My roof was thoroughly inspected and I was given optional package estimates that included gutters and skylights. Also Feze Roofing showed me sample shingle displays that I could place next to my house to get a true picture of how it complemented the brick facing. Working with Feze was easy and stress-free. Rich showed up for the initial assessment right on schedule. He thoroughly inspected the entire roof then gave a clear explanation of our options. Feze's estimated cost was lower than 3 other contractors. A few weeks later on the agreed-upon date, Jack and his crew arrived as scheduled early in the morning. The crew completed the removal of the old roof and installation of the new roof in one day. Jack climbed up on the roof for a final inspection. The crew did a thorough job cleaning up. There was no damage to our gutters and shrubs. The final cost matched the initial estimate--there were no surprises. Most important, our new roof looks beautiful! Extremely overdue review but well deserved: Last winter wind damaged my roof and it needed shingles replaced. My insurance company assigned the work to Perfection Property Restoration DBA "First Onsite." There were serious problems with their competency and management which you can see in my seperate review. Feze looked at the same problem, correctly diagnosed it, noticed related problems that First Onsite overlooked or ignored which made a simple shingle replacement unworkable. Truly a great company! They were responsive, quick to bid, and professional while working. They dropped off the shingles on Saturday. On Monday, promptly at 7 they were at our house. We had a badly leaking dormer due to some poor quality work done by another roofing company. I won't name names but the other company starts with L and ends in M. They never flashed it properly when they installed the copper portion of the roof. Nick from Feze came out to provide an estimate. They weren't the least expensive but I've used Feze for some minor work in the past and they did a good job. His crew of 3-4 came out and replaced some siding, asphalt shingles, and properly flashed the area. It was a full day job. They did the work in early November. We've had some heavy rainfall since and so far so good. read more

Had our roof done. We had three proposals from local businesses - Feze provided the most complete and informative proposal. They answered all our questions. They were not the least expensive but not the most expensive- however we felt most comfortable with them. On the day of our project, they covered all our landscaping and outdoor items to be sure there was no damage. They spent all day and did a good job. In the end, they cleaned up the materials. The gentleman came to pick up the dumpster ( it's on a trailer) by 9pm. Our roof looks much better. We are pleased with them. read more

I used Feze Roofing to put new ridge caps on our roof to get a few more years out of it. Birds and critters tend to hang out and chew up the ridges. Very responsive both on original estimate and when turning up to do the work. We had to wait for the weather to warm up before proceeding but their inspection showed no damage spot cause for concern. They were also very helpful over the phone when a section of the roof suddenly buckled in December - very reassuring to talk to a seasoned roofer with over 25 years experience to understand what was going on. Quick work, good team, knew what they were doing. Cleaned up well after the tear off. Fixed a few popped nails while they were up there. No doubt I'll call them when I finally need a roof replacement. read more

I used them for a new roof 8 years age so I called when I had some single damage from a tree falling after a storm. After my initial call, it was difficult to contact an estimator. Once a very high estimate was given, I could not get a detailed explanation of the work to be done. The work was done in a quarter of the time estimated, but no explanation as to why there was a significant discrepancy. Initial call to final bill took about 2 months. In summary, average work, poor service and communication, and high prices. read more

Feze is extremely honest, reliable, quick and professional. I recently purchased a home and the the roof had some buckled boards. When I rec'd a quote from the roofer the seller used (Chicago Roofing Services, Bob Ely), they quoted me $1900 to fix it. Feze quoted the same job at $475. They fixed it correctly, quickly and were extremely professisonal. I would (and already have) recommneded Feze Roofing to anyone. I can't say the same for Chicago Roofing Services. read more

I had some shingles on my roof that needed replacing. I always saw Feze's building on West Ave. and wanted to support local businesses. They came out, provided a written quote, did the work timely, cleaned up after themselves, and invoiced us after the work was done. All these positives are where it ends. Within a few months, we had a very windy day and the wind literally blew off all the new shingles. The only part of the roof that lost shingles was the area where Feze did the work. The rest of my large roof had no issues and no shingles missing. Soooo, back to finding a roofer. read more

Trust. When you engage a doctor, a roofer, or any other specialist, isn't that the key credential? We trust Feze because of its absolute honesty. We thought we needed a new roof and asked for a bid; after an inspection, we were told to call back in 5 to 10 years because the Feze roof from 15 years ago was still good and needed only a few popped nails around the dormers resealed. My elderly grandma had a roof leak and Feze came out and gave an inspection. They told her what needed to be done, charged her for it and never came out to do the work. Would not recommend this company if they're going to take advantage of the elderly. read more

Feze was recommended by a coworker to repair some wind damage our roof suffered this fall. We were initially going to go with a bigger name company out of Evanston, but we decided to call Feze and get a quote. The ladies there were super helpful and very friendly, and ultimately we chose to give them a shot. The work was finished a half a day early and they did a fantastic job, you'd never know that the roof was ever damaged in the first place. Pam even offered 5% off the total AFTER the job was done just for being a first-time referral customer - much appreciated. We just had them replace the flat roof on our building and make some soffit repairs. The quotes were very fair compared to other contractors and their crews were nice to work with. They cleaned up well every day after work and we had very few complaints from residents in our condo building. read more

I read your response to my review, however we had several other contractors come out to give us estimates and they all walked the roof. Could have at least send us a letter stating you wish not to quote and state your reasons instead of no response. Again I do not recommend doing business with this company. read more

This is 3rd time I have used Feze; 1st two were great. Third time asked they redo flat roof. First big rain it leaked. Called (weekend) and left message; did not hear and called again. Everyone was out for "training". D**** came about 9-10 days after 1st call; everything about roof was fine and got a CYA talk. Had contractor come next day, found defect on room and patched. Feze has changed. Apparently do not care after work done if it leaks; D**** either missed spot or ignored it. Two takeaways: Feze does not care about "after care" and I cannot trust them. Will recommend against using them. D***** never did send us the pictures he said he took of the roof. read more

This company is very unresponsive and frustrating. I had a leak in the roof last fall and also wanted an estimate for a whole roof replacement. One of their guys came, got on the roof, took pictures. Told me I will have an estimate before Thanksgiving and that they would still be able to take care of the leak repair before the winter (with full roof replacement after winter). I also asked him to send me pictures he took. After I did not hear back for over 2 weeks I called the office. They said they would get the estimate to me that day. Still no estimate. I called several days later, they said they never got info from the guy to do the estimate. In total I called 5 or 6 more times. With the last call the guy who came to look at the roof (I forgot his name) called back and said I will have the estimate that day. I also asked him to send me the roof pictures (again). Never got the estimate nor roof pictures. I mean if they are that hard to do business with BEFORE they even get my business, imagine trying to get hold of them after they do the work and there are issues. Very frustrating and what a waste of customer's time. read more

I have dealt with 6 roofing contractors- to date..... in order to procure estimates to replace a roof on my residence- So far, Feze Roofing, - outshines the rest !! Pam, who was my first contact, was not only helpful, knowledgeable, informed me of possible warranty coverage from faulty Certainteed products, was kind & everything, a customer could ask for when seeking a professional contractor for a BIG ticket repair- I await the estimator- and will repost- BUT- in a shabby customer service world- FEZE ROOFING.... is a rare gem of quality- of professionalism !! read more

Very disappointed. We needed our porch roof replaced, and requested a quote. We received a quote for the entire house. I called the salesperson, explained the error and he said he'd come out the following week to give me the correct quote. He never did and never called to follow up. I had called the office twice, explained the situation and nothing happened. Realize this was a small job, however the lack of follow through and accuracy was a huge disappointment. We wanted to support Elmhurst businesses, but with this poor service, we went with another roofing company. The job is completed and we are very happy with the results. After three phone calls to Feze, we still have not heard from them. read more

I called Brian when our skylight started to leak. He confirmed that the roofing and flashing were in good shape, but the caulking around the glass had begun to disintegrate. The man who recaulked the skylight showed me pictures of how the original caulking had deteriorated, fixed the problem quickly and even refused a tip. read more
