It has been a year since Stefan remodeled our kitchen and built a closet in our foyer. Both projects were done at the same time, and he did a great job on both projects. Both projects have been without any issue. The kitchen project consisted of a complete remodel, replacing the hardwood floor and subfloor, installing all new cabinets, building and installing an island with range hood, running water and gas lines as needed, installing backsplash tile, installing granite countertops, installing recessed lighting, and painting. The work was great and he finished within the timeframe he gave us. He also matched the stain for the hardwood floor with the existing hardwood floor. The closet project consisted of framing out a new closet, installing closet doors, framing out and installing cabinets above the closet for additional storage space, and painting. We have an older home, which means that remodeling projects can be complicated by unexpected or unanticipated conditions. But Stefan and his crews did a great job. I hired Alpha House Construction to remodel the house I purchased. Unfortunately, my experience was very frustrating from start to finish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Stefan was very difficult to work with throughout the project. A large part of the battle was constantly having to argue with him because he acted like it was his home and his decisions mattered more than mine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Mid project my $800 Kohler shower head went missing. Instead of taking responsibility or helping resolve the issue, Stefan tried to blame me for it, and I ended up having to repurchase it myself. Later, when I started having issues with the plumbing work, Stefan sent his plumber out to look at it instead of coming himself. As the general contractor on the job, I expected him to personally come see the issue and take ownership of what was happening rather than passing it off to someone else. Over time, I started experiencing repeated backups, bubbling toilets, and drainage issues. After continuing to deal with these problems, I learned that the a pipe that was installed by Alpha House was back pitched and holding water and waste instead of draining properly. When the plumbing was inspected, standing water and sludge were visible in the line, but I was still told everything was normal and there was no issue by Alpha House. I trusted that advice at the time, but the problems continued. Since then, I have had three different plumbers inspect the line, and all three told me the installation was incorrect. I was told the pipe was improperly pitched and that at least one of the fittings was not installed correctly. I am now stuck paying THOUSANDS to have the piping redone because the original installation was not done properly in the first place. What is most frustrating is not just that the work appears to have been done incorrectly, but that the issue was clearly visible on camera and Stefan still dismissed my issues instead of being addressed. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Alpha House Construction. read more

I reached out to this company for a tile quote. The owner asked me to send him a picture via text message to get an estimate. He sends the estimate, agrees on a time frame, asks me for pictures of the tile that so he can know what tools to bring to the job. After agreeing to these terms, he then tells me that the job (fireplace tile instillation) "is not worth it". This is extremely unprofessional to agree that you will do a job and then to just change your mind because the job "is not worth it". Be careful when dealing with Stefan. This is no way to build a business relationship with a customer. I would have just appreciated him telling me that he can't take the job instead of wasting my time sending pictures, agreeing on a date and getting a quote, just to find out that the fire place tile instillation, what he specializes in, "is not worth it for him". Alpha House Construct did a major renovation on our 3707 s.f. house. They did an amazing job! Stefan and his crew put in a new kitchen, installed 6 new bathrooms, installed new appliances and water heaters, replaced metal railing, did painting touch-up, put in GFCI and replaced all electrical cover--plates and registers. We are remodeling a kitchen and removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen leaving a hole in between the rooms. This was made worse by the difference in flooring heights. The tile in the kitchen was 3/4 of an inch higher than the hardwood in the dining room. We don't have the money to refinish the hardwood right now. Andrei figured out a reasonable and good looking solution. He came when he said he would and did what he said he would for the price he estimated. He is smart and friendly.
