I had Thermalcraft install windows, which was great, but also ordered double screen doors to be installed at the same time. Due to the size of the doors they needed to be custom ordered. Because the doors weren't closing correctly the strike plate on the doors needed to be removed, which is an eyesore in itself. But the doors still don't fit correctly. The handle hits the other door every time I close it, and the door doesn't close by itself- so I need to pull it every time I close it. It has made a mark on the side of the door because the handle rubs on the door. I called them back out and they "fixed it" and said that is the best they could do. Which I'm still having the issues listed above. I wish they would have said that they don't do custom doors and I would have ordered from another dealer. So I will now likely need to replace the doors in a couple years again. read more

In the end it didn't make sense for the company to do the work, but I appreciated his honesty and taking the time to answer my questions. I called to see if I could change my appointment time 1 hour later and he said 12 noon was too late for him cause he needed to go home and get ready for a vacation he was taking 5 days later. Very rude customer service. An employee came out to measure some windows. Let's start with the fact that he parks while facing the wrong way on my street & also blocks my driveway & mailbox. I don't think that I have to say that this is both dangerous & illegal, but I will. While in my house, he tells me that my 2 windows are different sizes. Now, I'm blind in one eye so I don't always see things correctly. He turns & says, "they're not the same. It's not an illusion." Well no shit. So we finish the walk through & head outside to check the window wraps. He seemed confused as to what I wanted to be done & says he will have to have someone else call me. So he gives me a quote so I ask for a written estimate. Go figure, he doesn't have paper to give me a written estimate. How do you show up to an appointment & not have paper for a written estimate?? I call to complain about his unprofessionalism when the woman on the phone simply says, "he's been doing it for 30 years." I'm not sure what that means or how it gives him a pass to be unprofessional so I'll let you all figure that out. Needless to say, I'll be going with a different company. read more

Made all the arrangement to have someone come out and gives us a quote, made several phone calls back and forth to set it all up, didn't get a confirmation so I called 10 minutes to our appointment. We had all of our windows replaced over the last few years by Thermalcraft. Barry came out each and every time to measure and make sure everything was accurate. The windows are very nice quality. We had an issue a few years back - thought it was the window but it was actually the wood trim above the window. Here's what we liked about our Thermalcraft project (four doors and two windows): * The actual doors and windows are of higher quality than we expected * Both storm and standard doors open and close super easily and don't let any air through. I noticed the furnace going off less frequently the day the doors were installed. * The guys installing (Pete and Dave) were really experienced and knew what to do with our threshholds...they adjusted for the home settling over 60+ years * Noone pressured us to buy from them and they weren't sales pitchy. The work stands on its own. * We've done two significant projects with Thermalcraft over two decades (first was new windows throughout home) and nothing has changed, quality-wise * Thermalcraft has custom paint options for their doors. We chose a black door for looks and while it costs a little bit more than painting it yourself, the quality of the paint job/materials used seems high and the finish is butter smooth * The staff is more laid back and less about marketing than doing great work Very few downsides to the project. Maybe a little bit of debris forgotten outside afterwards but I'm nitpicking here. Great job...the results were great and price was fair for the quality delivered. read more

This was first time door replacement on our 1954 home that we bought 4 years ago. I did not know the doors can be so expensive. I had multiple companies come out and do the estimates. Chose Thermalcraft because of the competitive bid and raving reviews. I was kind of bummed of the long wait. I got the quote on 9/13/16 and got the door installed 12/06/16 - almost 3 months - but all of the companies told about the same timeline. Dave and other man arrived and had some concerns about the pipe overhanging the door frame - it looked very challenging, but they assured me that they will make it work as they have been doing door installs for years. I stayed home and was able to peak at the progress here and there and 4 hours later our new basement door was installed and trimmed. Crew even made custom trim on the inside of the unfinished basement. Despite the challenges, crew finished the job and made everything work. Cleaned up after themselves and handed me the keys. They carry good quality vinyl windows and fiberglass doors. The installers work efficiently and do good work. Windows are price competitive. Doors seem a bit pricier. The doors took about 8-9 weeks to get from the manufacturer. I'll need some more windows soon and will probably go with these guys again. read more

I can say nothing but great things about Thermalcraft from their initial consulting on our windows to their completion of multiple projects. Barry initially came into our house (very old) and actually mentioned that many of the windows in our house did not require a replacement--they were good windows. He did however mention that he could account for the installation of the windows which may have been the issue. Our windows were leaking profusely and they let in so much cold air that we felt they were worthless. We decided to replace our kitchen windows and utility room window. Great Price. Awesome product and installation. We later replaced our living room bay window and a sliding patio door. Upon the removal of the window they found that the old frame around the window was rotted and in extremely poor condition. The same was said about the drywall under the window. We have lived in this house for 2 years and the rot appeared to be over 4 years at least. They were able to pull out the wood by hand--a horrible cover-up and very dishonest from the former owner. Thermalcraft re-framed the window and patio door and again it was a great product. Something to also note, they recommended that we leave the house while they worked which was great. I came back to a house that was completed "tarped". Thank you for going the extra mile. They also cleaned the area thoroughly. A great family business and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

The guy also turned out to be a jerk personality-wise as he made some comments about the awnings on my house being "ugly". His opinion had not been asked for on the topic. Barry is very nice guy to talk with.But after 4 windows had been installed; all of them can't remove for cleaning.I kept calling Barry and finally a service guy come to my house to check and said all 4 windows are bad and need to reorder from factory; he said he will come back for two weeks to replace them. We have one massive picture window in the front and had two new windows installed in our nursery. We were on a time crunch as our picture window had shattered one day from old age and I was already 7 months pregnant. I was hoping they would be done before our baby was born. They were swift with ordering the windows. On the day of installation of the windows, two men took about 5 hours from the time of arrival to finish the job. They were pleasant and respectful of our home. The windows are beautiful and give our house a nice update look with the ability to give us fresh air (something we didn't have before!)
