We recently worked with 4Ever Remodeling and their whole team to remodel our basement with bathroom, and a bar. I could not be more pleased with the result. I found 4Ever from scanning online reviews and Yelp, and consistently, all their customers seemed to have a positive experience. I bid out my project ( a gut unit renovation) to them and another contractor to get comparison bids. I had read from previous reviews that they were not the least expensive (nor most expensive), but you get what you pay for, and I felt comfortable with their pricing after bidding it out to another contractor I knew, so I felt they were in line. The whole team I interacted with was very professional. Ryan helped me with the initial project scope, I met Damian the owner at one of the initial emails, Klaudia helped with design work (while I had a vision in mind - her expertise helped me finesse some items - especially with the kitchen design), Diana helped with my construction draws through my bank and Marek was an excellent project manager. I loved their project management software, Buildertrend as it helped keep me updated with photos and weekly project updates. It was also the repository for all the invoicing and change order approvals. I appreciated the transparency. They also allowed you to furnish some items yourself to save on markups. But, in hindsight, while some items I still would have selected and purchased on my own, for others, I would have paid the nominal premium to go through them so I didn't have to coordinate the delivery and ensure the timing was right to avoid any delays. If selecting items, yourself, I would just make sure to be proactive in terms of timeline expectations for anything are responsible in providing. As for the work itself, the quality was excellent. I was extremely happy with the skill and workmanship of all the contractors who 4Ever used for the job. There were very little change orders (all but one I would call unforeseen), which many times can be exponential as you get into things. I had a good experience with 4Ever. Paulina asked me what price range i thought then proceeded to tell me quotes start at $35,000.00. Kitchen Remodel. Weird experience. Everything seems professional on the surface. I initially had sticker shock compared to most other remodeling companies including ones with better ratings. Anyway, they seemed professional and my wife and I didn't want to have to be project managers. So it seemed like a good pick. We worked with the designer, and she was great. However, this is where things got weird - per the designers recommendation we ordered a light for the kitchen when it arrived it was terrible - basically a toy light - fine mistakes happen. But the order was actually through a Chinese front company and was impossible to return - this was a $350 dollar purchase and the total project was for 75k. So okay shit customer service, fine let's move on. Next problem, we needed some new floorboards put in which were part of the initial bid - they immediately try to upcharge 2k hoping we will ignore it. They then tried to charge us 5k for pulling a heating unit - got the neighbor to do it for $500. Then we go to the cabinetry where things got heated. They had literally measured incorrectly on the square footage of cabinetry between our design and our bid. When this happened I pointed it out expecting a reduction and wound up on an hour long call with the owner of the company where he immediately took the high ground and tried to posture while ignoring the problem. Okay fine whatever - we're building the space now. Oh boy. So they first hung the cabinets almost 8 inches too low. Literally wouldn't have been able to put a knife block below it. They move it back up and had clearly ordered the wrong center cabinet above the microwave because it is hung way too high. All of the edging on the cabinets was chipping. The sidewall they put up was crooked. When they did the floors they used a tack finish rather than sheen like all the rest of the rooms. They come back to do it again, looks exactly the same. They didn't drill a hole above the microwave to vent through the roof, so for the first month apparently all our grease was going into the ceiling...Anyway, none of it is really bad, it's just not good, and there is no peace of mind that anything will be done professionally. I liked the project managers but they didn't respond promptly to anything. I liked the designer but she presented vendors that were crap. I liked the process but there was no oversight. None of it is worth the money. My friend had just done her kitchen and hired all private contractors that is the way. She got her kitchen and bathroom done by higher level professionals at a quarter of the price. read more

To say I am unhappy would potentially be the biggest understatement I have ever made. Today, they told me that they would not refund the custom cabinet that they measured for and installed that didn't actually fit because I had "signed off on it". Have spent like $140,000 with them and I cannot wait to update this review with all the receipts. Bad. From beginning to end. Mistakes all over the place. Property damage. Water leak. Holes in every wall. Carpet burns. Scratches on things they moved. Shotty work. Unprofessional. Horrible project "management". I hired them because I just wanted to pick things and be done. Still waiting for them to resolve this because I have since ordered an 18 inch cabinet that will actually fit in my tiny bathroom and the 24 inch one is still sitting in the front room waiting for them to pick it up and give me my $1200 back. There are so many more things. I asked for very little but n the beginning and things kept going wrong and excuses were made and the bottom line is, they are pedestrian and these projects were too much to ask. Over promised. Under delivered. Still waiting to finish my first floor because I had to replace everything they had me buy because nothing fit. Some of these great reviews were compensated. I know this because I had originally posted a great one during the design process and got a gift card. You'll notice that they all started pouring in around the same time. I'll be back with updates as this progresses further. My lawyer has been involved for a couple months. The owner has escalated this by providing bad review to my business. From the conception of the project, they were very responsive and made multiple trips to our house to review samples and design options, even helped us accommodate some last minute design changes. Magda was great with offering specific design solutions to really help modernize the look of our kitchen that we hadn't even considered. We had some issues with existing bathroom and me with my husband decided to interview 5 companies to get the idea of how much small face lift bathroom remodel would cost. We wanted to buy our own finishes like tile, tub, faucet, vanity toilet, etc and were looking for the labor and building material price only. The prices were from $14K to $25K. As it was basic facelift we did not want to pay on the higher end however the same time we did not work with the less expensive company. 4Ever Remodeling price was $21,850 for the work including building materials. They were the second most expansive. The reason we chose 4ever because they use cement board and additional waterproofing system for the bathtub area. We hired 4ever remodeling after doing deep research on the company and product. We wanted to turn our unfinished basement into a place that was a continuation of the rest of our house. The design and production team at 4Ever Remodeling was professional, detail oriented and the construction crew did good and clean job during the project. The estimate came around 15% in higher than some of the other companies we had for consultation but 4Ever offered design service, better warranty, project manager and the quality of the products better then other companies offered. The project went a little over schedule, but part of that was a slight change to the scope of work on our end. The only negative aspect would be the time after the final inspection to when the final re-touches were completed. It took three weeks to finished them, however, the basement was completely livable. Last year my wife and I reached out to multiple contractors/companies to remodel the upstairs kitchen in our two-flat and convert an unfinished hallway into a laundry room. We ultimately decided to go with 4Ever Remodeling after meeting with Damian and Magda. Their quoted price was very reasonable; not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive compared to other design/build companies. We could not be happier with how everything turned out. Their flexibility, professionalism, and -- most importantly -- the quality of work exceeded our expectations. The scope of work was by no means simple, as almost everything about the layout of our kitchen was functionally obsolete and needed to be re-imagined for easier everyday use and modern storage needs. Plumbing and gas lines had to be re-configured for an additional sink and laundry installation, and the refrigerator had to be creatively fit into an adjacent closet behind the existing drywall. These tasks were expertly completed and the before/after photos speak for themselves as to the quality of workmanship. We used Magda for her kitchen design service before construction and we highly recommend using her. Her knowledge, expertise, and confidence was invaluable to us and would be to anyone who doesn't have experience dealing with the nuances and stress that come with an extensive remodel. She was there to not only to extract the vision we wanted into construction drawings but also to help consult us on more specific design ideas, and often break our indecisive gridlocks on simple choices like backsplash, faucets, grout color, etc. Any remodeling process can be overwhelming but Magda simplified things for us and was worth her fee 10 times over. As soon as construction started, the foreman, Adam, and his team, were on site every morning, Monday through Friday (and sometimes Saturday!), 8am-5pm, like clockwork, until the job was done. 4Ever is a company that is not going to stop the job until it is finished. Adam was a unique problem solver who was able to diagnose and correct issues arising from the age of our 140 year old house. He was very focused and kept us informed on the schedule and ideas for bringing the design to fruition. Damian was the foreman and estimator - he was prompt and prices seem to be fair. Marcin was the contractor that did all of the hands on work. Very friendly and professional. Based on estimate and consult experience: The company was responsive and quick to schedule an in home consultation. However, the business appears to be more directed at pricier renovations. I was transparent in giving my expected budget over the phone and the company agreed to do a consultation. They then proceeded to state essentially they won't do bathrooms for less than $20K which was way above quotations from other smaller businesses and personal contractors. They appear to do excellent work based on other reviews. They were transparent about the price through a "ballpark estimate." I would not recommend for those who do not have 10s of thousands of dollars to spend on relatively minor bathroom renovations. read more

We reached out to a few different contractors on our kitchen remodel before the pandemic began and were looking to use 4Ever Remodeling based on the services they offer and the price. They weren't the cheapest but also not the most expensive and they had great reviews. We decided to pause because the pandemic hit and just with all the uncertainty we weren't ready to sign a contract yet and Damian was super gracious about it. However after nearly a year of being in our kitchen every day our appliances started to give out so we reached out to Damian to restart the project. He got us a quote really quickly and we started working with Magda on the design. It was super helpful to work with Magda because she made some really key suggestions that have made our kitchen a joy to use. Once the project started we were working with Mike, who was our project manager, and he was super responsive to us which was incredibly helpful. We even had a mishap where our laundry appliances died in the middle of the remodel and they were able to add some electrical work so that the new laundry appliances we got could be installed. It was a pleasure working with them, the only hiccups we had were basically out of control of the team because we were trying to get appliances delivered in Chicago in winter while there were snow storms all week. Even though that messed up the estimated timeline, they were really great at adjusting and figuring out how to take care of us as quickly and efficiently as possible given what was in their control. The contractors themselves were excellent craftsmen and they were respectful, clean, efficient and just a joy to work with. We highly recommend Damian and his team. They have excellent craftsmen and we couldn't be happier with the quality. Having used the kitchen for a few months now we're really thrilled with the way the project turned out and will definitely be using them again for any further remodeling projects. read more

We just finished our kitchen and main floor remodel with 4Ever Remodeling in early November. Our process started last summer 2022 when my husband and I interviewed several companies. Scope of project: New LVP flooring throughout main floor, slight changes to kitchen layout, new kitchen cabinets, new countertops, additional lighting, additional outlets, new bathroom vanity, new & bigger electric panel. We did all demo and completed other projects ourselves for the remodel. 4Ever Remodeling responded quickly. I called the company and they made an appointment to have someone come out to give me an estimate by the following week. They went above and beyond by offering not only an estimate, but also some advice on how to handle some of our issues. The crew was on time and unobtrusive allowing us to continue our lives at home fully, and they cleaned up well everyday after finishing. Everyone took time to listen to us and carefully and explicitly respond to our various questions and requests, through the whole job. I found 4Ever Remodeling for my master bathroom remodel project through referrals from a friend who used them for their remodeling project a few years ago. Best Value: Excellent design, quality, and management at a reasonable cost, offering the highest value of all those I have previously used. Cleanliness: 4Ever understands dust management and cleanliness. If you are living through a mess and cleaning dust out of strange places a year after completion, you chose the wrong remodeler. This is a huge priority for me, and 4Ever is great at it. Professionalism: During the project, they have never let me down. The project manager always answered the phone, and the entire construction team always showed up on time. They could find all the expertise they need regardless of the issue encountered on the job. For those who have dealt with remodelers, you know how impressive that is. Warranty: After two years of the master bathroom remodel, I had a creak on the ceiling and floor. I filled out the warranty call on their website and within two weeks they scheduled a repair person to fix it under their three-year installation warranty without any problems. Didn't respond to our inquiry, even to say they weren't interested. I took the time to go to their site and give an overview of the work we needed done. They may not be interested but at least taking 2 minutes to reply to that effect would be nice so I can mark them off and keep moving. Just had a free consultation for 2 bathroom remodeling and it was a sweet short conversation. Our bathrooms are typical guest and master bathrooms. After answering few questions, the guy said, they will work on anything around $12K per bathroom project and then he walked out. It sounded like: you don't even think about it if your budget is lower than $10K per bathroom. Also, he didn't even bother to offer products and services that make me buy in or at least think about it. What a waste of time. The guy said: "good company is always busy".
