I am a homeowner in McHenry County in the village of Trout Valley. On August 16 my house was hit by a significant storm that ripped through our neighborhood and caused significant damage to my roof and property. I am insured with State Farm and after talking with MANY roofing contactors I chose Brandon Chick and Culture Construction to reperesent me and boy am I glad I did. Brandon was the ONLY contactor that I felt knew roofing and how to professionally work with my insurance company. State Farm and Brandon worked together to accurately and professionally process my claim. Within a week Brandon had approval for replacing my damaged roof and, within a few days Brandon's Culture Construction team intalled my new roof. The installation team was not just good but GREAT. In one day my new roof was installed. Brandon was also onsite for the installation to ensure things were done correctly. I am 72 years old and I never have been more pleased with the entire process and the final results that was dellivered. Incredibly disappointed with this company. Stay far, far away. My husband and I were excited to support a veteran-owned operation and have been met with nothing but failures to communicate on both the sales and management levels. We have been told numerous times that someone from the company would be calling us and those calls never came. We were told our roof was delayed because they were waiting on a permit from the village....we then learned that this work was classified as emergency storm work and didn't even require a permit at all. We were told we would receive a link to software to help us pick shingle colors. That link was never sent. We are understanding of delays due to storms and hot weather, but again, we were never communicated with about these things. We were told that our roof was scheduled for 6/30 so my husband took the day off of work. The crew never showed and it was only until we reached out to Culture Construction that we were told it was too hot for the crews to work. Not a problem- we don't want workers out in dangerous conditions, but we DO expect this to be proactively relayed to us. We were told we would be receiving a call from the owner today. You guessed it- that call never came. What a waste of time the past 3 months have been with this company. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! My mother recently used this company and it has been headache after headache. Culture began work on her roof in OCTOBER 2025 and as of today 6/16/26, they have NOT finished. They are so unprofessional, making appointments and not showing up when expected. Promising over and over again that they will fix it "this week". It's been "this week" since February. Left materials all over the front yard and came back to get them in the middle of the night (really, guys? How smarmy.) Unfortunately, my mom was assured that they would come back and fix all of their construction errors, clean up the mess that's been in her yard for MONTHS and finally finish with the detailing. My mom paid on good faith and now they've disappeared. We are reporting them to the BBB and trying to get the word out as much as possible that this company is not worth the headaches. Listen to the 1-star reviews -- save yourself time, stress and money and literally go with ANYONE else. read more

we don't have our roof put on yet and I'm feeling really bad about this company. they have scheduled so many appointments with us and not shown up. they get your deposit and then just string you along. they get you to sign a contract and and don't show up. not a very good way to do business. read more

Cary was recently hit by a bad hail storm left several homes damaged.I met up with Fabian from Culture Construction very professional, knowledgeable and kind! What impressed me most he presented to my home with proper ID required by the village of Cary.The crew did an excellent job on my roof! They were very respectful, kind and very tidy! Sloppy work, left mess on my driveway after working on neighbors house, rude owners who don't care about the mess.

So I met with Donna from Culture as she had done a post-hail home review for my brother and he was impressed with all that she identified as issues and promised they would get the insurance company to cover. So, as a referral from my brother, I also requested a review of my home to see if I may have experienced damage from recent hail storms. Donna was an enthusiastic and true salesperson. As she looked up to the roof with me, she pointed out various "shiny spots" where the asphalt granules were missing from hail hitting my roof. I couldn't see what she saw, but as she positioned herself as the expert I believed she was seeing hail damage, as I am not a roofer nor a roof inspector. We walked around the house and she pointed out a crimp in a gutter downspout. She said that while that looked like a crimp it was actually hail damage. I questioned that one in my mind but again, she was the expert so I figured she knew what she was talking about. And if she could convince me, her team could surely explain this to my insurance company, right? She then looked at my windows which were recently installed. She focused on the aluminum wrap and told me it was all dinged up. I didn't see anything and when I questioned her, she had me run my fingers along a section of aluminum wrap and pointed out micro-indentions you needed to feel but couldn't really see. "That's hail damage too", she explained. Last, she reviewed my newer garage door. Again, I couldn't see the indentations that she saw but she claimed her rep would bring a "special light" when meeting my insurance adjuster and that would make them "pop". It all sounded great. She wrote up my claim items as a new roof, new gutters and downspouts, new window wraps, and a new garage door. All these items she enthusiastically claimed were hail-damaged and clear to her. I signed the agreement and she called my insurance company with me (I guess that is the value add) and we filed the claim. She was very specific that I needed to get the adjuster's name, cell phone, date, and time of inspection because they needed to be here ahead of time with "ladders up". When my insurance company called and provided me with the information for the inspection for a couple of weeks in the future, I immediately sent the "critical" information to Donna. I wanted to make sure I followed her instructions and gave them enough time to schedule a meeting with my insurance company's adjuster. The Saturday morning of the appointment, my wife stayed home from our son's basketball game to meet the person from Culture before the insurance adjuster showed up. When I texted her to see how things were going, she said that the insurance guy was here but no one from Culture. So no rep, no ladders up, and no one to support and identify all the "imperfections" that Donna saw. I texted Donna to see what was going on. Her texts back were short and snippy. She said the guy from their company got tied up at a previous appointment and no one was coming. The insurance adjuster laughed and told my wife, that no one ever shows up for these inspections (I assume he didn't mean from Culture specifically). In the end, my insurance company didn't find my roof needed to be replaced, nor my gutters and downspouts, nor my window wrap, nor my garage door. In the end, they found about $800 in "other" repairs which was well below my deductible. So while the "sales" experience was great, I believed that hail had damaged all the parts of my home the expert pointed out, in the end, either the assessment of what was damaged was wrong or the lack of a company representative being here to walk the adjuster through exactly what they saw resulted in a total waste of everyone's time. The lack of follow-through with a company representative being onsite is my biggest complaint, and I will never know if they could have assisted with the assessment of my home. If my insurance company said all those things were in good shape (I'm sure they weren't in a hurry to replace all those items) then either they were or they weren't but the person I expected to be here to assess this with my adjuster never showed, so I will never know. Until the next hail storm that is, and then I will be more guarded against companies that claim to represent me for a claim. I know that after hail storms areas get inundated by out-of-state "storm chasers" but this being a local company and touted as veteran-owned is what made me want to work with them. However, I now regret that decision. read more

At first, I was skeptical if this could actually work I've heard so many times in the past that companies always fail. So initially I had a partial approval and then Culture sales rep Brian Harris helped win the claim over for me with his team he said was working in the background and they got my Roof fully approved and my gutters and my and almost everything else . they are the real deal ! read more
