current day, I called feldco to come out to address the many many issues and I have to okay an additional $79-$99 for the poor quality product and service I received from them! But, the Feldco rep insist the doors which are warrantied are free repairs! Any time I have to come out of pocket service is NOT FREE! This isn't due to neglence done by the household, these are issues with your product! Poor quality and poor installation! Yet, in order for Feldco to address the issue, you must Pay! I have definitely learned from my mistake, I'm hoping I can save someone from making the same costly mistake as I have! Hope this review helps when deciding on your next home improvement purchase. read more

We were shopping for a replacement garage door - nothing truly wrong with the current except it's most likely the original from 1986 and we want to upgrade. We had a few estimates already and while reviewing info online saw that Feldco had a $1 install promotion so I filled out the online form and I swear it seemed like I clicked submit and the phone rang right after! I almost didn't answer since no name showed - it was just the number shown on the caller id. It was Feldco and they asked a few questions - which I thought I had answered on the web form - but meh. So the guy came out, took measurements and started calculating what it would cost us - left arm, right leg, first born, etc... Well it wasn't that bad, but it was much higher than anticipated considering we already had a few estimates for the same garage door. I was surprised even with a 30% off promotion that the door was so much more that the other estimates we had received. I was also surprised that he never mention the garage door opener since everyone else said they could not use that opener since it didn't have the "eyes" (sensors for objects in the path of the door). Maybe it was better because who knows what they would charge for that. The rep didn't want to leave, I thought we were going to have to prepare a room for him! I understand that's your job and you make money by getting people to sign a contract but we clearly were not sold. It's not that I mind paying for quality, but when you are selling what everyone else is selling and then try to tell me it's because I'm dealing with Feldco, a known and trusted company, and that's why it costs more - well I've had my door and opener since I lived there and it looks like the original door and opener and I have no idea who installed it but I've never had reason to care, so... Eventually he gave up and left but not before a last ditch effort to compare the other doors we had estimates on to the one we would get from Feldco. This was after the stories about other customers that had gone with someone other than Feldco and within 2 years (which seemed to be the death of anything that is not "Feldco" installed) they had to have Feldco come out and save them. Then there was the story of guitar buying and the difference in price due to the difference in quality - yes I get that. But this is a garage door, both made of same gauge steel, both use same material for insulation, both have similar warranties so the difference to me just seems to be who gets to install it and haul away my money. So if you like story-telling time and have about 1 to 1.5 hours to kill, get an estimate from Feldco. As for me, I'll probably be back here in 2 years if the stories are true to say "I should have gone with Feldco!" Feldco probably has good products, but I am quickly turned off when someone gives an estimate and then want's me to order right after. read more

I bought a house full of windows with a life time warrantee with this company about 14 years ago. The main reason I went with Feldco is the life time warrantee. I have all the original paperwork and contract. When a called to ask about their warrantee they were very cocky and rude. According to their Service Manager the new owners of Feldco do not cover the warrantee. I have had locks crack off and a few glasses brake from poor installation. I had to take off some of the windows because they took off insulation and never installed the insulation back around the windows. I made a huge mistake when I went with this company. I would avoid this company and go with a more reputable outfit. read more

Hi, Nice guy, but not very helpful when it comes to saving the customers money. We got an estimate of $3,000 from another door installer in Alsip, IL on these three (3) doors.' Feldco's estimate was over $3,500 -- so where is the $1 installation fee as advertised? We asked for a better price under $3K and he told us $2,995.00. $5???? Are you kidding!! That is a slap in the face and an insult to my intelligence. I got up and walked away as that was ridiculous how I was treated. He had a book and I could not even see the door choices as it was upsidedown and sideways and it was basically drawn on an IPad and even though he had a whole bag of choices, I was not given many (any) choices. He was on the front porch and held the IPad -- so I couldn't see anything that I was "buying." It was not a very professional estimate at all. But at least I didn't have to pay for this estimate. Looking back at it, if you want to be amused and entertained, call them! I wanted the cheapest and if that is the cheapest -- I'd hate to see what the more expensive ones are. To say I was highly disappointed is an understatement. I feel I wasted MY VALUABLE time on this fiasco. All in all, a huge waste of time -- but NOT my money. Ha ha FELDCO -- your lost for your slap in my face treatment of a potential PAYING CUSTOMER!!! read more

installation was a nightmare. two guys, one spoke only the most basic English...the other not a word...arrived and ripped out the frames for the old windows before noticing that they had brought the incorrect color windows. Since the office was closed, it was the beginning of a holiday and I now had the entire floor of the house windowless in winter there was no choice but to let them finish up. Never received as much as an apology from the "sales" end of these people. Now a couple of years later I find that the frames they put in have gaps and there are gaps between the frames and the house. These gaps are enough for insects to fly through.....nice insulation job. read more

I had, without question, the least customer friendly experiences i have ever had in my life with Feldco. They demanded (they said "request") that my wife be home for a free estimate of attic insulation. I told them that wouldn't work for us as we work opposite schedules. I talked with two different customer service reps who both absolutely refused to send someone. Only after writing an email did they agree to send someone out. I accepted but had absolutely no intention of doing business with a company that I had to fight to give my money to. Plus, they were double what Home Depot charged me for the same thing. read more

If zero stars were available, that's how I would rate Feldco. Our experience with this company has been months of lies and excuses. Ordered several windows in the summer only to have the install continuously pushed back to different dates. We started with a September install only to be pushed back monthly. We were guaranteed an install date in November. I called a few days in advance to double check as we had heard nothing for weeks from Feldco. The customer service rep, April, claimed her system was down and couldn't check any install dates. She was extremely rude and seemed rushed to get off the phone. She claimed that if a specific date/time were scheduled, they would be there. When that day came around, we received a call stating they were coming out but couldn't find our products and didn't know where they are. Their excuse is always Covid shut downs. They also claim they have no way to contact the out of state manufacturer because they can never get through. We were able to reach the manufacturer with no issues. They were confused as to why Feldco would schedule install dates when our custom windows were not available. After several more reschedules and calls, we have cancelled our order and requested a full refund. April (service rep) and John (manager) are the main reasons we decided to cancel. These are two of the rudest, most unprofessional people that lack major communication and customer service skills. April doesn't have a clue what's going on and just gives any answer she can to get off the phone. John did nothing but argue, yell, and use profane language. read more

UPDATE 11-11-16; Thank you to Patty in customer service, Vince in sales, and David the service technician, they were able to resolve my issues. What happened to me below, I believe could have been an oversight that simply happened, and is now resolved. The product and service of Feldco are back to being as I remembered them when I purchased my windows almost 20 years ago. (EXCELLENT) Thank you. Terrible Service! They're all happy and nice to you when you buy, but when you need service for replacing their over priced low quality windows, they want nothing to do with you! I have had to call 5 separate times this week to schedule a service visit, and all I get is the run around! Leaving voicemail messages each time, no one there is able to schedule a service appointment, so they pass you to a "supervisor" to leave them a voice message. If your considering buying products from Feldco, I would suggest not doing business with them, they are unethical, and show no integrity when it comes to service and follow up. read more

Absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced. Had an appointment for a window quote at 5:30pm for one of my rentals. I arrived at 5:28pm only to be told by my tenant the salesperson left 20 mins ago. I made it clear during the appointment phone call I was the landlord and would be at the property. I even asked that the salesperson call when they were on their way. No phone and they didn't even wait to the appointment time to meet with me. I called customer service at 5:32pm to inquire why the salesperson came and left early. The phone agent immediately tried to blame me but after looking into it said a supervisor would call me the next day. No one called. When I called back the next day to see if a quote was even done I got the runaround from another rude customer service agent. Finally I was connected to the salesperson who did the visit. He accused me of lying about not being at the property saying he was there at 530 and I wasn't. Again the most unprofessional company I have dealt with. I finally did receive a emailed quote and it was $2150 vs Window Worlds $1242. read more

Wish I'd seen some reviews before I used them. I got a storm door and the entire process was messed up. They did permanent damage to the main part of my house. Took them months to reinstall the door.
